The adventures of Stanko and Jebac- chapter 1 the journey begins
#1 of Stanko and Jebac
Hello there dear fans, I just got this old work from a fellow artist Dragon-Dave. He doesnt do internet publishing and this is a collaboration he did a long time ago. He asked me to upload this on my account. I helped create this and my ownership of the characters is shared with him. The trick is dragon-dave is one person made out of two people (the one who gets this gets a cookie). This is a old piece of work and I will upload chapters in longer periods of time, definatly longer then princess and the dragon, but the two are in the same world. As always read, review and enjoy yet another epic adventure!
On the road to the village of Kartfild, there were three figures, these three companions made a very strange appearance indeed and especially in these parts, the first one was Stanko, a older mage, the second one was the young warlock Jeba? and the third one was the demon pet of Jeba?, a succubus named Byora.
At the great mountain Gorluf, there was a ancient castle, where the old mages trained the art of Zargluf. Zargluf was a god of magic and wisdom. One of the mages was called Stanko and he was the oldest of the mages. One day, the mages started using dark magic and the ways of Akrol the darklord. The mages that resisted, were killed by the hands of their brothers. Stanko was also fighting his evil brothers, but he was defeated and he had escaped the castle and the mountain of Gorluf. On his journey, he met Jeba? the warlock and his pet demon Byora. Then the great journey of these three companions began.
Jeba? was a young warlock, he was a boy from a small village on a isle far away, when he first learned of his demonic calling, he set accidentally barns on fire, but after he summoned an imp, the people had enough and banished him. Despite this, he was a nice and kind man, who treated his friends and demons kindly, unlike many of warlocks at that time. He was somewhat taller and had long straight wavy black hair, held by a circlet, he wore a black and orange tunic and he, like his companion, rode a horse, Byora, his Succubus which he summoned not long ago, was walking near them, she was light pink/purple skinned and wore scandalous clothes, she was bare footed, with claws on both her hands and feet and her main weapon was a black demonic whip. After he meet Stanko, the men realized, that despite their different callings, they both had a similar cause and believes and the men became fast friends, now as I said, they were on the road to the village of Kartfild. "We will soon be there." Said Jeba?.
As they were walking to kartfild, the old mage was thinking about his escape and his evil mages. The mountain of Gorluf was full of creatures and animals. One of the most feared creatures were the frost giants. They are really big and they had long beards and lots of hair. They had ice spikes growing on their backs and they had big ice horns. Most of them had some clothes that they crafted themselfs. These frost giants were really dangerous, even for the mages. However, these great beasts lived in harmony with the mages for a long time. They were the mages guardians. They guarded the ancient castle and Gorluf from invaders. But on that day, when evil began to spread among the mages, the leader of giants Ugrol betrayed the mages. Soon after that, the other giants followed their leader. Stanko was very tired, but he needed to find shelter soon. As he was walking, he spotted a big cave, but he has sensed other life forms inside the cave. Unfortunately, Stanko didn't have any other choice, the snowing was starting and it was really cold. As he entered the mysterious cave, he saw many bones and blood on the ground. He could see in the dark with his magic eyes, but he heard strange noises in the cave and that made him very afraid. He lit some of the wood that he found in the cave. Stanko was sitting near the warm fire and thinking about the mages and his life. He didn't had a great childhood, he was a shy child and didn't had a lot of friends and other kids made fun of him. He lived alone with his mother, his father died on the battlefield and he was very poor. But he was being watched by the mages of Gorluf and they saw a talent in him... it turned out, that he was very special. After his mother died, the mages came and they took Stanko to Gorluf, where he learned the art of Zagruf (a form of magic). Now Stanko was feeling really sad, because he was abandoned yet again. He was a good man, but he was betrayed by his friends, just like when he was a boy. As he was thinking about his life, he slowly fell asleep and entered the dream world, where he could rest his sad spirit. However, something had awoken him and it was very close. Stanko was scared, because the darkness was spreading like a plague and it weakened his soul and magic. From the shadows of the cave emerged 2 giant Gorluf bears. Their red eyes spread fear into Stanko's body and soul. They were slowly moving towards Stanko, like true killers. The old mage was paralyzed by the giant bears and he started to shake in fear. Suddenly, the first bear hit Stanko with his giant paws. The old mage fell on the ground, like a apple from a old tree. Stanko was really bad injured, but he was still strong enough to use his magic. Then, both bears attacked Stanko and then he used his fire armor spell to save himself from the bears. But these bloodthirsty beasts didn't stop. Stanko had enough time to get up and fight back. The bears attacked again and Stanko shot multiple fire balls at the bears. The first bear died and the other escaped. Then, Stanko almost instantly fell asleep, like nothing had happened and he entered the dream world again.
