Chapter 4

"KEVIN..."

Kashito and Aiden ran through the woods as fast as their legs would carry, calling for Kevin and following his trail.

"Fuck! Where could he be?" Kashito swore.

"Relax. He's only a few minutes ahead of us. We'll find him." Aiden said.

Suddenly, a scream echoed through the woods. The voice was unmistakably Kevin's.

"Come on!" Aiden said.

Aiden picked up Kashito and ran off at vampire speed. The screaming led them to a small river, and standing over Kevin, beating him, was a panda.

"YOU BASTARD!" Aiden roared with malice.

Before he made a move, a streak of orange fur struck the panda. The streak of fur attacked the panda again and again, making the panda scream in pain.

"What the hell?!" Kashito said.

The streak stopped on the far side of the river long enough for Aiden to catch a glimpse of who it was.

"HOLLY?!" Aiden said.

He was right. It was Kevin's mother, brandishing a sword with a blue grip. She growled menacingly at the panda.

"STAY AWAY FROM MY SON!" Holly bellowed.

She cleaved the panda from neck to nuts, the panda exploding in ashes. She ran to Kevin, who lay on the ground spitting up blood.

"Kashito! Aiden! Come here!" She called.

Kashito and Aiden did as they were told and joined her across the river. She placed a hand on Kevin's forehead and opened his eyes.

"Kevin...He's dying. One of his broken ribs must have punctured a vital organ." Holly said. "We need to heal him now. Aiden carry him back to the house."

"But I-" Aiden started.

"Kashito and I will be right behind you. Now GO!" She ordered.

"Yes Ma'am." Aiden said and took off.

"Kashito, do you know any speed spells?" Holly asked.

"A few, but they're only good for short bursts." Kashito said.

"Recite the spell IANE KASHITO. Then take off for my house. GO!" Holly said.

"Yes Ma'am." Kashito said. "IANE KASHITO!"

With that, Kashito took off like a lightning bolt into the woods toward the house. Holly sheathed her sword and searched the female panda who was coming to. Holly grabbed the panda's throat and hissed.

"Why did you attack my son?" Holly demanded.

"Fuck you tiger bitch." The panda cursed.

Holly punched the panda hard in the face, making the panda yelp in pain. Holly pulled the panda's face close to hers.

"I swear I will make your death slow and fucking painful if you don't answer me. Now I will ask again: why did you attack my son?" Holly Said.

"The...The Master ordered the chosen one's death, along with his friends death. We were just doing what we were told! Please don't kill me! I don't wanna die!" The female panda pleaded.

"I will not kill you. I will, however, have you send a message to your master. Tell him, that now, he has a tiger mother to deal with, and she is pissed." Holly growled with a smile. "And I'll know if you follow. Now get the Fuck out of my territory."

She threw the panda into a tree, shattering the tree on impact. The panda ran off into the woods, fearful of the tiger's vengeance. Holly spit at the ground then recited the speed spell, taking off for her house. When she got there, Kevin was awake, screaming in pain and being held down by Kashito and Aiden.

"What do we do? My spells won't heal him!" Aiden said.

"He's been attacked by dark magic, so only Dark magic can heal him. Hold him down." Holly ordered.

Kevin struggled against being held down, screaming and crying in pain. Holly placed a hand on each of his shoulders and closed her eyes.

"Kevin...be still my son...KAER HIUGA ALIE SERE." Holly whispered.

Black shadows flowed from her fingertips and touched every injury. Every broken bone snapped back into place, every bruise healed, every punctured organ healed. Kevin relaxed after a few minutes and fell asleep.

"He'll be fine. He'll sleep for awhile now." Holly said, removing her sword from her belt.

"You're a Chosen one?" Kashito said.

"Yes, I promise to answer your questions when Kevin wakes up." Holly said, smiling as she held her son in her arms.

A few hours passed as Kevin slept. Day turned into night, and one by one the stars showed themselves across the night sky. Kevin stirred finally and awoke to his mother's smiling face.

"Mom!" Kevin said, then hugged her.

"It's okay honey. Your safe now. The panda's are gone." Holly said with a smile.

