Chapter Forty Three

The inside of the room looked like a study of some kind because the walls were covered from ceiling to floor with bookshelves some of which I had never even seen before and all of them where done in the Digimon language, *Strange, why would a human have a room full of books written in the Digimon language?* I thought.

As I took in more of the room I saw two leather chairs sitting in front of an old oak desk and behind that was a high backed leather chair that was turned away from us, their was also a hearth with a crackling fire and I also noticed a container of liquid with two cups sitting on a silver platter between the two chairs on a table.

"What the hell is this? That human tricked me!" Serinity said.

"On the contrary my little virus he did no such thing." came a hollow voice from the chair behind the desk.

Both Serinity and i locked our eyes on the chair as it turned to reveal a very skinny human with pasty almost blue skin, sunken eyes and blonde short cropped hair wearing some regal clothing, he looked like a man who had been through hell and back and he showed every step of that journey on his face.

Serinity crossed her arms over her chest and glared at the human who didn't even seem effected by it, no he was to busy locking gazes with me and as I looked I could see something deep in his eyes, a small almost unnoticeable flicker of fear and helplessness.

"So your the one who owns this Anthro slave? you are the one called Serph?" Serinity demanded.

The human looked at her slowly and nodded, "Yes I am virus, and no i'm not Serph but he does speak through me and i run the base for him.....so tell me why it is that you wanted to meet me".

Serinity's glare harden as she stalked over to the desk and slammed her fist into it, "Your humans damaged my slave when they were trying to capture her and I want him fixed"

I saw the man's gaze travel back to me and he gave me a once over, his gaze lingered on my wings and leg before he looked back at Serinity.

"My apologies, please hand over the Anthro and I'll see to it that your slave is taken care of" he told her.

"No, I'll keep the slave as grievance for damaging mine until you fix the damage that your underlings have done" she said coldly.

The human studied her for a minute and tilted his head as if listening to something

before finally nodding, "Very well virus, this is expectable to me, we will give you, and your slave a room for the time being and I will have our healer work on your.....Shifter slave then you can leave our property and be on your way."

Serinity glared at the human before finally nodding, "Fine but make it quick, I have business in Night City and I don't want to be delayed more than I have to be".

The human snapped his fingers and we heard the door open, "This slave will show you to your room in the mean time and I will have Sorcerymon come to your room later, in the mean time please feel free to stay here as my guests".

Serinity looked like she had excepted nothing else and turned away from the human, I followed her and noticed that the slave he had mentioned was the wolf from the main hall.

The wolf lead us to a set of stairs and up to the third floor, as we walked i heard Kate groan and saw the wolf's ears swivel back until they were pointing towards me.

"Unnnnggh....what...."

"Be quiet slave, you were not given permission to speak" I said to her.

Suddenly Serinity turned and glared at me, "I thought you said that she would be out cold for the rest of the day!"

I flinched back from her and almost dropped Kate as I did, "I'm sorry mistress but you told me that you didn't want her dead and if i had done anymore then i would have killed her".

Serinity backhanded me across the face a little harder than needed, "Don't give me excuses slave!.....you will be punished for this later".

I hung my head low as i replied, "Yes mistress....I understand" I said to her. All the while *She's enjoying this.* was the only thought that ran through my mind.

After that little scene was done we followed the wolf girl to a door not much further down the hall and went inside after she had opened the door, I put Kate down in a chair and grabbed the wolf by the arm then yanked her into the room with us and shut the door behind her locking it as I did.

Serinity gave me a strange look as i gave the room a once over, the inside of the room had a large hearth in it along with a king-sized four-poster bed, there where no windows in the room but I did notice a bookshelf with more Digimon language books and some human one's.

I still felt that cold chill in the air so I put my finger to my lips and pointed to the room then my ear before I turned to a desk by the door and started writing on a piece of paper, *Someone is listening to us, act like you don't know.*

Serinity nodded then I showed the paper to the wolf who also nodded, I put the paper on the table and wrote down that we where friends while Serinity ordered food from the wolf girl, after I showed it to her she nodded then I asked if there was a place that I could talk to her without being listened in on.

The wolf girl nodded to me as Serinity told her what to get to drink, after that was done the girl walked out of the room and I turned to Serinity who was looking at Kate and checking her over, I also noticed that the chill had vanished but I didn't want to take chances for now.

