i finally wrote this and guess what i'd say it turned out pretty well
anyway this story may not make sense to you unless you read my other series "island mansion" so if you haven't done so i'd suggest you do that now, but if you want to read this anyway go ahead be my guest i hope you all enjoy it
I'm real (scales and wings)
Chapter 1
Welcome to the real world Dachii
My eyes open to find I'm in some strange liquid, where am I? What is this stuff? Who am I?
I try to move in this strange liquid but it was really dense all I can do is move my arms a little
A figure is approaching me from outside my liquid prison, it's a man and he looks strangely familiar... but I don't know from where I can't remember anything
"It looks like he's ready" I hear the muzzled voice of the man out side
A loud noise shakes the container holding me in this state as the liquid slowly drained away below me
A grasp the edges of the container to try to steady myself but I just can't seem to pull myself up I feel so weak
"Welcome to the real world... Dachii" the man spoke from behind the glass
Is that my name? Dachii... where have I heard that before?
I tried to speak but all that came out was a weak chirp
The man on the other side laughed "it's ok Dachii we'll get you out of there, you need to rest and get used to your body... then we can restore your memories"
My memories... they stole them didn't they, what would they want with me?
I was angry and I lunged forward slamming into the glass, it hurt, apparently my body is still fragile and weak
"Calm down, its ok" the man reassured me
I looked him in the eyes and I felt I could trust him, whatever they were doing to me it couldn't have been bad, could it?
The glass container slowly lowered itself and two men with a small stretcher came and carried me off through a long hall way and into a small room that was completely white
That man that had spoken to me before entered the room and stood by me
"were going to turn on the simulator now so the room is going to change, we need you to get some rest and when you wake up, we'll explain everything" he petted me on the head avoiding my small horns and walked out of the room
I didn't understand what he meant when he said the room was going to change until before my eyes it transformed into what looked like a small cubical with a bed and a small bedside lamp
I was amazed at what had just happened but it felt all too familiar, what was going on? This made no sense; I got really frustrated and slammed my claw against the bed in anger
It felt so soft and inviting just feeling it had calmed me down, I then realized how tired I really was and lay on the bed
I lay there curled up holding onto my tail which seems to be as very comforting, I pulled the blanket over me, this feeling of tiredness and comfort I had never felt before, it had no familiarity but I felt that it was right
I drifted into a strange state as my mind began to drift
"Dachii..."
"you're my friend and you always have been"
"I wanted to make you real"
"thank you"
Images blurred before my eyes were these memories I had to know
It looked like a teenage boy who was speaking to me every time, who was he? And why do I know him?
My eyes open and I find myself sitting in a large metal chair with my arms and legs restrained
I feel panic until I feel a hand touch the side of my muzzle
"Your awake, you had quite a nap, about 43 hours" the man from before said
I had calmed down a little bit and took a deep breath and attempted to speak
"wh-where... where am ... I ...?"
My voice was strangely scratchy and a bit high pitched, I didn't know why but I couldn't remember what my voice ever really sounded like
"Ah good you can speak... well I can tell you, you are in a lab right now"
I look at him and then I look around again, my vision is a little blurry but it's improving slowly
"Who ...are you? ..." I ask quietly
"I am someone you know from not to long ago; when we restore your memories you'll remember me"
I growled a little bit and I try to yell
"Why ... do you.. Have my... memories..."
I was still very tired and did not have the strength to speak much
The man's hand went and rubbed my head
"it's ok... we'll explain everything very soon , just stay calm and let us restore your memories" he pulled a large bulb like helmet over my head "just relax" he said as he walked away
I heard a noise outside of the thing on my head, there were many clicks and buzzes, what where they doing?
That man said to relax I guess I just have to trust him, I lean my head back and then I see the bulb around my head start to glow
I take a deep breath and try to stay calm, a light from the bulb felt like it was penetrating my skull it was a little painful but I started to remember things
"Dachii..."
"Hey Tye"
"There they are"
There was a small shock but it didn't bother me, my mind was to distracted from the incoming thoughts
"WAKE UP TYE"
"They might be important"
"I'll wait for you here"
"Hey Dachii"
"You look a bit upset, what happened?"
"Wish I could be like them...only...there's no one for me..."
"I know a day at the beach sounds like it'll work"
"I'm enjoying myself right here"
So many memories were flooding into my head, was this really all of my memories?
