Advanced Soldier Program
A priority commission for
When a reporter is allowed to go on base to report a piece on a new military initiative he finds more then just a scoop waiting for him in the barracks.
Edgar had waited for nearly an hour inside the small and stuffy office, the light of the setting sun was hardly restrained by the dirty shades that hung in front of the window. For the fourteenth time he fumbled with his press badge, the only thing that's gotten him as far as he had. On the side wall the clock slowly ticked, reminding him each second that he had been kept waiting. He would have liked to go out and get something from the vending machine but he didn't know what the two armed soldiers that stood outside the door would have said. So instead he waited, the only solace in the half-filled cup of tepid water that he sipped on.
“Base Sargent Collins, Sir!" A sudden booming voice said suddenly that caused him to spill nearly half the glass on himself. “Reporter Edgar Monte waiting for you in your office as requested sir!"
“Thank you private." A slightly older voice said as Edgar looked behind him to see the one whom he guessed was the Base Sargent patting the other male on the shoulder. “You both are dismissed, return to your posts. And Mulcany, try to lay off the caffeine, announcements are supposed to be assertive and clear, not deafening."
“Apologies sir!" The overeager army grunt said before the two walked out of sight after a quick salute, which just left the Base Sargent as he walked inside. Edgar was slightly surprised at how young the man was, though he was older than most of the soldiers he passed it wasn't by much. In his relatively little experience he had writing stories about the military most officers that sat behind such a prestigious desk had already gotten a bit of grey in their hair, but Collins looked like he had just gotten done with his training program a few years ago.
“We get some very active recruits at this base, Mr. Monte." The Base Sargent said as he sat down. “But I'm sure you're not here to report on the anxiety of new recruits, are you? Also, would you like a coffee or soda?"
“Soda is fine, thank you." Edgar replied, then continued on once the other man finished calling out his request. “Also call me Edgar, this is more of an informal inquiry then an official story."
“Well then, call me Daniel, since we're being informal." Base Sargent Collins replied.
“Well it's about the rumor going around that some of your squads have developed an 'Advanced Soldier Program' that seems to be going on under the radar." Edgar continued on as he received his drink. “From what I've heard it's sort of a soldier-leading-soldier initiative that's been flying under the radar ever since the soldiers on this base came back from combat a few months ago. It's not a national initiative, in fact I can't find any mention of it on any other base other than this one."
To the reporter's surprise the officer seemed to smile at the accusation, then let out a laugh that Edgar tried to mimic in politeness. “You drove all the way out from the big city just for that?" Daniel replied, Edgar nodding sheepishly. “Well I hate to break it to you but this 'Advanced Soldier Program' isn't some clandestine black ops program that you might be theorizing, but instead it's exactly what it sounds like. A few soldiers were inspired while on tour to start a type of mentorship program, the more experienced men taking one of the newer recruits under their wing as a big brother type of thing."
“If that's true through then why the secrecy?" Edgar retorted. “You're the first person that even seems to know what I'm talking about since I caught wind of this."
“Exactly, it's something that we're just trying here on a whim." Daniel said, pulling out some paperwork. “Listen, it sounds like you want this to be a story and though I really don't think it's that newsworthy I want to highlight the transparency of this base. Therefore for one week I'm authorizing you to be on-base where you can report to your heart's content; you can talk to the guys, train with them, hell even sleep in the barracks if you really want. The only thing you'll need to do is sign the standard NDA that the only info you're taking out is what you're going to use for the story."
Edgar's eyebrows went up in surprise as he was suddenly face to face with several sheets that had been marked for him to sign. This was not usual at all, normally he had to crawl through a week's worth of red tape just to get on base, but the Base Sargent was offering him almost unlimited access to both area and personnel on a whim was unheard of. Perhaps he had caught the man in a good mood, he thought to himself, but he knew that it wasn't an opportunity to be wasted. Within a few minutes he had read through and signed all the papers, all of it the usual military-reporter hush hush relationship filings.
Once he had signed the last paper Daniel took the file and then made a phone call, within a few minutes the same soldier that Edgar had seen before appeared in the doorway. “This is Private Eric Daniels, he will be your liaison for the week." The Base Sargent instructed. “He's also one of the receivers of the 'Advanced Soldier Program', so you will get a first-hand insight to how it works. For now though he'll be giving you a uniform and a bunk so that you can get settled in. I do hope that you find all the answers that you're looking for Mr. Monte."
