Dark Origins: Kralken Four, Part Four
#8 of Dark Origins
Matt's stay on Kralken four comes to a surprising end.
Dark Origins: Kralken Four, Part 4
Matt could feel that something was wrong. From the way the velociraptor like servers had acted when they delivered their morning meal to the way their present escorts back to the council chamber had tried not to make eye contact with anyone in Jason's party. He glanced back at his compatriots and saw that they too could tell something was different from the night before. Even with this he had to smile when he saw the two humans that walked side-by side with Jolle. Both Captains Richards and Bowman looked more at ease with hir than the night before and from the way they walked they needed as much ease as possible after spending the night in the company of the big herm head of security.
Everyone stopped just outside the main entrance to the council chamber when a red "haired" smaller member of Jolle's Komodo Dragon-like species, dressed in a security uniform, ran up to and whispered something to hir. Matt could not see hir too well from his position behind Freerah and Jason but he could hear the anger in hir response and a hint of it when shi turned and addressed them.
"I am sorry to inform you that our security was violated last night, but I assure you that your quarters and personal privacy were still secure and that everyone was and is still safe." Matt breathed a sigh of relief until he remembered his little adventure with hir and Farada in the corridor outside of his room. He watched Jolle step up to Jason and bow hir head. "This may be the last time I can make a request such as this..."
Jason cut hir off, "Captains Richards and Bowman can stay with you as long as they wish." He turned toward them, "As long as they understand that we may not be able to retrieve them ant time in the near future."
He could almost hear "If ever" in the tone of his voice when the two officers nodded yes, which caused him to worry about their long term safety.
Jolle looked up at him and smiled. "Thank you Chire Jason and for helping me clear this with my superiors. You have my promise that I will keep them safe even at the cost of my life."
"I expected no less." Jason showed hir a toothy grin.
Freerah seemed upset at her mate's gesture but voiced other concerns, "Do you have any idea why this happened and does it have anything to do with why all the personnel here have been acting so strangely toward us this morning?"
Jolle paused for a minute then looked a bit nervous before hir professional demeanor from the previous night returned, "Due to security concerns I cannot reveal what I know but I have been assured that all will be revealed once we are in the chamber."
Shi turned and everyone resumed the march toward the large twin doors that had already started to slide open. That was when Matt received an urgent coded burst transmission from Freerah; "They've locked me out of all of the public systems."
He knew that he and the others, who had also received the same message, had to be ready for anything and prepared to use whatever amount of force that was necessary to protect themselves and all the humans with them and it seemed warranted when they entered the main chamber and saw the faces of those that sat within it. All eyes were on them and even those that had had some sympathy for their plight the day before seemed displeased with their presence. He also noted that there were three times as many guards present as the previous day.
He looked to the two Fashke representatives and saw that they had wrapped themselves in a protective cocoon around Colonel Harding. Then it hit Matt as to what may have upset them and thought, "They couldn't have found out. We only heard about it just before we arrived."
Farada, who also looked upset, greeted them then acted on Jason's request for those who wanted to stay and represent him: Colonel Harding was to remain with the Faske representatives and be covered by their diplomatic immunity. The two who were to stay with Jolle, unlike Harding, would have limited diplomatic immunity and were to be under hir care and command at all times. She then stared into Jason's eyes and stated that, "These requests were granted only because they have been under your direct command since they had left Earth."
His original fears turned out to be well founded when she produced a small (for her size) piece of paper and had a page carry it over to Jason while she asked, "Is what is in that official document from Earth true?"
He watched Jason's face go from shock when he started to read it to anger when he looked up at her and asked, "How did you get this?"
"How I obtained it does not matter." Farada's eyes narrowed, "Please answer my question."
His eyes were locked with hers when he answered, "Yes."
"I see." She took in a slow breath before she spoke. "Because of what is on that official Earth government document it will be impossible for the Kroonad to authorize any form of aid in your people's war with the Sorris if no member who stands above two meters will be allowed to set foot on the world where you were born." She looked to her left where sat the only member of the Dorzeli contingent, Kressa Felhas. She looked back at them and added, "They won't even allow those members of the Dorzeli that are allied to them onto Earth's surface."
Matt watched as Jason and Freerah's eyes locked on Krassa. He felt their anger build, as well as his own while he thought, "How did they find out about this and why didn't they not bring it up when we were in here yesterday and what does she have to do with it? We didn't receive the message until just before we arrived in system."
Instructed to have kept the information on that form a secret since its reception from the humans on board the ship so that they could not blurt it out by accident he knew that the leak could have come from only one source. He looked to the side and saw that Freerah had looked upset when she glanced at his sister before she returned her attention to the council members when Farada announced that, "As our custom each representative will comment on this situation before the final official judgment is made." And so they did; most only regretted Earth's decision but a few chastised humans in general.
The anger that had built up all that time came to a head when Krassa added; "I cannot understand what my fellow Dorzeli ever saw in such a cowardly species that claims to be Earth's apex sentient predator. You'd think that they were some lowly prey species." She smirked and stared at the humans in Jason's party and grinned. "Maybe they are."
Jason's roar of, "Enough!" quieted everyone within the chamber and Matt watched in horror when both Freerah's and Jason's hoods opened and the red circles on them become solid disks. His glowed and he bared his fangs with each word he spoke.
