Drowning in Darkness

I'm drowning in the darkness.

Wondering about this life and what it is.

Falling further from the light

Sinking deeper into the night

I'm drowning in the darkness

Is there any way to reach the surface?

Hiding behind a mask of lies and deceit

Never able to tell if my emotions are concrete

I'm drowning in the darkness

Finding a hole where my heart is

Tired and broken

Never a thought spoken

All alone and forlorn

My life forever sworn

To drown in the darkness

Is there a light I can find or is this a harness

That takes me further out of the fight

I'm drowning in the darkness

And someday there'll be nothing left of me.
