The crisp morning was still as Aiden, Kevin and Kashito were practicing magic.

"FUS RAHF!" Kashito shouted.

A long blast of flame erupted from his fingers and the log in front of him exploded into flame.

"KAU AGUA!" Kevin shouted.

A blast of water put out the flames at his command. The log simmered with steam as the last of the flames died.

"Now you two are getting the hang of it." Aiden said, brushing his hair away from his face.

"Hey give me a little credit. I've been casting elemental spells since I was a kid." Kashito said with a grin.

"Wow...I didn't know casting elemental spells would be this exhausting." Kevin said, catching his breath.

"When you call on elements, you use your very life force to cast their spells. Kashito's gifts allow him to cast them without sucking away his energy. Now Kevin I want you to repeat this spell...DOH KAZE." Aiden said.

"DOH KAZE!" Kevin said.

A gust of wind picked him up off the ground, and he felt his weak body being strengthened. The wind was giving him energy.

"WOW! I feel great! What was that?" Kevin said.

"Another elemental spell. DOH KAZE calls on the wind to restore life to an otherwise weakened and dying body. Use it anytime you are wounded or weak." Aiden said.

"You know so much bout magic. Why don't you use it?" Kashito asked, sitting on the ground.

"I've had enough practice in my life to last forever. But when I last used magic, a spell went wrong and something bad happened. Let's leave it at that." Aiden said, glaring at Kashito.

Kevin sat on the ground next to Kashito and just stared at Aiden. He knew so little about Aiden, and it was disturbing. What is he hiding?, Kevin thought. Aiden snarled all of a sudden.

"You two! Get behind me!" Aiden ordered.

Kashito and Kevin stood behind Aiden and looked in the direction he was looking. A tall, evil looking white wolf stepped from the shadows. He was clad in a white overcoat and a black suit.

"It's him!" Kevin whispered. "It's the wolf from my vision!"

"That's not good is it..." Kashito said.

"You have someone who belongs to me, my friend. It would be wise to hand him over." The wolf said.

"First, I'm not your friend. Second, if you mean Kashito, he belongs to no one but himself. Third it's rude to not introduce yourself." Aiden said.

"Oh dear, where are my manners? I am Korgen. I've paid a lot of money to find that mouse, and I want him. Give him to me. Your cooperation will not go unrewarded." Korgen said, smiling.

Aiden looked at Kashito and smiled.

"Sorry. Not interested. Kashito stays with us." Aiden said.

"Oh, but he will come with me. BOYS!" Korgen bellowed.

Two wolves dove out of the trees and grabbed Kashito and Kevin. A third knocked Aiden to the ground with some force.

"Kill the deer." Korgen said.

"NO!" Aiden shouted.

"SFEN RAH!" Kevin roared.

The vampire that grabbed him erupted into a ball of fire as a cloak of flame enveloped Kevin. Kashito and Aiden looked on in amazement at the power of the spell. The flames disappeared and Kevin was standing there, untouched and ready for a fight. Kashito smiled and spoke a spell of his own.

"ASFENES!" Kashito growled.

Rocks of all sizes and shape hit the vampire that was holding him and crushed him. Aiden jumped from the ground and tore the vampire that attacked him to pieces. Korgen frowned at the weakness of his lackeys.

"Oh well. If you want something done right, do it yourself!" Korgen yelled.

He charged at Aiden and drove a knee into his stomach. Aiden spit up blood and them punched the wolf's head repeatedly. Kashito and Kevin readied their spells. Korgen grabbed Aiden by his legs and spun him around and around, then threw him against a tree. In response, Kashito threw two fireballs at Korgen, who deflected them easily. Korgen charged at Kevin who dodged and blasted water at Korgen, who brushed it off as if it was nothing. He kicked Kevin hard, the force of impact throwing Kevin like a rag doll. Aiden and Kashito watched in horror as Kevin smacked into a tree and laid unmoving on the ground.

"OKAY! NOW I'M PISSED OFF!" Kashito bellowed. "EAT THIS ASSHOLE! KAER RAENA!"

His arms became shrouded in black flame as he threw all he had at Korgen. The flames followed Kashito's arm movements, manipulating Korgen like a puppet. Kashito clenched his fists and the flames severed his arms legs and head. Aiden watched as the flames burned the remains of Korgen's body. The last look on Korgen face before he turned to ash was one of extreme fear.

"No one hurts my friends. Rest in pieces asshole." Kashito growled.