"Having fun without me?"
"It's so hard to figure...people ...out"
"Widen your perspective"
"You seem to hide it, just like everyone else"
"You're my buddy and I don't want to miss out on much"
"It must really be important"
"What is it?"
"Tye...wake up"
"Oh no!"
Tye... I remember you now ... how could I forget
"I wouldn't say you're the worst..."
"It's been a long time"
"Don't be afraid, you know that what they feel is real..."
"Promise when you get back you'll come to see me..."
"I wanted to see you one last time..."
"I know what comes next... your going to delete me..."
Something Tye said rang out in my head
"Dachii, ever since I can remember I've been trying my hardest to make you... real"
A thought accord to me, I wasn't real ... it didn't make sense how could I have memories if I had never existed
"I never knew... you cared so much"
"Why did you have to give me emotion?"
"I want to make it real for Tye"
"Want you guys to have the best night of your lives"
"Every body ... look up"
The light from the bulb was fading slowly a few more memories entered my head
"Thank you Dachii"
"There is a way"
"You have one chance"
"I'll do it"
"I'll see you when you wake up... in our world... Dachii"
The bulb over my head slowly removed itself; my mind felt like it was ready to burst
However I felt happy that my memories had returned to me, and I even feel a little foolish for getting frustrated
The man approached me and seemed to be examining me
"Dachii... are you alright?"
I looked up at him slowly as my head started to feel more stable
"Carlos? ..." I spoke weakly
He smiled "you do remember me, this is great you're turning out to be successful, in your transition"
"Transition?" I asked
"Yes, you were created by stimulating cells to multiply and make a biological body for you, and then all we had to do was transmit your memories back to you"
"... Where is Tye?" I spoke I was confused, I remembered Tye said he would see me when I woke up... where was he... where was my friend?
"Dachii, Tye isn't here but you can see him soon but we need to do a few tests first before we can bring you to him"
"Why can't I see him now?!" I yelled, it came out loud and clear this time, I was angry I wanted to see him and I wouldn't be denied
Carlos tried to calm me again I looked into his eyes only to see he wasn't trying to stop me
"It's alright Dachii... I'll help you, we can do this test within a few days and then you can come home with me and see Tye... ok?"
I was on the verge of tears, I was going to be stuck here for some time and I had no way of seeing my friend... I wish he was here
Carlos released the restraints holding me and gently pulled me to my feet
I could stand I was a little shaky at first but I had gotten the hang of it after a few falls and catches I was standing on my own hind legs... even though I always remembered walking on all fours, this just seemed right
"perfect your able to walk now how about we go do the other tests, the faster we do them the faster we can go home" Carlos said to me he held out his hand and I grabbed it
I followed him into the next room where there was a large metal table and a few stations set up all along the walls, I guess they were going to put me to the limit, but I'd do it one hundred times if it meant I could see Tye again
They stuck a lot of sensors to my body and they asked for me to try to run on a moving floor that they called a treadmill I went really fast I could barely see the floor beneath me
The next test was to measure me I don't know why but Carlos said they needed to make something fit in my size
They checked my wingspan and made sure I was able to properly move my body
They said that compared to my old self I was a little smaller, more of a young adolescent body rather than my adult body, even so it felt very different
Before I could never feel how my body reacted to the environment around me I was so used to changing it, I felt pain from hitting things , and a strange new pleaser from being petted, I had felt physical contact before but I couldn't compare to this
They said there was one more test before I had to go back to sleep, I was getting tired again like before, would it be the same?
They asked me to flap my wings and try to pull myself off of the floor, I unfolded my wings and spread them as I pushed them up and down I tried to go faster but all I got was a lot of air, but then I tried running and flapping it took a few tries but I had gotten into the air it was much harder than it used to be and it was very hard to control
I was really tired and I didn't know how to land, I was only a few feet off of the ground but I was moving quite fast
Then suddenly I slammed into something but I didn't hit the floor, Carlos had caught me, he looked a little in pain since I had hit him in the chest but he still cradled me close like a child after he had pulled himself together
As if on cue we heard a grumble and it was coming from me
Carlos laughed "you must be hungry, come on lets get you something to eat"
He then took me to a big room with tables set up everywhere, there were many people sitting at the tables they all looked so different I had never seen such a big crowd before
Carlos took me to one of the tables where there was another human sitting across from us and an iguana who looked quite lonely sitting a little farther down
"Hello Carlos" the human spoke up "who's this little guy" he smiled at me
"This is Dachii our most recent bio construction experiment" Carlos told them
Was I just some project to them? An experiment? No I wouldn't believe that Carlos wouldn't do that to me...
