Ch. 17 No

The whining of the horse drew Kyo's gaze back to the carriage that waited patiently for the two. Icewaver slowly walked up to it, he set Kyo back onto the ground before he opened the door and escorted him in. The wolf gave the wolf driver the sign that they were ready and was soon going through the gates of the palace and through town.

The human looked up at his master as he sat beside him, "master, where we going?"

Icewaver looked at his pup and smiled. "We are going on a small trip for a couple of days."

"Really?" The human asked excitedly.

The wolf nodded, "Yeah, the palace seemed to be stressing me out, and you need time to heal. So I have decided to take us on a small trip."

The human leaned over and hugged the wolf around the waist. The wolf smiled down at his human while Kyo clung to him, but his smile slowly faded. The wolf looked out the window when they finally left the town and into the country side. While traveling Kyo was asleep, Icewaver just sat on the seat and petted the human.

They soon came to a small town and they all stopped at the tavern. Icewaver shook his human awake, "pup, wake up."

" Hmm," the human moaned, "Where are we?"

"We are in Kripose." The wolf answered, "We'll be here for the rest of the day." The wolf said while Kyo sit up. They both stepped out of the carriage and waited for the driver to unload their entire luggage.

"Master, who packed our things?" Kyo asked, he didn't remember any of his master's things being taken from the room.

The shrugged. "I had my clean clothes from the laundry room packed, I naturally had your clothes taken from the same place."

The driver bowed to the two after finishing his task. "Lord, I'm going to get the horses to the stall and then have your things brought up to your room." The wolf said before leaving the two in peace.

Icewaver smiled while they walked into the tavern, when they got to the front desk they were greeted by I big buffed wolf. "Welcome, names Beautrop."

Kyo couldn't help but let out a small giggle, "pup." Icewaver quickly but quietly said sternly.

Beautrop held up his paws. "It's all right, my parents thought I was a girl when I was born, the blind fuckers. So naturally it stuck."

Icewaver nodded. "Well anyways, my names Icewaver and this..." he wrapped his arm around Kyo's shoulder, "is my pet Pup."

The wolf's eyes widened as he bowed. "Pardon my manners my lord," He said as he looked back up to the wolf, "We don't get many royalty wolves in these parts." The wolf blushed from being embarrassed.

Icewaver just nodded. "Yeah I know, but we like to see some of the sites here and some of the famous drink."

"Ahh, you mean the dry apples ail." The wolf pointed to a bottle on the counter.

Kyo's master nodded, "and if you don't mind two rooms please, our driver will be shortly and also needs a place to stay for now."

"Not a problem my lord." Beautrop reached behind the counter, he stood back up and dropped two keys. "Here you go, it's usually five pieces a night but consider this a welcome present." He placed his paws on the keys and slid them closer to Icewaver. "On the house."

Icewaver tried to decline and wanted to pay but the wolf wouldn't have it. "My lords please just enjoy your stay here and have your pet rest as much as possible that looks like a nasty wound under that bandage." He pointed out.

"Thank you." Icewaver said before picking up the keys and helped his pup up the stairs to the room. When they entered they saw a large bed and a dresser nearby. Over all Icewaver thought the room wasn't too bad, they heard a tump behind them and turned to see their driver setting the luggage onto the floor.

"Here's your key." Icewaver said while tossing it to the wolf.

The wolf caught it and looked at the item in his paw. "My lord you didn't have to."

Icewaver smiled and patted the wolf's shoulder while he and Kyo left the room. "Just have the carriage ready early in the morning." Icewaver whispered to the driver so Kyo didn't hear him. The two made their way outside and slowly walked down the road, Kyo walked slowly due to the pain his wound still gave him.

"So this small town is famous for its drink?" Kyo asked the wolf.

Icewaver somewhat nodded. "Yeah but mostly for their apple orchards. They pretty much supply enough apples for cider or trading."

Kyo looked around, he saw lots of crates that were full of apples. Stands selling merchandise, clothing, they also walked by a blacksmith. While walking Icewaver took a big whiff of something that happened to catch his liking. The wolf lead Kyo to a small stand, when they got closer Kyo could smell it too. Rich caramel, the female wolf sitting behind the stand was soaking the apples in it and letting them on small wooden plates.

She noticed Icewaver and Kyo, Icewaver held up the number two. The female smiled and handed two plates to the wolf, Icewaver took them and handed her a couple of gold coins in return. Kyo and Icewaver found a small bench and sat down to eat the small treats.

"I usually don't like fruits but they smelled so good." Icewaver said

Kyo was the first to bite into the apple, he looked up at his master with a smile. Icewaver couldn't help but chuckle to see his pup had some caramel on the side of his cheek, the wolf leaned down and licked up the gooey treat. The human giggled at the touch of the wolf's tong.

"Mmmm, it is good master." Kyo finally manage to say after the wolf was done.

Icewaver nodded in agreement after taking a big bite out of his. "Well we need to hurry, it'll be dark by the time we get to the tavern." They quickly finished and started the long slow walk back. Once back into the tavern they were greeted by Beautrop.

"My Lord, How was your time out?" The wolf asked in a voice full of joy.

Icewaver helped his pet sit down into a chair at the counter. "It was good, you have a nice town here."

"Thank you my lord," the wolf bowed, "Now how about that drink."

Icewaver sat in the next chair over. "Why not."

