Journey to Another World 6
Ch. 109
A few minutes later found me sitting down at a bench at the far edge of the park, with my thoughts in a whirl. On the one hand, I was being just as bad as the man who taught the Articuno how to rape those helpless to fight against it, (As I was able to overpower the bird and leave it to the whims of the bugs that'd soon descend upon the bird to get at the honey), whereas the other hand had me trying to show the bird just how it felt to be on the receiving end of a rape. I let my head droop, placed my hands on either side of my head, and then tried to press my head together from either end.
'Am I as bad as the man who did this to the Articuno in the first place?' Ever so slowly I raised up my head and looked towards the ancient building at the opposite side of the park and let out a drawn out breath/sigh. "I mean, most people don't realize the harm they're doing until they themselves are faced to deal with same thing as their victims." That part came out of my rationing side, but still I couldn't help but fell horrible for having to resort to this kind of a tactic in the first place.
"Worrying over something," came a voice from somewhere behind me. At first I didn't recognize the voice but after a few moments I remember the young/female voice.
"Hay there twinkle toes; long time no talk," I said to the air as I raised up my head, look over my shoulder, only to find no-one there. "I take it that you're talking to me through the speaker system again," to which there is a sigh from somewhere and to which I take as an affirmative to my suspicion.
"I've been watching you sit there in the Pal-Park for quite a while and I have to say it's odd."
This got me to raise up an eyebrow and tilt my head to the side. "How so?"
"Normally when I go into the Pal-Park I have to have to have a 'cute' Pokémon with me, otherwise that guy at the gate will bump me out and tell me to come back later." I couldn't help but laugh at that thought of my little sister walking around a park with what could only be that of a 'cute' Pokémon following her.
'I wonder what type of 'Cute' Pokémon she'd have following her around in here,' I wondered to myself as I went over what I knew of 'Cute' Pokémon and that of what my sister liked along those few Pokémon. It was then that I heard a soft giggle come from nowhere and I berated myself at the memory of a talk we'd had a while back where she'd been able to read my thoughts, as they'd shown up on the screen. "Let me guess; my thoughts are still showing up on the screen," to which there came a confirming giggle once more.
"But all that aside," my sister began as I heard her little giggle turn into a slight titter then a long sigh of relief as if she'd just gotten ahold of herself and her laughter. "What are you doing in the Pal-Park? I thought you'd still be traveling with all your Pokémon and heading for the Pokémon League."
I leaned slightly forward so that I now looked as if I were about to get up from my seat and placed my elbows on my knees while interlacing my finger in front of me. "I had thought of it, but in the end I decided that this was probably the best of ways to get my plan started."
"Plan?" I heard my sister ask in a curious tone, to which I couldn't help but smile at as I knew that my little sister was the curious type and could often get her into some interesting predicaments when it came to her satisfying her curiosity.
"The plan to get me healthy," I stated simply as I once again leaned back on the bench and lay both my arms along the top of the bench. "The biggest problem that I face right now is my health," I let out a long sigh. "I know that I need to find a way out of here, but I can't do that as my health deteriorates," I let out another long sigh and sniffed to clear my nose. "I mean..., I can't get anywhere or get out of here if I'm laid up in bed with some kind of illness."
"I guess that is true to a point, but don't you think that you should still head to the end of the game?" She asked in a tone that broached a true interest in the answer.
Ever so slowly I raised an eyebrow at that question and wondered about its merit. 'Does she believe that if I finish the game that it will let me wake up?' I gave that idea a bit of thought, but in that I eventually came to the conclusion that even if I did catch the legendary Pokémon at the end of the game that it still wouldn't end for me. 'There are a whole lot of other Pokémon out there and in this kind of game there isn't really an end. You can still collect more Pokémon, more places to explore, and complete the Pokédex.'
After thinking over my answer for another minute or two I finally sighed and shook my head. "I have something else in mind that should help me, but all that stems from your help." I raised my head straight up as if to look towards the sky. "Were you able to get it?"
