#3 of Kiss My Arse

The night had finally taken over from the horrid daytime and I could finally rest my bruised and aching bones. I had only had two sessions of close quarters combat and weapon training with Rouge and, yet, I was feeling the pain. It seemed that the only way she would train with me was if I was angry. She kept me perpetually enraged as she says that is my strongest strategy in battle. Normally I had being bossed around but I had to drop my pride and independence for the sake of discovering my past. I cared little for the cause (even though my heart was in the right place at times) although I could not leave with an enigmatic past. Also it gets me away from Henderson. The door glided open as I lumbered inside. My coat was heavy as my scabbard came crashing down on the table. "Long day Mitch?" I turned my head to see Krystal sitting on the floor with Ruby next to her. "Yeah you could say that." "Oh don't worry about Rouge, she's just toying with you." I was eager to get to bed, "Right. Well guys it's getting late and I need to be getting to bed." "You can't go to bed now. We need to start to unlock your past" said Krystal pulling out a long chain of mystical beads and a pot of smoking incense. "Do we have to?" I sighed heavily. "Well if you don't want to find out about your past then..." she began to stand up to leave. "No no wait." I cleared my throat, rubbed my face and sat down with them, "Okay, let's begin." "Good." Krystal took a deep breath and held her hands to my head, "Mitch you will feel as if you have thoughts of me. Embrace them and it will allow me passage into your mind." I concentrated hard and soon I had fallen into a trance. I could see her clearly in my mind. "Mitch, open your mind to me," echoed her voice in my mind. "Mitch...open your mind to me." My eyes began to burn and my throat tightened. I began to sweat profusely as my body began to tense under a pressure. The pain became evident and I fell back with my head in my hands. Krystal had done the same yet Ruby was there to catch her. "What the fuck did you do to me?" I said snapping at her and holding my thumping head. "I didn't do anything! Your mind is rejecting me. Something dark is hidden deep within you. I must look closer next time." She tried to rise but stumbled. "Krystal, are you alright?" I asked as she seemed quite limp as she sat. "Yes, I'm fine I'm just a bit drained. It's completely normally." I decided that maybe a long nights sleep will clear my mind from all the confusion and emptiness I felt inside.

The morning had come quickly and, after a quick, small breakfast, I was rushed into the dojo with Rouge. My fighting style had improved dramatically, preferring the ancient way of the Koujo Samurais with lethal thrusts and acrobatic spins it seemed there's was very little Rouge could do to teach me. After a short two hours she stopped our match after the last few matches ended in draws. "You have done very well," she told me, "but not well enough. I am only the starter of basic training." With a click of her fingers, another two entered the room. Fang took his position to her left and Sonic Fox to her right. "You must master the power of inner energy, something I could never achieve." With a subtle nod from Rouge, Sonic Fox stood forward with his arms crossed. "Okay then Mitch, let's see what you've learnt." I decided to wipe the cocky smile off of his face. I pulled out my sword and prepared myself. Raising the blade high in the air I made a dive for the fox only for him to surprise me. A blue glow covered his body and a power engulfed him. With his eyes transfixed and his mind in focus he outstretched one hand. A loud boom proceeded with me being thrown to the other side of the room. I laid in the corner, recovering from the pain. Nik obviously wasn't used to training with friends. "Mitch I'm sorry I didn't mean for it to be that hard," he said in an apologetic tone. Pulling myself from the floor, sword in hand; I quickly found my feet and held the sword up again, asking for another hit. This time, Fang stepped forward with a smile of glee on his face. He held both hands in front of him in a cupped fashion and uttered the phrase of his attack, "Dragon Bullet." No sooner had I heard that I was broken and bruised back in the corner again. Rouge only laughed at my pain, "Would you like power like this?" "Yes," I answered through my suffering. "Well get up and we can begin."

