Meanwhile in another room of the mansion
Despite all the screaming and drama going on downstairs; Bleu was dead to the world in all senses as she lay asleep on nothing more than a mattress and a somewhat torn blanket: the only things somehow remained somewhat intact (though sopping wet) from her wraith. The mattress sat on the very top of in the wreckage of many different type of broken things, candy wrappers, and empty cans of soda that lay littered all over the guest room that served as her temporary room in herself imposed exile from her Master's bedroom.
Bleu wasn't happily asleep mind you. In fact she appeared to be having a nightmare that she couldn't wake up from. The aqua rabbit appeared to be fighting it tooth and nail however. The evidence being the constant thrashing and stray burst of Water Gun that escaped her mouth adding on to the already numerous puddles that dotted the carpeted floor in the room.
Blue also appeared to mumbling in her sleep "No...NO! won't do it! won't! NO!" a burst of Water Gun nearly hit the shadowy figure standing over her but it was easily dodged and did nothing but annoy him.
"But it will force him to love you... like you love him "whispered the shadow.
Bleu stopped for a few seconds in her thrashing "No! Lies! Will do opposite!... Besides I want to force him MY way. I will not do your bidding dark one" Another jet of water was fired and unlike the other multiple attempts this one managed to hit the shadow in the face but it was only due to a healthy combination of both luck and the element of surprise did Bleu manage to accomplish this feat.
Fury was evident on the shadow's face but he hid it well from his voice as he whispered:
"Not even if it's to save your loved ones from a fate worse than death?"
Bleu froze. Horror bleeding in to her real body's expression
_ *Now for the finish * _thought the shadow before whispering "If you don't head my orders: I'll make sure you and everyone you love will suffer unimaginable torment...here allow me to give you a taste of what I have to offer."
The shadow made himself comfy since it was only a matter of time before the aqua rodent...rabbit-thing? broke. Now... it was time for his favorite part.
Bleu' s screams of agony went unheard by the people downstairs because just moments ago both of Darkrai's current charges that he had taken under his loving wing had collapsed and were in the process of being rushed off to the hospital. What started out as a painful migraine and a nosebleed turned into a equally simultaneous coma with a dash of something more fun than a barrel of Chimchars: that's right nightmares they couldn't awake from.
That is until Darkrai was satisfied...or at least until they get out of range; which should be about a mile away from the hospital. Wouldn't the parents be oh so pleased when they learn that the child and mouse are alive and perfectly fine besides the shock from the pure and utter terror they experienced minutes before? The bloody nose, migraine, and sudden comatose thing was just for show and to get everyone out of the house for a while so Darkrai can entertain another rodent.
After all it was a school night. Wouldn't want the boys to miss out on their education.
"All right! I'll do it!" screamed the aqua rabbit.
Well that was quicker than expected. They only made it past a couple minutes into the dream sequences. Poor thing must be too weak of heart to handle watching her family being violently tortured. Course there was more focus geared toward the man she loved and the other participants were like background singers that sweetened the orchestra of torment. So Darkrai could kind of see why the rodent gave up so easily.
But who was Darkrai to complain about a easy victory? Still he was thankful that she wasn't as stubborn, durable, or brave as the boy. Made his job as easy as it was boring. Was actually a positive thing really since it sickened Darkrai to be in the same room as the thing that shared half of the element typing as the wench chasing him. Now messing with the boy on the other hand, now he was a dish! Darkrai enjoyed toying with the boy so much so that he dropped all his other appointments so he could focus full heartily on this one. Elliot was much more fun and tastier to torment than this spoiled, rotten smelling thing that tasted exactly like garbage, Darkrai wouldn't even wipe his foot on this bitch.
Still Darkrai had to do it for the mission...speaking of.
"The things that you need are right next to your...nest. Judging from your pathetically weak heart and drive-"
Bleu winced at the insult
"-I know with utmost certainty that you will do a lot of dilly dallying in order to 'prepare' for your role. But be warned I have only a very limited amount of patience. So any night you delay you can expect more nightmares and further torment than you can flop those pathetic things you call ears at. Do you understand?"
