Forbidden Love

My pendant began glowing brightly, as it always did when I was in danger. "I know that," I yelled at it, my wings wildly flailing to stay in the air. I was exhausted. After three days of nonstop flying, my body suddenly gave out. I fell to the ground. As I quickly gained speed, I shut my eyes.

'So this is how it's all going to end?' I thought to myself.

I never felt myself hit the ground. I only remember opening my eyes to a beautiful pink animal in a room dimly lit by a small candle, spreading its soft, warm light. The animal turned its head, and said in a heavenly voice, "He's awake, bring some water, quickly."

I heard another voice from outside the room. I tried to turn my head to it, but I couldn't move. "I'm coming, relax. It's not like he's going anywhere." The voice echoed through the room. This voice was male, and appeared to be a teenager.

A teenage boy entered the room holding a small tray of water. He placed it down next to me, stood up and left the room again. The pink animal put her face into my line of sight; she must have been standing directly over me. "Are you really awake?" she asked me, seemingly not believing I was awake.

She tapped on my head with her paw. "Heloooo, anyone in there?"

The teenage boy entered the room with another pan; this one appeared to have food on it. "Ruby, don't torture the poor thing; let him rest. He's been through a lot."

She moved away and I heard her sit down beside me. "Nall, next time you decide to predict rain, you should be more specific. It wouldn't have been funny if he hadn't landed in your lap; we'd still be cleaning him off of the entrance."

The boy kneeled down next to me, opposite from my other caregiver, and leaned over my body. "Take it easy, we are friends, you had quite a fall."

I just stared at him. I put every ounce of energy into doing something, shaking a paw, wagging my tail, anything. I managed to find the strength to blink.

The boy looked toward his companion. "He looks a little hungry."

Ruby, as the boy had called her, replied. "He looks cute."

The boy chuckled. "Don't be getting any ideas, Ruby."

I heard a disheartened sigh from my other side, where Ruby was sitting. "I know...but still, you have to admit, he's not without his charms."

My strength began returning, although I still couldn't do anything. It was several more minutes before I had the strength to speak. I gave a soft moan.

"Look, he's alive." Ruby said excitedly.

I still couldn't form anything that qualified as an intelligible word, but I did my best. "Huh?"

The boy propped my body up and lifted a spoon filled with water to my mouth. Noticing I was desperately thirsty, I carefully swallowed the spoonful as he slowly poured it into my mouth. I could feel my tongue become moist as the cool liquid slid down my throat.

He slowly brought another spoonful to my mouth. Each bit of water I gulped down gave me more strength. "Th-Th-Thank...you..." I felt pathetic. I could barely speak, and I must have looked, not to mention smelled, half dead.

The boy put the spoon down, but kept me propped up against his hand.

"Ugh...my head...where am I?" I asked...my head felt like it had been beaten mercilessly with a large hammer.

"Welcome to Taben's Peak. My name is Nall." He said.

I wasn't slow to come up with a witty remark about his friend. "And I am to assume that this delightful ball of fur is Ruby?"

"You guessed it." Her sprightly attitude and tactless approach to life were slightly attractive. It is the first time I have seen a woman act so bold.

I suddenly noticed that I had been covered with a blanket, which was fortunate, as I discovered I was more attracted to her than I thought. I quickly rolled off of the boy's hand and onto my stomach before anyone noticed.

Still not having much strength, I dragged myself over to the bowl of water and drank from it. The cool water was a relief to my dry throat. I don't know how long I drank, but it must have been a lot. I found myself standing over a mostly empty bowl.

"Are you a dragon, or a fish?" Ruby asked in her usual tactless manner.

I lifted my head. "Neither, I don't think..."

Her smile faded into a concerned expression. She slowly approached me, stopped across the bowl from me and sat down, tilting her head. "You don't know what you are?"

I sat down. To my relief, my initial 'excitement' had disappeared. "No." I said sadly. I knelt down for another drink.

"I'm sorry; I can't imagine what that must be like." She said supportively.

A voice came from the doorway. "I can."

We both turned to see Nall standing in the doorway. He leaned against the frame with his arms folded.

Ruby sat there completely surprised. "You didn't know what you were?"

Nall stood up and let his arms fall to his side. He shook his head and approached me. "No, I didn't." He knelt down and examined me closely, making me feel incredibly uncomfortable. He picked me up and stared into my eyes. "You are definitely a dragon...and a black one at that. But how did you get here?"

