Rough Patches -- Chapter 3 -- Part One -- {Rocky Relationships}
#9 of The Beginning
Author's Notes:
Well, I've dropped the recap, because I'm not really good at the intro things and narrative comments at the end and start. But here, I think I've rushed this a bit. Since, it's quite short, I don't want to strain myself since I've been roleplaying recently and I don't want my juice to flow. So here, I've actually started to make the story drive more to its dramatic and romantic stages, as I've promised.
Character Specie Guide:
Raiki Kizu - Luxray
Jason Alexander - Lucario
Guren Kagayaku - Gardevoir
Kiyoshi Kitsune - Ninetails
Kanpeki Kagakayu - Gallade
Maverick Knightwalker - Nincada
Time stopped as the two clashed, with a fatal end, an electric grip transpiring onto the Ninetales' heart. Crimson optics dilated as he gazed over the brutally and severely blow onto his chest, as gasp of exclamation and fear engulfed Kiyoshi as his right eye twitched in pain. The helpless Lucario only stood and gazed at the event, a cold sweat breaking heavily as the liquid opened his pores in fear of what he saw. It was an inevitable occurrence, Jason had decided, and to see someone die like this wasn't a usual thing After all, he had seen death most of his life, scattered throughout everyone he had met.
'I shouldn't have come.. this is all everyone around me gets. Death!' A mental scream pleaded for a reprieve, as he saw Kiyoshi's visage and the puppeteer's malicious intent. Jason tried to ward of everything, he closed his eyes shut, hoping that this was all a bad dream. He wanted to be in the custody of his uncle, he had hoped when he woke up, he'd be preparing for school again, and none of this would happen. The Lucario took a peek at what seemed to be the whole horizon being shattered like glass.
There was nothing but d a r k n e s s.
Jason could not breathe, his lungs failed to inhale a vital need. It seems as if.. has he died? These thoughts swirled across the teenager's head as flashes of memories bewildered him. Just then a familiar voice called out to him.
"You can wake up now." the voice called, following to Jason's eyes to become wide open in shock. He looked up and saw the blonde warrior holding the half-naked and bruised Raiki by the hair as he knelt before the Ninetales, victorious. The raven-haired Luxray seemed to be unconscious, and defeated. Jason took a gander at the powerful being, seeing no traces of blood, and no gaping hole upon his chest. What had happened during his short hysteria? Why had the tables turned?
"W-What ha-happened?" Jason asked, still shaken up from the events.
"You disobeyed my orders, Jason-kun. If you really want to join my ranks, you need to follow orders." Kiyoshi looked back, smiling as if he was giving the male advice. "But, sometimes disobeying orders can be fruitful. He didn't plan to kill me, but he was aiming for you. So he went on and possessed Raiki, it's very unnerving." Kiyoshi's fingers still wrung around the Luxray's strands of hair. He then nudged his arm back and slapped the male's forehead with his palm, proceeding to the wake of Raiki. The glow on his star tattoo had faded away, seeming that the spirit has gone away. Raiki's eyes widely opened as he coughed out drops of saliva, as he gasped for air. The male's body relaxed seconds after fainting once more, slowly heading face first into the ground. Kiyosh had caught him before his face met proximity onto the ground as he carried him over his arms then passed onto a tail that appeared under his pants.
"How did you... survive?" Jason asked, still flabbergasted, not minding the words said to him. He could have cared less if the spirit wished to kill him, he's faced death in the face several times and he needn't worry about such things. "Not that I.. worried. But.. I just want to know."
Kiyoshi's eyelids closed as he sighed, reopening them once more to reveal the black sclera that formed on his eyes. The Eyes of Samsara had been reactivated once more, as he gave the Lucario a slight glare, not out of spite but of seriousness, something that was rare of Kiyoshi to do. Jason was strikingly shocked as he was given a blood curdling stare. "You didn't think I'd die that easy, didn't you?" Kiyoshi smiled, his eyes closing into a chuckle, as his playful demeanor had returned once more.
"I merely.. passed through the slates of existence. I twisted reality. I changed fate. That's all I can say, really. It's hard to explain." Kiyoshi gave himself a light chuckle as blinked, following his eyes to revert back to a normal state. The smile of Kiyoshi was very well maintained, as if he hasn't given a sincere smile in a while now., he had to take a gander at Jason, seemingly trying to remember something. Something he had been lacking for awhile now... it was something he had lost for awhile. The male turned, reaching out his hand, crimson eyes gazing blissfully onto his'. "Can you walk?" Both eyes closed in sly happiness, a curved smile of relief filled the fox's face.