A few hours later Edgar stood in front of the mirror, dressed in a pair of ill-fitting camo complete with hat and army boots. Somehow it seemed to accentuate how little he had taken care of himself over the years, even with a somewhat active job he tended to spend his free time in bars or at home on the couch. He wondered if it was really even necessary to dress him up in such gear; compared to most of the others on the base he stuck out like a sore thumb. Unfortunately the soldier that had accompanied him had insisted he handed him his clothes out of the dressing room for safe keeping which meant these were his only option besides backing out.
“Are you alright in there Mr. Monte, sir?" A questioning voice called out from the other side of the curtain.
“For the last time Eric, it's Edgar, I'm not actually a soldier." The reporter replied with a sigh, unable to get the zealous soldier to relinquish any sense of stiff formality. “I don't suppose you could get me something a size or two larger?"
“Unfortunately it's the best we could do on such short notice." Eric replied.
“Boy you think with a run-away military budget we could have a stock of more sizes on base." Edgar grumbled as he stepped out of the dressing room, to the young man's credit he didn't even flinch when he appeared there in all his overweight glory. “Alright Eric, what do we do now?"
“We're getting close to lights out, I've been instructed to get you an empty bunk in my barracks sir." Eric instructed. “If you'll follow me, I will lead you to it now."
Edgar sighed and nodded, following the soldier back out into the base proper. Despite it being nighttime the grounds were still buzzing with some activity. As he watched it looked like every other base that he had been on, soldiers running around getting in last minute drills while others seemed to be heading to or from their living quarters. Everything seemed normal enough to him, and it made him wonder if the tip he had received was a prank. In either case he was there now, which meant that he would at least try to get something that he could write about to earn his paycheck.
Soon Edgar was shown to an empty top bunk, right next to where several other men were playing a game of cards. “Hey there new meat, what do you have there?" One of them, a man that stood at least six foot five inches wearing a green army vest and pants said as he stood up. “Aren't you going to introduce us?"
“Ah yes, Mr. Edgar Monte, this is Specialist Dalton Parsens of Alpha Company, he's also my mentor in the Advanced Soldier Program." Eric rattled off as the two men shook hands. “Mr. Monte is a civilian that is here to look into the program that you and Alpha Company had fabricated while on tour in Egypt."
“Geez newbie, I'm going to get you to relax one of these days." Dalton said with a chuckle as he looked at Edgar. “Still acts like that even after a week under my wing, I've seen dogs that train faster than that. Of course this is Delta Company so maybe that's closer to the truth then they want to admit." The other soldiers that he had been playing cards made barking noises, something that caused Edgar to smile despite himself as Dalton continued on. “Not sure what a reporter is going to want looking at something that we came up with while playing in the sandbox."
Edgar looked the man over as the soldier talked, not seeing anything unusual about his demeanor either. “Oh you know how it is, a fluffy feel good piece is something the military likes to see and something that's easy to print." Edgar replied as he shifted uncomfortably in his uniform, as he did he spotted something on the other man that he was keen to bring up. “Interesting tattoo, what is that, a Cobra?"
“I wish, it's something my squad picked up from the last tour." Dalton replied with a chuckle as he rubbed his fingers over the remarkably dark ink of the snake's face. “The rest of them wanted to go with something more native to the region, so this is what we ended up with."
Edgar just nodded, the three of them talking further for a while until they were all told that it was about to be lights out. The reporter struggled slightly as he got up onto his bed, and when he finally did hoist his body all the way up he found himself out of breath. By the time he had gotten settled in the lights had gone out and the rest of the soldiers were in their bunks. Just as he was about to lay back and go to sleep he saw Dalton out of the corner of his eye, and even though the only light came from behind the man which enshrouded the man in shadows Edgar swore he could feel the soldier's eyes staring at him. Before he could think or say anything about it Dalton left and he felt a wave of tiredness sweep over him that quickly pulled him into sleep.
****************************************
The next stay started with the sound of a trumpet that caused Edgar to nearly jump out of his skin. Despite sleeping relatively well despite the unfamiliar conditions he knew that it was far earlier then his usual routine and it was going to cost him. That coupled with a lack of coffee meant that he was the last to leave, save for his escort that urged him to onwards. Once he was out they both went to the mess hall, some of the soldiers already finishing up by the time they got through the line to get their food.
