Alexander, aware of the delicate nature of the situation, caressed the trembling deer, trying to give as much compassion as he could.

"Please- " Begged the deer, gazing up at him. "Bad...urges bad...hurting deer terribly - trust - wolf..."

A solemn expression crossed Alexander's face, as he struggled to comprehend the depths the deer must be suffering - its willingness - despite...

_No, stop those thoughts -_Alexander mentally commanded himself, fearful his thoughts would lead to the deer either sensing - or worse - scenting, Alexander's emotions.

"I... can never understand," Alexander murmured. "Together, we will find a way - carefully - to help you. I swear, no harm will come to you, now, I'm going to pick you up, okay? I won't hurt you, I promise..."

Alexander stood, then ever so carefully picked up the trembling deer, holding it firmly, feeling it momentarily tense in fear.

"Shh, it's alright, I got you," Alexander continued to carefully move, carrying the shuddering Cervine towards the bed, where he lightly lay it down.

It looked up, its eyes wide and fearful, but as Alexander sat beside it and tenderly caressed its flank, the deer twitched and gradually began to calm - before it nervously lifted its tail and timidly nuzzled at Alexander.

"Be at peace, I won't hurt you, I know you're afraid, it's alright... Easy, just...just breathe for a moment. I will help you, I don't exactly know how - or even _if_I can..let us...together - take this step, paw in hoof - based on trust and gentleness... Do you understand me?"

With a quiver that rippled through it, the deer sniffled and gave a timid nod.

"Yes...please - help...me - "

Alexander lay on the bed, then ever so cautiously, moved closer, placing a paw on the deer's shoulder, as he edged up against its twitching back.

"I will... I promise..."

*

As dawn crept slowly across their exhausted, sleeping forms, the Deer involuntarily twitched, and then in the amazing way its kind had, it went from a deep exhausted sleep - to wide awake. Its leathery nostrils flared, as it smelt the combined scents from their shared night of intimacy. Its urges driven back, the deer trembled, blinking twice before it twisted its head around, giving a quiet bleat, before tenderly licking at Alexander's furred throat.

"Urgh - "

Alexander mumbled, feeling the warmth of the deer's body pressed hard against his, its eyes staring at him with a look of surprise - and gratitude. It couldn't begin to find the words, for how it felt, at first, it had been afraid, then confused, before the things_Alexander had done to it - then _with it... It could not express itself, all it could do was quiver and look back at him.

As Alexander struggled to awaken fully, he felt the lingering traces of the night's shared intimacy, his bed rumpled, and the scents... His nostrils wrinkled as he shuddered and closed his eyes until he could calm himself.

"Thank..." Whispered the Deer, laying its ears back. "you..."

Alexander smiled, then placed a paw on the deer's flank, giving a tender caress. To his surprise, the deer moved its hind leg, timidly exposing its sheath, and just behind it, was the small udder and teats.

"Deer...liked the...the..." It struggled again, confused and frustrated with its lack of vocabulary.

Alexander's quiet chuff of laughter made the deer nervously smile, as his fingers slid down the flank and ever so carefully ruffled the teats. Instantly, the deer gasped and tilted its head back, bleating in surprise and pleasure.

"That must feel nice, does it?" Alexander murmured, continuing his tender caresses.

Bleating softly, the deer's tail made a whapping motion against the bed, as through the window, the morning sunlight began to creep its way towards them both.

"Wolf...very...kind to deer - " It murmured, laying its head on the bed, its tail flagging faster.

Alexander continued to gently caress and comfort the deer with his tender stroking and light touching of its sensitive udder and teats.

"It's alright," Alexander spoke quietly, moving a little closer, the Deer sighing softly and relaxing against him, fur to fur, warmth shared with warmth, its eyes fluttered closed and its breathing soon became a slow, steady rise, and fall of its chest as it finally found comfort and pleasure.

