well here is part two of Dachii's story i hope you readers enjoys it
Chapter 2
I thought I could trust you
Carlos escorted me back to the room when it changed back I noticed something different there was a window and a picture under the lamp
I picked up the picture first and looked at it
It was Tye from not to long ago with his friends this brought back a few memories and brought a tear to my eye
"Thanks Carlos" I whispered to myself
I looked out of the window it was dark out but when I looked carefully I could see dimly the island
It made me feel like I was that much closer to home, I knew Carlos was a nice person he is Tye's father after all, and he really did care for me
I climbed up onto the bed and faced the window, I grabbed my tail and took a deep breath before I closed my eyes and fell asleep
I dreamt of being home with Tye I was really looking forward to seeing him again, would he still be able to recognize me even though I'm smaller
I can't wait, my friend is waiting for me, I just hope I haven't left him alone and worried... but I'd say he can handle himself but I'm not sure about myself ... I don't think I could handle life if I was ever alone for long...
When I woke the door was still there but no one else was in the room with me
I wondered why it was there, are they giving me the privilege to wander this place and explore?
My curiosity took hold of me as I pulled myself out of bed and walked out the door, I looked around but no one was around in the halls maybe I should look for that map Carlos showed me
I walked down the hall until I saw the familiar board just ahead of me
I walked up to it and examined the floor I was on but there didn't seem to be much here, I then took a glance at the first floor and saw all of the different rooms and the arrows pointing out of the building that read Exit
I found there was a staircase only a few feet away and decided to take them I wanted to see what else was here
I managed to finally get down the stairs without tripping and pushed open the door to the first floor
There were many doors a lot of them were locked but there was a hallway with a large viewing window where you could see all of the experiments going on inside, I saw a few of these machines putting parts together and these suits that people were wearing that made them move faster, but there was one experiment that caught my eye
There was a large container just like the one I was in and it was filled with liquid, and floating in the liquid was a creature that looked like another dragon but it was a dark green color
Were they making copies of me? What could they need to make another dragon for?
I stared into the glass trying to figure out the strange reason that they were creating creatures
Suddenly it opened its eyes and stared back at me, I was caught off guard and slipped on my tail
I fell to the floor before pulling myself back up quickly and running away from the container and far down the hall
I turned into a dead end but I knew I was far away enough not to have to worry, it had awoken just as I approached, it must have sensed me, why was I afraid I was created the same way...
I heard a commotion coming from a room a few feet away, it sounded like Carlos and another voice
"We can't let it leave the labs until we find a use for it, it's much to dangerous to let it go out in public" a loud and unfamiliar voice could be heard from the hallway
I pushed the door in slightly so I could see into the room
Carlos was standing there looking slightly upset as a larger man was yelling at him
"He is a living creature, it wouldn't be right to keep him here" Carlos yelled back at the large man
"No, it will remain here until further instruction"
It then hit me, the word "it" and "he" were referring to me, it seems only Carlos cared, did the rest of this entire place not care if I could live my life without worry about me being dangerous?
Was I dangerous to anyone? This is the first time I ever really thought about it ... if I was to dangerous I might hurt Tye
My head drooped as I realized that I would never be allowed to see him... they didn't care and I know if I did hurt anyone Carlos wouldn't care, he would discard me like trash
I couldn't let this happen; I had only just started living
Things wouldn't turn out well if they saw me standing here; I bet it would make them not trust me even more than they don't already
I quietly snuck by the door and headed back down the hallway I went past the other contained dragon covering my eyes as I went by there was a hall way to my right and I saw at the end there was another board with a map
"Wow... that's lucky" I said as I ran up to the board
I examined the floor and found that the stairs were only on hall over and I could find my room from there
I quickly started to run toward the next hall, then I heard a sound that made me panic
Footsteps and someone mumbling ... crap it was Carlos
I had to hide but there were no doors close enough to run to, I was trapped
As he was about to enter this hallway an idea struck me, I leaped up and flew to the ceiling and wrapped my tail around one of the bars hanging from the ceiling, I hung upside down from the ceiling waiting for Carlos to pass, if he caught me I would be in serious trouble
Carlos walked into one of the rooms near the end of the hall as I sighed in relief, I floated down to the ground and continued my trek back to the room
I had found the stairs and started climbing, it's a lot harder going up then it is going down
But I managed to get up all of those stairs and I found my room
I quickly walked in to find everything the same way as I had left it
I was breathing heavily from both exhaustion and panic; I had almost been caught who knows what would have happened to me if I had been seen
I closed the door behind me and it vanished before my eyes
Why was it there in the first place? Was someone trying to show me something? Was it to show me my fate?
