The Howl in the Night
Chapter 3
"Watch out!" called out Jacob as he collided with Amy from behind. The two tumbled down the incline plane of snow. As they came to a stop the two teens groaned and looked at each other before breaking out in a fit of laughter.
Amy looked over at Jacob before lying back down in the snow giggling like a madman, "Thanks for the warning," before reaching over and slapping his shoulder.
"Ow, hey, I called out," Jacob giggled back while rubbing his shoulder.
The two untangled themselves from each other and their ski equipment before standing up. Their ski instructor came over and checked them for injuries before giving them a few pointers on how to stop in case of colliding with other skiers.
A snap of a twig in a nearby bush caught Jacob's attention. He moved over to it and brushed aside a branch to see a paw print in the snow. He looked up into the shadows of the tree to see a large dog-like shape with a pair of yellow glowing eyes staring back at him. Fear overcame Jacob as he stared into the inhuman eyes until he felt a hand grab his shoulder. Jacob yelled out and turned around to see a surprised Amy standing there.
"Whoa, what's wrong?" she asked as she put her hands on his shoulders to calm her friend down.
Jacob pointed toward the bushes and stuttered out, "T-there's an a-animal in there."
Amy walked over and peered into the bushes before Jacob could stop here. She turned around shrugged, "Well, whatever was there is gone now."
Jacob looked to were the animal was and noticed it really was gone; he swallowed and nodded, "Um, y-yeah, I guess."
Amy put a hand on Jacob's shoulder, "Come on, let's get going, it's getting dark, lets head to the lounge."
After Jacob nodded in agreement, the two headed over to the tow line that took them back to the resort. After unloading their gear they preceded to the lounge, there they found David trying to get the phone number of some girl. As they got closer they saw the displeased look on the girl's face, then in the blink of the eye her hand flying up to smack David across the face. Both Jacob and Amy broke out laughing as they watched the girl storm off and took their seats beside David who was rubbing his cheek.
"What was it this time?" asked Amy who was whipping away an imaginary tear.
David shot a glare at her, "Asked if she was from Tennessee," he grumbled before both Amy and Jacob broke out into another fit of laughter.
Jacob looked around the massive room and looked at the other costumers of the resort. The room was decorated in log cabin like style with couches, chairs, and tables in various places. To one side was a series of windows from the floor to the ceiling showing a deck, that overlooks the forest. On two sides of the room were two staircases that led up to a balcony that twisted around the room. Two large fire places filled the room with warmth, one along the wall on the second floor, another in the center of the room.
Jacob listened to his friends chat for a little while before rising, "Hey, I'll be back, going to get my book and read by the fire." His friends waved him bye as he headed to the elevator to his floor. After retrieving his book from his room, he began to make his way back to the lounging area. As he turned a corner he collided into a wall of flesh. As he fell backwards the wall's arms grabbed ahold of him and hold me close.
"Well, hello again, Jacob, right?" came the familiar voice of the man from the resort's store. Jacob's eyes roamed form the man's chest up to his blue-green eyes that filled him with the same feeling as before, fear and excitement.
Jacob nodded and swallowed the lump that formed in his throat, "Y-yeah."
The man smiled wide as he rubbed his thumbs into Jacob's hips, who then let out a little gasp which made him smile wider. "Well, it's good that my memory is still a hundred percent," he said before taking in another deep breath threw his nose.
Jacob took a deep breath himself and was assaulted by the man's own sent. An earthy yet spicy sent that made Jacob want to lean into the man and breathe in more, a sent that seemed to awaken a more primitive part of him. Then Jacob's rational mind stepped in and alerted him to a rising problem below the belt. Jacob stepped back and out of the man's grasp which mad him frown only for a second before being replaced by his confident smile.
"So, where you heading?" asked the man as he moved next to Jacob and put a hand along the small of his back to guide him toward the elevator.
Jacob took shaky steps, "Um, b-back to the lounge, w-was getting my book," he said holding up his book.