"Pandas! Where are they!?" Kevin said, panicking.

"Relax. Breathe." She said.

"What happened? I remember passing out and hearing a voice. Was that you?" Kevin asked.

"Yes honey, it was me. I saved you from them. You aren't the only one with magic talents." His mother said.

"You're a...chosen one?! Oh my heads spinning." Kevin said. "So how old are YOU?"

"I've been alive for a thousand years, if you must know." Holly said.

"Why did those pandas attack me?" Kevin said.

"They were sent by The Master, a powerful dark vampire, bent on eradicating all who oppose him. Their intent was to kill you and your friends." Holly said.

"And you stopped them on your own?" Kevin said.

"Nobody hurts my son. Least of all those sorry excuses for assassins." Holly said.

"So what do we do now? The Master's out there, probably watching our every move." Kashito said, looking out the window. "We keep fighting. The Master is dangerous sure, but he's also a coward. He won't dare come here unless he has no other option." Holly said.

"Holly, you know we can't fight him alone. We can keep cutting through his goons all we like, but you know he'll never give up." Aiden said.

"Will somebody please tell me who this Master is?!" Kevin finally said.

Kashito, Aiden and Holly all looked at Kevin. Finally Holly spoke.

"200 years ago, a child was born to a vampire and a chosen one. Both sides saw this birth as a time of peace, since no vampire or chosen one have ever been able to have a child. This child was the Master, although he was known by the name Siegfried then. Both sides lived peacefully for 50 years. That is, until Siegfried's parents were murdered by rogue chosen ones. Some believe he was driven insane by his parents' murder. He declared war on the chosen ones. That's when the genocides started. He became obsessed with dark magic...he became The Master."

"And now he's obsessed with us?" Kevin asked.

"When someone has pissed off the Master, they either end up dead or enslaved." Aiden said.

"Then we kill him. That'll solve our problems." Kevin said.

"We cant just kill him. His dark magic makes him immortal in some ways. The only thing that can kill him is dark magic." Holly said.

"Then I'll have to learn dark magic. I won't let him win!" Kevin growled.

"NO! You won't be touching dark magic. It's too unpredictable." Kashito said.

"What other choice do we have?" Kevin said.

"Many have died from the use of dark magic! Some have gone insane and some have developed evil personalities!" Aiden said.

"I still think we should give it a shot." Kevin said. "This has to end."

Holly got up and went over to the china hutch by the refrigerator and pressed a button on the inside. A click sounded and the china hutch swung out from the wall, revealing a passageway that led to under the house. Holly beckoned to the others to follow, who did so. The staircase led to a large dark room.

"LIET YARMA!" Holly said aloud.

The torches on the wall lit immediately in response to her spell, revealing a room filled with books and a large table in the middle. There was a door on the far side, leading to a larger room filled with dummies nailed to the wall.

"I built this place 30 years ago. You are the only others who know of its existence. This is my Sanctuary. You can rest here, as well as practice magic. These books contain many different spells, from healing to destruction." Holly said.

She unlocked the safe on the wall with a spell, and the door shot open in response. She pulled a dusty book out and handed it to Kevin.

"This is Halcynomicon, a book of dark spells. Almost every dark spell you can think of is in this book. As my son I am trusting you with this, but you are only to use it when Aiden or Kashito or myself is with you. The spells are too dangerous to be used without you being watched." Holly said.

"Holly he's not ready!" Aiden said.

"I'll be fine. Besides, I've got you. I know you won't let me hurt myself." Kevin said, hugging Aiden.

Aiden stood there for a moment before he returned the hug.

"Are you sure this is what you want?" Aiden asked.

"Yes. I want to fight." Kevin said.

The two kissed, knowing the future was uncertain. The four furs braced for the long months of trials and tribulations to come......

7 MONTHS PASS.......

Kevin, Aiden, and Kashito ran through the still morning air, their footsteps the only sound echoing through the brush. They made their way to their Special Magic spot, a place where they could practice magic without restraint. They arrived after a 15 minute run. Kevin's body had become muscular in the long months of training, as had Kashito's with Kevin having a slight height advantage. Aiden kissed Kevin lightly on the forehead and nodded to both of them. With that nod, the three of them fired off spells.

