The Human empire of Varennia has closed its borders and have begun mobilizing their military forces while the Vius'Karr of Luen, a race of anthropomorphic canines, have found themselves forced to respond in kind. Alliances on both sides are quietly being formed in anticipation of the first global war in nearly three-hundred years. All it will take is a single spark to set the world aflame.

When Matthew Roth, whose nightly profession as a specialized hacker, known as a Realm Runner, is approached by a high-paying client to perform some routine corporate espionage, he doesn't bat an eye.