"Kevin! Kevin talk to me! Honey, please say something." Aiden said, cradling Kevin in his arms.

"Ohhh...My stomach...is killing me...what happened? Where's Korgen's Goons? And where's Korgen?" Kevin groaned.

"Aiden, we cant stay here. There will be more of his lackeys somewhere and they will have sensed our magic. We have to go." Kashito said.

"Agreed. And we're gonna have to have a talk later about that spell. Let's head back to Kevin's place. Hop on." Aiden said.

Kashito hopped on Aiden's back as Aiden picked up Kevin. The lion bolted off into the rising sun, his mind reeling at the magic he had just seen. He hadn't seen magic like Kashito's since he was a young vampire. After fifteen minutes, they arrived at the house just as Kevin's Mother was leaving. They sneaked in the back and headed up to Kevin's room. Aiden laid Kevin on the bed gently, Kevin grunting in pain.

"Kevin, three of your ribs are busted. You'll need to hold still so I can fix you. Okay?" Aiden said.

"O-okay." Kevin moaned.

"ZEN ALIA DELA CHOS." Aiden muttered.

A white light sparkled around Aiden's hands, then flowed into Kevin's stomach. Kevin gasped in pain as his broken bones realigned and mended themselves. Kevin relaxed after the pain subsided and sat up slowly. He looked up at Aiden in wonder, smiling nervously.

"What was that?" Kashito asked.

"An ancient spell. It heals all wounds, bringing a person back even when they are an inch from death. It takes years to master." Aiden said.

"You have got to teach me that." Kashito said.

"Oh I think you know enough." Aiden said, standing and looking at Kashito.

"What are you talking about?" Kashito asked in confusion.

"You used the shadow flame spell. A forbidden magic that hasn't been seen for centuries. Just who the hell are you?" Aiden growled.

"I don't know what your talking about!" Kashito said backing up to the wall.

"Don't think you can lie to me, Mouse." Aiden said.

"Aiden, this isn't the time." Kevin said.

"I want the truth, Mouse! Spill it!" Aiden roared.

"FINE! You want the truth?! I'm over 2000 years old! I don't know who I am." Kashito roared back in tears.

"What?" Kevin said.

"I'm part of an ancient clan of Chosen ones. The most ancient clan there is. My name was lost many years ago. I can't remember it, only my clan name. Our magic is so strong, it keeps us alive for years. I'm one of the last of my clan. Hell, for all I know I am the last one. That spell you saw is a spell my mother taught me before she was murdered by a vampire. I can use any spell there is, without even trying. The shadow flame spell may be forbidden, but I only use it when I have no other choice." Kashito said.

"Why did you hide this from us?" Kevin said, placing a hand on his shoulder.

"How would you feel if you had to run for the better part of two millennia? Not knowing if you can trust anyone and being betrayed left and right by people you thought were your friends?" Kashito said.

"I'm sorry Kashito. I shouldn't have gotten angry with you." Aiden said.

"When you two found me, I thought I would have to run away again. But then you saved me, and I knew I could trust you guys. You became my friends. I don't want to go." Kashito said, starting to cry.

"Calm down. You don't have to go. You have a home here at Nightingale Falls with us. You never have to run again." Kevin said.

"My family's gone...my life's gone...I've lost everything..." Kashito sobbed.

"Not anymore. You have a family with us. Now stop crying and cheer up." Aiden smiled.

Kashito wiped the tears from his eyes and hugged both Aiden and Kevin.

"Thanks guys." Kashito said.

"2000 years? You don't look a day over 20 years old." Kevin said.

"I stopped aging at 20." Kashito said, laying back on the bed.

"How many spells do you know anyway?" Aiden asked.

"Most of them." Kashito said with a yawn.

"You tired?" Kevin asked.

"A little. Is it alright if I stay here tonight?" Kashito asked.

"I'm sure mom won't mind if we make it a guy's night." Kevin said.

With that, Kashito brushed the hair from his face and rolled over, falling into a slumber. Kevin and Aiden looked on as rain clouds formed over Nightingale Falls, coating the sleepy little town in rain.

"Hey, I wanna show you something. Follow me." Kevin said.

"Oh really?" Aiden said.

"You've got a filthy mind baby." Kevin smiled.

Kevin took Aiden by the hand and led him to the crawlspace in the corner. Kevin slid back the bolt and opened the door. The crawlspace led to a dimly lit room on the other side.

"Wow. How long has this been here?" Aiden asked looking around.

"As long as this house has been standing. Mom told me there was a hidden room on the original plans for this place but no one ever found it. I found it my first day here." Kevin said.

