I've watched the animals at play, They have their love on full display, Compassion before simple needs, With lover critter spends the day.

To frolic free of narrowed eyes, Not troubled by the whos and whys, The animals have got it right, They live on constant happy highs.

Poor human love can not compete, Compared to them it's incomplete, In this man must accept defeat, For though he tries he can not beat Unbridled love the critters meet. Let man arise from gilded seat And pass the throne to fang and fur, From royalty man must retreat.

Amphibian and woman's heart Have touched, but that's the story part, As frog a prince, a pauper man, His love is better at the start.

Should she become aquatic mate, Would make a more rewarding fate, For lover stuck in human state, Can't shed that unbecoming trait. Transform and welcome warty slate, Abandon human path of hate, The animals know only love, An attribute that's made them great.

So you and I, like dogs in pack, Will make up for that which we lack By watching one another's back And covering the other's track. As canines we possess the knack Of picking up the weak one's slack, Together running at our goal Evading issues white and black.

Like birds in flock that fills the sky, From lover's arms we shall not shy, With beaks in reach and wings nearby, Through open air our hearts will fly. I'll answer call of lover's cry With feathers reaching ever high And in return you'll hear the sound Of lover's earnest soft reply.

All

For These Things I Cry

For these things I make myself cry: Water falls from my eyes, Since a comforter for my soul, Distanced himself from me, And my children were all scattered When the rivals conquered. In exile I have stood long, Enduring taunts and jeers, As...

Afterimage

Yes, I remember vivid moments now, We talked and drank into the misty dawn, I even hear the voices as we ran By water's side on wettest summer lawn. I see the footprints as I remember. I feel the way you were, the way you would, And tried to...
