I'm really sorry to say this, but I have a feeling that the 'SA-MBTB' Version won't be posted very soon. I'll keep on writing it, but I probably won't post it until I reach around chapter twenty. A big apology to all those people who wanted to read the 'SA-MBTB' Version sooner, but you'll just have to wait a bit.

So, time for the story :3 -

-

The fox had been sitting there for a while, concerned at the woman's silence. Obviously she must be thinking about what to do with the two now that they had arrived.

"So", Liz started. "Did you have a good night's sleep?"

The foxes bobbed their assent. They really did have a very good night's sleep, the comfortable bed working wonders on their bodies which were used to the super thin mattress that they were given in the cell.

"Now the thing is about that room, is that it isn't really meant to be yours", stated Liz.

The fox tried to hide his disappointment at the fact, but he was sure it must have been expressed somehow because of the sympathetic look he received from Liz. The woman continued.

"We were supposed to put you in there."

She pointed to the makeshift shed in the garden. The two foxes didn't even try to hide their emotions anymore, both faces becoming a picture of worry, obviously dreading the thought of having to sleep in the horrendous construction. Their faces relaxed a bit when Liz continued, however.

"Now, I think we can all agree that nobody should ever have to sleep in there, so we have decided to give you the spare room. It was originally used as a second guest room by the people who owned this house before us, but we haven't even touched it since we bought the house."

The foxes definitely had a brighter look on their faces than when they discovered they were meant to be sleeping in the shed, but they probably missed having the guest room, and Dan was especially hurt when everyone pulled faces at the thought of having to sleep in the shed he had made, although he could definitely understand their reasoning.

"So yes, I was hoping that for today you could help us get the room prepared for you to stay in. It has an en-suite like the room you slept in last night, but it will need some cleaning to make it usable again and the main room may need a bit of cleaning as well, although you would only be doing the floor and removing the cobwebs in the corners."

For their first task, it definitely seemed like a reasonable one and hopefully, nothing wrong could possibly happen when all you are doing is cleaning.

"Me and Dan are going to leave you here while we go out to the shops to go and buy a bed for the room. We're going to take the keys and lock the door behind us, ok, and we will expect the room spotless by the time we get back. However, it's a bit early for us to go out yet, so you can get a head start on us if you want. But before you start to do any of that, you are going to have breakfast first. How does scrambled eggs on toast sound to you?"

The reaction in the two were almost immediate, their tongues running across their lips as they imagined eating something other than the dried cubes of disgusting-tasting biscuit that they were given in their time at the Sanctuary. Liz seemed surprised at their eagerness for food, but she also realised that they probably hadn't had much choice when it came to food at where they had come from. She rose from the sofa and walked towards the kitchen, leaving the fox and the vixen alone with Dan.

"You know, I'm really sorry for how I treated you when you first arrived", apologised Dan.

The fox was greatly relieved at the statement, and when he looked over to where Liz was preparing the food, he could see her looking up with a smile before quickly focusing again on the food she was preparing. The fox silently asked Dan for the permission to speak. Dan looked surprised at the fox's actions, but soon looked sad when he realised it was his actions when they had first met which was causing the fox to act in this way.

"Please speak, I didn't really mean what I had said when we first met. You can talk whenever you want here, although you will have to ask for my permission if we have guests round, for rather obvious reasons."

"Thank you si- sorry, Dan", the fox continued on. "But yesterday you said about naming me, are you still going to do that?"

"Of course!", chimed Liz. "We couldn't just go around calling you slave all the time now, could we?"

Liz had finished making breakfast, the fox's eyes opening wide when he saw the amount on the plate. By the looks of it, the vixen was also thinking the same as him. This was a LOT more than he was normally given. Most likely the humans didn't understand that Reklan didn't need as much food as they did, as the foxes' plates had enough food on them to last any Reklan a whole day.

The foxes nodded their agreement to Liz, still staring at the massive amounts of food on their plates. They started eating and were already full up after they'd only eaten half of what was placed in front of them. Liz was looking at them uncertainly, probably surprised at how little they ate compared to them.

"We don't need to eat as much as you do", explained the fox. "And even considering how great it tasted, what you gave us there would've been enough for breakfast, lunch and dinner."

"Thank you, I'll remember that next time", Liz said. "But now it's time to talk about names. I have a few in my head, but if you have any suggestions I would like to hear them first."

"I've thought of some, but I don't really like any of them", replied the fox.

