Love - Chapter 2; The Dream
#2 of Love
Something wasn't right... Emetia could tell as she sat up from bed. Shi looked around, trying to spot the source of the noise, which was never easy â€" it's not like seeing in the dark was any easier for her species... Hir ears perked, shi could hear some muffled thumps, and ... was someone crying? Shi was getting worried now, running out of hir room towards the sounds. Shi half-flew, half ran upstairs towards hir sisters room. Their childhood home was huge, or so it seemed to the little dragoness as she struggled towards hir sister's room.
Shi reached the top of the stairs and quickly ran towards the noises. The sight before hir made hir heart stand still... Hir older sister was pinned to the ground â€" her face contorted by pain and fear as she looked towards Emetia. Her sister had tears rolling down her cheeks. Emetia saw what was pinning hir sister... A large Male. He had his legs on either side of hir sister and was doing something to her backside... Emetia was confused, and scared. She went to open hir mouth to cry for help, but hir sister shook her head at her. What could shi do?
Emetia went to turn, her small frame slamming straight into the thigh of another male, who looked like the one with her sister. Behind him, she could see smoke coming from hir parents rooms, she was terrified, who were these people? Shi screamed, but before the sound made it out of hir mouth, she felt a sharp pain in her head and then she was on the floor... She didn't know what had happened... everything was fuzzy... going black... she tried to reach out to her sister, but couldn't ... quite... make...
...
Emetia shivered... Shi was now herself... but was sure she wasn't awake. This place was definitely not hir room. God damnit. Shi usually didn't have nightmares... This just didn't go down well with hir. That was the last memory she had of hir family and their home. Shi had only been 6 years old at the time... Her sister had been raped in front of hir very eyes... At least it was gone now.
Shi looked around. Nothing but grey stretched out for miles. The floor appeared to be glass, or something reflective, it shimmered where her feet contacted it. Shi didn't like this place.
"Hello?" Shi tried calling out to the void. Stupid thing really, not like anything would talk back, it's just a dream. Shi huffed to herself. Shi sat down; maybe if she calmed hirself, the dream would end. Shi couldn't shake the prickly anger though. Apart from that memory, shi had very little recollection of hir family. After that, next thing shi remembers, was when she awoke on a distant planet, with no money or information. Shi didn't even know what her species were called, or why shi was a herm. And Hermaphrodites like her were relatively unusual in the place she now called home.
Shi often wondered if there were places where shi would be more accepted. If there was some long lost relatives somewhere out there... Some identity. Rather than a secretary on minimum wage in a city full of crime and corruption. At least she had hir name right? Shi snapped awake from hir brooding as shi heard a gasp behind hir. Emetia spun around, jumping up at the same time, hir wings spread as she entered some kind of awkward combat stance. What she encountered caused hir breath to catch in hir throat.
Standing before hir was another dragon!
Shi was... a SHI! Emetia was trying to comprehend. Before hir stood another herm dragon. The other dragoness was naked, strange and yet somehow... beautiful. "Shi" stood around six and a bit feet, shorter then Emetia, and had a much smaller wingspan. Hir body was obviously built for lithe movement â€" hir tail much smaller to match â€" and hir limbs were toned, feminine, not at all muscled. This was completely new to Emetia, all 8 other dragons shi'd seen were built remotely like hir... not this... dragoness. Shi had white scales, with grey ones leading into hir horns and larger scales, which were black, like carved obsidian.
This sparkling white was marred by crimson blotches on hir thighs and slashes of the same on hir arms â€" which in the grey place, almost looked like they were bloodied.
Emetia almost backed away, nervous at this strange and beautiful thing before hir.
"Wh - who are you?" Shi stammered.
The other herm just looked at hir, almost vacantly.
"My name, is Aer. A shortening of Aerissa."
The stranger had a sweet, deep, womanly voice... It almost sounded like music to Emetia's ears. Hir interest was perked. The stranger just idly looked around.
"What are you doing here? Am I dreaming?"
‘Aer' looked at Emetia, a smile appearing on hir white maw, a sparkle appearing in her eyes. Emetia suddenly found hirself lost in those eyes... They were the same colour as hir own scales, and sparkled like jewels. The smile of this strange dragoness seemed to melt Emetia, she couldn't help but feel like shi was someone that shi knew.
"I'm here to rescue you."
Emetia felt a pang of confusion at those words, shi didn't understand. The stranger began to move closer, Emetia felt a little fear, but lost it upon making eye contact with the herm again. Deep within hirself, shi felt something stir, some sort of ... hope. Hir eyes flicked around nervously. What a strange dream. The strange dragoness reached out to Emetia â€" shi pulled back a little, unsure of the situation.
"Don't worry Emetia, I'm not going to hurt you..." Aer looked Emetia in the eyes again, so seriously that Emetia couldn't move.
Again the smaller dragon reached a claw out... Emetia was frozen in place as the claw moved towards hir face. The white dragon's claw softly brushed against Emetia's cheek.
Emetia felt the ground move under her feet, electric shocks seemed to shoot from her scaled skin... and yet... it was silent. For an eternity, or so it seemed, the two remained. Their eyes locked in a gaze, the soft claw embracing hir was the only contact between the two.
And yet it meant everything.
Again, Emetia stammered softly, her body awash with sensation â€" "Wh â€" Who are you?"
Before she got an answer, before she could even react â€" the white dragoness pressed up against hir, their bodies pulled in close as shi pressed hir lips against Emetia's.
For the longest moment, Emetia could swear she was dead. Hir heart wasn't beating or so it seemed, there was no sound, nothing, but the dragoness against hir. Shi couldn't breathe... shi didn't need to... hir body was on fire, and yet, she was not in any pain...
A moment later, yet an eternity too soon, Aer pulled away from the kiss. The dragoness wiped a trickle from Emetia's cheek... have I been crying? Emetia thought to hirself.
"I'm your true love."
The words hit Emetia like a brick. Shi quivered. The white dragoness began to fade... as did the grey void that Emetia had lost track of time in. Emetia began to panic.
The fading dragoness slowly backed away from Emetia. It felt like the sun was going down, and all the warmth â€" the fire through her body â€" was sputtering and fading...
"No! Don't leave!" Emetia cried out into the void... Shi tried to reach out, but hir arms didn't move...
...
"No!!! Noo!!!" She screamed at the ceiling.
She'd awoken. Cold, sweat soaked sheets clung to her scales. Hir eyes were wet, shi knew shi was crying. The dream had left hir cold, lonely. Shi felt like shi had found something... and then had it taken away from hir. It's not fair! Shi sobbed. It must have been the worst nightmare ever.
She just lay there, sobbing... until her alarm went off.
To Be Continued.