She was just starting to come to so I whispered in her ear to fill her in on the situation, after that was done I walked over to the bookshelf and started looking at what was there.

I noticed that there were a lot of books about the marsh and some on legends but nothing helpful that would tell me what I was dealing with, about an hour later the girl came back with the food, and motioned for me to come with her so after she had set the food on the table I followed her out the door.

She lead me around the castle until we were in the kitchen which seemed to be unusually busy, we sat down at a table in the corner and spoke quietly to each other so no one could hear us.

"Who are you and why did you bring Kate back with you?" She asked fearfully.

"That's not important right now, all I can tell you is that we are here to help you and the others." I told her.

"Then you are a fool shifter there is no helping us, we are fated to die here at the hands of Serph when he sees fit to do so." she said.

I didn't react to this instead I looked around before leaning in close to her and speaking, "Look I don't care if you die but if I don't do this I'll catch hell from the female for not trying so either help me, or I'll leave you on your own".

I saw her ears droop some as she looked at me and when I realized what she was doing I felt like dirt, "Stop giving me that damned look!" I whispered at her harshly "I've had to deal with that enough since yesterday!".

*I curse the day that the puppy dog look was ever invented!* I thought to myself as I leaned back and looked at her.

"Look just give me all the information you can about this Serph guy and anyone he hangs out with, in the mean time I have to get back to Serinity and Kate to set the first half of the plan into motion when you come to pick up the plates I'm going to give you something to put into the food" I told here.

"When it starts to take effect I want you to be ready for action and make sure you and the others don't eat the food so I don't run into any problems ok?"

She nodded at this as I stood up, "Good, now start gathering all the info you can on Serph so that I won't have to do any guess work in this".

With that said I left the kitchen and made my way back to the room, when I got back Serinity and Kate were whispering to each other.

As soon as I closed the door Serinity got up and started to check my cheek and gave me this pathetic look of being sorry without actually saying it, I quickly told them what I could before anyone interrupted us.

It wasn't long after I was finished that we heard a knock at the door and we split up, Serinity went to the other chair and started to drink from a glass of amber liquid while Kate hunkered down in the corner and I picked up the first book I could find.

Just then the door opened and a small blue Digimon with a cape and steepled hat walked in carrying a staff with a large snowflake motif on the top of it in one hand and a box of what looked to be medical supplies in the other, he bowed to Serinity who just glared back at him as he spoke.

"My lady I am Sorcerymon, I have been sent here to tend to your slave" he said.

Serinity didn't even bother talking to him instead she just waved a hand at him and went back to drinking her drink, Sorcerymon grabbed me and pulled me over to the bed then pushed me down on it and seeing as how I was playing my roll I didn't put up a fight.

He was a little more gentle when he started to go over my wing, After he took off the bandages and looked at them he took out some sort of salve and started to rub it into the membrane at first it felt pretty good then it started to burn badly, when I pulled away from the digimon he jerked my wing back hard and it felt like he almost broke something.

"Stop moving around slave, otherwise I'll have to do it all over again." he told me.

I made a mental note to kick this digimon's teeth of out the back of his skull after I killed Serph, After he was done with that wing he went to the other one and did the same thing.

I was surprised when I suddenly felt my first wing start to feel better than it had since it was hit a few days ago, I heard Serinity get up out of her chair and walk over to the bed and when I looked back at her she was looking at my wing with amazement.

"That is truly some good medicine, tell me would you happen to have anymore you could spare incase my slave is stupid enough to get hit again?" she asked.

The Sorcerymon never even stopped as he spoke to her, "I have several in my bag, I'll give one to you but I should suggest that when you have your slave fight don't let him get hit in the wings again, if you had gotten to me a day later he wouldn't be able to fly again.....ever"

"What do you mean?" she asked.

"I can tell that these wounds are several days old now and you did a poor job of patching them up, if I hadn't gotten to them today then the wounds wouldn't have healed right and he would never have been able to fly again, as it stands he will be fine but even with my salve to aid in the process it will still take until tomorrow for him to heal completely and even then he won't be able to fly for another couple of days." he said.

He finished with that wing and started working on my other wounds; I noticed that after he applied the salve to one of the cuts on my chest it started to slowly nit back together.

By this time I was getting use to the initial sensation of the salve but the smell was starting to get to me and my head was starting to spin, after he was finished he gave Serinity a jar of the salve he had used on me and left.