Beautrop smiled as he set a glass in front of the wolf, with the bottle in the other paw he pored the ail into the glass. Icewaver lifted the cup up to his maw and sipped at it at first but then gulped it all down. "That's good."

The bar tender nodded in agreement as he refilled the cup. To Beautrop's surprise the wolf handed the cup to his pet. "Take a small sip ok," Kyo nodded and sipped the liquid, once he got a taste he handed it back to his master. "Good isn't it?"

"Yes master." Kyo said while watching his master down the rest of the drink.

"Is it possible to have a case of this sent to the palace?" the wolf asked.

Beautrop nodded. "Yes my lord, I can have my provider send one their if you like. You'll just have to pay when it gets their"

"Good." Icewaver said before getting up, "Let's go pup." the wolf motioned for his human to stand, slowly helping his pet to his feet the wolf nodded to the bartender. "Night."

"Night my lord." The wolf waved as the two walked to the room.

Icewaver laid Kyo into the bed and stripped of the human's shirt, the wolf soon removed his clothing as well. Once he slipped into the bed Kyo instantly clung onto the wolf, wrapping his arms tightly around him.

"I love you master." Kyo said softly while nuzzling the wolf's fur.

Icewaver's smile faded as he looked down at his pet. "I love you to Pup."

The wolf kissed the top of the humans head before laying back, they both closed their eyes and let sleep take them both, only one knows what the next day will hold.

Icewaver shook Kyo to wake him early in the morning. The human let out a soft moan that signaled that he didn't want to be woken up yet. The wolf smiled as he slipped out of the bed and got changed, once done he moved his paws under the human and lifted him up in his arms. He carried the human outside, he smiled when he saw the wolf patiently waiting for the two.

"I'll go get your bags my lord." The wolf said as he slipped past them. Once the keys were placed on the counter and the luggage was strapped down they made their way back onto the road.

It was almost mid day by the time Kyo woke up in his master's arms. He slowly wrapped his arms around the wolf as he nuzzled him. Icewaver looked down and smiled at his human. "How you doing Pup?"

"Sore still master." He said while moving to get more comfy.

Icewaver bent down and licked the top of the human's head. "You had fun yesterday."

Kyo nodded. "It was nice master," the human looked out the window and saw a the mountains in the distant. "So where are we going this time?" The human asked.

"Somewhere special." The wolf said, he laid back and watched as the view went by. Kyo also did the same, just sitting alone with his master and enjoying the company the two shared. "So tell me pup, according to Tags you jumped off a water fall, right?" Icewaver asked after sometime to make conversation, Kyo noticed something off with the wolf but shrugged it off.

Kyo took a deep breath. "I didn't want to be caught back then, I was afraid when I was running so when I came to the waterfall I only saw one option." Icewaver felt his pup shiver and held the human closer.

It wasn't long after that they felt the carriage begin to rock on the bumpy surface, Kyo looked outside and saw that they had came into the mountains. They traveled deeper till they came to a small clearing. The driver pulled onto the rains and the horses came to a complete stop, Icewaver opened the door and helped his pet out. The wolf ended up catching the human as his legs gave way from the pain.

"Where are we master." Kyo asked when he got his balance back, the wolf didn't say a word as he led the human into the woods nearby.

They continued to walk, the sun now going down and setting on the edge of the horizon, Kyo could make out some lights in the distance. When they got close enough Kyo stopped in front of Icewaver confused when he finally realized that it was his village.

"M...master this is..." still lost for words he felt something loosen and heard a small metal thud. Kyo looked at the ground to find his collar lying in front of him, quickly turning to the wolf with his hand on his neck that the object used to be, "Master?" Kyo asked with worried eyes.

Icewaver planted a soft kiss onto the human's lips, he pulled back and rested his forehead on Kyo's. "I'm sorry Pup," he said in a whisper. "I can't keep you no longer, I...I can't see you get hurt anymore." The wolf's voice started to get rough.

Kyo shook his head as he held onto his master. "No, master ple..."

"Don't." the wolf said as his eyes started to tear. "The slaves will hurt you again if not kill you."

"I don't care," Kyo said before the wolf could finish.

"The wolves plan on something because of you being involved with Angelis also, I...I" Icewaver hugged his pet harder one last time before standing. "I had tags drop... your friend off, and told him not to hunt in this area again."

"Master, please I love you." Kyo pleaded as his eyes started to water as well, tightening his grip on the wolf and laying his head agents Icewaver.

Icewaver reached behind him and loosened the humans grip. "I...I'm sorry." The wolf said, once free he started to walk away. Kyo tried to follow but couldn't get far due to his wound, he ended up leaning agents a tree. "Don't follow me please." Icewaver yelled as his walking got faster and faster, it soon turned into a run.

The wolf ran as fast as he could but he still could hear his pet's voice calling for him. His eyes now soaked with tears as he made his way back to the carriage that was waiting patiently for him "Go!" He yelled as he opened the door and was about to get in.

"But my lord." The driver said clearly was able to hear the salve call for the wolf.

Icewaver glared at the wolf. "I said go" the driver seen how hurt the wolf was and nodded. Icewaver sat on the seat as the carriage started to move, it didn't take long till he collapsed on the floor crying. Unable to stop the tears he curled up into a tight ball. "I...I love you Pup." he muttered to himself.

Kyo was leaning agents the tree as he hugged his knees close to himself. "Master, why?" he asked.

Deep down Kyo knew that he might never see his master again, but he hoped that one day he could. One day he wants to see the wolf that changed his life.
