Ch 20. Preparation

Everyone entered the house with smilies on their faces and arms full of gifts, all except Phillip's mom. She looked at Blaferis sternly. “All I'm saying is it wasn't that funny." Everyone started to burst out laughing. Sarah looked over at her husband who was trying his hardest not to laugh.

“Well Phillip's aunt thought it was." Blaferis said in defense while he placed the gifts in his arms beside the couch. The others went back out to get the rest of them but the wolf stayed to talk to Phillip's mom.

“He could have been hurt." She said.

James walked inside and was still chuckling. “It was awesome though, the way Blaferis froze just a small patch of the side walk to make uncle Eric fall on his ass when they went to leave."

Mike nodded. “Language!" His dad yelled as he came inside the house. “Though I was impressed with the way he kept freezing every drink Eric touched."

“Whatever!" Sarah huffed. “It's late and I'm heading to bed, you guys don't stay up too late."

“We won't." Phillip said. “Night." He gave his mother a kiss on the cheek just before she made her way up. Phillip's father said he was going as well and made his way up the stairs after his wife.

Phillip went over to the couch and sat beside Husvor. “See." The husky said. “We told you it wasn't going to be all bad today."

Phillip nodded. “Yeah you guys did." They all stayed up till just a little after midnight before the rest went up stairs and went to bed. Phillip curled up between his two anthros.

Phillip was having a nice sleep before he was roughly shook awake. The boy looked up to see his father looking down at him. “Hmmm?"

“There's someone at the door for you guys." His dad said. Phillip looked at him confused but started to get up. His father walked out and headed back towards the living room, Phillip looked at his phone and seen it was only a quarter till six. Phillip looked over at his wolf for a moment before he shook Blaferis and Husvor awake and told them someone was here. They both look worried but got up and slipped on a pair of pants before walking out of the room. There in the door was a man waiting patiently beside a wolf.

“How can we help you?" Blaferis asked.

The human looked at them for a second. “We need you all to gather your things and come with us."

“Why, what's going on?" Husvor asked, not liking that they have to pack up and leave so quickly.

The wolf grunted before responding. “We don't have time to stand and chat, get your things and we'll brief you on the way to base."

Blaferis nodded. “Alright..."He looked at the other two. “Let's go."

They all rushed up stairs and started to pack everything they could as quickly as they can. While getting dressed into his uniform Phillip went over and woke Scrit up and told him what was going on. The Dalmatian quickly got up and started to pack his things away after he got dressed himself.

“What's going on?" They heard from the doorway. Phillip turned and seen his mother standing in the doorway, she looked like she was still partially asleep but that still didn't keep the worried look from her face.

“I don't know." Phillip answered truthfully. “All I know is someone is here to pick us up."

“So you're leaving now?" She asked.

“Have to." Husvor responded as he slung his bag onto his shoulder and walked passed her.

Blaferis looked up and nodded before lifting his bag as well to follow the husky down the hall. Phillip and Scrit where the last ones out of the house, the other two already loaded their stuff into the SUV. Phillip placed his sword into the vehicle before running and gave his mom and dad a quick hug “I'll call you guys when I can."

“Be safe and we'll send your gifts to you guys when your available."

“Thanks." Phillip said before he ran back to the SUV.

The ride to the base was mainly in silence at first before Husvor asked them again what's happening. The wolf up front took a breath before turning around and looking at them all. “The Bragins were disappearing from heavily populated areas, just up and disappeared. So a guild sent out a small group so see if they can find out what's happening deep in the Bragins territory. Apparently they gathered into a mass army and started to march, the group was able to send spirits out to warn the guilds before most of the group got slaughtered."

“Do we know where they're heading?" Scrit asked.

The wolf nodded. “It's not confirmed but it looks like they're heading straight for the City of Light."

“What!" Blaferis yelled.

“The army is heading in that general direction, according to some scouts they're still gathering up more Bragins as they march."

Phillip could feel the anger and fear coming from his two anthros and a vision of a grand city popped into his mind. “This city is important?" He asked Blaferis.

“Yes." The wolf looked down at his human with worried eyes. “It's the capital for Users. The elders live there and is the place for all of the ports to enter at once, so everyone has access to the city. If the city is lost then this war could start going down hill for us."

“Right." The human said from the drivers seat. “Your captain contacted us to pick you four up, you're to use our portal at the base to meet up with your guild at the capital. Everyone is trying to gather there to get prepared for the attack."

“Alright" Blaferis said.

Upon arriving at the base Phillip looked out the window and seen everyone on the base was busy doing something, the human pulled up in front of the port and the group unloaded. Phillip slung his bag onto his back before following the others to the stone arch, the boy looked and seen something was different about the stone arch, instead of a blue light emitting from it like last time it was a bright yellow light this time. Before he could question it he watched at Blaferis and Husvor took off running into the arch, Phillip and Scrit quickly followed right behind. Before he knew it he was standing in a huge courtyard.