At the same time, Jeba? was thinking of how the two met, he was just evicted from his birth village of Pizdi?i and he was travelling with his imp minion alongside him. „Stupid Pizdi?i." He thought. „They just can't stand that I'm different, they are just jealous, thats all, I'll show them." He was really angry, but in truth, deep down inside he was sad, he was sad for losing all the things he had. Namely his friends and family. He remembered, how at the age of 6 his hands started radiating dark fire, he excitedly went to his mother and said: „Mommy mommy, look what I can do!" Of course, the poor woman screamed, they tried everything, but the fire wouldnt go out, the fire hurt everyone who tried to touch it, but it didnt hurt Jeba? at all, luckily, the next day the fire died out. His family tried to keep this a secret, but they couldn't keep his 'talent' under control. When he went outside and played with other kids, or when he worked in the field, he would cause trouble by setting things on fire and one time, he damned a squirrel to hell and damned the poor creatures soul. The 'accidental' summoning of a imp was the last straw, he had loved his family, he really did, but they kicked him out. They were just too simple and too afraid to cope with this. Jeba? was not allowed contact with the mages, for his parents were afraid of what they would do, if they found out of his demonic affection. Somehow, he managed to find a book on warlocks in the attic on his family farm and he made a patchwork summoning ritual, he did the ritual poorly, but he was soo talented and so powerful that he followed it thru. And thus, a imp servant was created, he didnt understad anything the thing said, as he didnt speak demonic, but the thing seemed to understand him and followed his orders. Somehow, he managed to convice the captain of some ship to let him and his pet on board, the crewmen were scared of the imp, but the little demon dared not to disobey his masters orders and so he didn't harm anyone.
The warlock and his minion set ashore to some port in the northern continent of Zima and then he stayed in the port of Hladno for a few days with his minion. Then, one day he awoke, he sensed a presence, he felt it was very far away, but he took his imp, who followed his master and he stood by his masters side the whole time, they traveled for hours, all the while, the sense of the demonic presence was getting stronger. Finally, at dusk, the two reached a forest and could hear someone moaning. Jeba? entered without fear, he didn't bother to check out the nearby village, as he felt that he needed urgently to come to this place. As soon as he entered the forest, he saw a injured demon, a very beautiful and very powerful succubus.
Jeba? grinned in rememberence of their first meeting and went back into his flashback.
„It's here, I can hear it." He called out to his imp, who followed suit.
„ESHANA DE BALADRE MASTERA!" He heard a woman yelling, obviously in anguish.
And as he entered the clearing, there he saw her, looking beautiful in all her grace, a succubus, a being he could only dream of and as far as he knew, he was the only one in his village, who knew what the thing was and he himself didn't know how he knew that.
She was simply gorgeous, no book or description of her would do her justice, to describe her beauty, so I won't even try. She was pink skinned and her hair looked like purple fire, which was burning backwards from her head, she had a normal slender human face, which could easily take on that of the most beautiful women Jeba? had known, her teeth were perfect and every single inch of her face as well. In fact, the only non human parts of her face were her dark eyes, that had sometimes a pink/purple and somethimes yellow diamond shaped iris and iside of them black diamond shaped pupils and the other non human feature was her horns, which seemed to grow from her temple and the sides of her forehead, with a thick basis, but they thinned as they got longer and longer, her eyebrows were nearly merged with her horns. As for her body, clawed hands and feet were also part of her non humanly edition, as well as her elegant tail, which ran as an extension from the lowest part of her spine and was a little longer than her feet, it was spiked, or better yet tipped at the end, as it was sharp, but it didn't have any extra spikes and it was purple. Trust me, when I say that I've tried my best to describe her, but she needed only to look at you, to take your soul away, she had a what you can call a scandalous dress, each of her limbs was covered in white dressing seperately, with her dress barely covering and concealing the lower part of her torso, her belly was visible and she had also a white top, which was barely covering her breasts and connecting her sleaves, her entire belly was revealed.