I sat up on the bed when I heard the door close and almost fell over because I was so dizzy from the smell.

"I need to get out of here and get some air." I said as I stood up.

"But what about the plan?" Kate asked.

"Someone's going to have to stay behind and mix those pills then give them to the girl when she comes." I told her.

"If I do it right now then I'll mess it up"

"I'll do it." Serinity said.

Both Kate and I looked at her before I nodded, "Ok but you need to do it right otherwise you wont get the effect we want, to much and we'll kill people, to little and they won't go to sleep." I told her.

I told her how to mix the herbs before I had Kate help me up and out the door, after she helped me to the top of the castle she sat me down and got next to me.

"So tell me something shifter why are you so adamant about not getting close to Serinity?"

I took a deep breath of fresh air and let my mind clear before I looked at her, "Have you ever heard of shifters actually having families?"

She seemed to think about this for a second, "Now that you mention it, no I haven't seen a shifter married to a Human or Digimon."

I took another deep breath, "That's because of the ignorance of the humans and digimon, I've seen it a couple of times and each time the shifter ended up dead."

"So what are you saying that shifters aren't supposed to be happy?"

"Pretty much......no matter where we would go someone would always try and kill me not to mention what they would so to the child of ours if they found out I was the father." I told her.

"Yeah but that doesn't answer my question, why are you trying to stay away from her right now I know she's in heat and she needs release so why don't you help her?"

"She obviously likes you but you just keep pushing her away."

"That's because she's a digimon and I'm a shifter."

"That's not what I mean dumbass, I can tell you like her because of the way you look at her so why not help her through her heat?"

I thought about this for a second before asking Kate a question, "How much do you know about shifters?"

"Not much why?"

"I'm going to tell you a little secret that not everyone knows; shifters can only mate with a digimon or a human depending on the individual. I'm not sure why but that's just the way we are built"

"So what?"

"So it means that if we mate with one of them like say if I mated with a human and couldn't get her pregnant what do you think that would mean?"

"That you're sterile." Kate responded which drew a harsh look from me. "Try again."

"Hmm.....I guess....it would mean that you aren't compatible with humans"

"And"

I heard her gasp, "That you can only mate with digimon and get them pregnant!"

"Bingo"

"And you don't want to get Serinity pregnant because she's your charge is that it?"

"Not so much that she's my charge, it's more like she's a virgin and I'm suppose to keep her virtue in tact." I said.

"But there are ways to keep her from getting pregnant you know"

"I said no!.....look I realize what she's going through right now, every time I get close to her it's hard for me to think straight because of the scent of her heat but I realize that I can't do that with her"

"And why not? If you take the proper precautions it shouldn't matter and besides she likes you a lot so I don't think she'd say no."

I turned and glared at her before I spoke again, "If you're so willing to help her out then why don't you go in there and fuck her!"

She glared back at me, "Because one I'm not a guy, two I don't swing that way.....dumbass!"

"Alright then shut up about it, besides if she can hold out for a few more days her heat should be over.....I know that it's hard on her but I don't think it would help the situation right now for me to go in there and ask her to mate with me"

"And why not, it would help to ease her needs right now and if you get it out of the way now then it shouldn't be a problem until the next time she goes into heat"

"I told you that i can't, what if I do something wrong and she ends up pregnant, what are her parents going to say, it's not like I can take something like that back and even then they would probably kill me for even touching her like that.

"And who says they would?"

I studied her again before I spoke, "I do that's who."

"Dumbass"

"Who are you calling a dumbass you walking furball." I said.

"You dumbass, have you even considered her choice into this matter?"

This struck me as odd, "What's to consider she's a digimon going though her first heat, it's not like she knows what she's feeling, besides after it's over she'll be just like any other digimon when it comes to a shifter and when this whole ordeal is over I'll leave and she'll never have to see me again."

I heard Kate sigh as I looked up at the sky and continued to try and clear my head, "You really are a dumbass aren't you, and do you really think that females are anything like males?"

This made me turn and look at her again, "Women don't think with their muscles or try to show power by beating the shit out of someone, especially someone they like, I know what it's like to go through heat and I can tell you that it is not fun, everything we do during heat always reminds us of sex and the intense need for release and for a female the first time is always the hardest because we can't control the urges and frankly I don't see how she's been able to do it this long without throwing you down and raping you."

