Chapter 6

Sakura got home late that nigh and was very tired. When she finally made it to her bed she climbed in and fell asleep in seconds. When she woke up the next morning she still felt worn out Kiyo was already eating breakfast and put a plate out for her like he always did. " So are you ready to see the town?" he asked

"Just let me finish eating then I will be. Thanks for the cloths by way" she said before taking one last bite.

"No problem" he responded. Once they were finished eating Sakura went to go get her sunglasses but Kiyo stopped her. "You don't need to wear those anymore. The residents of this town are very accepting and trust me they won't think you are a freak because of your eyes. In fact you might become very popular because of them." he said. Sakura was hesitant but she but she agreed to not wear them. As they were walking Kiyo pointed out all of his favorite places. After a few more minutes of walking they went to the park. Kiyo started to look around until he spotted the person he was looking for. "Jaden we are over here." Kiyo shouted. "What took you so long Kiyo? I have been waiting for two hours!" he spat. "That is your fault for getting here two hours early." Kiyo countered. "Good point" Jaden said. "I got three tickets the next Swift Paw concert. Do you want to go with me?" Jaden asked. "Sure but first have you my new friend Sakura?" Kiyo asked. Jaden then notice Sakura standing behind Kiyo and apologized for his lack of manners. Sakura was surprised that no one made comments or even mention her eyes. "Kiyo was right. They don't even care that I am different." Sakura thought as she shook Jaden's hand. Then suddenly there was a huge explosion. What was that? Jaden asked. "I think I know but I hope I am wrong." Kiyo said fear in his voice. "Do you think he came back?" Sakura asked. Kiyo nodded and ran to the site of the explosion. He had a strong feeling that Pyro came back to finish what he started two day ago but Kiyo was ready for him this time. Martial arts ran in his family and he was no exception. He could hold his against almost anybody human or fur. Pyro was setting cars on fire while Venus sat the roof of a across the street watching her brother have his fun. It wasn't long before Pyro picked up Kiyo's scent and stopped his assault on the city. Kiyo found the explosion site and as he expected Pyro was the cause it. "I've been looking for you human." he said with an evil grin. "And I've been waiting for you. Now tell me why you're here or I will beat the answer beat the answer out of you." he said coldly. Pyro smiled even more showing Kiyo all his razor sharp fangs. "Be careful human that sounds like a challenge" he said. "Maybe it is." Kiyo said with a smirk. "I'm going to enjoy this." Pyro said as he took a stance. Kiyo did the same. Pyro made the move by throwing a punch at Kiyo's head which he dodged easily. Before Pyro could react Kiyo punched him in the stomach and kick him in the jaw causing him to lose his balance. Venus was surprise to an eight foot dragon getting knocked on his tail by a human almost half his size. Sakura watched as Kiyo fought and held his own against the dragon. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. Pyro slashed at Kiyo with his claw and caught him by the shirt burning it on contact. Kiyo was caught off guard when Pyro hit him in the ribs with his tail. Kiyo knew that he had been burned. Sakura could smell his burnt flesh and was about to step in when a very large dragon appeared in front of Pyro and Kiyo. This dragon was 9ft 11in tall and his wing span was 6ft. His tail was 7ft long and he some kind of armor that covered his whole body except for his head and wings. His scales were black with emerald green stripes. Kiyo noticed the look of pure fear in Pyro and even saw him start to tremble. Kiyo also saw all of scars on this dragon's body and armor but what was the on the dragons shoulder scared Kiyo the most. He had what looked like teeth of some kind sown onto his armor. "Do you like my trophies human" the dragon asked as he turns around to get a better look the human. "What are they from?" Kiyo asked with fear in his voice. Perhaps I should introduce myself first. My name is Kira. I am the emperor of the reptoids and to answer you question these trophies came from the creatures called furmanoids or furs as you human call them." he said with an evil grin that sent chills down Kiyo spine. Kiyo tried to move but his body would not let him. Kira could sense Kiyo's fear and then he notice Sakura a few yards away. He looked at Venus who just nodded and went to capture Sakura. Kiyo knew he was after Sakura. "Sakura you have to get out now!" he screamed. "Don't expect anyone to rescue you this time" Pyro taunted as shot a fire ball at the corner of a building. Pyro walked over to the rubble and picked what looked like a human body. Kiyo knew it was Jaden when Pyro came back and dropped the unconscious next to Kiyo. Kiyo felt like he was in a nightmare but he knew from his bruises that it was real. Then He heard a scream and watched in horror as Venus restrained Sakura and brought her to Kiyo side next to Jaden who was still knocked out from Pyro's attack. Seeing that every thing was the way he wanted Kira pressed a talon to Kiyo throat and said "Now I'm going to give you a choice human. If you give us the fur we will kill her and let you go. If you don't give us the fur we will kill you in her place." Sakura felt like her heart was going to break. She knew Kiyo wasn't a bad person by any means but she also knew that in a life or death situation the natural instinct of any living is to survive at all costs. She couldn't blame Kiyo if he was going to let the dragons have her. There was no need to think about it given up the fur and you get to live was the only wise choice. Sakura closed her eyes and her ears were flat against her head as she waited for his answer. "So if I give her up I get to walk away unharmed and if I don't she walks away?" Kiyo asked. Kira nodded. "Well then answer is obvious. You are going to have to kill me because I refuse to let you get your claws on her." Kiyo said with a smirk. Kira was surprised by Kiyo's decision and decided to kill him quickly before he changed his mind. Sakura couldn't believe what she just heard. Kiyo just refused to give her up knowing he would die for it. "Kiyo don't do this I'm not worth it." She pleaded. Kiyo just looked at her and said "you are to me". Sakura couldn't take any more and broke down sobbing hysterically. Kiyo hated seeing Sakura cry more than anything but there was nothing he could do. Kira extended his talons and raised his paw ready to cut Kiyo's throat. Sakura tried to break free from Venus's tight grip driven by her instinct to protect the one she loved but it was no use the dragoness was too strong for her. Venus however was staring to feel bad Sakura. She knew first hand what it was like to lose the one you love and understood how the canine felt but learned a long time ago not to let sentiment to interfere with her judgment. Just as Kira's talons were mere feet from the human's throat a gunshot went off. Kira stopped and saw a small woman holding what looked a customized pistol. Kiyo and Sakura both knew who this woman was. It was Danielle Kiyo's much older and much shorter cousin. Danielle gave Kira a death glare and said "Let them go because the next shot won't miss" Kira just laughed. Do you really think your little blaster can penetrate my armor? He said with a sneer. Danielle didn't give him second warning. She shot Kira in the shoulder. The dragon roared in pain clutching his shoulder. Pyro went to assist Kira when a second human girl stepped in his way. She was wearing a black T shirt and cargo

