Chapter 9

Athena and Venus started to visit Chase almost every day of week. He enjoyed their company just as much as they enjoyed his. It wasn't long before Venus started notice that Athena and Chase were starting to get close. She knew that those two liked each other because every time Athena and Chase were together in the same room they were both blushing. But what confirmed her assumption was when Athena got back from visit him one day. She was in an extremely good mood with a big smile on her muzzle but what gave her away was the way she swayed her hips and swung her tail from side to side with every step she took. Venus knew that walk. "Looks like my sister has a crush on that human she always hangs around with." Venus thought. Then she felt the ground shake and knew what it meant. Her oldest brother Thorn has returned. He was a dirt brown dragon with green stripes going across his body. He was the shortest out of all of them standing only 5ft 10 in tall he had a slim build. His tail was 5 ft long and his wingspan was only 3ft. At first glance one would think he's puny but Venus knew that looks can be deceiving and Thorn was a perfect example of that. He was the strongest out of the four siblings and deadliest second only to Kira. He was a master at strategy and combat. Very few have fought him in combat and lived to tell about it. "Venus what have they feeding you? You little squirt." he said with a smile. "Then fur termination system is almost operational and will be brought here from our base in one month" he said. "Why so early?" Venus asked. "The council has decided to wipe out the furs and any humans who help them. The fur termination system will wipe out wipe out all the furs on the planet." he responded. Athena had just walked in and heard what Thorn said. "Hello brother" she said with a bow. Thorn just waved at her and continued talking to Venus. What about the humans? What will happen to them? Athena asked with concern in her voice. The humans will be spared if they don't interfere. As they continued their conversation Pyro walked into the lair. "Long time no see Pyro." Thorn said with a grin. Pyro just glared at him. "What wrong? Cat got your tongue or did that human kick your tail again?" Thorn taunted. Pyro was furious after hearing that. "I would like to see you do any better." He growled. Actually I would like to meet this human. If he is strong enough to fight you and hold his own then he must be a very skilled warrior. It has been a long time since I faced a worthy opponent. I can't wait to see what he is capable of. Thorn said with a toothy grin. Athena was worried. She knew that the humans would not let them take the furs without a fight and was concerned about Chase. "So what is the situation on the weapon?" Pyro asked when he finally got his anger under control. It will be here in one month thanks to the new warp drive on the carrier ship. We are ahead of schedule and father has told me that he has already started the raid on the beach west of here. So far he has found only humans there but father has decided kill the humans and take the furs prisoner" Thorn said. Athena's heart was filled with fear. She knew that the only beach in that direction was the one Chase lived on and if what Thorn said is true then Chase was in grave danger. "I have to warn him before it is too late." she thought to herself. She started to leave when Pyro stopped her. "Going for another swim?" Pyro asked with suspicion in his voice. "Yes now get out of my way!" Athena hissed. Pyro stepped aside and wondered what she was up to but he knew that if he spied on her Venus would be furious. When Athena was out of sight she wasted no time getting to the beach but when she got there the beach houses were already trashed. She ran as fast as she could to Chase's house. When she got there she found Kira holding Chase by his neck chocking him. "Father please doesn't kill him!" She begged. Kira only smiled and tightened his grip on the human's throat. "Please spare him! I will do anything just please don't kill him!" She begged with tears in her eyes. "You will fight against the humans or I will kill this human. I can tell by the look in your eyes that he is precious to you. So if you want him to live you will fight and if you refuse I will kill him very slowly and make you watch every second of it." Kira said with an evil smile. He let go of Chase's neck and left. Athena knew he wasn't dead but he would be if she didn't do something. She brought Chase to the edge of the shore and put him in the water. As she held him her paws started to glow and all of Chase's wounds were healed. Once Chase was healed she left before he could wake up. After what he just went she thought it was best that he didn't see her. She knew that the only way to keep Chase safe was to obey her father's wishes.

