Before i begin i'd like to ask that you guys leave a comment telling me what i did right, what i did wrong and how i can improve. I don't normaly like asking for stuff like this but i'm genuinely interested to see how i could improve! Thanks ~ The_Only_One
I'm walking down a path. It is surrounded by trees on either side, with the odd berry bush here and there. There is birds singing happily around me and the sun is beaming down onto me. I glance down at my body and see a younger body, shorter snout, shorter limbs and even a little belly. I'm just walking along happily, when suddenly the sun goes hiding behind some clouds. The birds stop singing, everything seems to darken. The shadows make distorted creatures, the only sound I can hear is the wind rustling leaves around me. There is some running or something behind me, it startles me and I start to run towards the forest, a clearing by the looks of it. The clearing has a big rock wall on one side and is surrounded by thick trees everywhere else. I start to whine a little and sob as I run, the shadows start to look like they are jumping out at me. I reach the clearing and I can hear people behind me, quickly I rush to some rocks that are sticking up to hide behind them. I run and duck behind the rocks. I can hear something getting closer, something rustling in the leaves on the ground as it moves closer to me. I whine louder and start to cry a little, I'm scared. "Mum?" I cry out to no one in particular. There is movement to my right and I look in that direction hopefully tail wagging lightly. "Mum!?" I ask again, slowly I walk up to where I hear the noise. The bush's leaves rustled again and I ran faster, "Mum?!" I questioned. The bush rustled again and I walked up to it, "Mum?" Suddenly a dark shadow emerged from the bush and it startled me, acting like a deer in headlights I froze. The shape turned to look at me, seeming to stare at me before it jumped towards me. I ran, I turned around and ran, that was all I could do. I turned a little and ran as fast as I could, the thing kept chasing me. "Come here, I won't hurt you!" the thing said, I looked back at him and I didn't know what to believe, so I kept running, looking at him until my foot hit something. "AHH!" I yell as I fall, my foot is killing me. I try to bring my arm up to protect my face, but I'm not fast enough, my head hits a rock and I lose consciousness.
I wake up and look around again, breathing fast and covered in sweat. As I pull myself to my feet I see I'm taller and older, my snout is longer and my hearing is better. There are more of the shadows around me, I run to the rock ledge and sit against it. The creatures come out of the shadows and into the light. I see the humans' crowd around me. I howl out loudly and some of them back up, a few even jump behind the others creating some gaps. In the distance I can hear Mum howling, "Go away!" I say whimpering lightly. I look over the humans surrounding me and see the variety with each of them. I hear mum howl so much closer than she did before and I look around panicked, I decide I need to let her know where I am so I start trying to howl, growl ANYTHING so she can tell where I am. I don't hear her do anything and I pray that it wasn't my imagination, I need her now! Some of the humans are getting too close to me, I start to worry. I howl out loudly again and that's when I see her, Mum. Mum is up on the ledge above me, silver fur slowly moving in the wind tail pointed with her fur all frisky like she's pissed. The humans seem startled at the appearance of her and back off a little. Some stupid people reach for sticks and rocks, probably to hit her or defend themselves, I don't know which one but I know it won't make a difference if they try to hurt me. She jumps down and lands in front of me, "It's ok you just need to wake up." "Mum?" I reply confused, "WAKE UP!" she says turning to me. "I can't, I don't know how!" I argue back. She turns back around and growls to the humans who were getting close. "Try, do anything!" I look around but the area is bare, nothing to use! "HOW!?!?" I'm crying a little at this point. At that point some bright spark decided to throw a rock at my mum. That was their last mistake, "Then shut your eyes and look away, I need to do something." I do as she instructs and I hear a loud howl as I keep facing the rocks. I try to block out everything but someone comes up behind me and puts a stick around my throat. "Stop or I'll hurt this... thing!" he states and I get swung roughly to face my mum who was growling viciously at one of the humans. As soon as she turns to face the voice she relents "Folvos?" I see someone coming up behind her, "MUM! BEHIND YOU!" is all I can say before someone creeps up behind her and hits her on the head with his stick. I watch as they keep hitting her limp body before I feel a pain in the back of my head and pass out.
Opening my eyes there is a pain in my head, my eyes dart around and I'm surrounded by humans in lab coats. "WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY MUM?!?!" I scream and start to bounce around in my shackles. I hear a gun cocking behind me and I feel something hard and cold press to behind my ears. "Wait!" a feminine voice cries out, "I can just knock him out, you don't need to do that!" "You've seen what his species can do to us, they need to be killed on sight!" a rough deep voice calls out, "Maybe we can find out what makes them so dangerous, the Vailed dream can do more than reveal memories and dreams!" the feminine voice says again. I thrash against my constraints again and growl as one moves a bit closer. "Fine, but if I don't get the results I want then it'll be you in his place." The deep voice growls again as he moves the gun from my ears and walks away, after a bit I hear a door slide open and shut again. Slowly I look around what I can with that dome still on my head. I catch sight of the lady that was controlling the dials, she seems to be looking at her panel, occasionally shooting glances at me with sorrow in her eyes. "I didn't want to do that" She says and I recognise her voice as the one that talked the other man into walking away.
