Hey everyone, i'm going to make this quick. Their is death in this story. I'm not good on fight scenes but I tryed, hope you all enjoy.

Ch. 3 A Big Mistake.

They moved quickly, the army of the wolf clan was moving quickly to set up camp in the thin tree line near the river that flowed from the mountain nearby while Icewaver and Trimoph figure out the watch standing. "We'll send out ten men in groups of two." The captain said while pointing at a poor drawing of the landscape in the dirt.

"That will work, five small parties but I think they should be spaced enough apart that they will still be in sight distance." Icewaver suggested.

Trimoph pondered on the choice. "I guess that will work. We'll send them out for a little, when we feel they are ready to switch up well send out another party to take their place."

Icewaver nodded, the two wolves stood up and walked out of the tent. The captain didn't waste any time pointing out wolves and telling them that they were on scout duty. Unfortunately Icewaver decided that he had one other plan that he didn't announce to the wolf. Walking away he went and looked for a wolf that he might be able to trust, Icewaver seen a younger looking wolf walking back with two buckets full of water.

Smiling he approached the wolf. "Hey." Icewaver said a bit louder than what he would have liked.

The wolf jumped a little spilling some of the water onto the ground. "Oh shit, I'm sorry my lord." The wolf said when he looked at who called him. "I'll be more careful and not to get in your way."

Icewaver smiled, "No your fine, I was actually going to ask if you mind doing me a little task."

"Of course my lord." The wolf said, his tail wagging with anticipation.

Icewaver turned and started to walk away. "Good, follow me."

The wolf followed Icewaver to his tent, Icewaver stood and moved the flap that covered the entrance off to the side to let the young wolf inside first. The wolf hesitated for a moment before moving slowly past Icewaver.

"Umm...what is it you need of me my lord?" The wolf asked nervously as Icewaver secured the entrance, once done he turned and walked over to the wolf that waited for his answer.

"I need you to go on a small arraign for me." Icewaver bent down and dragged his claw into the dirt that wasn't covered by the hide that was lying on the ground. The wolf watched as his superior drew an 'X' followed by a curving line that stretched from where the 'X' was to out followed by what the wolf could make out was the mountain and trees.

"What's this?" The wolf asked pointing to the weird curving line.

Icewaver smiled. "That's the river you were just at. Now if you follow it up stream and into the mountain you'll come to these woods." The wolf paid close attention to the marking that Icewaver made. "I need you to carefully go to these woods till you find a small clearing to the east of the river." The wolf looked confused, Icewaver laid his ears back in embarrassment for the poor directions. "Sorry I can't give you better directions."

The wolf just smiled. "It's ok I'll find it."

Icewaver nodded at his comment. "Ok, in that clearing is a small village of humans. I need you to find one that's about five-nine and has black hear. He'll have a scar on his left side of his chest and on his shoulder."

The wolf looked at Icewaver as if he was joking. "You sure?"

Icewaver nodded once more. "Yes. I need you to tell me how he's doing and where his home is if you can, then report back to me."

The wolf nodded and slowly walked out of the tent, looking both ways to make sure the cost was clear before stepping out into the open. He slowly made his way to his tent that will hold five of his closest comrades. After getting his sword and armor on, the wolf slowly made his way out of the camp and headed towards the river nearby. With ease the wolf spotted the river but didn't want to get to close for being spotted by the scouts that was on post somewhere nearby. He quickly followed the river upstream as told for some miles before the trees started to get thinker than before. His ears was standing tall to catch all the sounds around him, staying alert he slowly made his way through the woods.

It was just getting to be sunset by the time the wolf managed to find the small clearing that gave way to the village. He lay onto his stomach and crawled closer to the clearing and sure enough he saw small buildings. He managed to find a log of a dead tree and he crawled to it. After he managed to get to it without any problems he crouched up and took a good look at the human occupied village.

'Damn...the wolf was right.' He said to himself as he smiled. The wolf looked at all the humans but didn't see anyone that fit the description that Icewaver had told him.

"Don't talk to me." The wolf heard and he quickly dropped to the ground.

"Please Kyo, lets at least talk about it." He heard a female voice.

The wolf slowly eased himself him onto his paws and pushed himself up enough to see where the voices were coming from. He looked a little to his left to see a male and female standing nearby.

"Why so you can make tell me how wrong I am like everyone else." The male yelled.

The female stepped closer. "Look Kyo I do appetite what that wolf did by letting us go and all but you chose a male to love and to make it worse a wolf. The kind that killed our elder and men, have you forgotten."

Kyo didn't say a word as he stared at the ground. "He wasn't like them, he took care of me."

The female rolled her eyes. "Oh yeah that scar on your chest really showed how well he took care of you."

The wolf's ears flicked at what he heard. 'Scar?' he thought.