I was so confused what was going to happen now that man said that I was to dangerous to be let out, what was I to do
I jumped onto my bed and cried; at this rate I would never see Tye, and if what that man said was true... I may never be able to leave here... ever
I felt as if I was in pain my insides burnt from my anguish, Why Tye... Why did you let them make me real? This world is so painful, everyone here doesn't care, I wish I could go back and tell myself not to agree to it
Even if I wasn't real there, at least I'd be with you
I slowly cried myself to sleep I felt terrible from what I had heard and I felt terrible from blaming Tye for my pain
My sleep was filled with torment, nothing seemed to sooth me mo matter what I thought about it always led to something terrible
I felt so trapped, seeing Tye's face in my dreams only made it worse, it was taunting on something I could never go back to
My friend... I'm sorry
I was awoken bluntly by being shaken
"Wake up! Runt"
Who was this? I had heard this voice before
I opened my eyes quickly in surprise, to my shock it was that large man from yesterday
He grabbed my arm and pulled me up to his eye level
His eyes were a piercing green the look he gave me scared me speechless
"You were out of your room!" he yelled at me
I think that's all this man ever did just yell at people, but how did he know there was no way he had seen me
"How did you escape!" he yelled at me again this time he raised his hand in an offensive position
I tried to curl up expecting an impact; I feared this would be very painful
"Stop!" Carlos grabbed his arm "what do you think your doing, you're not even allowed in this vicinity"
I looked at Carlos, he was defending me he really is the only one I can seem to depend on, but why was he doing this, if he had seen me before did he just turn a blind eye
"I'm head of security and this thing left it's containment" he waved me around and threw me against the bed, lucky it is soft or that would have hurt
He called me a thing; I wasn't a thing... not anymore
"It doesn't matter he is back here now the matter has been handled, now I will ask you to leave" Carlos pointed towards the door
The man gave me one last mean look and grunted before walking away "if I ever catch that thing out of this area, I won't hesitate to take drastic measures" and with that he left going off to who knows where, I didn't care as long as he wasn't near me
I sat up on the bed and then Carlos glared at me with a disappointed look
I felt very scared now what was he going to do, I felt terrible for having caused him trouble ... he hates me now... doesn't he
"Are you alright?" his look changed from disappointed to worried
I was fine but now I was confused is he mad...
"I ...I'm fine..." a few tears came down my face "I'm sorry..." I started to sob into my hands
This was terrible what was going on? I was so confused... I felt he was mad, I knew I had caused a lot of trouble... I just wanted to explore I didn't mean anything by it
I felt his arms wrap around me and I heard him trying to get me to calm down, my tears soaked his jacket as I cried into his shoulder
"It's alright... it's alright... please stop crying, I'm not mad at you" he said
"You ... hate me now... don't you" I said still crying into his shoulder
"Why would I hate you... you didn't do anything" he said calmly as he pulled me away and tried to dry my tears
"I wanted to see how to leave and I heard you and that man arguing... I'm never going to see Tye... " I started crying again
"shh... please stop crying... you will see Tye, that man is a fool I don't think he understands the reasons why you're here"
He didn't understand? What about me, nothing was told to me, what was I here for?