Bleu rather loved her ears and Darkrai knew this. Pain, sadness, fear, and complete and utter panic all radiated off of Bleu like heat off of a furnace turned on high: much to the disgust of Darkrai.
"Yes dark one...I do"
"Fantastic. Now sweet dreams"With that Darkrai released his hold on Bleu: immediately sending the Azumarill into a more peaceful dream environment. Then Darkrai placed three small and thin boxes next to the slumbering (and snoring loudly) Bleu. The boxes' were neatly labeled in neat Unknown writing that all Pokémon knew instinctively from hatch-day thanks to the genes they inherit from their parents. The instructions on how to use the contents were inside each box. Instructions that were so simple that even an idiot could follow them without any possible difficulty. There were a few labels on each box; But lighting was too poor for reading however, so the labels couldn't be read at this moment unless the individual looking at the boxes possessed the eyes of a dark or ghost type.
Darkrai climbed out of the open window while thinking to himself _What a vile creature...well now that's done I'm off to take down an easier and less time and energy consuming assignment. After all- _ A dark portal opened up in front of Darkrai just as a familiar bright pink and filled with light portal began to open only a few feet away. Yet Darkrai almost ignored the new presence as if it wasn't there while he finished his thought aloud "-as the saying and song goes: there truly is no rest for the wicked."
A cold and twisted laugh echoed into the night; right into the ears of the being emerging from the other portal seconds before the dark one closed completely.
BEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEP
"hmmmph hnnnng ten more minutes...." I begged the evil time gods that caused my alarm clock to go off.
BEEPBEEPBEEP
I heard a grumble mixed growl right next to my ear "Metal box is challenging Zil again. Can Zil kill it? Just little bit?" Zillian asked groggily: I could almost feel the hate filled glare directed toward my alarm clock. I wanted to kill the thing myself after the night we had but sadly my impromptu vacation from school was at a end.
BEEPBEEPBEEP
"Be my guest man." I grumbled. Immediately after the last of my words I felt Zil launch himself at the alarm clock, then proceeded to bite, knaw, and chew on it like as if possessed by a demon. I of course had to laugh pretty damn hard at his silliness in what felt like my first pure untainted laugh of just amusement I had in weeks instead of just days.
Eventually Zillian accidentally pushed the snooze button just as he lunged for the wire. In order to stop my mouse from being fried; I quickly shouted: "HEY you killed it already man! If you damage it anymore that would just be overkill. Just take the experience points and move on. Besides we need that energy to get though today" Zil gave me a nod and flashed me a triumphant smile "Will you do me a favor? Can you please get the stuff from my dirty pants pocket while I find some clothes?" Zillian nodded and went to do his mission while I stealthily turned the alarm off before it went off again then began digging for my school uniform. Private school sucks let me you; would much prefer to go to public schooling since it would be a whole lot easier to get my straight A's. Too bad I have to go for the rest of the week.
My family was still moving: just not until this weekend. After all the shit that has happened nearly all at once lately: Mom and Dad decided that the move will be postponed for a few days since we couldn't really sell the house until the physical damage the Legendaires had caused was repaired. We still have income flowing in from other locations Dad's company had pitched tents all over the world so we weren't without funds to spend. At least our finances will remain stagnant despite Darkrai's schemes ruining everything else.
Speaking of Dad: the stress last night finally seemed to have been the final straw that broke the camel's back. Five minutes after Zillian and I collapsed Dad also had collapsed from a small scale heart attack. Luckily we took the family limo since it had more room so he wasn't the one driving. It's also a good thing we were almost to the hospital when the heart attack happened or the damage would have been a lot worse than just a scare. Dad was cleared to go home that morning but is temporarily still bed-ridden in the guest room that my parents are sharing (actually strapped to it is more like it). Mom is handling all of the business calls and family matters that need to be solved. Dad hates not being able to work; so at least I'm not the only one suffering from imprisonment.
Yup I'm officially grounded for six months due to my actions the past couple days.
A lot and at the same time nothing has happened the past few days but has resulted in some good and bad news.