"KYU DAIKURA!" Kashito Shouted. A huge bubble of energy surrounded the three.

"KYU ANKARA!" Kevin Shouted. Three fire bolts shot off in the direction he threw them.

"KYU RALVUI!" Aiden shouted. Six blood red shadows obliterated a rock.

The three split up after Kashito broke the shield. Kevin and Kashito took their places across the scarred ground from Aiden. Aiden smiled and motioned for the two chosen ones to bring it on.

"KELA SCHO!" Kevin and Kashito Said together. Magical barriers formed around their bodies to shield them from attacks.

The two then ran at Aiden who took a defensive stance. Kevin jumped and kicked at his head twice. Kashito aimed low and tried to take out his legs. Aiden blocked both attacks with both arms. Aiden threw one punch at Kevin who dodged it easy and countered with a punch of his own, hitting Aiden in the jaw. Kashito threw two punches and was thrown back by Aiden's counter. He jumped up and ran back at him, this time jump kicking at his head. Kevin focused his strength into punches into Aiden's stomach. Kashito's kick connected but Aiden just shrugged it off. Aiden caught Kevin's last punch and threw him into a tree. Kevin cussed and got to his feet. Kashito was thrown into a tree himself, knocking it over in the process. He too got to his feet and cussed.

"Come on boys. Is that all you got for me?" Aiden joked.

"THAT DOES IT!" Kashito roared. "KHIT RES FIER!"

Kashito's body was enveloped by a silver mist that, by Aiden and Kevin's senses, made him a lot faster and stronger. Kashito charged at Aiden and punched him hard in the mouth. This time, he was the one who went flying. He hit a rock, which shattered as he hit it. Kashito cheered for his success, but stopped celebrating when he saw Aiden get up and spit blood from his mouth and smile.

"Oh shit..." Kevin said. "KHIT RES FIER!"

Aiden tackled Kashito into the dirt and started punching into his shield. The force from each punch was so great, Kashito felt air rush by his face every time. Kevin threw a huge boulder into Aiden who was sent flying once again. When he got up he ripped his shirt off and growled at Kevin.

"Taking your shirt off won't distract me babe. Now Come at me!" Kevin laughed.

Aiden's primal side let loose and he charged Kevin. The two lovers locked hands in a test of strength. Kevin threw Aiden into the trees and flew off after him. He kicked him deeper into the woods, with Kashito following close behind.

The clearing where they landed was a small area at the base of the Nightingale Falls basin. Aiden got to his feet and roared once again, his vampire teeth bared. Kevin ripped his shirt off and broke his shield.

"First one to bleed?" Kevin asked.

"First one to bleed!" Aiden said menacingly.

"MIKO TALIE ARIOSE!" Aiden growled.

He hunched back on all fours and prepared to rush Kevin. Kevin thought quickly, and came up with a spell based on Kashito's favorite band Pink Floyd.

"JIL LEH YILTE!" Kevin said and pounded his fists into the ground.

Aiden charged trying to beat the spell but couldn't. Just as he ran at Kevin, a white brick wall shot out of the ground and Aiden ran smack into it. Kashito, who was watching from atop a low hanging rock face, cheered for Kevin and laughed hysterically at Aiden's mishap.

"GAH! A WALL!? REALLY!? THAT'S WHAT YOU CAME UP WITH!?" Aiden said falling backward.

"And you fell for it! HEY KASHITO! Play some music I can kick my Boyfriend's ass to!" Kevin said laughing.

Kashito whispered the spell "PRESA Van Halen" and Van Halen's Human's Being started playing out of thin air.

"Awesome!" Kevin said.

Aiden regained his balance and kicked Kevin in the stomach hard, sending him skidding backward in the dirt.

"VIARA." Kevin muttered to heal his broken rib.

Aiden charged again and tackled Kevin to the ground and punched him repeatedly in the stomach. Kevin kicked him off and repeated the VIARA spell. His wounds healed and he closed his eyes. Aiden grinned and stood still waiting to see what his lover had in store.

