Mesozoic Park 2 (Part 12)
#13 of Mesozoic Park 2
The lab was made for this. It was made to break up the team and make them vulnerable and each hall had hidden corridors which the Indoraptor used to go from hall to hall, picking off the team until there where only five left.
Jake lead his small group down the hall they picked and readied his gun upon seeing a door with a key-card lock. "Cover your ears!" he shouted before he shot the lock and rammed the door open and skidded to a stop.
He looked around in the warm, humid room. It was an incubation room. There where a dozen or so incubators, each one containing at least half a dozen eggs depending on the size.
The group looked around and a glowing exit sign caught Matt's attention "There!" he ran towards it, followed by the others. He shoved the door open and stopped out of the way to hold it open before slamming it shut after everyone was out.
They all stopped to catch their breath, feeling safe at last, when a huge head reached over the rail and grabbed the final team mate, giving him a crunch before swallowing him. The mother Mapusaurus looked at her chicks before turning her attention back to Jake, Gena, Matt and Jayden. Jake had his ear pressed to the wall.
He smiled and pulled the door open, a second later the Indoraptor rushed out and pounced on the Mapusaurus who whipped around and attempted to grab it before it climbed onto her back and sunk it's claws deep before ripping them down her back and side, making the mother roar out as her chicks retreated. The Mapusaurus fell on its side and tried to roll and crush it's opponent but the Indoraptor hopped off and than back on, taking this opportunity to sink it's teeth and claws into her throat, quickly opening a deep gash and starting to bleed the Mapusaurus out, she could only let out a week roar before succumbing to blood loss.
The team took this opportunity to run as far as they could. A large white shape appeared in front of them and they skidded to a stop except for Jake, who slowed a little and hopped up and hugged the large theropods leg.
It turned and hissed before realizing it was Jake and calming down again.
"Its been so long, old friend, I'm surprised you recognize me"
A soft growl came from the theropod.
"yeah yeah, I'm sorry, i know i should have tried to find you sooner" He took something from his backpack and the theropod leaned down so he could put the collar on him. "Hows that, Runt?"
The Indominus made a soft noise and the collar translated it "perfect. But what brings you back here?"
Jake smiled at his old friend "Well, thats a long story, but right now we need your help"
"of course, I'm happy to help you"
"You see, there is a new dinosaur on this island, like you but much smaller and faster and very aggressive. And I think it wants to hunt us down"
"I think we'll need a plan"