"Save the interrogation until he's had something to eat, Nall." Ruby interjected. I was glad she interrupted him. I didn't particularly want to answer a lot of questions. I don't think my stomach did either, as it let out a painful rumble that could be heard across the room.

Nall nearly fell over laughing. He put me down and left the room, trying to control himself.

I walked over to the plate of food. It was filled with what appeared to be shredded meat. It wasn't bad, but I had grown accustomed to wild game and berries. This meat tasted bland by comparison.

Ruby sat down across from me again. She seemed to have a tremendous interest in me. I enjoyed her company, but would rather have her act a little more casually when it came to eating.

"So, Kazu, may I join you?" She asked suddenly.

I looked across the bowl to her. I suddenly noticed she was waiting for me to invite her to eat. "Sorry, be my...wait...how did you know my name was Kazu?"

She chuckled. Her laugh was beautiful. I was quickly falling in love with her. She pointed to my pendant and took a bite out of whatever it was that was in my plate.

I tilted my pendant to see the inscription engraved on it. I knew it was there, but, not having looked at it for some time, I tend to forget. "Oh." I chuckled lightly.

"What's that thing for anyway, is it some sort of memento?"

"It's a key." I replied.

She tilted her head. "What?"

I let the pendant fall to its hanging position around my neck. "I don't know...it's a key for something, but I don't know what."

"Well, how do you know it's a key then?"

I suddenly stopped. I kept my past a secret for some time. I wasn't sure I was ready to tell it, but I sensed something in her that said 'it's okay to tell me.'

"It's my only memory." I answered her after a short pause, which felt like an eternity.

Ruby's jaw dropped suddenly. "You have no memories?"

I sighed and took a quick gulp of the meat. "I have most of them, but some of my early ones are missing. You probably don't want me to bore you with the details."

I could tell she was concerned and wanted to know more, but she didn't push the matter. Despite her initial coarseness, she seemed to be sentimental and loving. I admired this and wanted desperately to bring it out. We continued eating in silence, occasionally glancing at each other across the bowl. She seemed to be attracted to me, but something held her back.

We finished eating and I laid down on the bedding I woke up on. She came and laid down next to me. "Would you mind if I kept you company?"

I chuckled lightly "Not at all."

Her soft body slowly leaned into mine. I could tell she was falling asleep. "You seem tired. How long were you watching over me?"

She suddenly propped herself up again. "Huh? Oh...Several days. Nall was busy and he asked me to keep an eye on you. I didn't sleep much. I wasn't sure when you'd wake up."

"And how long before you started to find me attractive?" I threw at her playfully.

This question caught her off-guard, and she said nothing. Despite her fur being pink, I could see she was blushing.

Her response made me laugh lightly. "Don't worry; I think you're cute myself."

She smiled. I could tell she was becoming attracted to me. I wanted to take it further, but what she said next crushed those hopes.

"I'm sorry," she said standing up. "I Love Nall. I shouldn't be having this conversation."

My jaw dropped slightly. "With that human?"

She put on an obviously fake smile and shook her head. "Nall is actually a dragon. He is just in that human form most of the time."

"I'm the one who should be sorry. I pushed you into a situation where you weren't comfortable. That doesn't change the fact that you look like you are about to collapse. Please, lie down and rest." I begged her to relax. I knew full well the dangers of overworking oneself.

Ruby yawned. Her eyes were half closed due to fatigue. The soft blanket I was laying on was very inviting. "I shouldn't. Nall wouldn't be happy."

I stood up and gestured to the blanket once more. "Please, get some rest."

Ruby slowly walked up to the blanket and laid down. Rolling onto her side, she fell asleep almost instantly. I watched her for several minutes. Her content face and smooth fur made me smile. I watched her chest rise and fall with each slow, relaxed breath she took. Her paws and tail lied limp on the floor. I could see a smile form on her face. I grabbed a blanket, covered her body, and quietly left the room.

I found Nall sitting on a balcony on a playground. He turned around and looked at me. "You should still be resting."

I shook my head. "I feel fine. Ruby said she had been taking care of me for several days. She needed it more than I do. I will be fine."

As I flew up on the balcony, Nall's face suddenly turned to concern. "What is that mark on your body?"

I folded my wings, covering the spot. I usually kept it hidden, specifically to avoid questions like this. "I got that wound when I was a child. I was flying toward the black dragon cave when I was accidently shot by an arrow. The people of Pao cared for me, but my wound was not without complications. I developed a high fever and lost all my memories up to that point...save for one...and it is but a fragment." I placed my paw under my pendant and tilted it into my line of sight.

