Chapter 10: A new Found Teacher
#10 of A Family once Lost
It had been about a week since the attack from Malefor and the Hunters. Things had started to calm down as our heroes spent those days resting. Spyro and Cynder spent most of the days together cuddling and kissing with each other while Aaron would mostly disappear and would reappear tired and worn out. The elders didn't do much as they kept a constant eye on Hunter's condition to make sure it didn't worsen, but they couldn't help but keep an eye on Aaron for when wouldn't have disappeared he would distance himself from everyone for some reason. They tried to ask him what was wrong but he would always some how vanish before they could even get to him, and he would be gone for hours before he would even come back and when he did he would just eat then go to sleep.
"Good morning Spyro." Cynder said in a happy tone as she noticed him starting to wake up.
"Good morning Cynder." He replied with a smile as he looked out to the sun rising above the horizon and shinning it rays of light right onto them in the cave. She gave him a lick across the cheek and he returned the favor before he gave her a kiss. "Seems we stayed out to late, we should have gone back."
"Yeah but I think the elders will be ok with it since things have been rather calm since." Spyro nodded as he looked back out of the cave onto the sun. Nothing but silence rang out between them as they continued cuddling with each other, while occasionally giving each other a loving kiss that was in till both of their stomachs started to growl. Cynder giggled as she looked to the river that sat outside of the cave as she saw fish swim in it. "I'll go get some fish for us to eat." She said as she got up and walked towards the entrance, Spyro at this time took the chance and glanced over Cynder's whole body as she moved past him. Through the time they had been together and even more since that night she finally forgave herself and let the light in, Spyro could help but noticed that her body was changing. Her horns had almost turned into a brilliant white; her scales had seemed to take on a lighter shade of black while the marks on her body had also whitened up. Her body had grown sleeker appearance, in all she started to look brighter. To Spyro she seemed to just be even more beautiful then how she looked years ago when he first saved her from Malefor's clutches.
"If you're going fishing then I guess I will go berry hunting." Spyro replied as he stood up and stretched out. While he was stretching Cynder took her turn as she looked over Spyro's body. She noticed that he had grown as she had, longer and taller. His horns and back fins had also grown in length. She also noticed that he had grown even more muscular, which is one thing she loved about his body. He finished stretching and she finished staring as she headed towards the river while he left and ran off into the forest.
Spyro ran off for a good while, keeping a good eye out for any berry bushes but none for seen. He stopped in a small clearing to catch his breath. "That's weird," He thought "I should have come across berry bushes by now." He looked around for some berry bushes. He kept looking around but instead of a berry bush he saw Aaron in another clearing that was only a little bit away. He was about to run up to him when several small apes along with several ape commanders jumped out and surrounded Aaron. Spyro hid behind a bush, pushed away some branches in the bush, and watched to see what would happen.
"Come with us human, we can help you." An ape commander said as he stared at Aaron. Aaron's only response was a silent laughter before an ape fell out of a tree. All the apes quickly looked at the ape to see wooden spikes sticking out of its back.
"Twelve." Aaron said drawing all of the apes' attention away from their dead comrade.
"There are twelve enemies left, the thirteenth, their backup, dead leaving only twelve left." The apes looked all around.
"Where is he?" One of the commanders asked.
"Where is who commander?" Aaron asked looking over to where Spyro was, who in turn looked at him.
"The purple whelp Spyro, the only one who could do something like that." The commander said while continuing to search about.
"Oh Spyro. He had nothing to do with that." This surprised the commander and left Spyro confused. Spyro knew he didn't do that but left wondering who did.
"If it wasn't Spyro then it was that earth Elder, Terrador." The commander said in a quick response.
"Wasn't him either." Aaron said as he leaned on a nearby tree and placed his hands in his pockets. All the apes looked at him in confusion. Before one of them laughed.
"Okay then, if it wasn't Spyro or Terrador then who was it or who else can control earth like those two?" This time Aaron didn't respond, just smile. "Why are you smiling human?" Aaron never responded, just looked up as several spikes started to form out of the tree he was leaning on around him. "It has to be one of them, look and find them." The commander ordered as the spikes extended out.
"It's not them," He smiled more as he looked at the commander. "It's me!" The spikes shot out from the tree and hit the commander and two apes that were also next to him. The rest of the apes and Spyro stared in awe at Aaron as he leaned off the tree.
"How did you," The ape stopped as a thought hit him;" It must be the whelp in a magic disguise or something." Aaron only laughed before he darted right up to the commander that said that.