"He had nothing to do with this." Kyo said while tapping his chest a few times.

She crossed her arms. "Ok, then how did you get the one on your arm?"

"He..." Kyo started but lost his voice when he really thought about it. "He didn't mean to."

"Yeah right, that's what you were tricked into thinking." She implied.

Kyo closed his eyes tightly and started to walk away. "Kyo." She called to him.

Kyo quickly turned with his eyes starting to water. "No you made it very clear on how you feel on this, I'm sorry that I ended up falling in love with a wolf but that's my choice." He yelled and turned to walk to wherever he was heading.

The wolf watched quietly as he seen the girl growl in frustration and stomping her foot onto the ground before she headed back to the village. The wolf turned back to the other human wondering where it was he was heading, making sure that she was gone the wolf slowly got up onto his foot paws and made his way after Kyo. He followed him till the wolf seen a small cabin not too far from the village. Kyo opened the door and after walking inside he slammed it shut.

The wolf shook his head as not knowing what was going on, he turned to make his way back to camp before a scent hit him hard. The wolf's ears laid agents his ears as he quickly but quietly went back to the river, not mistaking the scent. It was a bear.

It took the wolf a while but he managed to slip past the scouts and back into camp, it was late when he was back. The wolf quickly moved through the camp till he spotted Icewaver sitting with five others around a fire. The wolf approached and bowed to the superior wolf.

Icewaver smiled and stood up, the two ended up walked to a spot just outside of camp so that no one can hear their conversation.

"You were right my lord, there is a village." The wolf smiled at his success, "I also manage to spot the human you were asking about."

Icewaver's tail started to wag as his ears perked up. "Yes?"

The wolf took a deep breath. "Well from what I can tell, from being hated by the village for loving a wolf I think. He's doing fine," the wolf scratched the back of his head in confusion about the wolf part but he continued. "I also found out that he lives in a cabin just outside the village."

Icewaver let out a breath as he sighed with relief. "Good, I'm glad he's doing fine."

The wolf nodded when it just dawned on him, Icewaver knew where the human was and the human was being hated for loving a male wolf. That means... "Oh shit, you're the wolf that..." he pointed at Icewaver in disbelief.

Icewaver just smiled shyly and blushed, "I just wanted to be sure he was safe."

The wolf still didn't believe what he just found out. "Can you please keep this a secret?" Icewaver asked.

After a brief moment of gather his thoughts to gather the wolf nodded. "Yes my lord." Icewaver smiled and thanked the wolf before the two made their way back to the camp. "Umm...my lord I think there is one more thing you should know."

Icewaver stopped and looked at the wolf. "What's that?"

The wolf shifted uneasily on how he was going to tell him. "I caught the scent of a bear near the human's cabin."

Icewaver's eye stood stunned at the news for a moment. "They won't do anything till morning." Icewaver said as he turned back to the camp. "I hope that I'm right." He said quietly to himself. The thought of his pup brought a smile to his muzzle once more.

Icewaver slipped in to his tent and plopped down onto his bed looking up at his roof with a smile a crossed his face. "My pup is doing good." He said with a small chuckle, sleep came slowly as he closed his eyes.

..........................................

Icewaver woke up with the sound of yelling and lots of movement running around. The wolf jumped up and quickly grabbed his sword as he ran out of his tent. "What's going on." He yelled.

A wolf that was running passed him stopped and pointed towards the mountain. "My lord." The wolf said.

Icewaver looked up and his eyes widened as he saw black smoke rising from the tree line upriver. Icewaver's stood frozen as he looked at the smoke rise higher and higher. "Snap out of it we have to move now." Icewaver looked to his side to see the captain shaking him back to his senses.

Icewaver bared his teeth and nodded. Within moments the army was rushing up the river and into the thick woods, carefully not to fall into an ambush. They ended up making their way to the village, stopping just into the tree line, the captain moved closer to Icewaver.

"We need to stay back and let the men do the work." Icewaver glared at the wolf but slowly nodded. Trimoph could swear he can feel the tension coming from the wolf, wondering what has gotten into him. The captain looked at the armor covered bears that were rushing through the village obviously killing anyone they seen.

"Get ready men, obvious there will be no negotiation." He said with a growl the wolf, he lifted up his paw "They are weighed down by all that armor, take it to your advantage." Trimoph quickly brought his paw down, and in a moment the wolves darted out of the forest and into the village.

Icewaver was also about to go but the captain rested his paw onto his shoulder. "What did I tell you about staying where it's safe?"