As Edgar scanned the tables it wasn't hard to find out where the famed Alpha Company sat. There were not only the core group of squad mates, Dalton included amongst them, but several other soldiers had pulled up chairs to talk with them while they ate. It made for a rather crowded section of the room, though Edgar didn't mind the increased solidarity at the table he and Eric had selected. Once he had finally taken his first drink of coffee and began to feel somewhat normal he looked at the soldier that sat across from him that had silently begun to eat.
“So Eric, Alpha Company seems to be rather popular on base." Edgar mused, to which Eric merely nodded. “Is there any particular claim to fame or are they just good at what they do?"
Eric took one last bite of his food before he wiped his mouth with his napkin and then leaned in. “They had gotten staked down in one of the nastiest parts of the desert, a base that had been the target of insurgents for quite some time just outside of Egypt." He explained. “After a few weeks the enemy suddenly converged on the base and besieged it for two whole days. By the time the reinforcements had come in they discovered that not only had Alpha Company taken some of the most dangerous positions during the siege none of their squad had gotten so much as injured during the entirety of the raid. I think that's why the higher-ups are letting them do this program, hoping that whatever magic saved them will rub off on the rest of the army."
Edgar nodded and took down notes, though he didn't get much farther before Eric was called out for training. Because he was a part of the new program he got to train with the members of the Alpha Company, which meant that the reporter had a front-row seat to watch the group train. As he sat and watched he was amazed at the physical prowess that all the squad members seemed to have, especially when it was held in such stark contrast to the recruits that they were training. He could tell there were three members of other squads that had taken to the program as they were the ones that fell several lengths behind the rest of the squad.
“Hey, why aren't you out there?" Edgar suddenly heard next to him, seeing Dalton sit down on the hill next to him.
“I'm not here to go through basic training, just get the story." Edgar replied. “So Eric and the others really seem to idolize you and your squad for what happened in your last tour."
“Ah, that was just a lot of luck and a bit of training." Dalton said dismissively.
“Are you sure that's it?" Edgar asked, the other male turning his head to look at him. “First your whole squad survives a bloody battle without a single recorded injury, and then as soon as you get back home you get this mentorship program so that, what, others can learn your secrets of survival? I'm sure you teach a bit more then 'hope that luck's on your side'."
Once again though the force of the reporter's questions didn't seem to faze the soldier at all. “We saw a lot of crazy things out there Edgar. Now I don't know what you're trying to dig to but all you're going to be at the end of this is standing in a hole and very tired. If you don't mind, I need to tell my protégé that the best way to climb an earthen embankment is not with your face."
Edgar watched as the soldier ran over to where Eric had taken a nosedive into the mud that had been on the other side of the hill the rest of them crawled over, then helped him up and wiped off his face. The reporter's mind was spinning, though he had been getting pieces of the puzzle it felt like nothing fit, especially not to a story that would warrant him coming out in the first place. As the day continued and Edgar followed Eric to his duties all he could think about was Dalton and what he said, as well as how he said it. His gut and years of experience told him if he was going to find something it was with the interactions between the Alpha Company and his escort, though to his dismay those interactions were few and far between.
At the end of his second day Edgar found himself in his bunk once more, his hands behind his head and his mind spinning with questions. Lights out had been hours ago, and he knew if he didn't get to sleep soon he would find himself dead on his feet the next day. Part of him wished that he had been given a private quarters to be able to review his notes, but this was where the action was and if he found any clues they would be there.
Just as he was about to try and go to sleep for the night he could feel a slight tremor that ran through the frame of the bed. It was enough of a mystery to keep sleep at bay and he stood there silently to see if he could hear anything. While nothing came to his ears he began to feel the tremors again in the posts of the bed, which seemed to have a steady rhythm to it. Edgar began to wonder what Eric, who was sleeping on the bottom of the bed, was doing and that curiosity pushed him to slowly peek over the side of the railing to the floor.
At first Edgar couldn't see the soldier and he wondered if Eric had gotten out of bed, but as he leaned over further and the beams of moonlight from the window fell on the lower bunk he had to do everything he could not to gasp. There was Eric, completely naked, fatigues scattered to the ground… but he wasn't alone.
Something was on top of him, a creature with skin black as night but reflected the pale light with an unnatural reflection. The reason he immediately thought creature instead of human was the thick, scaly black tail that swished around in the darkness as its hips moved up and down. Edgar had reported on enough of the seedy underbelly of things to know what that movement was, and though it appeared that the creature had a hand over Eric's mouth his unrestrained hands did nothing to try and remove the monster off of him. The rest of the barracks continued to slumber on, only the reporter aware of what was happening below him as he tried to back away from the edge of the bed.