'A heart of gold.. a pure mind, a brave soul. That's not what you see everyday. If only I had these qualities.. no one would ever die. Not on my watch.' Thoughts ran over the Ninetales'
'Maybe.. he isn't bad as I thought.' A slight pink formed over Jason's face as blood rushed due to the unexpected personality shift of the higher up. Jason gave a smile of his own as he reached for his ivory fingers, grasping them as he helped himself up and dusted himself off. The lone fox headed off as soon as he finished with supporting the Lucario. Jason had thought this man was nothing but a cold a ruthless killer, bent on nothing but the pleasure of human destruction.
"Death.." He said to himself, as his power to read and sense the thoughts of anyone by tracking down the tapestries of their aura. For the first time, he felt Kiyoshhi's feelings as his own, and saw through him quickly and without blur. "I couldn't sense his aura before.. did he open up to me on purpose?" Jason asked himself, feeling a bit of pride to the honor he has received. If what the others say is true, then he might have earned the privilege that Raiki has gained. It made him feel a bit better inside, knowing that he could be accepted into this community. Without hesitation, the Lucario sped up and headed back to the Bureau with the Ninetales.

{ 4:30 PM BUREAU HOSPITAL WARD }
Kiyoshi exited the room, as sliding doors closed behind him, sighing still a solemn expression on his face. His gaze met Jason and Guren's as he gave them a reassuring smile. "Raiki's going to be fine, the nurse said he's going to be released tomorrow, but he'll miss your morning classes." the Ninetales' explained still with a smile on his face. "Now, I'm needed elsewhere, so if you'll excuse me." Kiyoshi bowed, one arm tucked behind his back as he turned and left the two.
"I should be going too, Jason. It's getting a little late. I just can't believe what happened here." She remarked, as she shook her head in disappointment. "This was supposed to be a tour for you, it shouldn't have turned into this." She said, a concerned look on her face.
"It's no worries, really." Jason reassured, a smile forming on his face. "My uncle's probably wondering where I am, right now, so I should go as well." He said as he quaintly said his goodbyes and left the hallway. Now, Guren was alone in the well-lit hallway, wondering if things will go well for this year.
'Please let this not be a start of something bad.' The gardevoir thought to herself, as she gazed up on the ceiling and continued her leave afterwards.

{ PAPER MOON BAR 7:46 PM }
The bustling bar, the Paper Moon was an esteemed all-around bar, filled with prestigious men and women of Shinzuku City, mainly, the higher ups and celebrities. It was a 5-Star restaurant as well in the morning and a luxurious lounge and bar at night. There, at the bartender's place, a blonde male sat as he drank another glass, abruptly placing it near the bartender once more.
"Double." He asked, his eyes becoming droopy by the second.
"Sir, are you sure you can handle this? You do have an esteemed position, sir. Wouldn't want to tarnish that reputation with drunken madness." The bartender asked, his concerned face worried about the male as he poured him another bottle of whiskey.
"Yeah.. I'll be fine." Upon closer speculation, the male was none other than Kiyoshi himself. "I've just gotten through a rough day."
Just then the doors opened, and a tiny bell had resounded. The bartender, who seemed like a normal one had gazed at the male who entered as he took out a towel from under his drawers and placed them onto his arm. The bartender exited his stand, and approached the guest as if he knew him. "You're back so early, young master." he said after bowing in his presence.
"Let Maurice-san take your position, I need to get to back home today with you, Maverick." the male said, as the bartender who was also his butler went and made the preparations his master had ordered him to do. He then approached Kiyoshi onto the bar, with a hand on his hip. His crimson eyes glared pitifully onto the drunken blonde, blinking in disdain.
"Oh.. you're early." The blonde hiccuped, as he chuckled lightly. "Don't worry, I'm still sober... Kanpeki." he remarked as he gave the male a sly smile.
Kanpeki, the eldest of the Kagayaku's heirs was the also the owner of the Paper Moon and several business properties all over Shinzuku. A lush eyebrow rose as he sat beside him, his scarlet optics enacting a serious glare at the blonde. "You're out drinking again? You're such a horrible excuse for a man, drowning all your problems in alcohol. You already have a significant decrease in your spirit, yet you persist on torturing yourself." a quick connection of words as an eloquent tongue scolded the drunkard.