Icewaver couldn't help but growl as he tightened the handle of his sword in his paw. He watched as the wolves were being ordered by the higher ranking wolves to make ranks, they moved swiftly as they hopped over dead bodies and clashed with the bears. Unprepared the first handful of bears fell to the ground without much fight but after realizing the situation the second set of bears that was making their way into the village quickly made ranks standing close, side by side and faced the patiently waiting wolves. The wolves stood in ranks as the first flood of bears was killed, blood staining their furs and blades. The wolves all set the blades of the swords onto the ground as they waited to see what the bears would do next.

A bear with a different style armor walked out in front of their army. He raised his sword into the air, "For revenge." He yelled as all the bears joined into the yelling before they charged. The wolves stood without a single movement as they watched the army come at them, when close enough the wolves lifted up their swords and pierced the armor and flesh of the bears that were in front. A couple bears that didn't get touched by the surprised attack swung their swords at any wolf that was in front of them, only a few able to make contact with the body of a wolf. The bears were concentrating on the group in front that they didn't notice a second party coming from the side, they moved in quickly and attacked with skill, the thick armor making it hard for the bears to turn in time fell as warm blood seeped through the wounds that were caused by the assault. The fist pack of wolves seeing the confusion on the new attack took the advantage to move forward quickly pushing the bears over by the number of wolves with ease. From there the battle wasn't much of a fight to the wolves.

Icewaver was taking glances all around to see if he can find the slightest sign of Kyo. The burning wood of the homes making his sense of smell us useless. Icewaver caught a small glance from the side of new smoke rising from the woods, he remembered that the wolf he sent earlier said that his pup lived in a cabin outside the village. Panicking he broke ranks and dashed into the woods towards the smoke.

The captain looked just in time to see Icewaver leave is side. "My lord." He yelled but obvious that the wolf didn't listen to him as he continued his path. "Damn it..." Trimoph yelled as to a wolf near him. "Go after him now." He yelled, the wolves that could hear him over the yelling and clashing of weapons all broke off from the huge pack and into the woods after Icewaver.

Icewaver ran quickly, jumping over logs as he could smell the fire and knew he was coming up close. The cabin came into view but also some bears standing near it tossing torches onto the building. Anger swept through the wolf as he charged. He held his sword tightly as he jumped upwards near the bear, on the way down he swung it and lobbed off the head of one of the soldiers. Before the bear nearest could react Icewaver spun around thrust the sword forward and impaled the bear into the gut. Icewaver yanked the blade out and looked up at the remaining bears as the body fell onto the ground. They were about to charge till more wolves came and attacked them, seeing his chance Icewaver looked and saw the fire still only covering the upper quarter but its moving quickly to engulf the whole building.

The wolf dropped his sword and ran forward, smashing his shoulder into the door to breaking it open. Smoke filled the cabin as he looked up and around coughing as the smoke started to fill his lungs. "Pup...Pup are you here?" He yelled.

"My lord get out of there." He could hear from outside.

Icewaver dismissed the calls and continued to search the cabin. He looked everywhere but couldn't seem to find anyone. With lost hope he was about to leave till he heard a small moan, the wolf quickly fell onto his hands. Coughing a couple of times before he looked under a bed in the corner, a smile came across his face as he saw Kyo curled up. He reached out and grasped the human's arm, he slid the human out from underneath the bed with ease. His smile faded as he started to worry when he didn't see his pup move. He let out a few more coughs before he started to get up and move, the sound of the beams to the building started to creak of sounds of giving way. Icewaver moved quickly as he ran out the doorway and into the fresh air. He turned and gave one last glance back to his pups home before turning his gaze to the human.

Icewaver set the human down onto the ground gently and started to shake him. "Pup, it's me please wake up." The wolf pleaded. The others started to gather around him to see what it was that was so important for him to run inside.

Tears started to fill his face as no sign of life came from the human. Icewaver lifted the human up and started to nuzzle Kyo's face. "No please don't die on me, come on pup." he said as he held the human close. Icewaver then felt it, it was faint but the human was breathing. The wolf placed his paw on the chest and felt a slight heart beat, Icewaver sighed with joy as he continued to hug the human.

It wasn't long till Icewaver stood up and cradled the human into his arms carrying him and followed by the wolves that came to his aid, one holding his sword, made their way back the village. On the way back Icewaver noticed that besides the wolves following him, not a sound could be heard. He made his way through the wood and saw a wolf running up to him.

"My lord." The wolf called out before stopping for a breath. "It's over."

"What of the village?" Icewaver asked.

The wolf shook his head, "They killed everyone."

Icewaver sighed as he looked down at the now only survivor of the village. "Casualties?"

The wolf nodded. "Only a few dozen and we also managed to take some of the bears captive by force."

"By force?" A Wolf standing behind Icewaver asked.

The wolf in front nodded. "Yes, seemed they weren't going to stop for anything."

"That's not like them." Icewaver said, "Where is the captain now?"