Only it appeared his presence was detected, as soon as he moved away he saw the creature turn its head, hissing lowly as it looked at him with golden, glowing orbs for eyes. Edgar found himself frozen in place as their gazes met and though the creature shifted his form to stare at him more intently. The face of the creature was reptilian in nature, the same shining black as the rest of his body save for golden lines that ran down his body like a tattoo. Words started to form on the serpent man's lips, but Edgar couldn't understand any of them, save for the one at the end…
…sleep.
Edgar awoke suddenly to find himself covered in a sheen of sweat, the sound of the morning revelry sounding in the distance. His fatigues were stuck to his body like glue, but he ignored the feeling and looked underneath his bunk to see Eric there lacing his shoes. “Is there something wrong sir?" Eric asked when he saw the panicked look on the other man's face. “You look pale and sweaty, if you aren't feeling well I will take you to the infirmary."
“I'm fine, I just need to shower and change is all, must have been a nightmare." Edgar dismissed as he crawled down from his bunk and grabbed the spare set of fatigues that he was given daily during his duration on the base. The others gave him a bit of a look but mostly ignored him as he trudged his way to the showers, which were communal but thankfully empty since most of the others were at breakfast. He stripped down as quickly as he could, then jumped into the cold water that began to warm only slightly as he washed the sweat from his body.
His thoughts turned back to what he had seen the last night, wondering whether or not it was merely a stress dream. In all his years though he hadn't remembered anything that would trigger such an image, especially not the creature that he saw on top of Eric. Yet he had suddenly woken up as though it was just a dream, and Eric didn't seem to give any indication that something happened to him. All he had going for him now was his reporter's instincts, which told him that what he had seen was real and something happened to him…
As he continued to stand there under the cascade of water he suddenly heard the sound of the door to the showers opening, followed by the naked body of Dalton walking in. “Surprised to see you here." The younger male said as he went over to one of the other shower heads and turned it on. “The way you've been sticking to Eric I thought for sure you'd be in the mess hall with him."
“Just had to clean up a bit, not used to those barracks and they can get quite warm." Edgar lied. “What about you? Thought you and your company stick together like glue yourselves."
“We are capable of independent thought Edgar." Dalton replied with a laugh. “Oh, speaking of such things, I'm going to need to borrow Eric for a night run that we're holding for all the initiates to the Advanced Soldier Program. Due to insurance and all that we're not allowed to take you along as well, I hope you understand."
Edgar nodded and left the shower, though he knew he wouldn't be following those restrictions. He thought about how he was going to join in on the 'night run', though his options were limited he realized as he redressed and left the showers. As he looked around he realized that they could go anywhere on the acres of land that the base occupied and if that wasn't enough he had to sneak through trained soldiers to do so. Plus he had to worry about the ramifications if he was caught, as he had been made painfully aware of before he signed the NDA if he was found in any restricted areas they could charge him with treason. Though he was pretty sure that was bluster it was enough to make him very cautious of his next move.
His pondering him kept him occupied all the way up to the urban combat zone that he had been told Eric was at, though when he got there it looked like every soldier that wasn't on duty had found their way there. “Hey, what's going on?" He asked one of the soldiers.
“Charlie and Bravo Company teamed up against Alpha for their tactical urban training exercise." The soldier replied without even looking away from the action. “So far Alpha hasn't lost a single man, they really are as impressive as the stories. Of course if we had body armor like that then maybe we'd all do better, but it's understandable why they would have Alpha Company test it."
Edgar looked out at the field, trying to see what the soldier meant, but all he could see were the buildings and the backs of several shaved heads who were in front of him. When he finally was able to scoot around the crowd enough to see he saw his escort Eric running like crazy down one of the makeshift alleys. When the reporter saw what was chasing him though he nearly fell down the hill; it muscle-bound figure had on a bodysuit that covered him head to toe in glistening black rubber, save for the pair of boots and helmet with black visor that the other soldier wore. There were also metallic gold lines that ran through the suit, which glinted in the light as he remembered the creature from the night before. While it wasn't an exact match since the body armor looked like actual clothes and it didn't have a snake head, the resemblance was eerie as the soldier caught up to Jake and in one action brought him to the ground.
Eric appeared to have been one of the last soldiers standing, as soon as he was brought down the crowd chattered excitedly with one another as they began to disperse. The Alpha Company soldier helped up Eric and brushed the dust off of him, then began to walk away as Edgar finally made his way down the hill towards them. “That was quite the takedown." Edgar commented. “You alright?"
