As I started to wake up, I stretched my arms and looked around. Travis was nowhere to be seen. I was alone in his bed. How did he get out without waking me up? I usually don't sleep so soundly when I spend the night at other people's houses. Eh, whatever he must have went downstairs. I rolled out of bed and realized I wasn't wearing any clothes. I looked around for what I was wearing yesterday but I couldn't find them anywhere on the floor. Travis must have picked them up and put them somewhere.
I didn't want to walk around Travis' house naked but I also didn't want to go through his drawers looking for clothes I might be able to wear. To check the time I reached over to grab my phone off the nightstand. It was 10:02. Damn I'm going to be late, I thought, I'd better get going soon. I picked up my phone and realized there was a note underneath it.
"Good morning sleepy head,
I hope you're all rested up! You are one heavy sleeper. I tried to get you up earlier but you just moaned and put your head into the pillow. It was actually quite adorable... Anyways, I ran a few errands earlier and saw something I just had to pick up for you. They're in the second drawer of my dresser. Once you're ready, come down to the kitchen for another surprise.
Travis"
As the note instructed I went over to his dresser and opened the second drawer. I looked down in shock as there was only one item in the specified draw, a skimpy blue speedo. I couldn't help but laugh, "is he serious?"
It's either this or nothing I guess. I pulled the speedo out of the drawer and put it on. It was a tight fit, but everything was covered sufficiently. I left my phone on the nightstand and proceeded to walk out of Travis' room. After a few twists and turns and a flight of stairs, I eventually made it to the kitchen. Where I found Travis wearing a similar looking red speedo.
"Good morning Dan, lookin' good," Travis winked and went back to cooking something on the stove.
"Good morning, you don't look so bad yourself," I smirked and took a seat at the island in the middle of the kitchen, "is there a reason we're not wearing shirts and pants? Haha"
"Well," he began, "I like feeling comfortable in my own home, you know? Are shirts and pants really that comfortable?"
"I guess not," I laughed.
"I have your only change of clothes in the dryer anyway. They were filthy so I threw them in the washer earlier with a load of my clothes."
"Thank you, you didn't have to do that."
"Sure I did"
"And why is that?"
"Did you want me to drop you off in nothing but a speedo?" he turned around again smiling.
"N-nooo... but I could have worn my clothes home dirty and cleaned them later," I stated as I got up and made my way over to Travis.
"Well yes I guess you could have," he said as he felt my right hand wrap around his hip.
"So what are you making?" I inquired rubbing my left hand up and down his rock hard abs.
"Well... I'm making French Toast stuffed with a cream cheese filling and topped with either blueberry or strawberry syrup."
"Wow from scratch?" I asked surprised at what he just told me.
"Yes from scratch. It's the only way food should be prepared."
"Wow... I am very impressed. Do you need me to do anything?"
"No I'm ok..." he said while still thinking, "on second thought, could you grab the whipped cream from the fridge?"
"Absolutely," I answered letting go of Travis to grab the whipped cream from the fridge.
"Great and just put it at the table in the sun room over there," he pointed to a small room off the kitchen with a small table consisting of two chairs. The room was pure glass and looked into his backyard, which was way bigger than I was expecting it to be. It was very jungle looking with random shrubs, trees, and small gardens everywhere.
"Hey Travis?" I called out to him.
"Yeah?" he yelled back.
"Do you have a gardener, your back yard is amazing."
"Yeah I have someone come and landscape my gardens and mow my lawn every week."
"They do a great job..." I said trailing off.
"Yeah I'll have to take you back there sometime and show you my pool as well."
"YOU HAVE A POOL??" I exclaimed rather excitedly.
"Yeah," he giggled, " I own a mansion, why wouldn't I put a pool in too?" he laughed. "I love swimming from time to time although I don't use it as much as I want to. I usually just go to the gym and end up working out too long, then I get too exhausted to do anything else."
"Well we're going to have to change that, I love swimming!"
"You are certainly wearing appropriate swim attire right now."
"Yeah... thanks for that," I laughed.
"Will you grab us some juice from the fridge? The French Toast is just about done."
"Yeah sure thing," I said walking over toward the fridge. I opened the door and looked around. There was an orange juice container on the top shelf. I grabbed it and closed the door. I walked back to the breakfast area and placed the orange juice on the table and sat down to wait for breakfast.
Travis walked over with several pieces of stuffed French toast on a large plate. He placed the plate in the center of the table so that both of us could serve ourselves. "Which flavor would you prefer? Strawberry or blueberry?"
"Hmmm... I think I'll go with blueberry, thank you," I answered.
"No problem, that's my favorite," Travis smiled and walked back toward the fridge to get blueberry syrup.
I poured myself a glass of orange juice and prepared myself for this delicious looking meal that was in front of me. "Travis would you like some orange juice?"
"Yes please!"
"Great," I replied pouring some ice-cold orange juice into his glass. Shortly after I finished pouring his drink, Travis returned to the table with the blueberry syrup. He placed the syrup on the table next to the plate of French toast.
"Dig in!" Travis decreed.
