#1 of Time travellers
Part one of my first story series. If you know chrono trigger, this might seem like that a lot later on. " " represents talking. ‘ ' represents thinking The assassin crept into her target's bedroom. Everyone in the house was already dead and now she would collect her bounty target. ‘Tis just too easy. They never stood a chance! I even sent him a warning and he only added more useless guards. I actually might use him, they say he is one hell of a human male. He would make a great sacrifice.' ‘When I get back to my own time I will kill that mage who sent me here. He has no idea how long it took me to get used to cars and everything else here since I am from 600 AD.' Quickly and as silent as death, the assassin went to his bed and then using rope she had found, tied the human up. She did it so quickly and quietly that he did not wake up until she shoved the gag in his mouth. He tried to scream and run but he couldn't. "Be still human or I will slay you where you are now!" ‘Huh that shut him up good.' "Now if you try to escape, you will die a very painful death." Oh and no one is going to come to your rescue because they are all dead. I even framed your ex-wife so basically I was never here." "Mph!!" She easily picked him up and carried him back to her den. Thanks to her enhanced strength that she got from her grandmother who married a dragon, it was very easy to lift almost anything. Once back at the cave she debated whether or not to use him as a sacrifice. Unfortunately for him, she chose to use him. "Now for me to do this properly, I have to cut you into five pieces and keep you alive so we are going to remove your fingers from your left hand. Some mages cut the person into five pieces and use a spell to keep them alive until it is over but I will not do that to you." "MPPPHH??????" "NNNN" "PLSSS NN" "Shut up! It is not going to hurt thee that much. Oops I just said thee. You don't use that anymore do you? Now this concoction will numb your hand completely so just look away. Right you are going to be coming with me. Now let's get this gag off so you can talk." "Who are you? What are you talking about?? What are you going to do to me? Where are you taking me???" "Shut up! I don't belong in this time period. I am from the past and the only way to get back is to use a human as a sacrifice! You will not die but you will come with me back. The nature of the spell is unpredictable but I can decide to go back in time or forwards. Hopefully we will get back to my time period but we might not. ‘After all, I do recall my grandparents telling me that I looked exactly as someone who they met years ago. Now that I think about it that might have been me.' Right one more thing, when we go back, you will gain some kind of power or at least that is what the books say about humans. Now I am going to cut your fingers off but don't worry I know how to replace them." Slowly she cut off the fingers and placed them in a strange shape the man had never seen before but he did have a case of déjà vu. She began speaking strange words that went something like this "Patefacio a prodigium quod transporto nos per vicis" he recognized them as Latin but he did not know what it meant. Then this swirling orb appeared. It was blue and just did not look natural. The man felt he was being sucked into the thing. "What is that??" "That is a time portal now come on." She grabs him and jumps in. The man passed out as he watched the time stream in its raw form. He finally wakes up in a cave alone. He looks at his hand and to his surprise sees his fingers attached. "Hello! Are you there? Man where did she go? Leaving me here? Alone?? It makes me so mad!! To think that anyone could get to me and then use me like a sheep. Arghhhh!! Levitas!!!!!" Schhhhhhhhhhhhhh boom. "What in the??" ‘What just happened?? Did I do that?? What did I just say?? Levitas?? Well lets try it again' "levitas!!" Schhhhwoeeeeeee! A lightning bolt was shot from his hand. "AHHHH!! What the hell? Was that you human?" "I guess so" "So that is what they mean when they say humans gain something. Don't do that again!" "Why? I doubt you can do anything. Now take me back or else" "Else what" ‘he thinks that his petty attack can hurt me? Hah!' "Levitas!" Schhhhh kchchchcchch. "What did I just tell you?" "You swatted it aside like a baseball!" "Yeah what you just did was a basic lightning bolt. Easy to deflect and can be absorbed by those that have an affinity for lightning magic. I have an affinity for dark magic so I am in control here. If you do that again I am going to aim at you and see how well you take it in your balls!! Now tell me what your name is." "My name is Robert. What is yours?" "Caroline." "So Caroline, where are we then? Are we in your time period? Are you going to kill me?" Ummm no. We were flung way back. I don't know when exactly but I think it is in the B.C. ages. I saw a village and I think that is where we should go. Oh and No I am not going to freaking kill you. Yet" "Why would we go to the village? They might try to kill us. " "I don't think so." "Why?" "Because I saw some more modernish humans there and they had some weird machine with them that looked like it was what they arrived on." "Well let's go." Robert and caroline now make their way to the village where caroline saw the modernish people and are quite surprised when they get there. "Alright now where is this village?" "Will you stop asking me!! Clearly I don't know how far it is!!" "Well in case you haven't realized, I'm not really the outdoors person!" "Oh really?! I thought you were" "Ok your sarcasm is not necessary" "Clearly it is or you would not ask me questions that you know I cant answer!!!" "Jeez alright alright." "Thank you" They walk for a while in silence and then Robert asks about caroline's life. "So how did you get into my time?" "What? I haven't told you? Oh sorry! Well, it all started like this:
- * "Hey! If you would stop running away, then this would be easier for both of us!!" "Hah and let you kill me? Your soul is as dark as your fur!" "It is not, you are the evil one!" "What?? Who told you that? I am not evil!" "That is not what the mayor said!" "What?? Ok this game of cat and mouse is boring me." "Transporto is fossor per vicis!" "Wait Noooo. Auugghh! When I get my hands on you I am going t.........."
- * "And when I woke up, I was in your time period" "Wow that is amazing!" "So tell me about yourself Bob. It is ok if I call you bob right?" "Yeah it is. Well let's see here. I was living a normal life, going through school and college with good grades and landing a job as a scientist. I invented a machine that would allow someone to look through time and got to retire early. Then you find me and here I am." "Oh hey there is the village! Lets go." They arrive at the village and find that the people are mostly human with a few animal traits thrown in. When they get there though, they find that they are attacked on sight because of Carolines fur color. "Demon!!" "What?" Caroline said. "GET THEM!!" "Uh oh caroline I think we should go!" "Too late for that" said a voice behind them "Who are you?" "I am Chrono and you look like you want to kill the villagers!" "Well we don't!" "How do we know that thee art telling the truth?" said another voice. "You're just going to have to ... You're a frog!!" "Yes he is frog and you enemy" "Why do you have a tail??" "Enough!! Flatus!!" Boom!! "Now we do not want to hurt anyone. We merely want to go home." "How did you get here then?" "Magic. I am from the year 600 and he is from the year 2030." "Ok so you want to get home but why are you here?" "Well, Chrono was it? She did a spell where she used my fingers to travel back in time to wherever the magic thought she needed to go so yeah" "Ok then we will take you back to your time periods." "How?" "Oh on this vehicle here which we call "Epoch" "Alright lets go!" They all board the Epoch and off they go back to the future! They arrive first at the year 600 where they find something terrible has happened. "We're here." "Wow that was fast right Bob? Bob?? Oh he's fainted again!" "Help us!!! Please help us!" "Who said that? Looking around they see someone running towards them calling for help. They all get out and caroline drags bob with her and they find out what the man wants. "What's wrong?" asks Chrono "Our village has been over run by ... Caroline?!? Is that you?" "Yup its me" "The mayor said that the mage killed you. And then the mage dies in the fight to try to save our village while the mayor runs." "Well what were you saying before!" Chrono asks a little impatiently. "Right our village has been overrun by monsters!" Robert has now awakened and just heard something about monsters. "Wha... Monsters?!? Where, when are we?" "Oh you finally woke up? Well we are in the year 600 and we are now going to go save my village Bob!!! Let's go!" Criticism is good.