“Nothing broken, nothing wrong sir." Eric replied. “Apologies for not waiting for you at the mess hall, but this came up and I had to support my squad."
“Don't worry about it." Edgar replied. In truth he was only half focused on the soldier, his gaze went past him towards the suited soldiers that had convened together before they walked back towards the bunks. “Say, I was talking to another soldier and they said that Alpha Company have brand new armored bodysuits or something?"
“Yeah, they got them while still in Egypt, said that once they had been rescued it was their reward for surviving so long during the enemy entrenchment." Eric explained. “I guess once I graduate from the Advanced Soldier Program I will be getting one of my own, which I think might be soon because they got a crate delivered to them this morning."
Edgar continued to contemplate until he noticed that Eric was staring at him, then mustered a grin and patted him on his shoulder. As they walked to where the soldier had his active duty post they passed by the Alpha Company bunks, which Edgar realized was far closer to sneak to then to wherever else he had to go on base. He realized those suits would be his way in, now he just had to sneak there in the first place…
*****************************************************
Night fell quickly onto the military base, though for Edgar it wasn't quick enough as he played cards with Eric and a few others. Even though he tried to blend in he knew he had a nervous energy about him, something that he tried to play off as anxiety on the poker game he was thoroughly losing on. After several losing hands in a row he suddenly saw the door open and Dalton walked through, who made a beeline straight towards them. Eric saw him coming and excused himself from the game before he walked over to Dalton and saluted him.
Once the two men walked back out the door Edgar played a few hands before he dismissed himself from the game as well, citing his lack of funds that caused the others to laugh. As he left the barracks he saw that the two had disappeared off into the night, no doubt with the other members of Alpha Company. This, Edgar knew, was his time to get what he needed while people were still out but the Alpha Company's building was likely vacant. He replied to the others as little but still as congenially as possible as he made his way around to his target, waiting for people to start to wander back towards their own squad bunks before he closed the distance to it.
The reporter found the bunk door to be unlocked like he had hoped and slowly opened it as quietly as he could. He took out a small LED flashlight he had palmed from one of the other soldier's bunks and carefully turned it on, the beam of light revealed what appeared to be a relatively ordinary quarters just like the others. Beds neatly made, trunks all aligned, shoes all in a row…
“Wait, they're on a run without their shoes?" Edgar whispered to himself, but then shook his head. His reporter's curiosity would have to wait for now, he chided himself as he continued on towards the storage area, he knew he had to keep moving if he didn't want to get caught.
As he got to the crate that Eric described he did find several of the new bodysuits in there, though once again another strange detail caught his eye when the light fell upon it. “The box was sent from this base." He mused as he looked over the shipping label. “What would be the point of that? Answer it later Edgar, you got work to do now."
Edgar rifled through until he grabbed the biggest size of the bodysuit he could find, which only could be put on through the stretchy neck hole, and as he tried to pull it up over his fatigues he was embarrassed at how tight it was. He quickly realized that it would never fit this way and pulled off his clothes, even his underwear before he balled up the material around his shoes into a tight ball and tied it together with his shoelaces. Part of him couldn't help but grin at what he would imagine if someone had walked in on him now, completely naked in the army bunks trying to put on a rubber suit. Thankfully no one did walk in and he was able to pull it all the way up to his neck, though it was rather ill fitting even as he tried to snug everything in place.
“Ugh, how unflattering." He said as he jiggled his belly underneath the layer of rubber, which surprisingly wasn't as hot as he imagined it to be as he grabbed a helmet. “Oh well, the whole point is to not be seen after all I guess."
Once he had completely donned his nighttime camouflage he snuck back out into the base proper as best he could. By now it had been lights out for some time, all the windows of the barracks dark and the only illumination came from the security lights that were overhead. Luckily for Edgar the Alpha Company's barracks led to the small stretch of woods that bordered the base, which provided him more than enough cover for him to begin his search. As he continued into the trees he noticed he was not the only one who used the convenient placement to sneak out as he found a rather worn path from the edge of the woods.
Eventually following the path led him to an earthen bowl that was the firing range, the natural hillside an excellent way to soak bullets from going astray though now it appeared to be used for far more nefarious purposes. Edgar got up as close as he could to the lip of the hill, the light of a bonfire illuminating the entire area as he laid as tightly to the grass as possible. At the center of the bowl was the dozen or so soldiers of Alpha Company completely clad in a bodysuit just like him and in the middle of their group were three men, one of them Eric, that were on their knees and completely naked as they stared straight ahead. Three of the Alpha Company soldiers appeared to be painting a snake on various parts of their body, just like the one Dalton had, from ink that was in a silver ceremonial bowl.
