Fall leaves swirled on the wind and spiraled around yards. The wind ripped fresh ones out of the trees and sent them chasing and skating up and down the sidewalks and roads. A small gray and purple Pikachu pounced on them as he scampered along the sidewalks laughing and enjoying the wonderful fall weather. He came to an intersection and turned down the walk he was on passing several homes on the way to his intended destination. As he neared the place he was heading he slowed up and began to move quietly spying as he went along. Eventually he reached some boxwood bushes just at the end of a yard where a large wolf worked with a rake to collect up leaves. The wolf was raking them into a pile and then putting the pile into a bag. He stopped briefly and pulled a handkerchief from his jacket pocket and wiped the sweat off of his brow before going back to work. Zyps snuck up quietly behind him and then shouted "BOO!" as loud as he could getting the wolf to leap forward in surprise. He then started dancing around happily chanting, "I scared you, I scared you, I scared you"

Aleck looked up from the pile of leaves he had collected and sighed, "Oh Zyps its only you" he then spit out some of the leaf bits in his mouth and dug around for his rake, "what are you up too by the way?" Aleck asked

Zyps shrugged, "nothing really I was kind of bored and wanted to see what chu were up too" he then leaped into the pile of leaves and thrashed around before popping back out.

"Well I think you can see pretty easily what I've been doing" Aleck said as he gathered up some more leaves, "there are just too many of these though" he sighed as he looked up at the tall maple on one side of his house and the tall oak on the other. Each tree was simply loaded down with leaves that fell in a steady trickling rate.

"I could help chu" Zyps offered "I love helping out friends as long as you promise not to flush me"

Aleck smiled, Zyps had come over several times in the past and left by the toilet each time. The funny thing was that a Pikachu was never affected by the memory wipe that the flush a fuck corps employed. "I'd be glad of the help Zyps you can hold the bag for me" he said as he began raking again.

The pair worked steadily for most of the afternoon. What should have been work quickly devolved into play with Zyps leaping into and out of the leaf pile that Aleck continually raked up. Aleck couldn't be upset with the chu after all he remembered how much fun it was to play in leaf piles when you were that size. They played like that for most of the afternoon and as evening set in Aleck invited Zyps in for a soda and some snacks. Zyps agreed and soon they were drinking soda and eating cookies while watching a simple Halloween cartoon on the television in Aleck's living room. The characters were all exploring a haunted house getting more and more mixed up as the show went on but nothing bad was happening to anyone it was simple scared silly humor.

Aleck cleared his throat and asked, "you know zyps I wanted to ask you something."

The chu looked up "yes?"

"Well this show got me thinking would you like to go on an adventure with me?"

"That would be awesome" the chu said bouncing on the couch slightly

"Oh good well it's this incredible haunted house and......" aleck was still talking but Zyps having heard the words haunted house had pulled down on his ears and screwed his eyes shut.

Zyps stayed like that till he felt Aleck tap on him, "Huh oh what" he asked

"I was asking if you wanted to go I promise it will be fun and we won't stay long"

Zyps thought about this idea for a while then slowly nodded, "yes I'll be a brave chu and go with you but you have to promise not to leave me."

"I promise Zyps, now let's get going it's very close to here"

The pair turned off all the lights and then after Aleck had gathered up his keys and jacket and two flashlights, they headed off. Aleck put Zyps on his shoulders after a while so the little chu wouldn't wear himself out. After about a fifteen minute walk and six or seven street crossings they arrived. Aleck was exited and bubbling with the thrill of exploring the place. Zyps on the other paw looked at the house with terror he didn't let his friend know he was barely controlling.

The house was old it had a large steeled roof and at least three floors. At one point it had been beautiful and likely the large windows had been open every night spilling out music and party goers. Now many of them were covered in dust, and cracks and the occasional bush that had long overgrown from its home. Zyps hid his eyes as some lightening flickered in the sky and danced around the carved upper structure of the oddly designed and dilapidated house.

"We got a good night eh Zyps?" Aleck asked without realizing that the small chu wasn't paying any attention.

Zyps felt aleck continue the walk then pause for a time before they began up a flight of steps and crossed a creaking porch to a door. The chu opened his eyes and watched as his friend opened up the door and they stepped into the house. The foyer like the rest of the place showed its age horribly dusty chairs sat in nooks books that were rotting out of their binding littered shelves. The central stairs up to the second floor were cracked and many of the posts that supported the handrail were broken or missing. Aleck patted Zyps kindly and set him on the floor.

"Come on let's go exploring" he said and then led the way deeper into the main floor.

"Uh yeah sure lets" Zyps replied with a waiver to his voice.

The walked on in silence hearing creaks and shudders as they went along. They passed an ancient conservatory. A huge and disgusting kitchen three small bathrooms that zyps didn't think even if he was desperate he would use. A solarium with huge cracked windows and overgrown and rotten vegetation. Directly after they passed the dining room they came upon a closed in swimming pool that they merely peeked in at before moving on. Aleck soon lead them upstairs and they passed by several rooms. Many bedrooms were horribly dusty and the library was in pretty bad shape.