This little comment surprised me greatly, "I realize you've had a hard life but that doesn't man you can treat everyone like you were treated." she said.

"She's naive, she's got to learned that you can't always have what you want no matter how badly you want it.....the world just doesn't work like that."

"And your a dumbass, nobody can go through life with out somebody to lean on so quit thinking with your brain and start using that thing you call a heart, you never know she may be the one who changes things for shifters."

"Your just saying that because you've seen the other side of the coin but i can tell you from experience woman, the world doesn't work like that true she is naive and right now she's being nice but that's only because she's in heat and all she wants is someone to fuck and since I'm the one male she's spent most of her time with since her heat started she's only thinking of me as a piece of meat to use for her own satisfaction!"

I pause for a moment and looked at the ground, "After her heat is over she'll act just like everyone else and once again I'll be back where I started, and to her I'll just be another shifter for her to boss around while I'm helping her with her problems."

"I think I see what's going on here." Kate said, I looked at her and saw her studying me carefully "Your scared, your nothing more than a coward that's to scared to take a chance on getting hurt, oh you put on quite a tough front but underneath it all your just a scared little shifter child waiting for someone to take you out of your shell."

I felt my anger rise up and before i could think I lashed out and hit a stone right by her head making it splinter and crack as I spoke, "I'm no coward!, I have faced down death more times than i can count and i never even flinched so don't even think of calling me a coward!"

"But!"

I heaved myself up and glared down at her, "I don't have time to listen to this prattle, I'm going back to the room until we put the next faze of the plan into action do what you want until then but don't stay out to long otherwise you might run into trouble and I won't be there to save you next time." I said as I walked away.

Chapter Forty Four

When I got back to the room the first thing I did was sit down in one of the chairs and try to calm down, after a few minutes of this I got back up and walk over to the bookshelf again and looked over the books.

I grabbed one of them off of the shelf and went back to the chair to read it, I tried to put myself into the book and forget what Kate had said but for some reason I felt like she was right.

I let my gaze wander up from the pages of the book and saw Serinity sleeping in the bed and breathing gently, I let my gaze travel over her figure as she did and I felt my heart beat quicken.

I closed my eyes and looked away from her, *Remember damn it!, your a shifter, it's bad enough your putting her in danger by being this close but if you let what everyone is saying get to you then you'll end up just like Claire.* I thought to myself.

*You just have to make it a few more days and she'll be out of her heat then you'll see what she's really like, in the mean time you need to stay strong and not do anything stupid!* I told myself.

Suddenly a thought occurred to me, *But what if the things Kate said are true.....what if she is different from the others and she's not just doing this because of her heat?* I asked myself.

*NO!, it's not true she's just like everyone else, as soon as she's out of her heat she'll try and stab you in the back!* something told me.

*But she's the only one who's been nice to me in so long....is there really a chance that she'll be like that after her heat?, I mean what if Kate's right and I lose the only chance I have at actually being happy for once in my life because I thought I couldn't trust her I mean even that stone thing said.....*

*Claire thought like that when she went to meet with the human that said he loved her and look at what happened, you had to take her life from her because of what his family did and what he didn't do, do you really think she's going to be any different than the others? No as soon as she can she's going to stab you in the back just like that Taomon did and everyone else before him.*

*Besides why would she ever feel anything for us, she's a digimon you're a shifter, there's no way she could ever love a freak.* it said as if trying convince me of a truth I already knew.

*That's right* I thought *I'm a shifter, a monster, a freak.* I told myself as i stood up and walked over to the bed and sat down on the edge looking at her.

I let my gaze travel up her body until it came to rest on her throat, *It would be so easy to kill her right now* another voice that sounded like mine but not at the same time echoed through my head.

*Yes it would.* i thought in reply.

*Why don't you do it? All you would have to do is reach out and give her neck a quick twist and it would all be over then you can be alone again, free to do what you want, no more Serinity to tie you down and wreck all of your fun.* my other voice told me with a maniacal glee to it.

"Yes....just one....quick twist....so easy." I whispered as if to agree with the other voice, I felt my hand move towards her slowly.

*Yes, that's it.....just one quick twist and you'll be free of her torment*

"Yes.....free....torment...." I whispered.