Another aspect of my training was the weapon firing with Fox and Falco. "Welcome to weapons handling and firing," said the blue bird with a huge grin on his face. "Although not the best shot on board, I think I can shoot with the best. This is the mark-1 laser pistol." In front of me he held a small, black pistol with bumps and bits of different arrays. It seemed more of a toy than a weapon. "This is the business end," he said pointing to the barrel, "which fires a plasma round of 500oC towards the foe at a rate close to the speed of light." He thrust the gun towards me and waited for me to reach for it. "I'm not using that." "What?" he gasped in confusion, "Why not?" Returning his smile with one of my own, I removed my dual pistols from their holsters and held them tightly. "9mm desert eagles firing hollow point ammunition at a very fast speed." "Primitive," said Fox, entering the fray, "They went out of date decades ago." "Well get used to it 'cause that's what I'm using." Falco just tusked as he shrugged his shoulders, "Whatever you want wolfie." They escorted me to the shooting range and provided me with ear defenders. The target popper up but I blasted them down again. Round after round flew elegantly through the air and hit it's mark with precision and devastation. After two full clips had been expended, the shooting range finally stopped and I removed the ear defenders. The astounded look on Falco's face was priceless. Fox, however, was less impressed. "Well you're a keen shot," he said as he strolled over to the table on the other side of the room, "but those were just handguns." He tore the sheet from the table to display an array of weaponry; snipers to RPG's, shotguns to SMG's; it was all there. "Let's see what you can do with these."

A few hours on the range and I was completely knackered and, with Falco and Fox screaming at me, I wasn't in the best of moods. Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, I opened my door to find Nik eagerly waiting for me eagerly on the bed. "If I'm honest Nik, I'm not in the mood," I uttered while rubbing my heavy eyes back to life. "Mitch, I have discovered more about your past that I think you should know about. Please join me." He patted the bed and prompted me to sit with him. I humoured him and sat down, stroking my sore back. "First, I must confess that I have deceived you. I took a piece of your hair for DNA testing. Like me, your DNA shows your origin on Cerilia. However, you have an element inside of you which is different. You seem to have a type of parasitic, un-tangible ability that we can't understand yet. This is also why you have the black fur which differs from the rest of our race. You seem to be a new breed of Cerilian for the likes of which this universe has never documented. All I need is a few more sample of which I can analysis to..." "No." I had heard enough for the night as I stood up in anger. "But...but if I could just get..." "NO NIK!" I shouted, "No more. I don't care what race I'm from or my species or any of that shit! I want to know what I was so then I can look up at the stars without wondering each night of what I am! I can drop all of this crap and get back to my normal fucking life! I'm tired of this Nik!" He fell silent and looked down at the floor in shame, realising I was serious. Panting heavily, I slammed the button for the door, "I think you should leave." He solemnly left me in my rage with his silence as a respectful sign. Clenching my fist in my hate I breathed heavily and sighed, dragging myself to my bed for some well deserved sleep.

"Mitch." The loud gunfire blocked out all sound. "MITCH!!!" I ceased my fire, placed my safety on and removed my ear defenders to find Fox standing behind. "Good work Mitch. We think your ready to start taking on the Signit. You up for it?" "Yeah, let's do this." He lead me to the main meeting room of the ship where the team had already assembled around the large table in the centre. Krystal and Sally where geared up along with Falco and Fang. "Mitch, we wondered where you were. We have a surprise for you." A door suddenly open with Sonic Fox walking out holding a sort of package. He seemed quiet (probably a repercussion of the events last night) and laid the boxes on the table and took a seat. "That's yours," said Fox pointing to the box. "But first," Fox exclaimed, "We need to brief you." With the press of a button, a large image came up on the screen, "This is the first of the five Signit commanders." The picture was of a dragon with dark blue scales, dark eyes and a long, spiked tail. "His name is Might Dragon. He has incredible strength with the power to crush the life out of you. After losing his last base in a battle with the local authorities, Might Dragon moved to a spot on planet Siyina. With our