"I love it. It has possibilities. Imagine what we could do to this room." Aiden said.

"Or do to each other in it." Kevin said with an evil grin.

"I knew you were leading up to that. Is that why you brought the blanket?" Aiden said with a giggle.

"Yup. Now help me set this down." Kevin said.

Aiden took one end of the blanket, while Kevin took the other, and they both set the large blanket down on the floor. Kevin stripped his shirt and pants off quickly, as did Aiden. "Oh shit. We um...we're busted, aren't we?" Kevin said, his ears falling.

"Mom relax! We used protection!" Kevin shouted back. "Besides, I'm 20 years old! I don't need permission!"

"You do when you're living in my house!" Holly growled.

"I thought you were different from dad, but your just as much a control freak as he is!" Kevin roared then ran down the stairs and out the front door into the woods, alone.

Holly fell back onto the bed, dumbstruck at what Kevin had just said. Kashito put a hand on her shoulder and tried to reassure her.

"He's just angry. He didn't mean it." Kashito said.

"No. He's right. I tried to control him, just like his father did, and look what I've done. I drove him away and now he's in trouble!" Holly said.

"Trouble? What kind of trouble?" Aiden said.

"The police found four dead bodies in the woods in this area. The bodies were ripped to shreds. There's a killer out there and my son's all alone!" Holly panicked.

"Kashito! Let's go! Miss Adams, you call the police. We'll try going after Kevin." Aiden said.

Kashito and Aiden shot out of the house and into the woods. Aiden led the way, his nose picking up Kevin's scent. But his nose was also picking up another scent. The scent of more vampires.

Kevin ran into the woods, his eyes filled with tears at his fight with his mother. He ran for what seemed like forever. He finally came to a small river and stopped and sat down, then just cried. Why had his mother yelled at him? Why had she all of a sudden turned into his father? Would he have to go back to his father? Question after question flooded his mind as tears flowed down his cheeks. Suddenly, he heard a noise behind him. He turned quickly but there was no one there. A growl sounded , then another.. The sound of evil laughter echoed through the small wooded area.

"So you're the one we've been sent to kill!" A female voice said.

"Mmm...he looks weak. This will not be an honorable fight" A male voice said.

Kevin turned again to see two vampires standing across the river. A female panda, and a male panda stared at Kevin with malicious intent.

"What do you want with me?" Kevin said in fear.

"We are The Siblings of Blood. The Master's most trusted assassins. You have been a nuisance, you and your little band, so he decided to send us to thin out your ranks. Starting with you, dear one!" The male said.

"Oh, let me have him first, please!" The female said.

"After you sister." The male said. "Make it quick, I think he is afraid."

"RAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" The female yelled then charged.

"ASFENES!" Kevin yelled.

Rocks of large size pelted the female and forced her back across the river, one hitting her in the head and drawing blood. Her eyes filled with rage and she made another charge. Kevin spied a huge rock over by a tree and tried to lift it with a spell.

"FER ELHI!" He yelled.

The rock wobbled then gave way and flung itself at the females head. It hit with some impact, flipping her and knocking her on her back, drawing more blood. The Male laughed and clapped at Kevin's efforts.

"VERY GOOD! You are a skilled chosen one. Your lover has taught you well." The Male panda said.

"What the hell do you want!? Who is the Master and how have I pissed him off?!" Kevin yelled.

"As my oh so impetuous sister has stated, we have been sent to kill you and your friends. You have caused trouble for us while we have tried to capture the elemental mouse. He has ordered your death." The male said. "Tell me where they are and I'll make your death quick, with no pain."

"You really think I'm giving them up? I'd sooner die." Kevin said.

"Then you protect what you think is right. How honorable. Your death will be slow, but you will die with honor nonetheless." The male said.

He charged, dodging every spell Kevin threw at him. The male punched Kevin hard across the nose, breaking it and knocking Kevin to the ground. The male kicked Kevin repeatedly, and Kevin could feel his ribs breaking.

"Tell me were they are." The male panda growled.

"Go to hell." Kevin said, spitting blood.

The panda repeated the assault. Kevin screamed in agony as more of his ribs were broken. All he could think of was his mother and how cruel he was to her, and Aiden, and of how much he loved him. He begged for the pain to end. But there was no end. The assault continued. Kevin screamed and screamed until he felt his consciousness slipping away. His vision faded to black as he passed out. Before he passed out completely, he heard a voice.

"KEVIN..."
