i am sorry for the boring title of this chapter i did not know what to call it at the time, otherwise comment, fav, read, and review ( if you want to though :P)

Paul yawned and sat up; rubbing his eyes he looked around, spotting Eve still sleeping, Paul quietly got out of the sleeping bag and walked out to the balcony, watching a dark shape soar over the forest.

I wonder if it is Spyro. Thought Paul, he heard a groaning sound and he turned around to see Eve starting to wake up.

"Good morning." Paul said to Eve who was starting to yawn as she looked around

"Good morning" Eve groaned sleepily as Paul sat down on the edge of the bed.

"Had a good sleep?" he asked

"Yeah, I did but I am still really sleepy." Eve replied

"I saw Spyro fly off into the distance, I think he has gone hunting for food" Paul replied as Eve slowly sat up rubbing her eyes.

"Oh goodie, I am hungry!" Eve exclaimed, as she slid out of the bed. As she did Ignitus came into the room.

"Good Morning, you two" Ignitus exclaimed as he looked at Paul and Eve

"Good morning Ignitus" Paul said after he got up from the side of the bed "what do you have for us... breakfast" he said with a smile. ~

Ignitus chuckled "I do have breakfast for you two, BUT it is going to have to be quick because you are going on a reconnaissance mission together.

Minutes later...

Paul wiped his mouth with his sleeve and stood up next to Eve and waited for the mission to be given to them.

Ignitus started to brief them on there mission, "you mission is to scout several positions that we believe to be bases for the ape army to stage any further attacks on us in the near future. You will be away for a while so report back as many times as you can."

"You leave immediately" continued Ignitus as he turned to leave the room, when he did Paul sighed "Well looks like I am back in business, snooping around in the middle of the night, destroying things and killing people" exclaimed Paul as he picked up his rifle and looked down the sights at a wall. Eve was suddenly curious of Paul's past and said "Paul.... Can you tell me about your past please?"

Paul shook his head and replied "you don't want to hear about my past Eve, it is to disturbing to talk about it." He slung the rifle over his back and picked up his backpack and looked at her. "If you really want to know about my past ask me again later today." Exclaimed Paul with that he left his room with Eve following close behind, Paul walked into the main room finding Ignitus, Spyro, Cynder and the Guardians talking in hushed voices, but as soon as they saw Paul striding towards them and Eve coming close behind they suddenly stopped Paul noting this stopped in front of Ignitus and said

"Thanks for the food Ignitus"

Then he turned on his heel and left heading towards the exit of the dragon temple with Eve.

Paul looked around, as he set his pack down in a secluded glade that was going to act as their base camp. It was getting late into the afternoon and they had covered a lot of distance. As Paul was setting up the tent, Eve came up to him and asked "can you tell me about your past now Paul?"

"Alright I will tell you about my past, sit down and I will tell you" Paul said as he finished setting up he tent, Eve sat down on a log and Paul sat down next to her.

So then Paul told Eve about his dark and disturbing past well into the night.

Paul yawned and rubbed his eyes, morning already....better get up to get us some food then. He thought to himself, as he quickly got dressed and quietly slipped out into the cold morning air to hunt. He came back a few hours later with a deer-like animal that he dragged behind him.

As he entered the camp he was greeted by Eve who seemed to Paul very, very hungry, "I got food for us" Paul exclaimed as he walked to the center of the campsite dragging the deer. As he Unsheathed his combat knife in preparation to gut the deer Eve said ~

"Why are you doing that Paul?" Paul suddenly stopped what he was about to do and answered Eve

"To remove the internal organs and get this animal ready to eat, Do you want to help me?" he replied as he slit open the chest of the animal, soon he had the deer on a spit and over a fire that Eve had just made.

A short while later.....

"Ok let's go find the enemy bases and get the hell out of there. Lets go" Paul said as they left the campsite to go off scouting. They got into visual range of the Ape encampment and they were almost halfway back to the campsite until Paul sensed that it was unnaturally quiet all of a sudden and he and stopped just to get attacked by at least 5 or so apes.

Paul pulled out his S3-osprey rifle he fired two shots into the head of a on- rushing ape brandishing a wicked looking sickle, the ape dropped to the ground. He flicked the fire mode switch to three round burst and spun around to catch an ape leap at him rolling to the side Paul leveled the Osprey and looked down the sights, he fired the rounds catching the ape in the chest.

"AGGGHHH!!!!!!!!!!" Eve screamed as she dove towards the remaining apes she spat out a huge ball of blue energy into the group scattering the apes like 10 pins. Paul looked on in astonishment as Eve landed in the middle of the group and started to claw at the apes that remained standing. One of the apes grunted then fell as she viscously started to maul the apes. As Paul saw the last ape fall to the ground he rushed to Eve who had taken a few hits from the ambush. She was lying on the ground in pain and clutching her ankle which was at an unnatural angle.

"We make a good team, me and you...." Paul nodded and replied "I know we do, thanks for taking the rest of them out for me" he lifted her and put an arm over her,

"Put most of your weight on me and try to place as little pressure on your injured ankle, place your other foot right next to mine so it is easier for us to get back to the camp" Paul explained

"Are you ready Eve?"He continued she nodded and they slowly made their way back to the camp.

It was well into the night by they time they got back to the camp, but before Eve could protest that her ankle was only a bruised and it did not hurt that much, Paul revived the fire and pulled a Med- pack out of his backpack and started to wrap a compression bandage around Eve's ankle.

"Is that too tight? Or is it ok as it is?" asked Paul

"No, it is ok thanks Paul for coming to get me" Eve replied

"I could not have just left you there, could I?" Paul chuckled

Eve gave Paul a sour look at this comment and stayed silent, as Paul finished wrapping the bandage around her ankle

"There all done" Paul said as he finished

"Thanks Paul" replied Eve as she looked down at her bandaged ankle

"You should get to sleep, I'll take the first watch" Paul said as he packed away the med pack and put into his backpack, grabbing his Osprey rifle he headed towards the edge of the camp where he sat down on a rock and looked around.

Eve just nodded her head as she watched Paul walk off to the edge of the camp; she then turned around and headed towards the campfire that was still burning and laid down near it and tried to get to sleep under the stars.