informant tracking him, we have pinpointed his location and it's time to make our move on the Signit. Everyone finish getting geared up and meet in the landing bay in 10 minutes." The whole team nodded and then turned their attention back to me. I realised what they want and so I looked back at the box in front of me. Removing the lid I found a space suit neatly folded up. It was covered in buttons, gadgets, gizmos and pockets of general interest. "Whadda ya think?" Fox said excitedly. "Well if I'm honest," I said with a slight pause, "It's gay." "What?" "Well it's just gay and I'm not putting it on. I will not end up looking like bird boy over there." I pointed to Falco who was kitted out in his red battle suit. "I'll wear my normally stuff if you don't mind." "What happens of people start shooting you?" "It's called 'not getting hit' Fox, Christ." I walked away from the scene to gear up for the fight. Returning to the range, I wrapped my large coat around me and made my way to the armoury. I took the P19 sniper rifle, 8 mag dual barrel berra shotguns and my pistols. Soon I rendezvous with the team in the landing bay. Since the base was dug deep into a mountain cave, taking the arwings would be pointless so we used a simple air transport unit to take the whole team. We had boarded the craft and it took off. Krystal and Sally merrily talked to each other on the way and so did Falco and Fox. I kept to myself, sharpening my blade in preparation for the fight ahead as Sonic Fox flew. We eventually touched down on the planet's surface and we disembarked. I opened the side doors of the cabin to find a lush, green planet outside. Tall trees dominated the skyline with small bushes covering the ground level as the howling of alien birds gave the scene a sort of tune. A heavy mist of marshy land and swamp filled the air thick. A rummaging of the bushes put us all on edge but our fears were allayed when I friendly figure immerged. "Chloe, is that you?" called Fox. "It's me," replied the fox. She was of a medium height with a dusty brown/cream fur coat and golden highlights in her hair. Like the rest of the team, she wore a battle suit with her long, curvaceous tail wrapped around her legs. "You guys got here just in time. I think he's trying to move on; his men have been packing up most of the things in the facility for transport. If we're going to do this then it needs to be done today." "Well here's the man that's going to do it. Chloe, meet Mitch." Fox pulled me from the back of the group to meet the Fox. "Hello," I said in an cold fashion, tired of all the bullshit formalities. "Nice to meet you." I looked her over and discovered a badge on her chest. She was a cop. "Police, huh?" "Yep, joined the force a months ago." "Killed anyone yet?" I asked callously. "Excuse me?" Fox barged in, "A little joke there, right Mitch? Okay Chloe what do we have to work with here." She handed everyone some binoculars and began to speak, "There are two sentries at the entrance manning light machine gun placements. The interior is guarded with patrols down the corridors and pathways. Might Dragon is in the core of the facility but to get there it is a direct route so we can miss a lot of the patrols." "Good let's get started. Nik you can have the sentry on the left, Mitch the one on the right." We nodded to him a split up. Nik took up his position on a nearby canopy ledge. Carefully he removed and assembled his sniper rifle, pulling it out piece by piece and snapping them together. The two guards were perched either side of a plateau that lead directly to the mouth of the cave with a steep hill each side. Nik looked down his sights and took his shot. With the bullet taking down the guard on the left and grabbing the other guards attention, I appeared from the slope side and, with a lightening quick sword slash, finished the job. The team now advanced forward and into the cave. The interior had little lighting and the walls were a mixture of dark brown earth and cold metal. The weakening lights flickered as the footsteps of the team echoed through the rotting corridors. The cries of the lush winds that swept in from out side could be heard crying for escape, dying and suffocated. The corridors became very narrow and light was scattered in random spots. Sonic Fox stopped us and pointed down the corridor. "Stop," he whispered, holding his finger to his mouth. In the silence we heard nothing. All in front of us was dark, jet blackness in which nothing moved. Then we saw it. A small light flickered at the end of corridor. It was the light of a cigarette. "A patrol is coming." The team started to panic; briskly looking for a place to hide. I felt something in the centre of my back. It was a door handle. "Guys, in here." We carefully and quietly snuck into the room and