*snickers* All right lets see what we got here erm...hmmm a long sorry been in the works forever. Im a busy Tauren. *snorts* anyways, this is the extended version of the first chapter and the latest in a number of revisions its gone under with possibly more to come as the story is highly complex. All right everyone, enjoy.

The waves thrusted higher surging violently under the craneing metal crafts. A shrill metallic cry rang causing a static sensation in the blood. Streamers of mist splayed the moist air. Wave after wave pounded against the moaning Higgins boat. With a sheer determined forces the armada of boats flooded the channel bound towards Salerno. A small town by comparison heavily defended by axis forces. The early July day crackled over the flickering commotion of the comm lines:

"Stand by thirty-four, over"

" Thirty-six check, over"

"thirty seven check, over"

"Stand by, over"

"Navals on the move, over"

"Correct thirty-three to niner three, over"

"Thirty-three taking fire...taking fire-"

"All right, listen up." The captain turned towards the others inside. "The gunners missed the beachhead, they krauts are in full garrison...every one of them. But it doesn't matter now."

"The navy screwed us!" A soldier muttered. Spray washed over as the mortars were targeted on them.

"Shut up Lavaty, your giving me a headache. There's not going to be much there. 82nd's out there somewhere but they cant help us. Stay away from the Mulberries, no telling what's-"

The boat captain disappeared in a haze of water and torn metal without so much as a warning. A direct hit from the bombardment. The front half gone completely. The boat began to sink rapidly. "Land it!" One yelled desperately. The boat still remained hundreds of yards away from shore.

Another shell hit, a near miss the water sending it cascading over drenching the occupants. The driver swerved the boat in attempt to avoid a hit. The steel machine overcompensated and turned into another. The momentum was too great as it drove up over another from the side. Panicked voices shouted as the metal wall began to give way under the cumbersome weight. The helpless men were crushed under the steel before the crafts overturned and sank in the cold waters.

The bombardment suddenly came to a halt as the first LCI reached its destination. The unlucky driver dropped the door down onto a hidden mine. The front line crumbled immediately in a flash of heat and metal debris. The rest pushed on into the machine gun fire.

A British DD tank somehow survived the water voyage. The LCT was shrouded in a floating canopy the thin membranes fluttering to the ground as the front spinners began to rotate. The chains whistled as they whipped into the sand with tremendous force. Dirt and small granules soared through the air propelled by the mines explosive force.

With little more than a squad remaining the Allies dug in taking what cover available. "Watch'em work!" One yelled as the tank approached the right side of the Moaning Minnies The multi-barreled mortar roared into existance alongside torrential and machine gun turrets spewing their storm. Beach sand danced through the air at deadly speed. The mechanized beast made short work of the barb wire. The armor shot at the distant pill box. With the Germans gunfire drawn to the tank the infantry quickly took their chance and came along the tanks path clearing the vehicle of German jumpers who pryed at the hatches and slung their barrels firing blindly into the tank sights and peep holes. One managed to unload a clip through a sight port in the side before flying off to the side with a hole in his chest. The tank became still.

The battle raged on for hours at a near stalemate the Allies slowly dwindled in numbers as the bodies began to pile. But the Axis turrets were taken and destroyed, the fight being fought in small arms and whatever else could be scrounged.

"Save that runner the right flank is going to fold if we dont move in. Get ready to move." Came the commanding call. "Take the lateral on the left, the left side. Don't let their flanks through." Another earth shattering explosion sent debris and men through the air above. The soggy impaled ground beneath wrought with inhumane smells and dead. Boot imprints stalking their claim with the wild clatter and crackling of cannons roar.

"Again. Take it again." A whistle blew piercing the odd silence coursing the ears blotting out most. "Stalk the holes stalk the hole." A turbulence ripped sucking in the air suddenly all around and blew outward shattering several more in a violent wave. "Run the ramp push....push." The whistle blew again. Again the resounding turbulence pulsated cutting through one soul with malicious intent. Still the whistle blew. "Forward!" Came the final command. A victorious howl came up from the Allied lines. Every last man rushing the trenches. Silent cries and howling pains split through the clatter of whips and whirling of bullets gone by. Some fining their targets with cracks and shattered meat falling and screaming to the upturned soil below.

"Forward....keep going." Came another whistle and yell.

"Push up push up. Don't sto-" an explosion rocketed throwing the captain backwards with a sharp groan. The helmeted covering saving most but not the one in front of him. Pushing the headless corpse off he pulled himself up again. The batted breaths seeming slow than usual he shifted again with more rocket attacks on all sides.