Jeba? instantly saw what the problem was, she was stuck in a bear trap and her leg was covered with her dark blood, he rushed over to help her instantly.
The succubus was surprised at this, she never expected a human to help her. She asked this: „Why do you do this, mortal?"
„You are in pain and I have to help you." He kneeled down in front of her and examined the trap.
„Such naive fool, aren't you afraid, mortal?" She eyed him and he looked at her and nearlly became lost in her eyes.
„You are right, I suppose." He stepped back, opened the book and murmured a few incantations, she widened her eyes in surprise, before a bright dark light radiated from the man.
„BYORA TI GLUPACO!" (Byora you fool!) She called out loud at herself, she could have seduced him easily, but she was exhausted and was stuck in this horrid trap all day long, he made a weak binding spell, which made her realise that he was a novice warlock, but his inner magic was strong.
„Hold still, this might hurt a little." Jeba? told her as he loosened the trap and she squeezed out without a word, her wounds quickly fading and healing completely.
„So, what now, mortal?" She asked him, as she stood up.
„I dont know, you are free to go if you want." He told her.
„What?!" She blinked, not believing. „Just... just like that?"
„Yes, I just made sure you won't attack me, you can go anywhere now, if you wish." He told her. „However, if you wish, you can come and have adventures with me, I am still learning to be a warlock and could use some help." He told her casually.
„WHAT?!" She was looking at him in disbelief. „Are you stupid or something? Don't you know WHAT I am?"
„Yes, a succubus, a powerful one at that, I could sense you all the way to the coast." He told her.
„And if you know that I'm a demon, then you should know that I'm evil and that I want to devour your soul." She told him, as she crossed her arms.
„I know that, but I doubt you would hurt me, I made a spell, which is shielding myself from you and I think you could have fun if you joined me on my travels, you could tutor me on demons and I could take you to the vast reaches of the world." He told her, as he eyed her. „After all, I can see you are tempted."
„That is true, however, I don't believe you would just take this all so casually, what's the catch?"
„There is none, I don't know much about demons, so I take all my new experiences in moderation, I wish to learn more, you could help me with that, I need a mentor and if you are as powerful as you say you are, then maybe you can help me. And I can help you in return, it's safer to travel together and I can take you across the world." And so it was, that in the end, Jeba? persuaded her to join him, the next two years they spend roaming the world, She taught him demonic, as all warlocks knew the language and he took her all over the world. She used her powers of transformation to shapeshift, so she could blend in with the population of the town they visited. They learned much about each other, it turned out that Byora was 241 years old when he meet her and yes, as she said, she had no moral sense, but Jeba? tried and even convinced her not to do evil things, like killing and torturing innocent people, so despite their differences, they grew on one another and genuinely, they cared for each other. Eventually they fell in love with each other and surprisingly she actually and genuinely loved him back, she had every chance to devour his soul the first time they had sex, but she decided not to, suffice to say, the two had a good influence on one another, he made her a better person and she made him... well, a pervert living out his dreams.
One day, they were walking in a low populated forest and they talked.
„You know, I wonder, why didn't I sense such a powerful warlock approaching me that day we met?" She asked him.
„Well, it could be a very wide array of reasons, maybe you were exhausted, maybe I wasn't such a good warlock back then, or maybe it was this hex put on my family, preventing us from radiating a detectable magic aura, I wonder... wait, what is that?" He pointed to a cave, where a awful stench of died meat was coming out. They went in and found a badly wounded old man in a wizards robes, holding onto a bag and a staff. They took him back home and nursed him back to his health. Three days after that, he woke up.
„Where am I?" He asked, seeing a unfamiliar sorounding. „What has happened?"
„Relax, old man, you are safe." Jeba? explained to him, what had happened.
„Where are my books and my staff?" The old man demanded.
„Relax, I have it right here." Jeba? gave him the long staff, which had a ball on the top.
The old man took it quickly from his arms. „Don't you know what this is? You have to be careful around it!" He told him.
„No, what is that?" Jeba? asked.
