Contrasts of Bittersweet

Another poem. This one has a rhyme to it because it just felt like it needed to be. Just another way for me to let myself breathe a little.

There's a chill in the air,

Darkness is there,

But my eyes see so vividly now.

I shut myself in,

Devoured by sin,

But my lips are trembling now.

If I can't breathe,

And you just seethe,

And my body is quivering now,

Then I'm set free,

But you can't see,

How my spirit is screaming now.

Can't fate let me live?

For all that I give,

As my being is torn apart now?

The selfish me will cry,

The foolish one will die.

My tears are falling now.

The answers are gone,

Left without song,

But my voice is singing somehow.

And against my own will,

I feel the thrill.

Of your heart beating now.

In light of the past,

These ghosts won't last.

I am who I want to be now.

So let me be close,

You're what I want the most,

And it's time for us to live now.

Inverse Dissonance

Chapter 5: I finally felt my lungs achning for air by the time I had reached the edge of our territory. I had forgotten to breathe. As I inhaled, I couldn't stop this suffocating feeling that reached around me and choked me into more silent sobs....