"And you've been wandering Lunar ever since?" Nall asked.

I nodded, gazing up at the blue star, which never seems to change, no matter how or where I look at it. I sat there with Nall, saying very little. Time seemed to pass relatively quickly. Before I knew it, the sky was a mix of red and orange hues. I turned around and hopped off the ledge. "I should wake Ruby up. Dinner should be soon."

Nall laughed. "Might be longer than you think, I'm the cook."

My stomach growled lightly. "By chance do you have some behemoth meat? I haven't had that in a while."

Nall chuckled. "You really are an oddity. Most dragons love fish."

I walked off without replying. Ruby was still sleeping when I returned to the room. I quietly approached her. She still maintained her innocent look from when I left her. I was sorry I had to wake her. I blew in her ear softly.

Her ear twitched, but she remained asleep. My second attempt was more successful. She rolled onto her back and opened her eyes slowly, still smiling. I gazed into her soft red eyes and wanted to remain with her forever. I no longer cared about my memories. My pendent seemed of no importance to me now.

She chuckled seductively. "You know Nall wouldn't like you doing that."

I licked her face. "And he wouldn't like that either." I added. She seemed to be amused by my antics. What was holding her back?

The blanket fell off of her as she sat up. She turned around to face me. "Is it dinner already?"

"Well, Nall still has to make it yet." I looked at her bow, which was lopsided on her neck. Her fur was disheveled in several places. "You look like a mess." I walked behind her and straightened her bow. I was careful not to have my teeth leave a mark in the delicate fabric.

Ruby stood up and pulled away from me; I could sense her reluctance to stop. "Kazu, please. Don't toy with my emotions. I am in love with Nall." A tear formed in her eye. "Please, don't make me fall in love with you too..." She broke off and sobbed lightly. I moved next to her and placed my paw on her shoulder.

She shrugged it off and ran out of the room, crying loudly. I felt terrible. I chased her down. Not knowing where she was, I had to thoroughly check each room. I had a feeling she wasn't with Nall though.

After several minutes of searching, I finally found her on the balcony. Nall had since left, and the playground was deserted, save for her and her sobbing. I approached her slowly. "Ruby, I'm-"

"Go away." She sobbed.

"Please, I want to-"

She turned to me. "What? Help? How can you help when you are the cause of my problem?"

I sat down next to her. "I'm sorry. I know this isn't easy for you. But-"

"No, no 'buts'. I was the one who suggested we take care of you. I insisted that we make you feel at home. I-I-"

"Ruby, would you please listen to me!?" I interrupted her with a yell. She sniveled and looked at me. Her eyes were filled with tears. "I don't know what is happening between you and Nall, and I don't know what it is you see in him. But I do know that I love you. In the few hours we've known each other, I have learned what I am, and how to love. Many years of traveling have stripped me of those luxuries. I know this is sudden, and you don't want to believe it, but I can sense what you refuse to believe."

'It's not fair!" She shook her head violently. "Nall has given me a home and anything I could have asked for. I was happy. Then you come in and show me more kindness than I could ever dream of. You don't understand. It's not that I don't want to love you, it's that I can't love you."

I started to speak, but stopped, realizing that I couldn't say anything. Love was standing right in front of me, yet I couldn't reach out and grab it. It floated just beyond my reach.

I heard footsteps behind me. I turned to see Nall. He appeared not to notice that Ruby was sobbing. "Dinner is ready."

Ruby regained her composure long enough to speak. "I'm not hungry; please eat without me."

Nall walked off. I flew after him, stopping to turn around and look at her one last time. "Do you want me to save you something?"

"Just go away!" She threw back at me.

I flew into the building, my tail drooped low. I wished there was something I could have said, even the slightest thing to comfort her...and myself.

Dinner was tense and quiet. Nall seemed to know something was going on, but either wasn't sure how, or didn't want to ask.

I slipped a few slices of bread under my wings during dinner. It wasn't much, but I knew Ruby would be hungry. I hoped she wasn't too upset with me.

I searched the balcony for her, but found she wasn't there anymore. Following her scent, I found her sobbing in my bedding. I approached slowly and dropped the bread in front of her. She looked at it.

"Thought you might be hungry." I said.

She looked at me.

"I can't sleep in my bed if you soak it with your tears." I joked.

She didn't appear amused. "I thought I told you to leave me alone." She sounded both angry and lonely.