I let my fingers brush against her neck fur gently causing her to murr in her sleep, *That's it, just one quick jerk and it will be over, the least we can do is give her a relatively painless death for her kindness*

I let my eyes travel up to her peacefully sleeping face as I sat there, "Yes....i can make it quick...painless...."

I was just about to wrap my fingers around her neck when a loud knock came from the door making me jump and pull away from her; i quickly made my way over to the door and opened it to find the human with pasty skin looking back at me.

"The mistress is asleep right now and does not wish to be disturbed, what do you want?" I asked dully.

He studied me for a minute before speaking, "I am to invite you all to have dinner with us tonight in the main hall so we may thank you for bringing back the Anthro slave girl"

I studied the human for a minute before nodding, "I will tell her when she wakes up." I told him before I shut the door in his face.

I turned around and rested against the door and felt my body shaking as I looked at my hands then over to Serinity, "What was I doing just now?" I asked myself.

I shook myself and stood up then left the room trying to think about what i had tried to do but the more i thought about it the more the memory faded until i had completly forgotten why i had left in the first place, finally giving up on remembering I walked around for some time checking out the castle before I made my way back.

When i got back I found Serinity and Kate sitting on the bed with Kate laughing about something and when the door closed she stopped and they looked at me, "Well it's about time you got back" Kate said.

I studied the two of them carefully as I walked over to a chair, "What are you plotting cat?" I asked.

Kate put on an innocent face, "I have no idea what you're talking about Shifter" she said.

"You'd better not be planning anything or the last thing you see is going to be my foot coming at your head before I kick it off your shoulders." I told her as I sat down.

She just waved a hand at me and spoke, "Yeah, yeah what ever but we'd better get ready in a while otherwise we'll be late for the party."

I tilted my head and raised an eyebrow, "What are you talking about?"

Kate furrowed her brow at me as she spoke, "Don't you remember? We're suppose to be getting ready for dinner tonight, Ka'Na told me that Serph was going to be there to thank Serinity personally for bringing me back."

"Who's Ka'Na" I asked her.

She blinked at me a few times before answering, "The wolf.....the one who showed you to this room?"

"Ah her"

"Wait.....you mean all of this time you've been talking to her and you never even asked her for her name?!"she said.

"Nope."

This made Kate shake her head, "You really are a dumbass you know that?"

I was about to say something but right then a knock came from the door drawing our attention, i got out of the chair as Kate took her place by the wall and walked over to the door.

I cracked it and peeked out to find the she wolf looking hurriedly around, I pulled the door opened and pulled her inside then quickly shut it behind me.

"Did you find out anything about Serph?" I asked as I looked at her.

She looked around the room before finally spotting Kate and walking over to her, as she approached Kate got up and met her halfway in a hug.

I waited until the two pulled apart before speaking again, "So did you get the info or not?"

Ka'Na looked back at me before speaking, "Unfortunatly I was unable to gather anything on Serph shifter, when ever I ask someone who has been to his quarters they remember nothing but an empty room even if they've been there for several hours." she said.

I thought about this for a minute before I asked her another question, "You mean for them it's like only a few minutes have passed but in actuality it was several hours?" I asked her.

She nodded at this so I continued, "Have the ones that came back acted strangely or did they have some kind of mark or wounds on their bodies?"

Ka'Na thought for a moment, "Yes one or two of them had bruises on their bodies and some others said they felt like they had been.....used."

"I'm guessing it was only the females that said this, am I right?"

Again she nodded, "Indeed, but i can only speculate as to what went on in that room because I have never been there myself, only those who are summoned are allowed to go in, anyone else that has tried is found dead in the hall and we are made to clean up the mess that followed." she looked a little sad as she said this and so did Kate.

"So once again I'm left with nothing to go on before taking on a mission" I sighed.

"Will you still help us shifter or like so many others will you run away and leave us to our fate?" she asked me.

I studied her face and saw a mix of hope and fear in it as she looked back at me, I let my gaze slip over to Serinity's face and saw the same look on hers before I spoke again.

"Let's get this over with so i can get back to Night City" i said.

Ka'Na looked somewhat relieved when I said this and I saw Serinity smile at me, "Thank you shifter.....but i must warn you nothing is known about Serph and I do not think you should take him lightly"

"Yeah, yeah what ever, I think I know how to handle myself in a fight" I said as I moved over to the desk and started searching through my things.

"Ka'Na.....I have something I need you to do when this goes down" I told her as I pulled the ring from the sack and showed it to her.