"No more...hurting?" Alexander asked, using his free paw to lightly trace up the edges of one of the deer's ears, then down the other side.

"Not...hurt - like - did..." It quivered and sighed again. "Wolf..."

"Shhh, it's alright - " Alexander chuckled softly. "It's alright, you're going to be alright now, I promise. "Please, call me Alexander - it's my name..."

"Name?" Asked the deer, lifting its head and once again looking back over its shoulder at him, the confusion in its wide-spaced eyes evident.

"My name - is Alexander," Alexander repeated, continuing his tender stroking.

"Deer...no..."

"We shall fix that, I promise... What would you like to be called?"

Thoughtfully, the Deer pondered for moments, before it looked at the window, then back at Alexander.

"What is...up here - night, pretty - "

"The moon," Alexander smiled, giving the inquisitive deer a tender kiss on its nose. "Moon isn't a good name -"

"Not...good? Deer is bad?"

"No, no, please - don't ever think yourself bad! No, you're good, kind, and beautiful! Only good thoughts from now, okay?"

Confused, it looked into his eyes. "Deer...pretty thing - I like - that."

Alexander twitched, feeling the deer's tail once again feathering where it shouldn't, the deer giving a timid and nervous smile, its eyes filling with nervousness, as it looked back at him, the urges written like words across its furred face.

"Luna - " Alexander suggested. "It's a pretty name - for a pretty...doe, like you."

"Lu - " It frowned, trying to wrap its tongue around the new word.

Alexander moved ever so gently, and the deer's eyes widened before it licked his nose and lifted its tail.

"Wolf...make Lu..."

"Lu-na - " Alexander whispered, as he moved his hips carefully, watching the deer's muzzle.

"Wolf... make Lun...Luna..." It blinked, then with a quiet gasp, its eyes widened and this time - the unmistakable smile spread across its furred lips.

"I will - " Alexander smiled, tenderly stroking Luna's cheek with his fingers, as he ever so carefully began to share himself with Luna. "I will..."

*

Luna and Alexander consummated their newfound bound, and this time, it was a moment of beauty and gentleness. Luna, embracing her new identity as a doe, was more relaxed and calm. Soon, she let out a long and loud bleat - her first true cry of connection and truly bonding - with Alexander...

*

Alexander, fuelled by Luna's unwavering love, found the strength within himself to confront - then reconcile - with the shadows that had long haunted him.

As time unfolded, one season following the previous, Luna faced the shadows from her past. Unwilling to be defined by the wounds, emotionally and physically, inflicted upon her, she made a steadfast resolution to never forget - but to forgive those who had harmed her. Through her love for her Wolf, Alexander, Luna emerged as a playful and gentle-spirited Doe.

*

In the waning days of the yearly Rut, ten years after Luna had first come into Alexander's life, Luna reclined on her side, on a warm blanket as Alexander lovingly made love with her, his fingers tenderly dancing over her teats, eliciting shudders and bleats of pleasure from her. Her head turned backward, eyes locked onto Alexander, who lay intimately close, his movements gentle yet passionate. Suddenly, he gasped and looked up.

Luna lifted her head, and together, their gaze took in the firmament so far above them. Reflected in her eyes were streaking meteors that left trails in their streaking across the heavens. Both were momentarily transfixed, Luna's in wonderment, Alexander's on Luna's suddenly increasing panting breaths. Luna gasped and bleated, accompanied seconds later by Alexander's muffled grunts. Slowly, Luna turned her eyes back to Alexander, who smiled at her, both sharing this almost simultaneous exchange of love - and trust.

Leaning forwards over her back, Alexander delicately lifted Luna's chin with a paw. Her breathing was rapid, her chest rising and falling, before she smiled knowingly, then closed her eyes and parted her muzzle. Alexander tilted his head, and in the afterglow of their pleasurable union, beneath the starry skies so far above, the two shared a passionate kiss, sealing their connection beneath the full moon, that shone down upon them both...