He let me grab my pieces of French toast first. I started off with two pieces. I topped off my toast with the fresh blueberry syrup which also had chunks of blueberry infused with it. I couldn't get over how picture perfect my meal looked. It was almost a shame to cut into it and eat it. Almost. I proceeded to cut into the French toast and take my first bite. "mmmmm" I moaned, "oh my god. This is amazing. Where did you learn to cook like this?"
"Just some skills I picked up from my Grandma when I was a kid."
"Well its incredible."
"I'm glad you like it," he smiled, "I guess that means you'll have to come over for breakfast more often."
"I guess so..." I chuckled.
Travis and I barely talked as we enjoyed the rest of our breakfast. We went for seconds and ate all the French Toast he prepared in about 6 minutes. We were hungry, but after we were finished eating we sat there for a minute to let the food digest.
"When would you like me to take you home?"
"Well I actually have to get going pretty soon. I had some errands to run this morning but since I slept in I'll just have to do them later. I have a meeting with a friend in a bit and she's meeting me at my apartment at 11."
"Sounds fun," Travis said, "We can head out after I put the dishes in the sink."
"Please allow me," I said grabbing Travis' dish, "it's the least I can do for you making me such an amazing breakfast."
"Why thank you Dan."
After the dishes were rinsed off and in the sink, Travis threw my clothes to me and told me to get dressed. I ran to the bathroom to change out of the skimpy blue speedo and put on my regular clothes. After we were both done changing Travis grabbed his car keys and motioned me to follow him out to his car. We got in and Travis hesitated to start the car.
"Listen..." Travis said with a serious tone, "I really had a great time with you last night. It was amazing. How was it for you?"
"Is that a serious question?" I asked laughing, "it was amazing! The best I've ever had. Not that I've had much, but I mean you really know how to pleasure someone." I looked Travis in the eyes and smiled. Travis put on a smile and as he started to turn the key to the ignition, I leaned in and kissed him. The car started and Travis put his arms around me and rubbed my back as our tongues danced around for a few moments. After the kiss was over I smiled at him again, "don't worry, we will have plenty more get togethers."
"Oh I have no doubt about that," Travis grinned putting the car in reverse and backing out of his driveway. The gate at the end of the driveway opened up to let us out. He drove down the street toward my apartment. The ride was silent for a bit but Travis had the radio on. So it wasn't like we were sitting in silence. Travis seemed to be enjoying the song that was playing because he was humming and singing along occasionally. I just stared out the window, thinking about the rest of my day.
When can I stop seeing Allison? It feels like the incident happened so long ago... right?
"Hey," Travis spoke interrupting my train of thought; "if you're not doing anything Wednesday night I'm having a fundraiser for one of my charities."
"I think I have plans with Pat Wednesday night let me check... but I could always postpone if we do."
"No need to postpone, I'll send him an invitation as well."
"He'd love that! I guess we'll both be in attendance then. He worships the ground you walk on," I laughed.
"Oh does he?" Travis said sarcastically, "I hadn't noticed."
"He's just a little star struck."
"A little?" Travis smirked, "Try a lot," he laughed.
"You're an idol of his!"
"And what's he going to think about his idol doing his best friend?"
"Uh..." I trailed off unsure of how to answer the question, "I mean... he knows I'm gay I'm just nervous about bring my significant other around because everyone says they're 'ok' with it but it still grosses some people out that boys make out with boys and girls make out with girls."
"I know what you mean, it can be a struggle," Travis said placing his free hand on my thigh, "but you like what you like... and what we like..." he said caressing my inner thigh, "is REAL good," he looked over and winked. "So don't let them bother you. If they can bring their significant others around you can too. There is no such thing as normal."
"Thanks..." I smiled. He was right. Not that there was any question about it. I've always known that. But it's still hard, knowing your best friend accepts you for who you are but also knowing at the same time that any gay PDA really disgusts them. They 'accept' you but won't let you show any affection and I'm not talking about making out in public. I'm talking about holding hands, a peck on the cheek, or even a hug that is more than a friendly hug. It is hard being 'accepted' but still made uncomfortable about those situations because of things you have heard your friends say in the past.
"Are you alright?" Travis asked clearly worried from my facial expression and lack of communication.
"Yeah, I'm just thinking about all I have to do today," I lied.
"You never answered my question, what do you think Pat is going to think when you tell him?"
"When I tell him what?"
"That we're seeing each other."
"Oh..." I trailed off. All of this is happening so fast.
"I mean after all we did last night... you want to be exclusive right? You don't want me to go doing what I did to you last night to others right?" He laughed making light of the situation.
"Ofcourse not!"
"That's why people date, to see where things are going to take us and if they are compatible."
"This is true," I laughed, "I absolutely want to be exclusive with you Travis. I am just in shock that this is happening so fast."
"Well when I see what I want, I go for it."
And with that Travis pulled into my apartment complex and unlocked the car doors. "Until next time Dan," Travis smiled and gave me a small peck on the cheek.
"I'll talk to you soon. Thanks for everything," I said and got out of the car. I waved goodbye to Travis as he drove away. I turned around to face my apartment building and started walking toward apartment 1C. I turned the corner and saw Allison standing there...
"Good morning Dan! Are you ready to start?"