"DERHIS NICA." Kevin said Calmly.

Two silver wings erupted from his back, as he smiled. He flew into the air and smiled at Aiden.

"Come and catch me!" Kevin shouted and he took off higher above the trees.

"HASDE NICA!" Aiden said and Black wings erupted from his back.

Aiden took off after Kevin like a black angel. Kashito recited a spell to increase his eyesight distance so he could watch the show. Holly appeared beside Kashito, who smiled at her then pointed up in the air. Holly looked up in the air...The two were trading punches and kicks.

"First to bleed again?" Holly asked.

"Of course." Kashito said.

"Who's your money on this time Kashito?" Holly said.

"Kevin as always. Fifty bucks?" Kashito asked.

"You got it." Holly said.

Kevin grabbed Aiden and recited a spell to revoke his magic as they were near the ground. They both skidded in the water, then began trading punches again. Kevin jumped to the rock then roared at Aiden, who roared back. The two flew into the air at each other and slashed at each other in mid air. The two stood for a moment before Aiden fell to his knees in the water, holding his chest. Blood ran in the water as it was clear that Kevin had won the fight. Kashito whooped and cheered for his friend. Holly smiled at her sons victory and paid Kashito the fifty bucks she owed him before walking over to Aiden, who was gasping for air.

"Wow. You cut him deep Kevin, I can see his bones. KAER HIUGA ALIE SERE." Holly whispered.

Black shadows flowed from her fingers and healed the wound, making Aiden wince a bit. Kevin walked over and kissed the area where Aiden's wound used to be and smiled up at him. Aiden smiled back and held him close.

"We'll see you boys back at the house." Holly said.

"Try not to have to much fun!" Kashito teased.

The two took off into the woods, leaving the two lovers alone in the foggy woods. Kevin hugged Aiden hard and didn't let go.

"Alright. Spill it. What's wrong?" Aiden asked.

"I...I hate fighting you. I fucking hate it. It feels horrible when I hit you." Kevin said.

"I know baby. But you have to learn how to fight vampires. Others will not be merciful, so I can't be when we train. Also, The master's magic can corrupt my mind, so if I'm turned, you have to be prepared to do the right thing." Aiden said.

"Don't you dare ask me to kill you. I won't. You mean too much to me." Kevin said.

"Still, you have to be ready." Aiden said.

"...just shut up and kiss me." Kevin said.

Aiden smiled and kissed Kevin hard, running his fingers through Kevin's now long hair. Kevin's hands met Aiden's hands and pulled him to the river nearby.

"Come on. We both could use a bath." Kevin said and stripped.

Aiden smiled and did the same before sneaking up behind Kevin and hiding his eyes. Kevin giggled and spun to face Aiden, who smiled down at him.

"Mmm...you know what I want." Kevin said.

"Yes I do, but today, I want to just be with you. No sex. Just you, me, and the forest." Aiden said.

"Okay baby. Today is about you and me." Kevin said, smiling.

The two kissed again and walked into the river. The water flowed around their waists as they walked deeper into it. Aiden picked up Kevin and carried him into a section of the deep end and just stood in the water, holding him. The two stared into each other's eyes, and for a slight moment, everything was as it should have been: Perfect.

"Nothing can spoil this." Aiden whispered into Kevin's ear.

"I Love you." Kevin said.

"I love you too." Aiden said.

BACK AT THE HOUSE.....

Kashito was playing Call of Duty: Black Ops when Holly called from the kitchen.

"Hey Kashito! What should I fix for dinner tonight?" Holly said.

"Whatever you fix, don't ask me to help. I'm not good at cooking anything. OH! How about Chinese!?" Kashito said excitedly.

"Kiddo you've been on your own for too long." Holly laughed.

Just then, a dark wave of energy descended over Nightingale Falls. Holly dropped the pan she was holding to the floor...Kashito dropped his controller and ripped off his headset and the two ran outside.

The sky had darkened considerably, considering it was 11:45 a.m., and everything felt wrong. Kashito shivered, his face turning to one of fear. Holly began snarling in rage and anger, as she knew what was coming.

The Master....Had Arrived in Nightingale Falls.