There came a long pause in which I heard the sound of something heavy being set down and then the sound of a zipper opening something. "I have to admit big brother that it wasn't easy in finding the things you asked for." I raised an eyebrow at that, but before I could ask about further details I heard the sound of a Gameboy powering up. "I mean, getting the parts and the Gameboy wasn't hard, but finding the right one that can still connect to yours was the biggest problem of them all."
"Wait...what?"
"Your Gameboy is about three versions old now big brother. It took me a while to find someone willing or had one of the same kind you had willing to swap."
As I thought about that I had to agree that there was that possibility. When I'd gotten my Gameboy I'd heard that there was going to a new release of a new version coming out soon, but I knew that it really didn't matter all that much since I would still be able to play the newest version of Pokémon on the Gameboy I'd been given. On another note, it also stood to reason that with the new version of a Gameboy coming out that the version I'd been given would've been drastically discounted in price in hopes that they could still sell it even in the rush of everyone going after the new and improved version. Though...mine was now three versions old...just how was that possible?
'I guess it really doesn't matter in the end,' I thought as my sister had said that she had been able to do what I needed her to do.
"I should have everything ready and setup here in a bit," she paused for a bit as if to think about what she was going to say next. "Do you have a Pokémon that you want to trade out for the one I'm going to trade to you?"
I was about to yell at her that that was out of the question, but stopped before anything came out of my mouth as I'd never yelled at her before and now wasn't the time to start. Once my anger was under control once more I thought about it all from a different point of view. I mean, how could she even think that I'd want to give away one of my family members. It would've been like selling them into a far lesser form of slavery or something, or worse, but as I thought about that I heard the sound of something screaming not far off in the distance and smiled as my eyes fell upon that of the ruined buildings at the far side of the Pal-Park. "I think I've got just the one," I said with a bit of glee in my tone.
After the whole thing was done I held up what could only be that of a Master Pokéball. "Couldn't catch one with an ordinary Pokéball?" I asked nobody to which I didn't know if I was going to get an answer. There came a huff in return to which I couldn't help but laugh myself.
"You wouldn't believe how hard it was to catch that thing," I heard my little sister say in a tone that left little to how frustrated the process had been. "I did everything you suggested, even went to the very beginning of the game where the Pokémon there are bare out of their level 5's, and still that ruddy thing wouldn't let me catch it."
To that I couldn't help but laugh as I thought about how hard it'd been for a friend of mine, back before this whole thing had started, that he'd tried to do the same thing but had met with only that of frustration and he too had to use a Master Pokéball to catch the Pokémon he'd been after (Namely that of a Lugia). "Well, at least you were able to catch one," I held up the ball and marveled at seeing a Master Pokéball in the flesh and wondered if I could transfer the Pokémon within to another and get this one reset for use against something else. 'Now if the legends are true...I shouldn't have to worry about my health any longer.'
"Well anyways, I hope that you take care of that Articuno for me. She...it can be a hard one to handle," I said and more or less regretted telling my little sister that the legendary Pokémon really did have a sex.
"It doesn't listen to commands...got it." She said in which I was a bit surprised that she hadn't caught my slip and was only concerned in obedience. "Though you're going to have to explain how you came by such a legendary bird the next time that I talk with you."
"I'll do that," I said in a happy tone in which I really was looking forward to talking to her again sometime soon. "But before you go, what did you name it?"
"Oh, didn't I tell you?" She asked in a general/mischievous tone.
"Uh...no, and now I'm beginning to think that you probably gave it some kind of name that's going to be really embarrassing to say to others." This got my sister to laugh for a bit but eventually she just sighed.
"To tell the honest truth, I did think about naming it something that reflected my anger to its reluctance at being caught. But in the end I decided that I'd name it something close to what you're going to use it for."
"And that would be?"
"Phoenix."