I chuckled and sat down next to her. "The first thing you have to learn about me is that I dislike being told what to do."

She sat up and leaned her soft body into mine. I could feel the heat her body generated. Her warmth and beauty were all but overwhelming. I leaned into her as well. A tear ran down my fur. I looked down at her. "Still don't know what to do?"

She sat upright. "I don't know anymore. I love you both."

I wrapped my wing around her and pulled her into my body. "It's ok. I don't need an answer. The only answer you should seek is for yourself. Look inside; you will know what to do."

I could feel her heart beating. It beat a sad, confused rhythm that made me feel sorry for her. I tilted my head, leaning it on top of hers. I heard her sigh heavily.

She slowly pulled away and began eating the bread I dropped on the floor. Her crying had stopped, but I could still see tears hanging around her eyes. She ate slowly. I knew she was thinking about our relationship, and the one she shared with Nall. Accepting one meant giving up the other...a trade she refused to make.

She finished and turned towards me.

"If you can't decide, allow me to help you. I can't stand to see you like this." I stepped toward her and kissed her passionately. I put everything I felt into that kiss. Her eyes grew wide, but slowly shrunk, then disappeared altogether. She rolled to her side, still locked in the kiss. After several seconds, we broke off.

She looked at me, half shocked, half happy. The end of her tail flicked up into the air and flopped limply back onto the floor. She stood up and looked at me. I could see that my actions had their desired effect. She smiled. Her kind smile and pure eyes said more than words could have. Her eyes told of love, loss, friendship, and trust; her smile showed hardship, and perseverance.

"I won't push you anywhere you don't want to go." I said, trying to soothe her fraying nerves. I could sense the inner conflict within her.

Another tear fell from her eyes. "I know that. Somehow, you didn't need to say it."

I could feel my heart pounding. Its racing beat accelerated through my chest. Just looking at Ruby, I could sense she felt the same. She laid down on the bedding, and rolled onto her side, still smiling at me. Instinctively, I walked up behind her.

I could feel my penis slowly leaving its hiding place. Ruby rolled onto her back. I stood over her, just gazing into her face. I lowered my head and licked her cheek softly. She chuckled. Her beauty was amplified by this heartfelt laugh. I never wanted to see this expression leave her face.

She just laid there, looking into my eyes. I nodded and slowly backed up and lowered my body. Her smile never faded as my protrusion slowly parted her entrance. Another tear fell from her eye.

I wiped it away with my wing. "Still conflicted? You can always stop here; I won't think anything of it."

She rubbed her nose against mine. "I've made my decision."

I softly began pumping in and out of her. I did my best to be incredibly gentle. I tried to prolong the sensations as long as I could. I was breathing heavily. She chuckled as I inhaled a large breath of air and moved my body across hers. She lifted he head and locked her lips to mine. We both closed our eyes as our tongues exchanged saliva. I picked up the speed of my pumping slightly. Her slippery walls squeezed my member. I stopped for a moment to enjoy her body working it gently.

She squirmed, signaling me to continue. I proceeded to probe her insides with my extension. She let of a soft moan of happiness and comfort. We finally broke our kiss. She let her head rest back on the soft blanket. Her walls constricted around my member as I moved it around inside her. I suddenly felt a warm fluid cover my underside. The sensation of the fluid dripping from my penis was incredible, and it drove me closer to my climax.

I lowered my head to her ear, rubbing my cheek against hers in the process. "I love you." I whispered as I felt the sensation that was filling my body suddenly spike. I pushed into her softly, but as far as I could. I could feel the fluid leaving me and entering her body. I lost my vision for a brief moment; all I could see was white.

My vision suddenly returned. I was greeted with the unconditional smile of the one I loved. I pulled out of her slowly, trying not to drip any more fluids on the already drenched bedding. I backed up further and rested my head on her soft, pink underside. I listened to the soft sound of our fluids mixing inside of her.

I heard her laugh. "Ha ha, Kazu! That tickles!"

I lifted my head off of her, and she rolled onto her side again. I moved back up behind her head and laid down behind her. I rested my head on hers. It didn't take long before I heard the soft, content sound of her sleeping again. I gave her one final peck on the cheek before falling asleep as well, my head still resting on hers.

Unexpected Company

Unexpected Company The sun rose and hit Ruby's face, slowly waking her up. She yawned and stretched out on the warm sand. She looked at Nall, who was still sleeping. A fiendish idea to wake him up crossed her mind, but she thought better of it,...