She looked at the ring a little confused before she spoke, "You want me to marry you?"

"No you idiot I wait you to take it from me!" i growled at her.

She reached out and plucked the ring from me and looked it over, it resembled a class ring in size and make but instead of any kind of writing on it had the motif of a dragon coiling around its self and in the center was a red jewel which was held in the dragon's mouth.

She looked the silver colored ring over before asking me a question, "What do you want me to do with this?"

"I want you to use it to free anyone you can find and get them out of here" I told her.

She looked at me like I was nuts. "You want me to free anyone I can find....with a ring?"

I suddenly developed a tick in my right eye as i glared at her, "If you would shut up and let me explain I'll tell you how to use the ring"

I calmed myself before i continued to speak, "Alright, as Serinity knows nothing I carry is what it seems, this ring is no different and if you'll put the ring on and press down on the foot claw then you'll see why" I told her.

We watched her slip the ring on her index finger and press on the foot, she nearly jumped off the ground when a two inch laser shot from the ring then it vanished as she let go, "What the hell was that?" she asked me quickly.

"That my dear is called a cutting laser, i got it for one of my missions a few years ago it's very handy for getting out of things like shackles, cuffs, restraining straps and the like when you have it with you" I told her.

Ka'Na looked at me in amazement as Kate narrowed her eyes at me and spoke, "You are a very dangerous being to be around aren't you shifter?"

I chuckled and gave her a toothy grin as I replied, "I know, it's great isn't it?".

"Alright Chad enough fun, i need to brush my fur before dinner and Ka'Na needs to get back to her friends" Serinity said as she walked over to the desk and picked up a brush.

I let my shoulders slump a little and frowned sadly, "Fine...."

At this point Ka'Na started to head for the door so she could leave but I stopped her.

"I need to ask you to do one more thing for me before you go Ka'Na" I told her as I started digging into the bag again.

I heard her stop as I pulled out five black balls no bigger than marbles and held them out to her, "Take these and put one in each of the gun placements in the main courtyard when you go out there for what ever reason, I don't care what it is but this needs to be done first before anything else" I said to her.

She looked a little confused again as I dropped the balls into her hand, "What are they?" she asked me.

"Micro grenades" I told her.

I saw her eyes flick back to her hand and she started to shake, i quickly reached out and closed her fingers over them before one of them decided to jump out of her hand and kill us all.

"Look I know what your thinking but I've toned down the power so it will only be enough to take out the gun placements" I assured her. "But you still need to be careful with them, that means no sudden jolts otherwise they could go off and kill us or you."

I saw her close her eyes and take a deep breath to calm herself before she nodded to me, "Very well shifter I will do this but won't it be over kill since those manning the guns will be out cold from the food?".

I shook my head at this, "No I've told the ones cooking tonight not to spike the food for the guards outside since if someone comes back off patrol and finds them all sleeping we'll have a whole slew of trouble I don't want so when these bad boys are in place all I have to do is set them off remotely before I open the door" I told her.

She nodded at this so i finally let go of her hand and stepped back, "Good now go get to work and be careful, the last thing I need is for one of the people I'm trying to rescue to go and get themselves blown to piece's before I can get them out safely".

With that she left the room and Serinity and I got ready for our little play.

Chapter Forty Five

I had to say Serinity looked good in black fur; she had just gotten done brushing out her fur and it shown in the light from the fire.

"Ow! Damn it Kate can't you do that any better?! I at least want to have some hair left when you're done combing it!" I said.

"Ow! Damn it, I'll have you know I like my hair and it's not like I've had much choice in the matter, this morning is the only opportunity I've had in several days to even get it wet with anything other than blood and swamp water." I said as she worked out another knot.

"Yeah well I'm doing the best I can, I've already gotten it clean now all we have to do is get.....it.....brushed.....that got it." she said finally getting out what i hoped was the last one.

I sighed with relief as i felt her run the brush through again with no resistance, "Their isn't that better?" she asked me over my shoulder, "Now if we could just do something about the smell we'd be set."

"What you mean the smell of rotten tuna or the smell of dead fish coming from your mouth." I poked at her.

This got me a smack in the back of the head but it was worth it, finally Kate walked out from behind me and over to the desk and set down the brush as the girls looked back at me.