„This is one of the long lost replicas of the staff of Lažni Kurac, the original staff is lost. Don't you know the story?" He asked, curiously as he sensed that the young man was talented magically.
"Um.. no." Jeba? said, which surprised the old man, who then told him of how the three heros Mrkva, Krastavac and Ananab were fighing the evil doctor D, who was supposed to be fighting the evil holes, that invaded the vilages of the three heroes , but doctor D got tired of fighting the holes and turned at them, so the three villages sent their heros and the good god Karanje gave them the staff of Lažni Kurac, so they could combat the holes, Jeba? listened with great care.
„And the books in the bag, are all that I managed to save from my evil brothers." The old man said and explained why he ended up where he did.
„I'm sorry to hear that, but can you please tell me your name?" Jeba? said, which surprised the old man.
„Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself, I am Stanko the grand mage of Zagruf." He said, still not standing up from the bed. Then Jeba? explained about his life, how he found out his talent and met Byora, the old mage didn't like warlocks or demons, but he saw that this man was good and if indeed, he and his demon saved him, he should at least be polite to them.
„Oh and I almost forgot, I'm Jeba?." Jeba? said. „Now let me introduce the succubus Byora." She walked into the room. As said, the mage didn't like demons, but the two kept it civilised. When he recovered, Stanko decided to travel with the two. And so, after a year of traveling, here they were, the three became really close friends.

Finally, they arrived to Kartfild and the old mage was very tired (he was 114 years old so you cant blame him), but Jeba? was much younger and stronger, just like his Demon, Byora. At first, the village was very beautiful (it was a small village deep in the Kalruk forest and nature was everywhere), there were many animals that Stanko has never seen in his life, with all those books he read, he was shocked how beautiful this place was. It was like a dream (after a long day of work and he couldn't wait to go to sleep), but still, Stanko's heart was filled with sadness and anger from his memories. Even the demon Byora was surprised, how beautiful this place was (that was very unusual in demon nature, they despised all that is good and beautiful, but she was different).
As they were going deeper in the village, they started to see the dark side of this fantastic place. Many of the villagers were dead and piled up on top of each other and many others were bleeding, with bandages over their wounds. Stanko approached one of the injured villagers and asked him what happened here, who would do this. The villager barely spoke, because he was too injured, but he was able to say his final words: "It was them... the dark rise bandits... they did it!" And the villager slowly closed his eyes and stopped breathing.
"We must help these poor people." Stanko stated, full of spite, this was the last thing they needed. This entire scene reminded him of the downfall of his breathren.
"Of course." Responded Jeba?.
They decided to use their magic and alchemy to make healing potions. Stanko didn't know that much about alchemy, but he remembered something about it, from when he read the books. Then he said to himself: "Being old isn't easy, you forget things, you're always tired..." He tried to dismiss his thoughts and focuse on the brewing of the potions. They needed to make this right, so they were making potions for almost 3 hours, when they were finally done.
After a long day of healing the villagers, they did it, but sadly not all the people made it. When they continued walking through the village, they were stopped by 5 guards and a mysterious man, who had a brown hoodie and long mage like clothes.
"We thank you for your help, brave travelers, my name is Engrif and I'm the chieftain of Kartfild." The stranger said.
"What happened here?" Stanko and Jeba? asked.
"It were those cursed bandits from the Kalruk forest, they have been attacking us for years!"
"Maybe we can help you with these bandits." Stanko offered.
"That would be so generous from you, fellow travelers! But please tell me your names." Engrif said, leaning on his huge walking stick.
"Oh, how rude of me, my name is Stanko im the grand mage of Zargluf. And my name is Jeba? the warlock and this is Tyria." Stanko pointed to the two, who nodded their heads. (he was referring to Byora, but she was in disguise, imagine what would happen if they saw her in her true form...)
"You are welcome to stay in our village for as long as you want." The kind old man offered.
„Thank you Engrif." The company responded.
Now that they had found a house to stay in Kartfild (which was easy, considering that a lot of houses were empty, since a lot of people died), they could plan their next steps. Night soon fell and it made the forest even more beautiful, Stanko was staring at the clear sky for hours, thinking and relaxing his soul. Then, a strange person approched Stanko, he couldn't see who it was in the dark. It was an elf. (It was a forest elf from the forest Ongu, an old forest and very far away froom kartfild.)