Neither good or bad piece of news is this: No one has seen Bleu emerge from her room in days and it's quiet in the guest room. She's is still alive though: eats and drinks plenty if I chose to believe what the servants tell me. Just refuses to speak to anyone and let anyone in the room. Bleu only listens to Dad. A conversation that most likely won't happen since Dad is still a bit bed ridden despite being able to walk around a little. But as long as Bleu hasn't yet tried to force herself on Dad (meaning that she hasn't reached stage 2) than she isn't a threat yet: Meaning I couldn't care less about her at the moment.
Besides last night I overheard Dad say to Mom that he misses Bleu so bad when he gets his strength back up he'll break down the door and fuck his princess's brain's out (Ew).Thankfully Mom is behind him 110%. Still Bleu's silence worries me slightly because she isn't the type to be silent at all:must be a hint of how truly damaged her psyche must be at the moment.
Good news is that the pressure of these events has actually speed up the bridge construction between the large gap between Mom and Dad:so their relationship is back to normal. At least that is one positive thing in this fucked up situation has shown its head at last.
Speaking of patching up relationships I kind of patched up my friendship with Ken. Ken visited yesterday (with girl friend firmly attached to his hip) to ask why I hadn't been showing up to class. Lied. Told him it was sudden family troubles that I didn't want to talk about and there was the whole tunnels collapsing thing so I had to help move as well. Ken accepted my brilliant on the spot lie without a challenge (why would he?).
When had left the room to get a drink- I might need to explain something: in case you haven't figured it out yet I refuse to call the girl by her name. The reason being: Ken is a player and I have trouble remembering names. Anyway while the Gf was gone: Ken and I were watching Lis (his Vulpix) and Zil playfully wrestle on the floor when suddenly he apologized for being a pussy-whipped bitch and promised he would make it up to me before I leave. Then before I could even process a single movement he was already done throwing me against the wall and was threatening that if I didn't Skype, call, or text him to keep in touch that he was going to show up on my new doorstep and go all Scream on my ass with no mercy.
We ended up laughing about the whole ordeal. After that I started teasing him a bit more about his pussy whipped behavior which we shared another laugh over as we went back to shooting zombies in the face. When his Gf came back: I finally remembered to tell them I came out to my parents; much to their delight since they pushed me to do this just as much if not more than Zil had been doing. We continued to talk more about that topic while playing games until they had to leave. I promised them I would be back in school in the following morning. My friends visit was a pleasant reminder of the times when my biggest worry was telling the folks that I was gay... You know before all other shit hit the fan.
Last but not least (probably the best news) is that not even a the smallest sign of the Legendaries has appeared in the past couple days. Hopefully it stays that way but I'm not holding my breath.
Bad news (on top of everything else) is the other conversation I heard between Mom and Dad last night. As I walked towards the shower with Zillian in toe (on his usual place on my head, lazy bastard of a mouse) I replayed the events and conversation that happened on the night I had completely lost it temporarily.
My parents checked on me multiple times throughout that night before they were satisfied that I was going to sleep peacefully through the night. To soothe their nerves I faked being asleep each time. I tried to fall sleep last night, I really did but with how much sleep my body was getting:I just couldn't relax, had too much energy. Zillian was the same way so we decided that a midnight stroll was in order to soothe our nerves. All we had to do was wait for Mom and Dad to fall asleep before we could sneak out.
Seemed luck was on our side for once that night because they appeared to have forgotten about the air vents being open. Because of that I could hear every whisper. Tried to ignore the words and only pay attention to the sound of voices to give my parents their privacy. But when the subject broached me however:I couldn't help but give the conversation my full attention. The conversation went as follows:
"You realize hun that the boy has given up all hope of escape or fight the mess he's in"
Which wasn't technically true, but I was getting close to that point.
"I realized that dear but what can we possibly do? The only thing I can think of is call the law but I know Elly will do anything including run away from home to stay with that mouse."
"They're rebellious, smart, and desperate. A dangerous combination to be sure but...they're really just boys after all. Which means all we have to do is just have to outsmart and catch them off guard. We'll make a few calls in the morning." They continued talking about that topic and others until finally I could hear light snores coming from their room.