The stranger grabbed ahold of the book and looked at the cover, "Hm, The Hobbit, a classic, nice." After looking it over once more he held it out for Jacob while pressing the call button for the elevator.
Jacob nodded, "Um, thanks." He reached out and took the book before stepping onto the elevator. He turned back around to see the stranger standing there, watching him, as if looking him over. Jacob's heart rate picked up as he looked into the man's eyes and say want. A blush filled his cheeks as he shifted from one foot to the other. He raised his hand to press the button to the floors when the stranger interrupted him.
"Oh, and forgot to give my name, I'm Marcus, Marcus DeWolf," he smiled widened as he watched Jacob's response to his surname. He held out his hand to the young man to prolong their interaction.
Jacob's jaw was hanging open as he looked at one of the members of the wealthy DeWolf family. "Um, n-nice to meet you s-sir," he said as he felt a spark shoot up his arm after grasping the Marcus' hand.
Marcus the let go and reached over go of his hand and reached over and pressed the button for the floor the lounge was on. "See you around Jacob," he said giving the younger man a wink while the doors closed.
Jacob looked down at his hand, the tingling feeling from the spark still remaining. A part of Jacob missed Marcus' hand holding his, his hands holding him. "What's going on here," he said out loud, he's never felt like this before. The excitement of his stare and the sparks from their touch, it's never happened before. He pushed the thoughts away as the elevator dinged and the doors opened. He headed over to where his friends were sitting and took a seat next to the fireplace and opened his book, diving into the book to ignore the nagging feelings that were stirring inside him.
****************************************************************
Marcus looked down at Jacob from his place on the balcony in the lounge. He wanted to run his fingers through the boy's hair, to just loose himself in those blue eyes. He's never felt a hunger like this before, a hunger for one person. He thought back to when he first caught his sent earlier that day.
He was walking through the resort, looking the place over to see if it's prepared for the high school graduates. As he headed down one hall he came across a herd of young people came charging down chattering about what they planned on doing while they were at his family's resort.
As the mass of young adults passed him he caught something in the air, a sent that he couldn't put a finger on, the closes thing he could peg to describe it was cinnamon. Marcus turned to look for the source but saw only a couple of girls giggling and looking away as they ducked into their rooms or boys fist bumping. The sent buried itself into his memory and wouldn't leave, he growled in annoyance at missing the source of the sent.
Then his attention was drawn to his phone beeping and alerting him to a message. He looked at the messenger's ID and growled in annoyance again, his father needed his presence. He made his way to his father's office to listen to another of his father's rants about his rebellious behavior.
Marcus just couldn't find it in him to listen to his father like a mindless robot like the rest of the pack. He wanted to treat everyone as his equal and respectfully, but his father only saw other's as beneath him and that that is where they should remain. And because of disagreements like that, Marcus' father saw it fit to punish him.
An hour of yelling later about how to punish a waiter that accidently spilled a drink on a customer in one of the restaurants, Marcus walked into the resort's store and the cinnamon sent wafted past his nose. Marcus' eyes scanned the room full of people before he went hunting. He traveled up and down several aisles, closing his eyes he let his senses to lead him to the scent's source.
Then he collided with a smaller person, Marcus' eyes shot open to look down and see the kid before him stumbling backwards. His arms shout out and wrapped his arms around the young man and something inside of him clicked. Like the boy belonged there in his arms, and the scent of the boy, it was the source. Marcus opened his eyes and looked down at him and smiled in satisfaction.
"Whoa there, you ok?" Marcus asked as he looked down at the mop of brown hair. The kid looked up at him and his beautiful blue eyes captured Marcus' blue-green eyes. He could feel the boy shiver as he stared back in Marcus' eyes and hear his heart pick up in fear or excitement, he couldn't tell. After a few seconds Marcus had to end the staring contest, "You ok?" he asked.
The youth crooked out a 'yeah' before taking a step out of Marcus' arms who felt disappointment at losing his grasp on the boy. He was about to ask if he need help with anything else when a red headed girl yelled out for him. 'Jacob, a wonderful name for this site,' Marcus thought to himself. The girl temporarily gained his attention before he turned it back on Jacob. As much as he didn't' want to, he decided to leave and let the boy enjoy his day...for now.