I suddenly felt like a prized bull on an auction block from their looks before I saw Kate's gaze drop down to chest level then her look faltered and changed to sadness or something like it.

"Yo furball my face is up here, stop checking out the goods" i called over to Kate.

This got a reaction out of her because she picked up the brush and chucked it at me with a glare, "Don't flatter yourself shifter from where I'm standing you don't have much to offer anyway." she shot back.

"Ahh you're just pissed because I won't let you have any." I said catching the incoming brush flying toward my head, and gently putting it down on the table next to me.

"Yeah right l wouldn't take you as a mate if you where the last male alive." she said.

"Children do I have to remind you that we had an agreement?" Serinity said looking between us.

"Oh come on Serinity can't we have a little fun before we have to go out there and fight?" I asked her.

She looked up at the ceiling at tapped the side of her muzzle as if think as she spoke, "Hmm, let me think about this for a minute........no." she told me.

"Now come on we have to get down to the main hall before someone comes to get us, from what i can hear there are a lot of people down there." she said.

We got ready to go and headed out the door with me behind Serinity's right shoulder and Kate being dragged along by the leash to her left, I tried my best to ignore the sent of her heat but my body decided that it didn't want that and I ended up walking with a sizable bulge in my pants even if I wasn't completely hard.

When we got to the stairs we heard laughter and rowdiness as if we were walking into a normal bar, We got into or rolls as we made our way down the stairs and when we walked into the room we followed Serinity who lead us around until we were standing in front of a large chair at the head of the table.

The chair looked to be made of various pieces of bone and in the center top of the back was what looked like a human skull with large fangs, i looked a bit closer and realized I was looking at an Anthro skull.

*Ok either this guy has really bad taste in furniture or he has a darker sense of humor than I do* I thought to myself.

Sitting in the chair was the human that the guard had lead us to but something was different about him, the look of fear and helplessness was gone now.

It seemed to have been replaced by something even darker and wicked, the way he was moving and the look of self assured power in his eyes it was like he was a whole different person.

He leaned forward and rested his arms on his legs as he grinned down at us and I heard the room go quiet, I could feel the combined looks of both human and digimon stares boring into my back as I looked at the human before me.

*Something not right* I thought to myself but for some reason I couldn't put my finger on what it was.

The human spoke, "Well,well,well......look at what we have here." he said still grinning that wicked grin.

"Everyone it seems our guests have finally decided to join the festivities!" he said to the crowd behind us.

"And look they've even managed to bring back my personal pet", this got a round of soft chuckles from the room behind us.

Serinity was checking out her claws like she wasn't even concerned by the complete change in personality as she spoke, "So you must be the one called Serph am I right?"

The human laughed and the room behind us joined in, after they settled down he answered her.

"Indeed little virus, and it seems your the one who killed my men.....or at least your shifter slave did." he said as he looked me over.

"Well what did you expect that I would let the damage they inflicted to my slave go unpunished?" she said.

Serph tilted his head to one side as he replied, "I see your point but was it really necessary for them to die?"

Serinity looked off to the side and waved her hand at him as if shooing his comment away, "Just be glad I had him leave them in one piece for you".

This made Serph laugh hysterically but this time the rest of his goons didn't join in, when he finally calmed down he spoke again.

"Well I can see your nothing to be trifled with little virus so if you'll just hand me the leash to my slave we can start the feast"

Serinity had gone back to inspecting her nails again as she replied but this time she looked at Serph before answering, "No."

I heard the room behind us burst into whispers and gasps as Serph's grin faded some in disbelief, "What did you say to me?"

Serinity dropped her hand and looked Serph straight in the eyes before answering, "I said no, like I told you before I will keep the Anthro slave until mine is healed you will get her back when I see fit and not a moment sooner, besides I haven't finished punishing her for running in the first place and causing the damage to my slave because of it but don't worry I'll be sure to give her back to you in one piece when Shadow is healed." she said.

"Hehe.....hehehehehe.....hahahahahahahaha, your definatly good little renamon.....very well you can hold onto the Anthro for now and when your slave is healed then you can be on your way in the meantime why don't you have your slave show us the fighting skills that killed my two best underlings?" Serph said.

Serinity put on an interested look as she replied, "Very well....I just have one question for you"

Serph smiled wickedly again, "And what is that my dear little dark vixen?"

Serinity put on an evil grin as she spoke, "How many of your underling are you willing to lose?"