I glanced at the weight on my chest to meet a pair of amber eyes glowing in the dark gazing back at me worriedly "that not good. what plan now?"
I gave him a small smile and replied "We continue with our original plan silly, albeit leave a little earlier now" What my parents didn't know was that we had already plan to run away since yesterday morning. This way I wouldn't have to worry about anyone else getting hurt or getting sucked into our fate. Our preparations started that next day after school. If all went well we should be gone the night before the move... if Darkrai doesn't interfere that is.
Well that was the plan that I hatched when we were still using the feather to strengthen the remaining light that rest inside us. But thanks to this bit of information we were forced to work double time in order to gather our things and store them somewhere well hidden but close enough so we can just grab at a moment's notice and then book it when we see red and blue lights along with black vans.
It's been slow and backbreaking work carrying the necessary supplies little piece by little piece to avoid detection from anyone to a hidden little grove under watch by a group (more of gang) of loyal Rattata we had become friends with over the last couple of years.
We are little less than 2/4 of the way done now and it's now Wednesday. Still plenty of time to get the rest before the weekend; even if my parents foil that plan I'm sure we will be able to get what we need along the way.
My parents haven't tried anything yet obviously:which relieves me as much it does stress me out
I heard a knock on the door "HEY! hurry up or you'll be late boy" that was the signal that it was time to go; the water had began to turn cold by the time I was done with musing anyway. I finished my daily routine, left the bathroom, acquired my school things, grabbed a few pop tarts and a chocolate milk box to hold me over till I got to school and probably until lunch (it may be a private school but the cafeteria food still sucks ass! Then again my palette was kind of spoiled on meals that could be served at five-star restaurants) , and rushed to the entrance-way of the our mansion.
But was blocked by my Dad standing in front of it with his hand out. Dad's expression was unreadable but still a stern looking mask: a game face if I ever saw one. When I got close he said: "Zillian's ball. Now. No lip and don't question why." This was abnormal by itself since we are allowed to bring our Pokémon to school. Was actually a requirement since most of schooling is directed at learning how to become Trainers and survival skills . The rest of the academics is secondary.
So what's all this than? What the hell! Did they think I was going to run away today?! Do they think I'm retarded?
No... that's not it...something feels off. This reeked of danger to me.
I paused walking pretending that I was still lost in the morning fog and his demand caught me off guard and even added a raised eyebrow for effect when in reality I was planning my next move.
"Today please" I was taking too long. Saw Dad slowly moving toward me:meaning he was getting ready to jump me. Think damn it think! ...That's it!
I rolled my eyes and mumbled "Really?" I began fishing my pockets for the ball. Thinking that for once I playing along: Dad let out a small sigh of relief as his stretched his arm out even further and came closer just in case I suddenly changed my mind. I gripped something and pulled it out slowly to make sure my hand was blocking Dad's line of sight. I waited until Dad was the perfect distance away. Once the perfect distance was achieved I pulled back, aimed ,and squeezed as hard as I could until the chocolate milk sprayed into Dad's eyes giving me the surprise needed to book it down the hall towards the kitchen. Behind the rear end of the kitchen was the backdoor.
On the way I gave Zillian a more solid perch so he wouldn't fall to the floor or pull my hair out as we closed the distance between us and escape.
"What's going on? Why are we fleeing?"
Despite only running a short distance down the hall I was panting already (Though I'm fast sprinter, I'm still a thinker and maybe a fighter but I'm not a runner. Give me a break!) So it took me a second to respond "Usually you're the more perceptive one so I would have thought you would have smelled that this whole situation reeks of something bad"
I heard Zil scoff "Zil did idiot. Which is why Zil was going to warn Elly but Zil also sensed Elly's flight or fight instinct kick in. Didn't bother. Zil still want to know what the fuck is happening and why Elly fled this way when smartest way was to sneak past pack leader while he blinded"
He did have a point...