"Heh.." the blonde scoffed. "Here I was thinking you were done caring for me." Kiyoshi's gaze looked away from Kanpeki's as a smile formed onto his face.
A pink tint overwhelmed the swordsmaster as his eyes widened in embarrassment. "You must be joking, you idiot." a cold response, as he kept his composure. "I just don't want one of the Tengoku to be out on the streets, disorienting himself and acting as if he isn;t a high officer. It's a disgrace to our name, Kiyoshi. And I expect you to be in pristine quality in and out of duty! Yet you insist on tarnishing our reputation with this.. this.. impudence!" The male vented out, as he shouted loudly. Kiyoshi seemed to be ignoring the man's wishes, as he only gave him another smile.
Kanpeki's eye twitched as another feint blush appeared on his cheeks. "Are you even listening?! This is why I never stuck with you, you.. selfish idiot!"
Kiyoshi's smile faded as he stood up from his stool, looking unamused. The blonde then grabbed the male's wrist as he dragged him across the room, and into the men's comfort room. "Oi! Wh-What're you doing?! Let go, Kiyoshi!" Kanpeki shouted, as he tried to struggle out of the male's grasp. Kiyoshi then pushed Kanpeki in the bathroom and locked the door behind him. Kiyoshi's eyes were emotionless as he pinned the male onto the wall, grasping his wrist and slamming it against the tiles. Crimson eyes gazed over mutual optics, as Kiyoshi's gaze deepened and intensified. Kanpeki could only stare at him, helpessly.
"You don't know.. how much you hurt me.." An exasperated breath of hot air enveloped the male's neck, his voice cracking in sadness as he gripped tighter onto his wrist. The male's voice was low, as if he was attempting to permanently get rid of the Gallade.
Kanpeki's eye twitched, as he grasped onto the blonde's clothing, feeling the stress onto his wrist. "K-Kiyoshi.. you're hurting..--" The male managed to gasp out, his head leaning heavily onto the wall, trying to suppress the pain he felt. His wrist over his head, his upper torso exposed like an animal ready for skinning, it was as if his body was always poised to be like this in front of the dominant Kiyoshi. Kanpeki only felt anger as he was hurt.
'Kiyoshi.. you..' Kanpeki's thoughts were disoriented, his feelings being meld into the fray. A slight blush forming onto his face.
"Deep inside.. you still care about me." Kiyoshi said lowly, his crimson eyes still gazing over the other's as his grip loosened a bit. A scarlet color was tainted all over his face, as if he was splattered with blood. It was unclear if it was his intoxication or that he was madly in love with the male, none could tell. Kiyoshi's calm visage had been broken so quickly by this man.
"Don't be stupid!" Kanpeki growled out, green eyebrows creasing in a bitter rage. The Gallade gnashed his teeth in spite as he just gave the Ninetales a locked door to his heart of ice. "Why're you so.. so desperate!" he exclaimed. "I'm not going to fall for you, not anymore. Not what you've done to me, you sick bastard! I'm not falling for you, because you'll never catch me! Aren't I right?!" A flurry of words continuously barked out, saliva spitting in directions onto the blonde's face. The cool and elegant demeanor the Gallade once had had been destroyed in a moment's notice. His face in disarray, strands of lush green hair falling downwards to obscure his eyes.
Kiyoshi paid no heed to his words, and just slowly closed in on Kanpeki's proximity as he locked lips into a tender kiss. Kanpeki's eyes scrunched up in disagreement as he attempted to push away the alcohol-ridden male but he was too heavy. Just then, his eyes opened wide, brows creased in anger. His fist curled up into a ball, energy resonating from it as streams of light both purple and blue erupted from his fist as he delivered a powerful punch onto the cheek of Kiyoshi which sent him flying sideways, and flat on his back. The blonde could only look at the ground in shame of what he's done, as he sat there silent.
The bathroom door then rustled as the person outside seemed to be jingling some keys as he opened the door. As the door opened, it revealed Kanpeki's butler, Maverick. "What happened here?!" he exclaimed as his gloved hand prepared an orb of darkness; a Shadow Ball as he prepared to fire it at his master's assailant.
Kanpeki then took ahold of his butler's wrist as he shook his head. 'Don't." he growled out. "I've dealt with him, let's go." Kanpeki then to the arm of his butler as they both left the scene.