The wolf pointed northward. "He went back to the camp with everyone else."

Icewaver started to make his way back to the camp, occasionally looking down at the unconscious human in his arms. Smiling happily that not only he can touch him once more but that he is also safe. Once they were back to the camp Icewaver looked at once of the solders.

"Tell the captain I'm in my tent." Icewaver said as he continued to make his way through the camp. The wolf nodded and went a separate way, Icewaver walked into his tent as gently placed the human onto his bed. He lay down beside the human, he couldn't help but smile as the human's breathing now seemed normal. Kyo moved a little before he slowly opened his eyes, the human looked at the wolf and squinted confusingly.

"M...master?" Kyo asked

"Yes pup." Icewaver said as tears of joy came to his eyes, "It's me." The wolf whined like a puppy as he hugged the human and nuzzled his face, occasionally giving the human a few licks on the cheek. Kyo couldn't help but smile as he weakly hugged the wolf back.

The two now finally enjoying the embrace that was missed for month was interrupted when someone came to the tent.

"My lord, Captain Trimoph requests your presence." The wolf outside said.

Icewaver groaned now wanting to leave so soon. "I'll be back pup." He said as he gave a lick to the human on the forehead.

Kyo nodded as he unwillingly let go of the wolf and watched as he got up and left him alone, waiting patiently for his return.

Icewaver followed the wolf to the river where he saw the captain and about twenty bears tied to the trees. The captain looked behind him to see Icewaver approach, Trimoph growled and moved quickly to the wolf.

"Did you not hear me when I said to sat out of danger, what would I have to say to your father if something would have happened to you?" The captain yelled.

Icewaver ears laid flat against his head. "I'll explain later." The wolf said as he walked up to the captain and looked at the captives. "Who do we have here?" Pointing to the bear with the different armor.

"He's their head captain." Trimoph said while walking up to the bear.

Icewaver glanced down at the captive. "You were pretty foolish to invade our territory."

The bear growled. "As Long as we avenge our king I don't care who we invade."

"What happened to your king?" Icewaver asked confused.

The bear growled even louder. "Yeah like you don't even know, your clan killed him you bitch."

Trimoph eye's widened and looked over to Icewaver. Icewaver had the same confused look on his face. "Wha...what do you mean we killed him?" He asked confused.

"Our king was on his way back from the buffalo clan, that's when your clan jumped our caravan and slaughtered everyone but me, I was giving this scar on my face thanks to that wench that killed our king."

Icewaver leaned down and could see the scar ran down over the left eye of the bear, the blade must have just missed the eye since he can still look out of it.

"Are you sure it's our clan?" Trimoph asked.

The bear struggled against the binds that held his arms. "Yes...the female wolf has the same crest as you." He said as he glanced at Icewaver. "She said her revenge will be hers."

Icewaver placed his paw onto his face. "Oh, shit."

Trimoph looked at Icewaver confused. "What is it my lord."

"I know who did it." He said as he looked at the bear. "You need to speak to my father at once. This was all a big mistake, release them." He told the wolves.

Everyone looked confused at the wolf, but they did as ordered and released the bears. Their captain of the bears rubbed his paws over his wrist as he looked up at the wolf. "What's going on?"

Icewaver looked over to the bear and sighed. "You king was killed by my sister, she was exhaled sometime ago."

The captain looked shocked. "Th...then I."

Icewaver nodded, "You did what she wanted and marched your men to death." He told the bear but the thing he couldn't help but wonder is why she would use such a weak country.

The bear fell onto his hands and knees as his eyes started to water. "I...I was being play and used, now my...my men are..." He started to sob.

Icewaver crouched down to the bear and placed his paw on his shoulder. "Take them back to camp as our guests." Icewaver told the wolves that stood around. The wolf's gaze meet Trimoph, "We will head back home noon tomarrow."

Trimoph nodded and made his way back to the camp with the last of the bear army. Icewaver made his way back to his tent and seen his pup was sitting up. Icewaver smiled as he made his way inside and sat beside his pup.

"Umm..master?" Kyo asked.

Icewaver let out a small laugh. "I'm not your master anymore." He said as he wrapped his arm around Kyo's shoulder.

Kyo leaned closer to the wolf. "I don't care, you'll always be my master but I wanted to know what happened to my village." Icewaver's smile disappeared almost instantly as he looked away from the human. "Master what happened?" He asked more worried this time.

Icewaver closed his eyes tightly. "The village was destroyed and everyone was killed."

"No!" Kyo yelled as he collapsed onto the wolf as tears started to run out of his eyes. Icewaver held his human tightly as he tried to comfort his human.

"I...I'm sorry pup." Icewaver said as he ran his claw threw the human's hair, staying with him till the human was able to fall asleep from exhaustion.