After leaving Marcus headed to his personal quarters and undressed himself till he had no ounce of clothing on. He stepped out onto his balcony and closed his eyes and opened the dark corners of his mind, a place where his most primitive parts dwelled. The beast in those corners began to come out and the change began.
Marcus felt his skin crawl which turned into itching sensation. Marcus began to take deep breaths as his hands reached up to scratch at his skin. His nails began to elongate turning the scratching into clawing and ripping of his flesh. Underneath a layer of fur was growing to replace the skin that was being ripped away. He could feel pressure building in various parts of his body until it popped painfully. The popping and shifting of his bones was making Marcus grunt and growl in pain, bringing him to his hands and knees. His face began to elongate and turn into a muzzle like a dog's. His spine elongated as a tail emerged from his backside as his ears shifted to the top of his head.
When Marcus' eyes opened, the transformation was finished and a new creature has taken Marcus' place. The new Marcus stood up on two legs and looked at himself in the one way mirrors of his glass doors, his yellow eyes looked over his anthropomorphic wolf body. His black fur shined against the sunlight as the six-three man turned into a seven foot tall monster that has been sunken into mythology. He raised his wolfish nose into the air and took in a deep whiff of the air and murred out in satisfaction as he picked up Jacob's scent in the wind.
He jumped off the balcony and reached out a clawed hand to grab onto the trunk of a nearby tree and slid down to the foot of the tree. He closed his eyes and then pictured himself changing again. He dropped down to his hands again as his body began to shrink and his clawed hands turned into paws. When his eyes opened again, he was a large black wolf before bolting deeper into the woods. He followed the sent up the hill until he heard a familiar voice.
He crept up to the edge of the tree line and saw Jacob slide into the girl from the store. After watching them recover from their fall and get a few more lessons from the ski instructor, Marcus took a step closer and accidently stepped on a twig. He noticed Jacob looking over in his direction; Marcus froze when the boy's eyes laid on him. Marcus then filled with worried as Jacob's eyes filled with fear and quickly retreated away. After running around for a little bit he decided to headed back to his room.
When he entered his room he saw something that repulsed him. Lying on his bed was a half-naked woman, one that has been pursuing him for years since their first change. Her long blond hair rested over her naked chest, her green eyes looked off into the distance until she noticed him. Marcus let out a growl as she smiled wide at him.
"Hi Marcus, I um, saw that your room was open and let myself in," she purred out. She slid off the bed and over to Marcus and slide a finger over his furry chest.
Marcus grabbed her wrist and pushed her away. "Don't touch me Victoria, and get out of my room, now," he growled out.
Victoria frowned a little and gave him a puppy look, "Aw, but I wanted to play with the big bad wolf." Her smile returned and her hand reached down to between Marcus' legs.
Marcus let out a louder growl and grabbed her wrist again and her neck and squeezed both making her whimper. "Try and touch me again tramp and I'll rip your throat out," he then pushed her away again and closed his eyes.
He concentrated on the beast he let out of his mind and mentally pushed it back into the dark parts of his mind. The bones of his body began to pop and shift again, his tail shrinking into his back, his ears returning to the sides of his head, and his face shrinking back into his face. His fur began to fall off his body and reveal tanned human skin. After he opening his eyes his transformation was complete and he was human again.
"Get out Vic," he ordered once again. He watched her get up and put her shirt back on and leave his room.
After getting dressed, he heading out into the hall, he walked around for a bit until he collided with someone again. Right away, his nostrils were filled with the scent of cinnamon, realizing that it was Jacob. His arms wrapped around the younger man and held him close again.
Marcus looked down at the brown hair and tried to hold in a moan of pleasure. "Well, hello again, Jacob, right?" he asked already knowing the answer. That started a nice little conversation that Marcus enjoyed quite a bit, especially when he smelt the boy's arousal. Marcus escorted him to the elevators and told Jacob he'd tell him he'd see him around.