"Well it looks like we're stuck with the ones I've thought of, then. I've only really had a couple of ideas. There's Todd, Voss, -", Liz's voice was cut off by the vixen.

"How about Kitt. I'd love it if I could have a lovely kit around me all the time. And you're definitely unsure enough around a female to justify the name."

As the vixen talked, she ran a finger up the back of the fox, eliciting a shudder from him as he felt her claw trace the back of his spine. Liz was definitely glad that they had gotten two of them, although she couldn't say the fox was glad at all.

"I think Voss is a nice name", said the fox, shuffling away from the vixen but to no effect, her finger still running patterns across the fox's back.

"Good, I thought that was a nice name as well. Now for your name, miss vixen."

The vixen snapped out of her playfulness as she realised she was being talked to.

"Do you have a name?", Liz asked.

"Not really, although some of the Reklan where I used to live called me Fionn."

The fox smiled at the comment. She obviously didn't know what the name meant. It was a word from the ancient Irish language meaning 'foxglove flower'. The foxglove plant still existed today, and although some chemicals in it could be used for herbal remedies, the foxglove plant was poisonous and could cause some rather nasty side effects, giving it the names 'witch's glove' and 'dead man's bell'. The fox could definitely empathise with the thoughts of the Reklan who called her by that name, especially after the experiences he'd been through with her.

"I think that's a brilliant name", exclaimed the fox, trying to hide the smile on his face from the vixen. Maybe this could be his little bit of revenge against the vixen for the wake up call she gave him. She definitely may be attractive and manipulative, but she had nowhere near the amount of knowledge as the fox. Together though, he thought, they might make the perfect team with his intelligence and her cunningness working in unison.

"Great! I'm glad we have that all sorted out then. It's a pleasure to meet you, Voss and Fionn."

"It's a pleasure to meet you too, Dan and Liz", came the reply from the foxes.

The two humans finished their breakfast, taking the two foxes' leftovers and storing them in the fridge for later. Liz went over to the sofas and said that it would be better if they talked there, so the foxes got up and sat down in the places they had first sat this morning, sitting at an angle to the sofa Liz and Dan were both sharing.

"So as I said earlier, we're going to go out, but not until later. If you're going to start on the room now, you'll need to know where the room actually is, along with the cleaning stuff. Follow me."

The two foxes got up and followed Liz up the stairs to a door at the end of the passageway which led to where Liz said her and Dan's bedroom was, along with the guest room they had slept in last night. As they reached to door, Liz stopped and opened it, revealing a room exactly the same as Liz had described it. Completely empty, with a few cobwebs in some of the corners.

The walls of the room were painted cream, with the floor being a dark, chocolate brown carpet. There was a window on the far wall which overlooked the back garden, a rectangular patch of grass which was as wide as the house and about thirty meters long. The front of the garden was in an ok state, but as you went further back, the grass grew longer and tougher, with a variety of weeds showing themselves amongst the mud.

They then went over to a closed door that was to the side of the room. It was opened to reveal a bathroom. The room had white, tiled walls and an expesive marble floor similar to the one that was in the other guest room. There was a toilet and a sink on one side of the room and one of those baths which also doubled as a shower on the other side.

It would be simple enough to clean the room and they guessed it wouldn't take them more than an hour. Once they had looked at the bathroom, Liz led them out again, went downstairs and showed them a cupboard filled with cleaning utensils. There was a broom, feather duster and a vacuum cleaner inside and a shelf which had various cleaning sprays and bleaches neatly lined up on it.

Liz took down one of the sprays labeled 'Smashing - Bathroom Cleaner' and handed it to the fox. She then proceeded to take down a variety of other things that they were to use when cleaning the room.

"Here you go!", Liz said.

She proceeded to detail everything they needed to do to clean the room and once she was finished they went upstairs, carrying their equipment along with them. Once they had disappeared up the stairs, Liz turned to dan.

"Do you think they'll be alright?", asked Liz.

"I'm sure they'll be fine. The people at the office say that they can pretty much learn how to do anything, and will pretty much do anything if you tell them to do it."

"That's good, but I was also wondering about their mental state as well. They must be feeling something after being taken from their parents and stuck in that slave place for however long they were kept there for. I was just thinking whether there might be a way to reduce the stress."

"I'm sure we're doing fine already. The best cure for stress is always having someone to care for you, and I'm sure we're doing that job just fine."

"That's good to know", finished Liz.

They both sat down on the sofa next to each other and instead of turning on the TV, they just sat together, wondering about how it would all work out, for both them and the foxes.