I slowly brought myself together and wiped what tears were left over onto the sleeve of my clothing
"I understand why you would want to leave this place, this is no place to keep a young dragon... you should be home with me and Tye..." he said softly to me
"I just want to leave..." I said and it was true, out of all the things I wanted leaving here and finding Tye were the only things I cared about right now
"I know ... but we need to finish the last few tests... and then I will make sure we go home to Tye" he pulled me up over his shoulder
It must have looked strange for him to be carrying a small dragon on his shoulder, but I felt comfortable with him carrying me
He was treating me like a child, possibly making up for time lost with Tye
Come to think of it... everyone was treating me like a child except the some scary few
It seems my small stature has effected how people treat me but I can't say I know how they would treat me if I was in my full form
Carlos carried me to the test room and set me down on the floor, he went to the counter to pick up his clip board and came back to instructed me on the last few tests
"Are you feeling a little better?" Carlos asked me
"Yea" I answered
He had made me feel a lot better from that little incident with the head of security
"Ok good now let's finish this up alright" he said and I nodded
They put me in this long tunnel like room and said to prepare to fly so I spread my wings and waited for there command
All of a sudden a massive burse of wind can from one side of the room and almost slammed me into the wall luckily I caught myself just in time to start flapping my wings and fly against the current air current
The wind started to help with my flying all I had to do was glide now but I wasn't really moving anywhere
A small blue light came on in the front of the tunnel and the air current started flowing faster, now I had to flap to try to stay in the same place, but I felt a surge of energy and started pushing farther than I normally did it seemed to work I found the perfect place to glide
Then I heard a slight beep when a red light came on at the front, the winds became more frantic and there were pulses of air in many directions I had to focus and move very quickly just to stay afloat I had a few near falls but I always managed to balance myself, I don't know why but I soon found myself liking the harsh winds I felt exhilarated and loved the feeling of the winds flowing beneath me
After a few minutes the winds started to slow down and the lights near the front shut off
Carlos opened the door and walked in after the winds had stopped
"that was fun! Can we do that again sometime?" I asked smiling at him
He laughed "sure, we can try that another time but now we have to do the next test, only two more" he patted my back and gestured me to follow him
We walked up to a small table with a chair next to it he told me to sit
I sat down in the chair and pulled myself in towards the table, Carlos put a piece of paper on the table and handed me a pen
"What's this for?" I asked as I examined the pen
"It's for writing, we need to test if you can write that way we may be able to put you through school" Carlos answered
I was surprised, they wanted to put me through school just like Tye, I already knew what most of the letters looked like I had been able to type them but I had never needed to write them down before
"Then what do I write?" I asked putting the pen in my claw properly so that I can write
"here" he put his clip board on the table next to the paper "copy down what it says here" he told me, I put the pen to paper and began to write, it was a bit tougher than I thought, my writing was pretty messy but I managed to get down the words
When I was done Carlos took his clipboard and the paper and looked at it
"Well you did well for your first time writing but it's still a bit messy, don't worry you'll get a lot of practice in school" he said attaching the paper to a form on the board
I got up from the seat and walked towards him "are there anymore tests left?" I asked impatiently
"Yes there is... but there's a problem... the equipment we were supposed to be using isn't here" he said sounding a little annoyed
"What?!" I shouted, if the equipment wasn't here where was it? I wanted to finish the tests so I could go home
"this is unfortunate, I was hoping to finish early" he looked a bit upset but then he shook it off as he looked at me "how about I bring you back to your room for now and then I'll go find that equipment and start the tests, sound good?"