"I am not Spyro, I am Aaron Nestor." Next thing everyone knew the commander was spitting out blood, before exploding into pieces. No one could see what might be left from the explosion was caused a fire to engulf what ever might be left from the explosion. After a few seconds something could be seen within the fire, and what it was the apes didn't like. There stood Aaron in the fire holding onto the spine, which was still connected to the ape of the commander, he held it up before throwing it towards the rest of the apes. They stood in horror as the head of their fallen commander looked back at them; even Spyro who was hiding in the bushes was frozen in horror as he watched. Soon they looked back up to see Aaron walking out of the fire and towards them. They started to run but Aaron threw two fire balls from his hands and hit two as they turned to run.
"Damn, I have to catch them before they get to him." Aaron said before he took off after them, while Spyro took off as well.
"I know it's not him this time, but how is Aaron able to do this stuff." Spyro thought as he followed Aaron through the woods. Soon he stopped as he saw a cliff coming up. He sat on a branch as he looked down the cliff to see Aaron at the base of the water fall lifting his arms. He looked in front of Aaron to see the apes still running, but soon their path was cut off as a wall of solid ice popped in front of them from the river. The turned to see Aaron still holding his arms up and they began to worry.
"Don't think I am going to let you live." Aaron said as he slowly brought his arms back.
"What is he going to do?" Spyro wondered as he watched carefully. His answer soon came as Aaron thrust his arms forward towards the apes while several shards of ice shot out of nowhere and struck three apes. The last three were smarter as they jumped up. Two of the apes came down quickly and both got a hit on him while the commander landed and kicked up right into his chest. Aaron flew up and landed harshly on the ground. The apes started a small victory screech as they thought they had beaten him but their screech ended quickly as Aaron got right back up.
"Smart move, but not smart enough." He said with a smirk as he quickly lifted his arm. Before any of them knew what had happened one of the apes suddenly fell with a hole in the middle of his chest. As the ape hit the ground a huge crack of thunder was heard as it rang out. Both the apes and Spyro looked at the fallen ape who was nearly completely burned. Soon the commander had started to charge right at Aaron, but he was stopped right in his tracks as Aaron met him half way. "Time to die." Aaron said in a silent tone before he thrust his arm right through the commander's body. He pulled his arm out and looked at the last ape, who by now knew he would be killed. So to try and not get killed he through his armor off and got on his knees and by the sound was begging for forgiveness and his life. Aaron just walked up to him and knelt down to him and whispered something to him. Spyro saw the ape shot up and nod. Aaron looked up and took down the wall of ice and as soon as he did that the ape ran off. Spyro watched as the ape disappeared into the forest before he looked back to see Aaron fall. He quickly flew down and landed next to him.
"Aaron, are you okay?!" Spyro asked shaking him.
"Hey Spyro, I was wondering when you would come out." He started to life himself up. "I'm fine just tired." Before he could get all the way up he grunted in pain and began to fall, but before he did Spyro caught him.
"You're not okay; those apes have done some good damage to you." Spyro replied as he lifted up Aaron. Aaron only grinned and laughed slightly.
"It's not from the apes, it's from the training I've been putting my self through. I'll be fine, I just need to walk it off and get some food in me." As he said that something popped into Spyro's head. He forgot he was going to get berries and return to Cynder.
"Came on, Cynder should have some fished cooked and ready down the river." He started lifting Aaron up but before he could get him up completely Cynder walked around the corner while carrying a leaf with a good amount of fish on it.
"Too late Spyro." Spyro shot up in surprise as he saw Cynder.
"Cynder? How did you know we were here?" Spyro asked and Cynder only giggled.
"While one; she knows I train here, and two; I believe she heard the thunder my lightening created." Aaron said as he laughed and set himself down into a cross legged position. Spyro walked over to Cynder.
"He's right, you'd have to be deaf not to hear that thunder so I knew it must have been either you or him so I came as quick as I could with the food knowing that either one he would be hungry." Cynder said in response.
"You knew he had powers Cynder?" Spyro asked which confused her.
"I thought you knew." She looked at Spyro before looking at Aaron. "I thought you told him Aaron." Spyro looked back at Aaron who just shook his head.
"Not yet, but can we please just get the food cooking cause I am starving from my night of training and from that fighting." As He finished he heard both Spyro's and Cynder's stomach growl. "I'll take that as a yes." Everyone laughed and soon the fished were being cooked on a fire that Spyro breathed up, but while the food cooked Spyro started to as questions while Cynder watched the food.
"Aaron, how were you able to do some of that stuff?" Spyro asked and Aaron only chuckled.