"Could you watch him Ace, while I get him some food" Carlos asked the iguana
"Sure thing... just hurry back" the iguana then looked at me as Carlos walked away
"Hey little guy" he pulled me closer to his side and he started to rub my head which I enjoyed a lot "you remind me a lot of my son..." I looked up at him and a small frown could be seen on his face
I thought maybe I could make him feel better but I didn't know how, I didn't like seeing other people sad, I had my emotions just like the ones Tye gave me, but more intense
I leaned in closely as he started to scratch this spot on my head that made me feel really comfortable I could have fallen asleep there, he really knew my weak spots maybe it's because he knew how to handle kids...
After a few minutes of almost falling asleep right in Ace's lap Carlos came back with two trays Ace helped me sit back up as I saw the food set before me
"I chose all soft food just incase your teeth are still a little sensitive" Carlos told me
There were mashed potatoes, apple sauce, and what looked like rice and gravy there was a glass of milk sitting by the plate on the tray
"Go ahead eat" Carlos told me as he stuck a fork into his food and took a bite "like this" he showed me again
I took a spoon that was there and did what he did; I took a spoonful of mash potatoes into my muzzle
It was great I had never known flavor before now I know why they eat
I continued to eat as I quickly devoured everything on my plate and then drank the milk and not failing to spill some on myself but I didn't care it was great
I leaned back I felt strangely content maybe that's why people are happier after they eat
A quick shot of gas came up through my throat and made a loud noise out of my mouth, I didn't know what it was but everyone at the table stared at me and made me blush
Carlos started laughing "we should teach you a few manners later, you sure can make a noise for one so little"
The others at the table just chuckled as I watched them finish there food
Carlos finally finished and got up "ok now that you've had your first meal it's time for bed" he said helping me out of the seat
I didn't argue I felt very tired I could barely stand, why does the body get tired I never used to sleep or ever need to
He took me to that same white room and told me good night as he shut the door and the room transformed again... this is what it must be like from the other side of the simulator... now I understand, this is what they go through and it still seems so real
But it's always been real to me; I used to always be here, so why does it feel so different
I jumped up onto the comfy bed and lay my head down on the pillow almost instantly passing out
"Dachii..."
"You have been my friend since you were imaginary"
Imaginary ... that word echoes through my mind, but why? Is it just because I wasn't always a physical being only just a little spark of imagination... what's really going on?
I'm just some creation of my friend's imagination, is that why I exist just to be there... what am I here for? ... does anyone ask that question to themselves? If there is an answer I don't know if I even want to know... I might not like the answer...
I woke up this time from an impact with the floor it hurt a little but it wasn't so bad
I rubbed the arm that I had fallen on and I felt something smooth but hard on my arm I turned on the lamp and saw that my scales where growing tougher, the sapphire color going all along my arms and going up my head, the scales all along my sides and tail were a deeper blue and the scales on my belly were a light blue green, they had grown in, that would explain why hitting the floor didn't hurt so much
And even stranger still I felt a bit lighter and there was a strange feeling in my chest, like some force keeping me warm
What happened to me? I stretched out my wings they felt more controllable as I flapped them I could freely float above the ground it was amazing
I drifted to my bed and sat down; I guess I just needed some time for this body to be ready
I felt so much better I was so excited maybe I could do the tests faster now and go see Tye
There was a noise coming from one of the walls, a door appeared and Carlos walked into the room
"It looks like you've gone through some changes" he said looking at me curiously
He gabbed something from his pocket and pressed a button
"Well your already awake, how about we do a few tests right now?"