They hadn't seen anything yet when aleck led them up to the third floor where there were few rooms but one large attic. Zyps was getting antsier and antsier as they went along. Aleck hadn't paid much attention to this and still wasn't paying attention as they entered the attic. Once they were in there Aleck found a chair and sat down to rest. Zyps sat on the floor in front of him.

"I'm scared aleck this place is scary" the chu said

"Oh come on now Zyps it's not so scary here after all it's just an old house." As soon as aleck had said that the groan of an old pipe organ began playing from somewhere deep in the house. "Okay I will admit that is a little bit odd" the big wolf said "come on lets go investigate.

They both returned to the second floor and walked along quietly until they came to the room where it the music was playing from. The music was louder here and as they peeked in Zyps ears went wild with fright and Aleck's jaw dropped. Sitting at the organ playing fit to wake the dead was a shimmering glowing fur dressed for the opera. Aleck led the way in and tried to tap on the furs shoulder. When he did his paw went right through and the fur and music faded away. Aleck came back over to join Zyps and then led them back up to the attic.

"I will admit that was a little disturbing but it's still not so bad only one haunt" Aleck said as he poked around the organ pipes.

Zyps was sitting in a chair holding his ears and his feet, "I really don't like it let's just go"

"Oh come on now Zyps it isn't so baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" aleck screamed as something stepped out of the shadows.

It was a mummy and it began to advance on Aleck as the wolf slowly stepped backwards. Zyps ran over and started to tug on Aleck's tail wanting him to follow him. The mummy kept chasing Aleck slowly backward groaning and moaning in anger and malice. Neither of our heroes noticed that the mummy was leading them to a special spot on the floor and as soon as they stepped on it the floor fell away and they slipped down through a trap door. The pair slipped down a long sloping tube that twisted and turned eventually spitting them out in the green murky pool they had seen earlier. Zyps returned up to the surface first and sloshed over to the side climbing out and shook himself off trying to get dry. Aleck came up spluttering and spurting trying to get the nasty water out of his mouth. He eventually got his bearings and took a look around. Zyps had climbed into a pool chair and was trying to find a way out of a window when he heard Aleck's shout of "NOOOOOOOOOO!" Zyps turned and was just in time to watch a shadow creature pull a rope of some sort that stretched up into the ceiling and then here the hugely amplified sound of a toilet flush. Aleck was soon swirling round and round the pool now bowl and was quickly sucked away before Zyps could even think to throw him a life preserver. As soon as the victim was flushed away the shadow creature laughed horribly and disappeared leaving Zyps terrified and all alone.

The small chu looked around terrified. He wasn't sure what to do Aleck had broken his promise and left him all alone. The chu sat there for a time until he heard the dragging of chains coming from a room they hadn't noticed earlier on the other side of the room so Zyps took off and headed out into the hall from earlier. He dashed down it avoiding floating ghosts and shrieking bats and rushed into the old dining room. He pushed hard on the doors and then finally turned around to find several skeletons seated at the large moldering table enjoying a meal. The pika didn't stay there long at all breaking the doors in his flight to find a safe place to hide. Zyps raced and raced avoiding more things like grasping hands and shrieking portraits until he found a nice safe cupboard that he climbed in to rest. While he was in there his tummy began to groan and cramp. It had been hours since the snack he and Aleck had shared and with all the running and the caffeine he had had earlier his tummy was telling him something needed to come out scared or otherwise. The terrified chu looked out of the cupboard and then he zipped across the hall to one of the bathrooms from earlier on.

Cautiously and carefully he climbed up on the seat of the old fashioned toilet and lifted the lid to find a somewhat dingy bowl with clean water. Feeling it was safe to use Zyps perched on the bowl and relaxed a little bit letting his bottom release several long and smelly logs of poop. Once he was finished with the bulk he gently tinkled and then looked around for paper. The chu found some and pulled off quite a bit before wiping himself and then pulling the chain flushing it away.

Zyps hadn't paid much attention to where the paper had come from until he heard a groaning and moaning. Turning slowly he finally saw where the toilet paper he had just flushed had come from and the small chu fell into the bowl. The mummy from earlier leered down at them then grabbed the chain and flushed Zyps down the toilet.

Zyps spun round and round and finally was sucked down his last image that of the mummy closing the lid. Zyps raced down the pipes faster and faster finally landing in a pool in a room full of light. He immediately climbed up out of the pool and was offered a towel by a familiar set of paws.

"Did you enjoy your ride Zyps?" Aleck asked

"Wait but I thought you got flushed?"

"Oh I did" aleck replied, "and so did you so do lots of others here at the haunted flush" aleck sighed "I just wish I could have lasted a little bit longer"

Zyps looked around and realized he was in a large receiving room with lots of other furs, "so none of that was real?"

"Nope it was all just good Halloween fun weren't you listening when I explained? Aleck asked

Zyps shook his head and blushed "no I was too scared"

"Oh well silly chu we had fun that's all that matters" Aleck said giving Zyps a hug "happy haloween"

"Don't you mean happy fllushoween?" the chu asked as the two friends headed home.