Pants she was a little shorter than Kiyo and she carried a long staff in her left hand. "Don't think I'm just going to let you harm my cousin or my sister she said in a serious tone." Pyro took a swing at her but she simply side stepped out of and swept his feet with the staff and slammed it on his stomach effectively knocking the dragon out cold. Danielle forced Kira to the ground when she shot both of his ankles. Venus watches the fight in shock. "Let Sakura go" Kiyo told her. Venus immediately released Sakura. Kira had enough and signaled a retreat. Kira carried Pyro as he flew away but Venus stayed behind. Her necklace start to glow and all the damage that was caused by the fight was instantly repaired. With her job done she turned to Kiyo and Sakura and smiled and took off in the air and disappeared into the clouds. The first thing Sakura did was pull Kiyo into a very tight embrace. She started sobbing again and held on to him like her life depended on it. Nancy and Danielle knew they needed to be alone so the went back home. Sakura started to calm down and released Kiyo from her embrace. Jaden finally came to and Kiyo and Sakura took him home. When Kiyo and Sakura finally got home themselves Sakura took Kiyo's hand in her paws and turn so that she was facing him. Kiyo what you did for me today was so kind that it goes beyond words. All I can say is thank you. Before Kiyo could respond Sakura kissed him right on lips. The kiss only for about ten seconds before Sakura's lips parted from his. Kiyo was speechless. Sakura knew he enjoyed it the because Kiyo's face was as red as stop sign. She decide to take a nap and went to her room leaving Kiyo standing in the hall too shocked to move.