I nodded at him and he put his hand out for me to grab
We walked out of the room and back into the test room that I was in earlier
He led me to a large bar that had two big metal objects on the end
"All you have to do is lift this a few times then we can move on" Carlos instructed
I put both of my claws under the metal bar and gripped it, I took a deep breath and pulled up, it was really heavy but it began to move and I was able to lift it just over my head before putting it down
Carlos told me to do it a few more times so I did and it became easier every time even though I was becoming more tired
"Ok good... just over 300lb now lets move on to the next test" he told me with some excitement in his voice
He put me in a container that was much like the last one I was in but this one has a tube going out of it
He instructed me to blow into the tube as hard as I could
I did so a few times and I felt very winded... I thought this was going to be easy but now I have my doubts
I was breathing deeply trying to catch my breath and then all of a sudden I felt a little pulse in my chest and I tried to blow into the tube one more time
This time a massive amount of fire came out it was strange it wasn't hot coming up my throat but you could feel the heat radiating from the area that it had gone to
When I had finally stopped I felt even more exhausted
"That was exactly what we were hoping for" Carlos said opening the tube
"What?" I asked
"You're able to breathe fire, it's quite amazing" he smiled at me
"... I'm really tired now... can we stop?" I asked still a little out of breath
"I guess you've had enough for now, but before we go back to the room I have to fit you with something" he pulled a box out from behind him
He pulled out a few pieces of clothing "here lets get these on you; you can't be going around naked all the time"
He handed me the clothes, I didn't understand I had never needed to wear these things, what were they even for?
I did as I was told as Carlos helped me into a tight one piece jump suit that fit quite snugly
They fitted my wings though holes in the back, with only my head, claws, tail, wings and feet showing I really didn't understand why I needed it, I wasn't cold and it was thin so it really was just wrapping around my body
I looked up at Carlos
"Why do I have to wear this?" I questioned
"Well it's because you're sentient enough to be civil so wearing clothes is better when we bring you around other people"
I still didn't get it, wouldn't it be better without this on you could still see the imprint of some of my scales through the fabric anyways
Carlos took my claw again and pulled me back to the room, he told me to get some rest because more tests were going be done soon
After lying down for sometime he came back and told me that they needed to do a physical check of my body before they did anymore testing
I went along with him back into the lab, the human from the other day was there, and they said he would be my doctor for now
He was a nice man as he used these devices to check what was going on inside my body, and he pricked me with this small device but it didn't hurt for long, he said that it would help me not get sick
He was very gentle when it came to my wings which I was grateful for, he looked at how my scales were growing and he looked at the new appendages that were between my legs, apparently Tye left those out of my original design I wonder why? Then he asked me a bunch of questions which he seemed surprised that I had answered
He showed me also this thing called a toilet and how to use it... it was complicated but I figured it out, I had to use a stool to get up to the sink but it was ok the water felt nice on my hands washing away any mess that I had managed to make
After we were done Carlos was still waiting for me and asked if I felt hungry
I was content for now but I said yes anyway since I wanted to taste more of that delicious food
We walked to the big room with the tables in it and I saw Ace sitting at the table so I walked up and tried to take a seat
I couldn't quite get up there and was struggling to jump on the seat without slipping, and then I got an idea
I flapped my wings a few times and pulled myself up onto the seat next to Ace
He smiled at me "looks like you learned to use your wings huh? Dachii" he then quickly petted my head
Carlos was smiling at both of us and he said he would go get the food again I wonder what he would bring this time
Ace started talking to me about his two sons he mentioned his older son who had moved out a while ago and he said that his other son decided to leave home, apparently he was very lonely he had no one to care for, sure he had time alone with his wife but they were both feeling the way most other empty nesters do ... I guess I know why he treats me so well
Carlos finally came back with the food for us, and this time there was a lot of different things
"The doc said you're in top condition so I'd say we celebrate" he smiled and then started to eat
I looked over my plates the array was massive for such a small tray
Fruits all along the edges with a few veggies mixed in with a goop like substance in the middle that they called yogurt
And on the other plate was something that smelt very delicious I'm not completely sure why but it drew me to it, there was a mid-rare steak sitting there looking juice and mine for the taking
I quickly devoured everything I even slurped down that yogurt the only time I used my fork and knife was to cut the steak
The meal was great I felt my belly bulging a little, I really have to learn where they get this stuff it's amazing
After we ate Carlos told me he had something he wanted to show me he helped me off of the seat I said goodbye to Ace before we walked into the hallway he took me to the end of the hall and showed me what looked like a large board
"this is the map to this entire place so if you ever end up getting lost you can use this to find your way back to your room which is right... here" he pointed to a square on a map that said 223
I looked at the map it was huge, this place had 7 floors my room the test room and the food place were all on the second floor
But there was a certain word that intrigued me there was only three of these in the entire building