switched on the dim lights. Fox and Falco took position on the door; blasters ready if anything were to happen. "Mitch, you may wanna see this," called Chloe quietly. I joined her over on a table in the corner. Photos of me were strewn across the table. A picture of me in wolf form and normal form. There was even a dossier of feature I should have to look like a human. "Mitch...I didn't know about any of this." Krystal joined me and was horrified by what she saw. "They...they set all this up. They made you into a human." She placed her arms around me to ease my pain and calm my rage. She was too late. I heard the guards outside passing the doorway. I wanted them dead. I picked up a pile of photos and the dossier. Removing my shotgun, I placed two shells through the door, alerting the rest of the guards in the facility. Alarms and siren rung out through the corridors. I didn't care. We exited the room to find three lines of guards approaching. Throwing my sword in the air, I removed my two pistols and dropped the first two lines. Ducking under their fire, I caught the sword and with a quick horizontal swipe, the last line fell. "Where the fuck does he think he's going?" screamed Falco over his fire. "I don't know but it's too hot in here. Fang, Sonic Fox and Chloe, follow Mitch. Me and Falco will get Krystal out of here." Fang, Sonic Fox and Chloe followed in my path of destruction. "HALT OR I'LL FIRE!" cried the guard in front of me. Before he pulled the trigger I pulled away the gun and cracked his neck sending his limp, lifeless body crashing to the ground. Soon the corridor opened into a large room. In the middle was a chair and desk with a large figure sitting in it. "Welcome to my lair," he said with a smile. He coughed and spluttered in a hoarse voice. "You must excuse me, my voice is not what it was. I have been very sickly as of late and I can feel my life ebbing away with each passing second. At least I get to kill you before I die." "A bit hopeful aren't we?" Chloe took aim, "You sick fuck, I should shot you where you stand." # "Chloe, please let's us be reasonable about this." "Reasonable, you slaughtered a entire continent. Among your victims included most of my family." "They were disposable." Chloe had heard enough. With a look of rage on her face, she fired a large fireball from her palms which struck the dragon and threw him against the wall. She walked over to his still body and laughed. He suddenly sprung into life and, with a single punch, sent her across the room and into unconsciousness. "I'm awfully sorry about that, I'm normally ready for those sorts of things." Sonic Fox rushed over to her body. Fang rushed back into the dark corridors to fight the approaching guards. "It's seems like it's you and me Mitch," he said with a smile. He removed his large coat and threw it to the side of the room. I too removed mine and drew my sword. "Prepare yourself for the power of Might Dragon." "Kiss my arse." He charged at me as I slid out the way. The air from the punch was so strong it pushed me off of balance. With a powerful back hand, he caught my back and sent me flying. Catching my breath, I removed the shotgun and placed him with shell after shell, empty cartridges hit the floor rhythmically one after another. As the smoke clear, he looked up with a smile. "You'll never break my hide with that," he chuckled. Grabbing my throat, he slammed me to the ground and held me their. I could barely breath from his vice grip. Grabbing the sword from my open hand, he steadied the point over my heart. "Goodbye Mitch." "Hey scaly!" cried Sonic Fox from the other side of the room, "Is this powerful enough." Concentrating hard, a large screech and blast conjured from his hands and impacted with the large dragon, forcing him to drop the sword. I thrust the point into his chest making him rise and stumble. To get the last part to pierce his chest cavity and kicked the hilt that made him fall back in agony. Wiping myself off and rubbing my sore neck, I got up and stood above my fallen foe. He was coughing up blood and holding the sword. "I shouldn't have expect any less," he whispered. "However, no you cannot escape yourself. You have already lost." I grabbed his throat and slammed the pictures in his face, "What are these about!?!? WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME!?!? WHO AM I!?!?!?" He was far to injured to reply. I pulled the sword from his chest and breathed his final breath. The first member of the Signit commanders was dead. (((This is the first KMA with a new character in not including Fang who has already appeared in the older series. I present Chloe who will make many more apperances and is copyright of FireFox1234. Chloe is from the new series, Tears of a Fox; please go and check it out! Remember to comment.
