Dark Origins:
Kralken Four Part 2
Matt was in awe at how well his and Feih's temporary quarters were furnished from where he stood in its doorway. From its bed that was more than big enough for four Dorzeli-Ki, upon which Feih had already sat, which caused him to smile, to its furnishings that would have put any luxury suite in any hotel he knew of to shame.
"I hope that your accommodations for the night are adequate."
He stepped into the room and turned to face Farada Heilo, the Prime Minister of the Kroon Empire, who remained in the wide hallway with Jason and Freerah. "It's much more than that just like that banquet you threw for everyone. It's been a long time since I've had food that tasted so good." He patted his slightly swollen stomach and licked his snout; despite how careful he had been during dinner he still could taste the remnants of his meal. It was all he could do not to drool.
"I am glad that you and the others enjoyed our food."
"It was delicious," chimed in Jason from her rear.
She turned her head and grinned. "Probably not as much as what you may have had on your most recent journey, but we try our best to accommodate all races who visit our planet."
Matt felt a blush start, but somehow manage not to let the memories of his exploits fluster him.
Jolle showed up from around a corner that led to a dead end and announced; "All the humans have been situated in their rooms." She looked to Freerah and Jason. "I was wondering if I could stay and learn more about human culture and customs."
He assumed from the sly grin on hir snout that from hir obvious flirtatious conversations with three lower ranked officers during dinner what hir true motives for hir possible overnight stay. He did have some reservations about hir size and hir species predatory nature, but he did not give voice to them because of the nature of their visit.
Jason did not seem concerned when he replied, "As long as they have no problem with it."
Farada added, "Just remember to let them get enough rest for tomorrow."
Jolle bowed to them all. "I thank you and I'll make sure not to keep them up too late." When shi stood up Matt saw a hint of a smile on hir snout when shi turned and walked back around the corner to the cul-de-sac where the human quarters were; the only way out was an emergency exit.
Farada turned and addressed Jason and Freerah: "That reminds me that I need to talk to you both on some critical matters that may affect your appeal tomorrow."
Freerah half smiled. "That would be good because Jason also needs to learn more about the Kroon Empire, its people and customs."
Matt watched with some curiosity when they retired to the suite next to his and Feih's, then smiled, shook his head and turned and saw that Feih had already stripped off her uniform and had reclined onto the large bed.
He touched the doors control panel to close it, took off his suit and said, "You didn't waste any time."
"I always wanted to be with my mate on a Kroon held world and I also wanted to take your mind off Paredt."
He hesitated for a moment when he thought about the Soriss they had taken captive on Nagatok. Ever since he bit both him and his brother he had felt a sense of affection for the two, especially Paredt, who, unlike his younger brother Jasdik, would soon develop into a Dorzeli-Ki with whom he would have to "enforce" the fact that he was the male alpha of the Desslats and that he, Paredt, was a subordinate. This, on top of the fact that he would soon have to do the same with Daihas, Feih's brother, before he is challenged again, had him worried about both sexual encounters where he would have to dominate each male and for that matter every adult member of her immediate family.
"From the look on your face during our meal I thought you were still worrying a about him again."
Matt tensed but looked at her and saw that she was not upset so he relaxed and sat next to her. "I thought I could get through this without a problem, but I've been getting these feelings for him. I-I just don't know what to do."
She sat up and caressed his neck with her right hand. "Avoiding them the way you have isn't going to help, but you have several months until Paredt's change is complete so by then you should have long since satisfied your obligation with my brother and family."
Before he could say anything in response she leaned in close and licked along his neck. He closed his eyes and churred. When she stopped she added, "Until then you can continue to fulfill your duties as my mate."
Eased by her reassurances Matt pushed her onto her back and growled, "That's something I'm more than willing to do right now."
Outside, in front of the main entrance to the Kroonadem a large surface car pulled came to a full stop in front of the two Soct and four Klavar guards on duty. They knew who it belonged to and did their best to maintain their professional composure when Krassa Felhas stepped out and approached the highest ranked Klavar so that he could check her ID and scan her.
She gave it to him and after a quick check he looked back to her and commented that, "You missed the banquet they had for Freerah her new mate and the humans they brought with them."
She did not look back at him when she answered, "I've already eaten and they'll probably be in their quarters by now so I'll see them in the morning."
He smirked under his helmet's facemask and waved her through when the doors opened. Unknown to her one of the female Socts smirked underneath his helmet as she entered the building. She waited until the doors closed behind her before she spoke up; "I wonder what she and Shriu are up to now?"
Her commander taped the side of his helmet, "Be careful. He has ears everywhere," then typed out a message on his pad and thought, "But so do we."
Upon entry to her room Krassa went straight to her desk and pulled out a small terminal and entered an encrypted message. Seconds later she pulled out a smaller portable unit, disrobed and put on an all black suit, checked the time on her internal chronometer and sat down to wait for the reply.
Seconds later the shifts changed in the building's security control room. After some notes were exchanged and the Dorzeli-An male half of that nights team sat down just in time to receive a coded message on the main console disguised as a coded greeting from Krassa as he had just come back from vacation. Before anyone else could notice his actions he brought up the corridor of the guest level and rerouted an image that replayed on main monitor feed scenes from a few days earlier when the area had been sealed off then checked the time for when he would have to restore the true live feed and waited.
A PDA within one of the few guest rooms that housed a single lone human lit up and displayed a translated message that contained instructions with a precise schedule. The individual scrambled to their personal case, pulled out a single metal disk, a black suit and respirator, donned it, activated its nanotech systems, put the disk into a pouch in the suit then waited at the room's door.
Krassa counted down the seconds then activated her suit's passive anti-surveillance systems, opened a panel in the back of her bedroom and entered a dark and long forgotten access tunnel that had been sealed off soon after the building's construction and made her way toward the guest area.
Right on schedule the door opened and the suited human stepped out into the empty corridor, looked to the dead end that had an alarmed emergency exit then to the bend that would lead to the rendezvous and right by the quarters of the most dangerous members of the visiting group. Trained for such a circumstance the individual eased around the corner and stayed against the near wall to stay out of the sight of any potential guards at the next intersection. That was when the heads up display indicated an impending power surge due to a fault in the suit's circuitry. Before anything could be done it sent out a mild harmless energy pulse.
Panic gripped the human as the last doorway on the opposite side that lead to the only beings that could sense such an event without instrumentation had not been passed. That person froze in place when, to their horror, that very same door opened. Then everything went black.
