Husky is to hot for here.
#5 of Tail?
The tag arrived at the office in a turquoise box with the word Tiffany and Co. written on it. "A bit expensive but worth it", thought David. It read, as he had wished, 'David' in the front in a font with each letter being represented by multiple engraved line in some form of fancy calligraphy. The back read Sara's clinic's phone number and the message 'If you find my dalmatian please contact me'. It was in the shape of a bone and as is standard was made of pure silver. "Werewolves be ware" thought David with a silent chuckle.
How could it possibly be, that he had fallen so much in love in the passing of hours. Of coarse it had been a week since that day and night. But the fact remained he had fallen for her at the park. Sure at the moment the Walk had been more important than the relatively insignificant fact that he had fallen in love but... Now he was her Dalmy and he couldn't contain the way that made him feel. All the rejection was worth knowing what true acceptance felt like.
Sara on the other hand was busy taking care of her beloved clients. She had a loving hand with animals and even the most detestable of veterinarian activity where more tolerable for her patients, because she was the one who took the samples and gave the vaccinations. While she took care of her daily activities she would think of her Dalmy. She would have swooned had her professionalism allowed it. Still Sara worried about how different they where. Even if she where to ignore the fact he wasn't human, she had already done that once, the fact remained he was rich at least compared to her, athletic compared to her and so on. In fact she felt down right too meager to love or be loved by such a wonderful person.
Tonight a week after they had met first he had invited her to picnic he would prepare, he cooks she thought, and then show her something he had made a big fuss about keeping secret until she arrived. Well as it was she dressed more casually this time in blue again cotton this time. "Plain as day", she thought. She also brought a broad rim hat in case it was sunny. He was already setting up the blanket on the patch of grass where there dogs had played in after there masters had let go of there leaches in fit of fainting and tripping. "You silly boy do you ever forget a thing?" Sara asked David. "No, I do not." David answered smugly.
He took out a set of fruits, cheeses , and a loaf of bread two wine glass and a bottle of room temperature water and one of Sara's favorite wine. And finally a small box rapped in unassuming brown paper and twine like a parcel ready to be mailed across country. She looked in to his eyes and he said "That my dear is for later."Sara could clearly see the collar she had placed over his neck that night over David's white cotton T-shirt which he wore with blue jeans and no shoes. She was still embarrassed she had done such a thing but he seemed to ware it with pride. The leather had darkened she could tell with repeated soaking from his daily showers. She felt a sort of painful happiness at these thoughts.
He served her wine and she took some grapes and some of the cheese from the things he had prepared. He also raised some dark red berries to her lips and she accepted them and savored there sweet savoriness. Once they had finished there light meal David placed the box in her hand. She unwrapped it carefully. She was afraid. She took it out of the black box it had been transferred to and giggled "a bone shaped dog tag with David's name?" she thought as it turned on its link she recognized her phone number. And continued to read "If you find my dalmatian, please contact me". Sara began to cry uncontrollably. David took her into his arms and told her "I love you and I think I always will." Sara cried harder and David took her chin in his hand and kissed her tears away and then kissed her.
Sara couldn't speech the obvious words that she knew where true and she knew she must say wouldn't come to her quivering lips "I love you too.". It seemed to her imposable to say this truth so she kissed her David and cried and thought to herself "I love you too, I love you too, I love you too..."
David's response to what was left unsaid was simple. "You don't have to say a thing. I already know.". Sara spoke, "No. No I must say it or else I'm going to explode." Sara took the collar with her free hand. And held the little silver bone in the other. "David I love you, too" Sara said with trembling voice as she placed the link of the bone onto the link of the collar.
Sara began to speak again after a while of calm silence. "What should I do? I mean I'm going to have to go through that treatment maybe I'll choose a husky. No it's too hot here for that ok I'll be a lab. It's settled I'll become a labrador." . David was a bit confused "What are you talking about Sara?"
"Well of coarse I cant stay like this and be yours ."
"What do you mean 'of coarse'?" David asked perplexed.
"It's simple really there's no way you can fall in love with someone as plane as me when your so extraordinary. So I'll just go ahead and change my form so that we can be together for however long God wants us to be."
"My silly, silly, Sara I couldn't love you any more if you where made of solid gold. You are in no way simple instead your gloriously beautiful. Simply put I love you. I don't need you to change." He kissed her again this time with passion of there first kiss. He wanted in that moment to Know her again so that there could be no room for doubt. But of coarse that would have to be left for another moment perhaps tonight. He kissed her again and again and again.
