Pet PART 3
#3 of Pet
My eyes slowly fluttered open. I was curled up in a bed, the sun was just coming up over the mountains outside the window in the room. I slowly sat up and looked around. The room was mostly empty, there was a TV mounted on the wall and a computer in the corner. I yawned and stood up from bed, my head was spinning, the same way it did every time I feel asleep without knowing it. I walked out the open door and into a hallway. It was pitch black other than the morning light coming from the window behind me and a small light down the hall. I walked slowly towards the light, towards what I was guessing was the living room, I heard someone talking which I guessed was the TV. I stepped into the room, it was the living room but I was not hearing the TV, Steve was sitting on the couch talking to another male.
"Oh, hey Vince, didn't know you were up." Steve said as I walked in.
"Vince? That's an ugly ass name." Said the man sitting next to him.
"This is Derek." Steve said.
"H-hi." I said nervously.
"Hey, Steve, we should change his name." Derek said.
"When you stop being so mean to everyone." Steve said with a chuckle.
"When you stop spending all of our dead dad's money on charities." Derek replied.
"Vince, he came by early to pick you up. I was hoping to get to spend the morning with you, but Derek here insists on leaving so, I guess this is goodbye until tomorrow, I'll be by to pick you up about ten." Steve told me then turned to Derek. "Don't be too mean to him."
"Yeah yeah, come on mutt." Derek said getting up.. "Steve may treat you like a person, but your nothing more than an animal to me."
Derek headed for the door, I reluctantly followed him. I let out a small whimper as I left Steve's house and got into Derek's car. It wasn't really a car, it was a limo. He sat in the back seat, right next to the door, and I sat in one of the other seats.
"No, dogs don't sit on people seats, get in the floor." Derek commanded.
Without hesitation I did as he said. I sat in the floor, and after a few moments laid down and curled up. The car ride took a little over half an hour. When we got to his house, well not a house more of a mansion, Derek pulled me out of the car and ordered me to follow him inside the house. Once inside he started to tell me all the rules about his house. Apparently he was not new to owning one of us, he had many slaves to do anything he wanted, but he told me that I was to be a pet not a slave so I was to be treated as such. I had to do everything he told me to do, I couldn't talk to anyone unless they spoke to me first, and I wasn't allowed on any of the furniture.
"Ok Vince, do you understand the rules?" Derek asked me.
"Y-yes sir, I-I understand." I mumbled nervously.
"Ok, now here's what happens when you go against the rules," He started. "If you go against my rules you will be punished, depending on the rule depends on the punishment."
"I understand sir." I stammered.
"Another thing, I'm going to let you off today, but stop mumbling, speak right." Derek said. "Now, I have people stuff to do, go be like a pet and stay out of my way."
Derek left me alone in the living room, leaving me to myself. I stood in the middle of the room for a couple of minutes then curled up in the corner. The day went by quickly, I was in a dream like state, thinking about how nice it was at Steve's house, and before I knew it, it was dark outside. Derek brought me some food, dog food, and a bowl of water. Without a word he left me there. I ate the food, it tasted worse than the food at the shelter, and drank all the water.
I tried to sleep but my dreams wouldn't come to me. I kept hearing weird noises in the house which were keeping me awake. After nearly two hours of laying on the hard wood floor I was able to fall into a light sleep. Twice I woke up in the middle of the night due to strange sounds, crashes and bangs somewhere in the house. Both times the sounds had made me jump, and both times it took me a while to get back to sleep.
I slowly opened my eyes, it was morning, nearly six by the clock hanging on the wall. I stretched out and yawned, my back popping madly, and hurting from sleeping on the hard floor. I sat up looking around. The room was empty, I let out a soft sigh and stood up. After using the restroom I started to explore the house, looking for a place to get me some food. My first turn into a hall was met with Derek, dressed up in a fancy suit.
"Where are you going?" He asked me.
"W-as wondering if I could get something to eat sir." I said looking at the floor.
"Right, you eat food. Head down to the kitchen, follow this hallway take a right, then ask the blue dragon there for what's left of breakfast." He told me and went along his way.
"Yes sir, thank you sir." I said and started to walk.
After having a mostly warm meal of eggs and a roll I headed back to the living room. Derek was sitting on a couch reading a paper. I sat down in my corner away from him and curled back up facing the wall.
"Hey Vince, I want to say this, it's nothing against you, but with my brother Steve, he is always doing the right thing, always getting praised for it. I can't do anything right, in any since. I envy Steve, and it's nothing personal what I do to you, once I get home from work I'm drunk, so I cannot control what I do then. Fair warning, I don't know what I might do to you, but just do as I say." Derek told me.
I looked at him for a moment and then nodded. He gave a small smile and went back to reading the paper. I glanced at the clock, eight twenty three. Still another two hours before Steve would be here to pick me up. I sighed and curled back up.
The two hours passed slowly. At some point in time Derek left for work, told me to wait on the porch for Steve. So for nearly an hour I sat on the porch un till a small sports car drove up and Steve stepped out. I smiled some and got up. Without a word I got into his car, he said a few things which I just nodded to or shook my head. He got back in and we drove away heading towards his house.