“Don't stop." Blaferis instructed. Before Phillip could ask a horse came through the arch behind him. Phillip quickly moved and caught up to the wolf, he looked behind and seen more and more anthros, hounds, and humans coming though the port. “Like I said, all ports has access to this city at once, Sorry I forgot to tell you not to stop when you get though so you wont get trampled." The wolf chuckled.

“It's okay." Phillip said, though his attention was still with taking in the area of the city. The walls were looked like marble and most of the building in the center stretched up higher then the others. A bright light could be seen from the center shining up wards into the sky. “So this city is important?" The boy asked really not seeing the importance.

Blaferis nodded. “Well the main reason isn't cause this is the capital but because of the gate." they all stopped and looked back at the huge gate that still have people coming threw. “That gate was made by elders a long time ago, and if the Bragins get a hold of that gate then they will have access to any place in your world. It was a pain when they took over and we pushed them back far enough that we re-took this city." The group continued their walk threw the city in search for their guild. “Once we took over this part we were able to get troops out to parts of your world that really needed us. It's one major reason we were able to push them back to our world."

Phillip nodded and thought about the destruction that the Bragins could cause if they did take over the city and had the port under their control.

“You know where our guild is?" Scrit asked.

The wolf shrugged. “My guess is that we'll be closer to the wall with the other elite guilds."

Phillip looked and seen that everyone was getting prepared for the massive army, he saw anthros sharpening weapons, humans making sure their guns were functioning properly. Some where getting meals ready for others while some where busy making sure other final preparations were made. One thing he could tell was everyone was worried. “Scrit?" The boy whispered.

“Hmm?" The Dalmatian looked down at the boy walking a tad bit behind him.

“I noticed that our guild doesn't use guns. Is there a reason?"

The dog smiled. “Well mainly cause we're an elite guild so we don't need them. Our element use is a higher then most other Users. If your an anthro and you want to apply for the guild you do need to go threw a small test to see your element output, if you pass then you'll be considered." Phillip nodded as the small group continued to make their way threw the crowed. Like Blaferis guessed they found their guild near the wall, apparently they will be one of the groups to encounter the forces first. They all walked up and stood at attention in front of their captain, the lion looked at them and gave them a nod before frowning.

“Blaferis, Husvor...Where the hell's your weapons?" The lion asked.

Both canines looked at the ground. “Ummm... well you see..." the wolf started.

“You know what I don't want to know." Frasit said while pinching the bridge of his muzzle and held his other paw up to stop them. “Just get your asses to the smith and get new ones..."

“Sir." The both said.

“You two…" The white lion looked at Phillip and Scrit. “go meet up with the rest of your squad. Oh and Phillip!" The lion called out.

The boy looked up at the captain. “Sir?"

The lion gave him a heart warming smile. “Congratulations on your bonding."

“Thank you sir." The boy smiled back.

Phillip and the Dalmatian took Husvor's and Blaferis's bags before the two took off to the smith. It didn't take long for them to find the squad and set their stuff with everyone else's. Phillip received lots of hugs and congratulations from everyone but he also got teased with how much work its going to be trying to keep the two in line. Of course the boy knew it was all just friendly jabs at him.

Thunder rolled into the distance, Phillip looked up at the tall wall and seen anthros and humans all lined up across it. Scrit looked up and where Phillip was looking at and frowned, he motioned Phillip to follow with a quick wave of his paw to lead him to the top of the wall. The boy looked down over the edge to see humans and anthros all working hard to get preparations done with making a new wall and setting up more defenses. He seen them work faster with the anthros using their elements to help move stones and dirt. It was when he looked off into the distance he saw mountains and trees, though unlike the sky above them that was clear as the morning sun still continued to rise, the distance sky had what looked like a horrible storm forming.

“It's the Bragins." Scrit said as he noted the storm in the distance, “They bring about death and destruction everywhere they go, and when a huge mass of them gets together the sky goes dark and a storm starts." The Dalmatian's ears folded back against his head as he kept looking into the distance as more thunder could be heard, once in a while lightning could be seen. “Come on, lets get something to eat."

Phillip didn't say anything as he followed the Dalmatian back down. As the two made their way to the line, the boy was still being welcomed back by everyone from the guild some even said congratulations on being bonded. The rest of the day went on somewhat like normal, some training and setting up tents to house the numerous amounts of humans and anthros coming into the city. It was late in the evening that Blaferis and Husvor came back with new swords strapped to their backs. The wolf came right up to his boy and picked him up off the ground and held him close. 'Mine!' Was all that was goin threw the wolf's mind.

Husvor came up and licked the boy's cheek. “We missed you..."

Phillip chuckled as he snuggled into the wolf's chest. “You guys weren't gone that long."

The wolf chuckled. “Seems like forever." He said before planting a kissing on the top of Phillip's head. The boy looked up to his wolf with a smile, Blaferis just smiled back down at him before walking with the boy still in his arms. Before he could ask the image of the two of them snuggled up close together inside one of the tents came to him. The boy just relaxed as the wolf brought him into one of the tents that he and Scrit had set up earlier that day. Husvor went over and grabbed their bedding to lay it out so the wolf could lay the boy down before unstrapping his sword. Phillip just watched as both anthros stripped off their armor and shirts before laying down close to him.