"ke-keep going" Stumbling past he tripped again. He pulled back as something stick to his boot. The corpse beneath him had missing most of its attachments' save the ribcage. Pulling it free snapping most of the ribs the whips and whirls zipped by forcing him down again. "Forward!" he commanded again pulling himself up. Again the earth shook violently. Stepping off the side nearly slamming into the fallen rubble with torn metal and concrete the barbed wired wrangled outside post. Three others ran out in front their aim for the post. He saw the trap. To late to want the all to expected popping noise recoiled the barbed wire snapping one end. Immediately the wall of twisted metal whipped around in a coiled heap as it untangled. Quickly ensnaring them ripping their flesh with spiked coils. "Forward....forward." came the harsh whistle as he could hardly hold the metal device between his gasping lips. The copper tang of the blood slipping alongside his teeth.

Bright flashes of light from all around as the ringing in his ears worsened. The officer defiant to the end as he saw their target ahead. The sand, mud, and blood sunken into their boots with each step as if holding them back. The craters left from wasted mines the only cover and even then were temporary. The chain like ripping roar like sound cuddenly unveiling in bright flashes. The turrets now opening up from the rear echelon. A quick grenade blew out the gunners and tossing their bits everywhich way. The severed hands still gripping the handle feeds of the smoldering weapon. "We're in buisness!" came a shout he entered the trench, bayonets now at the ready. The trench was a complex of turns and sophisticated bunkers and port A pounding on the side box. "Wir brauchen hilfe...Wir brauchen hilfe" He shouted. Mouth agape as the door man was met with a bayonet to his chest. A frag thrown in,

panicked voices arose inside before the door had closed. The front side collapsing casing he barbed wire above to fall. Several shouts rang out from the tunnels due to the extreme heat only to get ensnared in the tangled vestiges of the wire tearing themselves as they burned. A hand gripped his shoulder suddenly from behind. Whipping about with bayonet in hand he aimed for the heart but the captains wrist caught in mid-swing as he looked into the others eyes. The ringing cutting through as he eyed the soldiers mouth to read the lips.

"Sir...the trench is ours."

"Reinforcements!" A soldier cried out in hope of somehow surviving.

"I though you said there weren't going to be reinforcements.

Cap'm Hayes?" A soldier asked looked over at the captain. His dirt torn frame shrouded in dust and blood. His helmet barely staying on.

"I did." The captain responded.

"Then what the hell is that?" the soldier yelled pointing out to sea.

Three large boats similar to the LCI but much larger. The craft were small in number but sill were capable it looked to be holding thousands. Each glowed with its own unique color. A yellow, green, and black glaze shimmered from their paint. No rust was evident almost as if they were made yesterday. An odd horn like sound pulsed from the barren waters. Louder than any horn from any ship they knew. All fighting ceased almost suddenly in response to the noise forcing everyone to cover their ears. The waves ceased, remaining still. Another large blare shook the ground as the vehicles came to a halt on the sandy beaches. Both allied and axis alike looked on in curiosity and amazement.

The mega sized Higgins like boat pulled the front gate up slowly. A snout poked out sniffing the air. Slowly the creature walked out. Almost raptor like in appearance, the thing held no weapon in its clawed hands, no clothing of any kind. It scales shimmering in the dim sunlight as its bright eyes looked about cat like in its movements. The creature stood uneasily studying its surroundings. Swinging his head to the side it caught sight of a medic who was perplexed at the sight no longer tending to the wounded. The animal, about seven feet tall to the top of its head, approached the doctor bobbing its head up and down. The creature trilled at the scent looking down at his gory hands. His snout sniffing at the scent, with a quick jab of its head the medic let out a horrific cry. {ulling back stumps now as he fell, flailing bloody stubs.

The captain cursed as the creature chirped loudly in which the other two ship bays opened. Thousands upon thousands of them poured out onto the beach head. Another blare sounded.

Both Allies and Axis forces turn their guns onto the beach in desperation of the alien assault. A Nazi turned towards Captain Hayes and laughed, "They fight for the Fuhre- Augh!" A pair of jaws lodging into his spine from behind cracking bone and cartilage with ease and tearing away with a small squeamish sound as the insides fell flowed from the gaping wound.

"No, not really." Captain Hayes spat.

Let me know what you think of the intro as a whole and if it looks like it has any potential and what you would like to see in the plot as well. Any input is greatly appreciated. And it gets more interesting I promise. *Snickers* But I cant give away any spoilers however.