"Umm well... do you think we could get something to eat first, I'm getting hungry" I put my hand on my belly and looked up at him
He chuckled a bit "alright we'll go now but we have to eat quick so I can go look for the equipment"
I nodded and we headed to get food
When we got into the room Ace wasn't there at the table and neither was the doc
"I guess we're eating alone for now" Carlos told me as he sat me down at the table and went off to get the food
I kind of missed the feeling of Ace being here, he always treated me so nicely and told me stories about his family that seemed to help us bond, but he wasn't here now I felt kind of lonely even with so many other people in the room
Carlos came back with the food this time he seemed to bring more meat than anything else, my mouth watered at the sight of it all
"I noticed the other day that you liked the steak, you seem to like your meats hopefully this will taste really good"
As soon as he started eating I stuffed my face into the meat, forget about a fork and knife when you got strong choppers like these
I quickly munched down all of the food only leaving a few bones there which I licked clean
Carlos looked at me strangely before laughing, I didn't get was so funny until I realized I was eating like an animal and that there was a large scrap of chicken on the top of my muzzle, I quickly used my long tongue to slurp it into my mouth, and wiped what remnants where left over on my face with a napkin Carlos gave me
After the little clean up he took me to the bathroom and I did what I had learned to do I felt a little less pressure in my gut now and I could clean up much better now but I won't say any detail
He led me back to my room and said that he would be back once he had gotten the equipment before he left closing the door behind him and it disappeared
I decided to gaze out of that window that was there, it was brighter now and you could clearly see the island and the mansion on it, I stared at it hoping that Tye might come out and start waving to me, but that never happened I knew it was only a thought, a small wish that would never happen
Suddenly the window opened and a rush of air blow me backwards, I pushed against the wind and thought of my chance to go through I leaped and flapped my wings pushing against the current
I started going faster than the wind; I had picked up speed and charged at the open window, I could almost taste freedom until I slammed into something hard
There was some kind of force field stopping me from going out of the window and it had pushed me back causing me to land on the floor
The wind suddenly stopped and the window had closed, as I lay my head down in defeat on the floor I noticed the door had reappeared
What was going on? I had to know, something was trying to show me something that's the only reason something like this could happen, so I took the risk of getting caught and left the room
I went into the hallway luckily no one was there, but there was a strange sound coming from the stairs
I decided to follow it, what ever was causing things to happen must be trying to contact me
The sound was coming from the lower floor I followed the noise to the source it was that same hall with the experiments being shown in the glass I walked by that container but this time it was empty, I stared into the empty glass, it was weird I was once in one of those
I noticed a strange reflection, it was me and that other dragon was behind me,
I quickly turned around and to my surprise no one was there but that was scary, was I seeing things?
I looked to my left and I saw there was another window, despite that little scare I was curios why I hadn't looked into that one before
I looked through it and what I saw shocked me
It was Ace, he had the other dragon strapped to some kind of machine and what it was doing seemed painful, how could he do such a thing? that poor dragon was suffering I couldn't stand to watch as I tried to look away I saw Carlos just idly standing by on the side lines, what was he doing in there? Did he have something to do with this? Was this the equipment he was trying to get?
There was a series of sparks coming off of the other dragon it seemed like it was going through a massive amount of pain as these needle arms were doing something to its spine and neck
The other dragon looked at me, it had spotted me with the saddest face and I could have sworn it was mouthing the words ‘run away, get away from here' fear enticed my entire body, what were they doing to it?
It looked at me in the eyes one more time before one final shock went through it and it seemed to change, like it had no control of itself any luster that was once in it's eyes was gone
It was released from its bonds and it stood up, Ace looked like he was talking to it and made a strange hand motion
And right as the motion was complete it spit small flares in the air
I knew what they had done; they were controlling it now like a robot, the perfect tool
Why would they do this? My head was puzzled by the question, I saw Carlos pulling the machine from the side and bringing it into an elevator
"Oh no!" I said to myself
I knew what was going on and I knew I was next, I had to get away this is no place for a dragon like me
I ran through the halls I remember the map it said that the exit wasn't to far from here hopefully I wouldn't run into any trouble
... Damn why do I have to think like that
Right in front of me blocking the only way to the exit was the head of security
He smiled wickedly at me
"You're a dead runt" he lunged toward me
I leaped and flapped once jumping strait over him, I spun around quickly and felt a pulse in my chest I knew this was the time to use my natural abilities
I took a deep breath in and blew, a large ball of fire flew quickly through the air in front of me and towards the large man, it's strange how fast he could run, he just barely ducked into the stairwell before the fire ball could hit him
I took this as my chance to get away I ran towards the exit I saw the sign and I lunged through the door and took off
The open air was crisp but still warm I had never felt the fresh air before and now I was going to fly away in it
I opened my wings and flew there was little in my way I went off not knowing where to go but all I knew was I was free... but I was lost
My own fear blinded me from what I was really trying to do, I took this as my chance now all I had to do was find Tye, I didn't know where I was going, but I knew that leaving that lab got me one step closer to finding him
"Tye ... I'm coming ... I miss you... please... guide me to you"