Edgar continued to watch as they finished their work, the black lines shined in the light before the three backed away and poured the remained of the liquid into a golden jar. Even though he couldn't see it clearly the make was clearly Egyptian, something that Alpha Company had taken from their tour in Egypt? Either way it didn't explain the bizarre ceremony that was unfolding before him as one of the men stood up on one of the firing platforms.
“My brothers, we welcome three more recruits into the loving coils of Apep this night." The rubber-clad soldier exclaimed. “Our chaos spreads once more, soon we shall slither not only into every facet of every military organization and bring them down from within, but we shall do so without either side ever firing a shot. These were once soldiers of men, now they become soldiers of chaos, born to the father-serpent and branded with his mark. Now for the final phase; elders, please take your initiates and bring them into the fold, plant your seed into them so their new forms may blossom."
Three of the suited soldiers walked forward, one that Edgar guessed was Dalton as he moved towards Eric, and one by one removed their helmets. The reporter had to jam his hands under the helmet he wore to prevent himself from shouting as three snake-like heads were revealed on otherwise human bodies, their forked tongues flicking in the air as the rubber on their bodies shimmered and melted. Edgar tried to look away, but he couldn't help but stare as the material between their legs seemed to knit together, fusing the appendages into one that swelled outward. The rubbery shine on their bodies continued to linger but it gained a serpentine pattern to it as the armor plating turned to hardened rubber scale.
During the three soldier's transformations the others had taken their helmets off as well, revealing that they all had serpentine heads including the leader whose scaly lips turned up in a grin. “Initiates, you know what to do." He said, and to Edgar's surprise he watched as Eric stood up and allowed him to get his legs wrapped up to the knee in Dalton's coils. Both human and naga were completely erect, and as Edgar looked away he realized with some embarrassment that he was as well. Something about the powerful muscles of the exotic creatures had aroused him, and even though he thought it was likely the ritual in the bunks he had witnessed he couldn't help but be unnerved by his sudden attraction to the male form.
Dalton had slinked his body so that his still humanoid torso and arms were behind Eric's, as well as the spire of rubber flesh that teased between the human's legs. He grabbed the human's wrists and the coils adjusted even more to put him into a sitting position. This caused Eric to fall back and the head of the rigid member, which had grown longer and tapered as well as rubbery, disappeared between his cheeks. He, as well as the other three, let out lewd moans as they were all impaled, the serpentine soldiers cheering as they watched the humans squirm and writhe on the cocks being pushed into them.
As Eric and the other soldiers had slid all the way down to the hilt it seemed to trigger a change in the others, all of them dropping any semblance of humanity until a dozen rubber nagas now occupied the pit. Some of them continued to watch the show but had suddenly grown amorous towards each other, several of them pairing up and making out as they watched the human soldiers pant and moan from being filled. Dalton in particular seemed to enjoy toying with Eric's body, his forked tongue dancing along Eric's neck as his clawed hands raked and played with his nipples.
Just as Edgar didn't think he could watch anymore he saw what he thought was a bruise start to form on Eric's abdomen as Dalton began to thrust into him. As the veins around it blackened and raced around his body the flesh at the middle of the blackness began to grow shiny and scaly. Eric's moans became pants as his erection turned the same deep black as the cock buried inside him, flowing downwards as his balls merged with the blackening flesh of his groin. Dalton seemed to be delighted at the change and arched his extremely flexible body around until his snout bumped against the thinning head of the human's dick. The naga's sharp fangs glinted in the light as his maw closed around the changing human's tool and began to suck, which only seemed to hasten Eric's transformation.
“Feel your new forms, your mentors giving you your coils while Apep's blood cleanses your body!" The leader of Alpha Company shouted, though Edgar could only focus on what was happening to Eric. As the wave of rubber scale assimilated his human flesh the soldier's already toned muscles bulged and swelled, though not enough to give him the ungainly body of a bodybuilder it made him look even more powerful especially as golden lines began to appear in the rubber to accentuate those areas. When the rubber crawled over his pectorals, now thick slabs of muscle, it ran over his tattoo and the black lines turned to the same golden color as the lines on his body. Edgar was finally able to turn his head enough to see that the all the others had the same golden tattoo, their 'brand' that made them transform.