"Hello, my name is Toruk, I saw you staring at the night sky quite a long time, is everything alright?" The elf asked.
"Of course, I was just watching the sky, a mysterious ocean of air, and this place is more powerful than my magic, it's a shame what those bandits did." Stanko replied.
"Yes, that was a tragedy." The elf confirmed, looking up to the sky as well. „And that's why I'm here to ask you, will you go with me and my companions, to find and hunt down these savages?" The elf offered.
"It would be my honor, Toruk!!" Then, Stanko woke up Jeba? and Byora and told them about their mission. Now, these brave companions started resting for their unknown quest in the morrning.
The morning came quick, with the first rays of light illuminating the Kalruk forest, which streched far into the distance of the uncharted lands that lay westward. In front of the village gate, was a small dirt path leading to it, the wooden gate and the wooden and cobblestone wall were in ill repair, it turned out, that while the village had the adequade defences and weapons to resist the attack, they lacked the manpower. The village was mostly composed of poor people, which had nowhere else to go and you could hardly see a man between the ages of 20 and 50.
There is a background story for all of this, in the book called the fall of the kingdom of Wealth. It was a book, written by a man who lived in the period that the kingdom of Zlato fell, zlato meant wealth or gold, in the native language of the people and Kartfild was a bastion of its glory, it was the peak of the kingdoms desire to expand westward and hence the look of the village. But after the kingdom fell to its internal strife, the village fell with it and most young people left. I really have to bring you that book one day, young ones.
The Kalruk forest looked more gloomier than ever, its sunny golden touch of nature and magic in symbiosis still stood strong, but a dark force had a grip on it. The trees didn't hum their natural tone and the strange sounds and sights of the forest began to feel maliciouse compared to their past.
The three original companions slept in an abandoned house, outside of the wall. It was abandoned when the original owner died of sickness and it wasn't claimed ever since. Toruk on the other hand, slept in the treehouse he had for himself, the villagers were not used to other races, or even visitors in a long time, it was just a quite little village, where everything goes on and nothing changes, until the bandits came.
They were lead by the great and mighty Razorus the purpleheaded. His face was long and his skin looked like it was too big for his facial bones, so his face dragged down towards the floor, he wielded an axe in each hand and his entire face was covered in strange purple tatoo's and the rest of his body was in armor. It was no official armor he wore, it was a mixture of everything, leather, plate, mail.... the most striking pice of gear was his helmet, which was made from hardened leather and reinforced with steel and had two antler horns, coming from its front part.
Anyway, our heros got up, awokened by the sound of Toruk's flute playing the magicly relaxing tunes, it didn't help them getting out of bed, thats for sure, but the three managed to get up at their feet and get dressed, it took Stanko longer, since he was old, while Byora did it quickly, after all, as a succubus she wasnt wearing much.
The four walked down the quiet street, smelling the smell of the nature walking towards the only disturber of the peace, the sound of a hammer hitting steel.
They arrived at the blacksmith and the bald blacksmith with medium long moustaches from his nose to his mouth, he was covered in black ash and his big and strong structure made the mans profession obvious.
„Hello, I am Griffe the blacksmith, how can I help you?" The man said, putting his hammer down, taking off his gloves. (The only clothing he had on his upper body.)
Jeba? lead them here, while the others did not know why, just that it was on their way to the village elder Engrif's house.
"Hello, I'm Jeba? and I was wondering, what is the status of the arms and armor of the village?" Jeba? asked calmly.
Griffe rose his black eyebrow, but answered anyway. „A little rusty, but nothing that can't be fixed, why do you ask?"
„Get them in working order by noon please, I'll pay with gold. We need them to outfit an expedition to Kalruk.
The blacksmith chuckled, but he saw the look in Jeba?'s eye. „You are serious, aren't you? Very well, I'll see what I can do." With that, Griffe went to the already pillaged armory, which had spiderwebs inside and a lot of dust.
„Just, how do you plan to persuade Engrif to allow this expedition?" Toruk asked.
Jeba? smiled and looked at Byora. „I have quite a few ideas, with her help, I'm sure we can do it." He said.