"We came here and gave you proof that the Sorris are developing banned weapons and to ask for your help and all you have given us are complaints about the human race in return." During a brief moment of silence the Soct and other guards prepared themselves for anything. Then it seemed that their preparations were about to be needed when Jason's horns glowed bright blue and he growled, "If you can be so blind as not to see that if they conquer Earth and Mendall they'll turn their sights upon you next then none of you deserve your positions."
Matt was further shocked when, instead of unleashing their anger upon the assembly, Freerah turned to where his sister, Daihas and some of the humans were on her right, fired her power beams and swept them across the entire area where they stood. Their bodies glowed for a brief second then vanished.
He looked back to Jason as alarms sounded within the chamber and saw that he was prepared to do the same to the rest of them. He turned to Feih, who was also shocked at what had happened, and began to mouth, "I love..." when everything went bright light blue then dark.
Guards and regular defense forces that had taken up positions outside the Kroonadem's main entrance, both on foot and in armored vehicles, just in case trouble erupted went on full alert when the alarm klaxons sounded from its central tower. Within seconds all hand held and mounted guns had their sites trained on it with the intention of stopping the escape of the two Dorzeli Primes. The echoes of rapid heavy footfalls signaled that they did not have long to wait.
Commander Kolva Gelya, leader of the joint unit, checked the power readings of the vehicle's sensor array and those mounted in the passageway. All eyes turned to hir when shi gasped, "Their in full battle mode."
Those who had heard hir over their communication links either prayed and/or made their peace with their race's deity or deities; they knew that even their heaviest weapons would be inadequate to deal with such power.
Even with this near impossible task before hir and the forces under hir command shi was still determined not to let hir sister, who had been inside the chamber, down and maybe gain some measure of revenge for hir possible death as shi had lost contact with hir the moment the alarms sounded. But when shi heard a familiar voice over hir headset hir own was a mix of joy and panic when shi shouted, "Secure all weapons and stand down! Anyone who does not obey will be personally answerable to Minister Farada Heilo." Shi barely had time to repeat the message when, at a full run, Freerah emerged from the building.
Kolva watched in stunned silence when the Dorzeli Prime filled a space that could fit four of hir Soct subordinates with ease. Three thunderous steps later the entire area in front of the Kroonadem entrance in shadow when she opened her wings to their full span. After anther two and one mighty downbeat from them she was airborne and above hir position.
All those who looked up as she passed over them were awed by her size and form. Kolva even felt a bit of envy and arousal over her figure. The one thing they did not feel was the hurricane force winds they should have felt with Freerah's second beat her wings. It took most one a second to realize that she had switched over to her higher powers for her ability to fly. It was the same when Jason passed over them a few seconds later except he seemed to falter a bit before he managed to use his power to follow his mate into the sky above the city.
Kolva turned back to the entrance and saw that both of the Primes had left deep imprints and claw marks in the pavement then asked hir sister, "What was that energy burst all about?" When shi heard what happened shi checked hir sensor's last reading before the Primes were beyond their range and breathed a sigh of relief. "At least your new friends are alright."
Jolle looked from the still smoldering remains of the chamber's doors to hir two human companions who, like Farada, did not look as alarmed at what had just occurred as everyone else. "No one was harmed. Is there any sign that they may turn around." There was a short pause then shi smiled. "They've met up with the escorts? Good. I'll talk to you later." Shi disconnected and saw from the corner of hir eye that Krassa had left the council chamber. Shi looked to Farada who smirked, nodded then announced a temporary recess until the blast doors were replaced.
Jolle turned back to hir two human companions and folded hir clawed hands together at hir waist. "Your first official duty as my apprentices in Kroon security will be to participate in an interrogation of one of the individuals that we believe to be responsible for all of this." When shi saw that they looked reluctant about what tasks shi may give them shi added. "I promise that you won't have to physically touch the individual and that you'll find my techniques to be quite stimulating." They thought about it then gave hir their final answer. The toothy grin shi showed them when shi said "Excellent" made them have second thoughts.
Thirty minutes earlier Fronas Inais had just finished his overnight tour thirty minutes before Jason and Freerah's departure where he had carried out Krassa's secret orders. He had almost made it out of the main door of the security office when he was confronted by a black and white striped female Dorzeli-An dressed in an security uniform. He panicked and managed to push past into the corridor where he was confronted by two larger, similar uniformed and heavily armed male Dorzeli-Ki who, after a short struggle, retrained his arms, prehensile twin tails and muzzled him for the protection of non-Dorzeli.
They turned him to face the female officer who smiled then said, "As you see not all of us are under Shiru's influence." Then in a formal tone, she announced, "You are under arrest and will be taken to an interrogation chamber where you will be questioned as to your ties with Shiru and any of his suspected allies."
He wondered what would happen to him throughout the duration of his undignified trip to the underground detention area but was determined that even if they went back to the "old ways" that there was nothing that they could do to him that would force him to give up Shiru's plans. But after they got to the room that would be his cell they stripped and shackled him to a huge upright metal frame with his legs spread to expose his genital slit.
He tried to protest this last move but was interrupted by his escort; "You have nothing to worry about." She backed away and looked over the standard brown male. "No one is going to touch you unless you truly deserve it." She grinned in a way that disturbed him left with the others through the left doorway.
He pondered what was going to happen to him if they were not going to torture him until a door to his right opened. When he saw who walked toward him his resolve faltered; he was about to be exposed to something that few Dorzeli had ever managed to resist.
To be continued.
Sorry for the 3 month delay but ive been going through a lot in my private life. But I am happy to say that anyone who wants to know what happens in that room will find out soon after the next chapter is posted as a stand alone.