When the changes reached Eric's thickening neck his demeanor changed; no longer did he look like someone entranced while he was rutted, his hands started to run over Dalton's head as each finger grew out their own small claw. Black veins already permeated most of Eric's face, and when his eyes finally opened they were the same solid gold as the creature in his dream, save for the reptilian slit for a pupil as his open mouth began to stretch outward. Edgar could see Eric's tongue become forked as his nose merged with his upper lip, which was stretched out along with his jaw while a pair of wicked fangs grew out of his mouth.
Suddenly both nagas, as well as the other four where there were no traces of humanity left, seemed to spasm and contract. Eric shook his head as a shudder ran down his spine, clawed fingers digging into Dalton's back as Dalton's snout was buried deep into Eric's crotch. As the coils around Eric's legs loosened and allowed the former human out Edgar saw that there was a long, rubber serpent body in place of the usual appendages.
“My new brethren, tonight you will learn how to control your forms so that you can blend into human society." The leader explained as a different naga handed the newly transformed males a suit not unlike the one Edgar wore. “You will not be able to hide your features completely though, so until you can we have suits that you wear in order to hide your new attributes. But for now, we celebrate!"
Edgar had enough and rolled over back towards the woods before the creatures started with round two. As he ran through the forest questions rolled around his mind at a million miles an hour, wondering what had happened to Alpha Company and how they're getting away with a snake cult under the military's noses. What was worse was that no one seemed to care about the program, whether that was a power of the snakes or just oversight he couldn't guess. By the time he had gotten back to Alpha Company's barracks he still had way too many questions than answers, though for now his main focus was returning the suit so no one would know he knew.
With Alpha Company gone for the night Edgar knew he had time to change there, though it was still the faster the better. As he peeled off the rubber from his body though he had to pause, something about how his body felt didn't seem right. He took his bundle of clothes and took out the flashlight, then shined it on himself.
Had he not known better Edgar would have thought he had been working out his whole life, the fat that had accumulated on his body had vanished completely and instead he had the chest and abs that looked like most soldiers on base. He continued to take off the rubber suit and as soon as he reached his groin his cock sprang free, bigger and longer than ever before. Despite his fear of the situation he could help but wrap his hand around it, pumping it a few times as he kicked off the last of the suit from his body. Not only were the changes cosmetic but he realized that despite his run through the forest he hardly felt tired, something that he previously attributed to adrenaline now highlighted his transformation. In the back of his mind he started to worry, had he been infected by something the creatures had and now he was going to turn into one of them?
As though to answer his question he began to see parts of his naked body sag, the sculpted muscles disappearing under a layer of fat that grew out into his previous belly. He suddenly began to feel the aches of his muscles, something he had ignored for so long but now highlighted after his brief glimpse at fitness. It almost made him sad to put the suit away and put on his fatigues. All the questions that he had before were now replaced with the wonder of that body he had only briefly, and if that suit could give it back to him. A sudden bang outside the window caused him to duck and survival once more became his greatest concern as he snuck back into his barracks and into the empty bunk to ponder.

“Good morning Edgar." Edgar heard next to him as he woke up from the little sleep he managed to get, and as he turned to see a black helmet looking at him he nearly fell off the bed. “You missed the morning revelry, everyone's at the mess hall. I'll actually be doing some exercises with Alpha Company, so you're getting assigned a new person as your liaison."
It took a few seconds for Edgar to realize that he was talking to Eric; everything from the way he held himself to how he spoke made the soldier seem like a radically different person. Of course he knew that Eric was no longer a person at all, but he tried not to dwell on that as he got up. “Well the reason that I was assigned to you was because of the Advanced Soldier Program." He reasoned, trying not to lose his only connection to the others.
“I've actually completed my training last night, that's what the night run was for and why I'm dressed like this." Eric replied as he began to walk away. “If you don't feel like we can cater to your needs then I will tell the base commander that your work here is done. Now if you don't mind I have to go, Dalton and the others are waiting-“
“I know what you really are!" Edgar blurted out, which caused the soldier to stop dead in his tracks and slowly turn around to face him. “I was there, I saw what happened to you and the other two!"
With inhuman speed Eric closed the distance between them and slammed Edgar against the post of one of the bunk beds, his hissing audible even behind the helmet. “That's no problem, blanking out people's minds is the first of Apep's gifts we were taught." Eric said as he reached up with one hand to push up the black visor.