Both anthros snuggled up their human giving him light nuzzles and licks here and there. Phillip just smile when he felt that his two anthros wasn't concerned about the upcoming event. All they cared about at that moment was who was laying in their arms. 'I love you two.' Phillip thought, the warm feeling came over him as the two pressed a bit more into the boy with their bodies.

“We always will." Blaferis said before planting another kiss to the boy's forehead. “Don't worry about the battle that coming up. We will be beside you the whole time and protect you."

Husvor leaned down and nuzzled the side of Phillip's face. “For now just relax."

Phillip nodded, both anthros smiled when they did feel the boy relaxed. Phillip rolled onto his side so he was facing his wolf, with his eyes closed he slowly trailed his fingers threw the wolf furry chest. The wolf let out a soft moan while he let his human do as he pleases. Husvor just wrapped around his human and pressed his body against the boy's back. Phillip just chuckled as he opened his eyes to see the wolf smiling back at him. the boy slowly moved his fingers down the wolf's stomach and found the knot to the front of his pants. Phillip gently pulled on the string to untie them before slipping his hand into the front. Husvor trailed his claw down the side of his human, causing him to shiver as he gripped the edge of Phillip's pants and gently tugged them down. The husky softly said while getting up to kneel in front of the human.

Blaferis smiled as he watched his human show such affection. Husvor stood up and excused himself from the tent. Phillip smiled back as he moved his fingers over the wolf's pecs. Blaferis just grinned down at him but quickly looked at the entrance as Husvor came back in with a small jar in his paw.

“Think this will work." He handed the jar to Blaferis as he knelt back down in front of Phillip. the boy looked up at his husky to see him smiling down at him. The boy's eyes trailed down to the noticeable bulge in the front of the anthros pants, with a simple vision of what the husky wanted him to do, the boy rolled more onto his side as he reached up and started to undo the husky's pants. Husvor stood up and gave a stretch. “Well I'll see if i can go get us something to eat."

“Okay…" Phillip responded as he watched the husky get redressed and walked out of the tent. the moment he moved the flaps over both Phillip and Blaferis heard a bunch of hollering and whistles followed by Husvor telling whoever was outside to fuck off. Blaferis just laughed at seeing his human embraced. “Well we weren't really quiet."

“I know…" the boy groaned. “Still." Blaferis just wrapped his arms tightly around his human and pulled the boy into his chest and closed his eyes.

Captain Frasit sat uncomfortably with a handful of other guild captains and their lieutenants and sitting at the front of the group where seven figures…the elders.

“All I'm saying is that it would be unwise to deploy all troops here." The lion, looked over to the tiger that was addressing the whole room.

“But we need to defend this city!" Another captain stood up and yelled.

The tiger glared “I know that! The fact is we don't even know how big the army is and if they are all heading to this location. We should hold off on bringing two thirds of the troops for now." The room erupted in yelling and finger pointing.

“That's bullshit." One of the captain's lieutenants yelled.

Another captain stood up. “We cant afford to be attacked and then try to have that rest of the troops to try and fit through the gate at a moments notice. I understand that yes we have three elite guilds with us but we would still be out number."

“Yes I understand that, but the only thing we know for certain is that the Bragins are gathering just passed those mountains." The tiger pointed out the window to show his point, the sky in the distance was getting darker. “That's it. If we deploy everyone here that will leave the rest of this continent unprotected." Before anyone could get a word out a loud bang came over the room. Everyone froze and looked up to the elders as a horse stood.

“Captain Frasit…" His voice boomed loudly.

The white lion stood up. “Yes my lord."

“What's the situation with alerting the other guild?"

The lion took a deep breath. “80% of the guilds knows whats happening and is sending everyone they can, but it will still take a few days to get this city organized for such a vast number of Users." The lion watched as the horse sat back down in the chair.

The horse nodded. “Have everyone that knows of the Bragins gathering to report to this city, the rest will be on standby at the moments notice incase the invasion is as bad as we think it is." the other elders nodded in agreement. When all the elders stood, the whole room stood with them. All the captains and lieutenants waited till the elders where gone before moving out of the room to resume their duties.

Frasit walked along the stone floor with Bolmic close behind him. “Lieutenant…"

“Sir!" The lab responded.

“Go inform the other guilds of the orders from the elders."

“Yes sir." The dog said as he took off running to where their guild was keeping the spirits. Frasit walked into his tent and plopped down into his chair. The lion glanced down at the table where he had a map of the entire city and the lands around it. He kept his gaze on one symbol. A light blue mark placed over the center part of the wall. Where he and his men will be standing. the battle plans were going through his head and everything came down it the same result. If the Bragins makes it though the barricades that they where setting up they will run up the wall into his men.

He heated the thought but deep down he knew this battle was going to be a blood feud.