Chapter 10

Mira and Jaden were walking to the old neighborhood were they first met. "So where are you living now?" Mira asked. "Not to far from here. It's about a two hour drive from here but enough about me. Tell me what you have been up to besides being a famous singer." Jaden responded. Mira was about to answer when she heard someone laughing. "Come out now." she said. Jaden started looking around to try to find the source of the laughter. Then he saw a vixen walking out from behind a tree. She looked just like just like Mira except for four differences. She had yellow eyes and Mira had blue eyes. She was also shorter standing 6ft 1in while Mira stood a 6ft 5in. Jaden stood at 6ft 3in. She was a black or silver fox a very rare breed while Mira was red fox. But what Jaden found the most interesting was that this vixen had seven tails. Mira's ears flattened against her head and the fur on the back of her neck began to stand up on end. Jaden knew that she was angry. What do you want Rin? Mira growled. "I was sent to kill the human because you are taking too long." She said pointing to Jaden. "Mira what is she talking about?" Jaden asked. Mira didn't answer. Jaden was about to ask again but Rin cut him off. Tell him the truth Mira. Or I will do it for you." Rin said impatiently. Mira turned to face Jaden. Jaden could tell she was scared. "Jaden I have not been complete honest with you and I hope this doesn't change anything between us but I understand if it does." She said as she took a few steps back. Jaden could only watch in amazement as the love of his life transformed right in front of him. When the transformation was complete Mira's fur was bright yellow instead of red her hand and foot paws were pure white with black nails. The tips of her ears also had the same white color. Her eyes were sapphire blue. He also noticed that her head fur was now black and longer reaching down past her shoulders and resembled human hair. She also had four tails. Jaden had heard stories of kitsune but thought they were just a myth until know. "Are you light or void?" Jaden asked. "Mira is light and I am void." "I'm impressed you that know so much about us or can tell the difference in classes." Rin said. "Why do you want to kill me?" Jaden asked in a worried tone. You humans have tortured the furs in this sector four years ago so our council has ordered the destruction of all humans that lived here. You are the only target that lived here during that time that is still alive and Mira was supposed to get close to you and kill you but the council sent me to do it in her place." Rin said. "I don't believe you." Jaden said coldly. "She tricked and manipulated you human. That is what a kitsune does. We act like they love you, we pretend to want to be with you and once we have had our fun we toss you aside like a piece of trash. Don't you see that you and every human out there just toys for us to play with until we get bored and find new victims." Rin said with a laugh. Jaden looked at Mira and asked "Is that true?" Mira looked away with her ears drooping. Jaden didn't need an answer he could tell by the look on her face that what Rin said was true. And the tears in her eyes told him that her feelings for him are sincere. "I don't care what you say or how many you say it. I love Mira and that will never change." Jaden said in a serious tone. "It doesn't matter because I am still going to kill you." Rin said with disgust in her voice. Her paw started glowing and she shot a white fire ball at Jaden closed his eyes and waited for the attack to hit but it never did. When he opened his eyes he saw Mira standing in front of him. She had used her own body to shield Jaden from the blast. Rin wasn't fazed at all. If you are going die with him that is fine with me. Mira knew she wouldn't survive a second blast and because Rin was a seven tail Mira no match for her. Rin was about to launch another attack when a third kitsune appeared. She looked just like Mira except she was much older and had nine tails. "Stop this nonsense at once." She ordered. Mother I was just about to destroy the human and the traitor. Rin said glaring at Mira. Jaden couldn't believe what was happening Mira just saved his life and now a nine tailed kitsune came to their aid. She is no traitor Rin and this human is not evil like the others. He is one of the few humans who has a kind heart. He accepted Mira even after she revealed her true form and she was willing to die form him just as he was for her all those years ago. Mira I grant you two more tails for your commitment to this human and I declare that his life be spared. the nine tail said with a smile. Mira bowed her head and Jaden did the same. The nine tail just nodded. After Rin was done healing Mira's injuries she and the nine tail disappeared into the shadows. Mira changed back into her vixen and bought some new cloths. After answering the shop keeper's questions she left the store and saw Jaden waiting for her. "Jaden did you mean what you said to Rin? You don't have a problem with me being a kitsune?"

"If I did wouldn't be here with you now."

Mira smiled and hugged Jaden tightly. "What did I ever do to deserve to someone as wonderful as you?" she asked. "You got chased down and almost got killed when we were 16." He said with a smirk "Oh right." she said with a giggle. The two decided to head back to the stadium and agreed that they wouldn't tell anyone about their little encounter with Rin and the nine tail.