I just grumble expecting the worst, so far these humans had been mostly bad, attacking me, causing me so much pain and threatening Rose and I. "Again, I'm sorry that I had to put you through that, I didn't want to do it but it's hard when they have the ones you love locked up and held at gun point." This catches my attention, I feel my ears flicker a little inside the helmet and I'm glad she obviously wasn't looking. "What do you mean?" I question her wirily, "They stormed my house one night, stole me and my parents then trained me to use these damned machines. Told me to use them how they want or my parents wouldn't live long, what choice did I have?" she stated and I could hear some hatred in her voice. I glance at her and see her fist tightly clenched as she works, "On a positive note I can undo your restraints, IF, and that's a big IF, you promise not to hurt me. I know I don't mean much to them but if you get loose they'll kill your friend in the monitor and then kill you. Don't think of that as a threat but I don't want you to lose your friend if she's so important to you."
I glare at her and she slowly walks towards me, I watch apprehensively but I don't move until she has taken off my straps and the helmet thing. Slowly I get up, "Hey, I said I didn't want to put you through that machine because I knew it would cause you a tone of pain, and if I resist then they'll kill my parents." She states moving her hands up in an 'I didn't mean to' way. I relent a little, "Ok, so what did you 'need' to do now?" I ask a little curious myself, "This one shouldn't hurt at all if you're worried about that, follow me please," she states and starts to walk to one of the doors.
"You just dodged my question." I say and start to follow a little closely, "Oh, sorry, we are just going to take a scan of your body, see some different things about your body. It's painless, like and x-ray but only with more detail if you know what an x-ray is." She replies absent minded and continues to walk down to a room across from that torture chair "Hey, you never gave me your name." I question her, wanting to know "Oh, how rude of myself. My name is Megan." Megan states seeming to become more 'here' and with me after I've asked the question. We walk into a decently sized room and inside of it is a large cylinder with a plastic bed attached to a rail system. "Please lie down. I'm supposed to strap you down but if you lie still I won't, deal?" Megan questions and I nod my head moving over to the bed. She moves over to the monitor and control panel with a few steps and she boots them up. Lying on the bed she walks over, "You haven't got anything metal or electronic on you do you?" she asks as she pushes the bed into the tube. "Nope," I state. Once I'm fully inside the machine, Megan walks back to the panel. I hear some whirring and my fur starts to become fluffy, like when you rub a balloon against it and keep it close. "Interesting." Megan states and then the machine starts making various other noises, such as higher and lower pitched whirs and even a few revs. After a while it starts to power down and I feel myself being pulled out by Megan. A voice booms through a speaker system installed into the roof, "All subjects to return to rooms for dinner and lights out." "I guess that means you need to go back to your room, follow me." She started to walk through the hallways and I follow her throughout until we reach some areas that look a little familiar. A door slides open and I walk into my room, "Good night!" Megan calls out as the door starts to shut. I look around my small white room, "I miss home..." I say absent minded as I crawl onto my bed.
I look around and notice a small control panel next to a panel in the wall. I walk over to it as curiosity and start to play with the dials. I turn one dial and my room slowly changes colour, pushing another button and suddenly it looks like I'm underwater. I hold my breath for a bit before I can't anymore and start gasping, I expect to take in a mouthful of water but I only get air. Slowly I walk along the sandy looking floor and press another button. My room seems to expand and shift, trees start forming and a forest slowly appears around me. I look around not believing what I can see, forests all around. I walk over to a tree and put my paw onto it. I feel the bark, the uneven rough texture, and it reminds me of the forest from home. I look around and eventually I walk back to the panel, I spend ages toying with each of the switches, buttons and dials before I set it up to the way I want: Thick forest, light snow, low branches and some scattered wildlife. I walk away and clamber up some of the lower branches and start to climb throughout the forest. I slowly reach upwards, pulling myself up through the branches. The branches are getting thinner and thinner the higher I get but I want to climb, so I do, it becomes difficult but eventually I break through the canopy of the trees. I look around, holding onto some branches and balancing on one of my hind paws. I'm surrounded by blue skies and trees, I know that the box is only about 10 meters by 10 meters but it looks like it extends so much further. I feel my stomach growl and I start to climb down through the branches, looking for any tracks some of the other animals may have left.