I jumped on the table in the dining room to avoid the servants that were lying in wait for us with arms outstretched. Nearly face planted thanks to the slippery cloth but I caught myself just in the nick of time but still found myself stumbling into the floor when I jumped off. Instead of stopping I used my momentum to roll and keep going.
Huh those gym classes really do come in handy in situations like these. I'll have to work harder from now on! Well until I have to leave anyway.
"Damn it Elliot" I heard Bethany scream from behind me. Ignoring her I continued on. I was passed the fridge when I heard Zillian snorting through his nostrils the way he does when catching a scent. Before I could even ask my un-asked question Zil said "Jasper. Storage cabinet. Next to door"
Damn it! The three sets of footsteps were literally seconds behind me!
Thinkthinkthinkthink Ah hah! Bingo. I grabbed Zillian with one hand while taking his minimized Pokeball out with the other than I whispered in his ear. "Once you make it out grab your ball and meet me at the bus stop via the randevu point." With that I maximized the ball, pressed the button that withdrew Zillian before he could even think of an argument (I'll pay for it later because Zillian really HATES being in that thing),set the timer located at the bottom of the ball to six seconds, took aim at a nearby window, then threw the ball at it with all my might towards the opening and like a guided missile it hit it's mark.
I tried to stop running to avoid the storage closet but...
Thanks to my momentum when it opened I hit the door full force which knocked Jasper back into the closet. My nose hurt and I was pretty sure it was bleeding since it took the full brunt of the impact. Despite the pain I managed to push my body forward without breaking stride.
Finally freedom!
Door was opening without me even touching knob. Wait what?
Too surprised from the sudden turn of events I wasn't watching my footing and managed to trip over the bit of plastic/metal thing that seals the space underneath the door and took a tumble and rolled a few times before finally coming to a complete stop. Took a moment for the world to stop spinning but when it finally did I looked up to see Mom clutching Zillian by the scruff (poor guy was doing his best to wriggle free to no avail) while holding the ball in the other.
Mom was shaking her head with an annoyed expression on her face as she said "Honestly. I have no idea where you got this rebellious streak from but I stopped finding it cute ages ago. Especially 7:00 o'clock in the freaking morning. It's a good thing being predicable far outweighs your unpredictability or the world would be in trouble...then again I am your mother so I might have an unfair advantage when it comes to predicting your behavior"
Oh really mom? Let's just see about that.
I got up with a mixed expression of frustration and guilt and replied "Dang it I was so close too! You bested me mom...sorry I'm such a brat" with that I surprised Mom with a hug and she started to sputter because I she hadn't had a willing one from me in ages "Aww... w-well... think nothing of it."
My mouth broke into a smirk when I felt her relax into the hug while she continued speaking "I actually love this part of you, makes boring days exci-HEY!" Suddenly I tore Zillian out of her loosened grip, went up and over the fence, pushed through the gate, and climbed up the bus steps (that I somehow miraculously made it in time for) and collapsed in the closest empty seat. Zillian wiggled his way out of my grip to sit atop my shoulder strap bag that somehow survived the chase and now lay next to me. We both shared a relieved sigh.
I sat up. wiped my nose of the blood already halfway done drying with my sleeve, and placed my overheating head on the cool glass window and said to no one in particular:
"I'm sooo going to get it when I get home."
Meanwhile back in the Braxter's residence
Melina sighed as she watched the bus climb up the hill when suddenly she felt her husband came up from behind her and hold her tightly "Sometimes he is way too smart for his own good." she said in a mutter tinged with frustration
Eyes still red and slightly burning from the chocolate milk incident Paul tried to ignore the stinging sensation as he nuzzled the back of his wife's head while giving the hair that grew there a deep sniff , the pleasant smell of vanilla-scented shampoo and her natural scent instantly relaxed him briefly. Still in bliss he muttered almost whispered "But that's why we always have a Plan B"
"and Plan C and D and E and F" said Jasper as came to stand beside his masters as he also watched the yellow spec disappear out of their sight-line.
"Anything it takes to make sure our children are safe" said Melina
"Even if they hate us for it" finished Paul
The three humans walked into the mansion to await the phone call they were expecting very soon.