"A lot of training and experimenting, I am lucky I remember I could do that stuff." Aaron answered as he hungrily watched the food cook as the rich aroma of the fish reached his nose.
"Have you always been able to use the elements?" Spyro asked again as even he started to stare at the delicious looking fish.
"Well, I am not all to clear with that. I only remember I can use the elements because I remember all what happened on that day I was brought here, well before hand." Aaron said before he licked his lips.
"You remember the day you were taken from your world?" Cynder asked as she saw their hungry looks and couldn't help but giggle.
"Not must of it but I remember using the elements, plus I remember what happened that day I went to the Chronicler. I remember that I was the one who brought up the ice ramp, and I understood how I was able to beat the element dragon." Aaron replied back. "I basically made my hands fire hot and made her neck bone softer before breaking it."
"Have you told the Elders of this? Spyro asked before the fished was done and handed out.
"No, not going to. They are either going to have to catch me using the elements." He took a bite out of the fish and he stopped for several seconds as the taste of the fished melted on his tongue. "Oh this is good, this is the first time I am eating something that you guys cooked.
"It is good, but what else are the elders going to have to do to know about your powers?" Cynder asked as she started eating the fish.
"They are going to have to just ask me. Plain and simple, I won't lie to them about it but let's not tell them so I won't have to train under them or something. I rather keep my powers a secret so he doesn't find out." As Aaron finished Spyro remembered something.
"Hey Aaron, what did you tell that ape?" Spyro ask and Cynder looked up at Aaron.
"I told him he wants his life spared he is going to map the inside of Malefor's castle out and give it to us. That way we can get in easily, that and I asked him to give us Malefor's condition." Cynder looked curiously at Aaron.
"Why ask him about Malefor's condition?" Cynder asked.
"I feel as though he is still injured from out fight, that and I wish to know why it has been so calm and only few apes are being sent out for me." Aaron replied as he took the last bite out of his fish and threw the bone down.
"Okay understandable, but Aaron can I ask for a favor?" Spyro asked as he threw his fish bones down.
"Sure Spyro, what do you need?" He asked as he looked to see Cynder throw her fish bones down.
"Can you teach me how to do that stuff you did earlier?" Spyro asked and Aaron looked surprised.
"Why me I am sure the elder's will teach you those tricks." Aaron replied and Spyro nodded sadly.
"Well even if they would I don't think they could. They don't have as much power and energy as they used to and you techniques are pretty advanced." Cynder responded and everyone looked at her.
"You have a point, and these techniques are pretty powerful and energy using." Aaron started to think as Spyro turned to Cynder and leaned in.
"Thank you." He whispered before kissing her on the cheek.
"You owe me." She said back and Spyro knew what he had to do.
"Alright Spyro I will teach you what to do. First lesson put that fire out without breathing ice or earth." Spyro looked at the fire before turning back to Aaron.
"How can I do that?" Spyro asked and Aaron smiled.
"Like this." Aaron lifted his arm and both Spyro and Cynder watched as something started to form in the river. Soon it seemed a weird snake like head stretched out of the water and reached over the fire before it just fell and put the fire out. "Tomorrow I teach you to control the water from the river, and other places to do what you wish but you will not learn that." Spyro looked at him confusingly.
"What do you mean?" He asked and Aaron just grinned.
"You will see, starting tomorrow I will train you and Cynder in secret." Spyro and Cynder looked at him in surprise.
"Why in secret?" Spyro asked.
"How can you train me?" Cynder asked and Aaron just grinned more.
"You will see." He responded but Cynder stared at him.
"What could you teach me, you can possess the powers I do." He shook his head.
"I heard how you got your powers and well after being influenced by darkness as you have been it seems that the same result it had with you is the same with me, it just came out more since Malefor possessed me, but enough of that. Tomorrow your training starts. We will train in secret and in turns, you will know when it is your turn, but in till then just relax, in till then cause when training starts I won't be gentle on you. I'm not even gentle on myself when it comes to training, do you two understand and accept this?" Both nodded and Aaron smiled. "Okay then, let's get back and rest." Both agreed again as they started to head back to the temple.
_ Hey, sorry it has been so long but with a lot of shit happening with my family and the down grade with my computer it has been too difficult but thanks to a good friend and loyal ready/fan I decided to get back on after forever and get this down. Thank you Shadow407 if I didn't read your comment I wouldn't have gotten off my ass and stay up till 7:50 in the morning to finish this and upload it. I hope you all like it and give possitive feedback, point out mistakes, and point out stuff that is confusing. _
