Written when in the agonies of a long distance relationship. Love hurts most when it can't be shown properly.
What is this that has begun to occur?
You did something, and now it won't leave.
I can't explain it, I don't get it.
Is it an affliction, a curse, or much better?
My brain refuses to respond anymore,
All control has been wiped out.
My breathing speeds up when I think of you,
But it is nowhere near enough.
My heart, oh my heart, is the worst now.
The slightest hint of you sets it to pounding,
It tries to escape the cage of my flesh,
Seeking to hunt you down and unite us.
Space keeps us apart, time tells how long
We are without each other; hand in hand they go.
You haunt the few thoughts I can pull up,
My dreams try to make it worse.
Sand measures the moments of my disease,
Pouring through the hourglass of my life.
I beg of you, infector of my soul,
Turn me over to let this begin again.