“Wait!" Edgar shouted, which caused Eric to pause. For a second even the reporter wasn't sure what he wanted, but pressed up against the muscular, rubber covered body of the other male it dawned on him what he wanted even despite his fear. “I want… I want to join you guys."
The declaration seemed to take the disguised creature by surprise, he stepped back slightly which caused Edgar to fall to the floor. “You think you can bluff your way out?" Eric asked. “No human can leave this base with the knowledge that you have."
“I think that's the point he's trying to make." Another voice suddenly said behind Eric, the two of them looking to see Dalton in his human form, though his eyes shined with a golden hue as the rubber-clad soldier turned to face him. “He's seen the glory of our forms, maybe experienced it a bit first hand, albeit temporarily?" Dalton's smile widened as he saw the confused look on Edgar's face. “I could smell your scent all the way from the firing range, did you honestly think that you could hide that from us?"
“How would we explain this?" Eric asked. “Apep's transformation… it'll change him drastically, and he would be around a lot of humans as a civilian with little support."
“Oh I have a plan for that." Dalton said as he took off his shirt, the skin beneath darkening until it turned into a glossy black. “But for now let's see if you can even handle it, time to show how devoted to the cause you really want to be. If at any time you back up we'll wipe your mind and implant the suggestion that this story is nothing like we we're thinking about doing in the first place."
Edgar watched in fascination as Dalton's face warped into its serpentine form, forked tongue flicking out from his still human lips until it turned into a reptilian snout. Unlike last night Dalton's legs remained separate, though as he stripped his pants he could see their configuration twisting slightly as his toes grew out into claws. The transforming soldier grunted as his spine popped several times and a thick tail snaked its way out of his backside, wiggling in the air as his eyes turned golden.
“I bet this form is familiar to you." The snakeman said with a grin as he rotated his rubbery black body around, the camo cap from his uniform still perched on his head. “You caught me in bed with this one while I indoctrinated him, now in that same bed I'm going to do the same to you. On your hands and knees."
Edgar was stunned at the bluntness of the creature, but as he looked into those golden eyes he found himself crawling on to the bed. He looked over to see Eric had transformed as well, the two snakemen moving around until they were on either side of him. As they began to strip him Edgar was surprised that what he felt most was shame, as he was surrounded by two Adonis males it made his form look disgusting by comparison.
“I know how you're feeling, why don't we give you a better mental image until we can fix the real thing." Edgar heard whispered into his ear as Dalton caressed his flesh behind him. The human blinked a few times, then looked down at himself to see the same body as he had after he had worn the suit, the flab completely disappeared and replaced with a healthy set of muscles. “There we go, something for you to look forward to."
Edgar was about to say thank you when his mouth was suddenly filled, the eager rubber snakeman in front of him pushing into it as soon as he opened it. It was the first time he had ever let anything in like that, much less another male, but something about it felt… relaxing. Plus anytime he felt anxious about sucking a rubber snakeman's dick he just looked up and those golden eyes seemed to calm him down once more as he felt a pair of hands press against his sides.
“I'm not a fan of the name 'Edgar' either." Dalton mused as he took his own pre-cum lubed cock and began to work it past the tight ring of muscle of the human's anal virginity. “Makes you sound old and that will not be the case soon, how about something like 'Edge'? Better right?"
“Definitely better." Eric replied as he began to thrust into the willing human's maw.
“Perfect." Dalton said, then grunted as he continued to push into the human's shaking form until at last he rooted his rubber cock inside him. “Now, here's the plan…"
A few hours later Edgar sat in Base Sargent Collins room, looking over the small stack of paperwork that sat in front of him. “Are you sure you want to do this?" He asked, looking at the other male. “If you do then you will be properly enlisted, not just a civilian on base but a proper recruit. There's no going back after this and I'm worried that your physical state is going to wash you out before you get started with the entrance tests."
“I am very sure, being on this base made me feel something I never had before." Edgar replied. “As for the tests I'm not worried, I have a member of Alpha Company that has taken interest in my as a 'pet project' so to speak. He thinks I have what it takes to turn it around."
“Looks like you found more than a story in our base here." Collins replied as he signed the form. “Dalton already came by a little earlier and told me he wanted to take you into the Advanced Soldier Program, I was hesitant when he told me but he laid out a very convincing case. apparently you already even have a nickname. Just promise me you won't be in here in a week yearning for your old life, 'Edge'."
“I most certainly will not." Edgar replied with a smile as he saluted the Base Sargent, who saluted back. “I'm even thinking of getting a tattoo to celebrate..."
