Several hours had past by the time I finally came to and looked around. Unfortunately my restraints and the blindfold hindered my ability to study my surroundings. Naturally the first thing I tried was to break free from my metallic restraints. Sadly the after effects of the tranquilizers were still coursing through my system. I was only able to move the heavy chains slightly then I passed out again.

As I came to the second time there was somebody sitting in the room with me. Groaning a bit before asking where the heck I was, only to receive a tazer to the ribs. Openly cursing the bastard for that just to receive the same response for a bit longer. "Silence, beast you're going to answer my questions or else." The man ordered. For now I decided to play his game and waited for a chance to strike back.

"Now, what exactly were you experimenting on that caused this change?" He asked. I told him the flat out truth about my drastic transformation which he didn't buy. "Do you honestly expect me to believe such a bullshit story, now tell me the truth." He demanded. Rolling my eyes underneath the blindfold I merely repeated the same thing. This time around he decided to hear how it all began so I shared.

"The bio reconstruction tank I designed and built wasn't ready for a live human subject. Until one of my assistants she was mixing some unstable chemicals into a special container. Unfortunately the mixture exploded like a grenade, luckily she wasn't injured. Sadly I wasn't as lucky, in the end the tanks maiden voyage was with me as the subject. After two days when I woke up and exited the tank this was the end result." I informed.

"What were you using as test subjects before your incident?" He wondered curiously. I explained that I had made deals with several veterinary and local hospitals. They would send me amputated limbs and rejected organs to start with. Though I simply refused to use anything alive and in perfect health then deal with guilt later. "Well, I guess you violated that little rule didn't you." He replied smugly.

"Just to let you know I may respond better if you ditch the damn restraints." I said. Of course he wasn't about to take chance to have me tear him to shreds. "Seriously do you honestly think I'm nothing but, a mindless beast? The only beast in this room is the guy holding the damn zap toy at the moment." I growled. As he went to taze me again, I tensed up the muscles in my body and when it made contact.

The tazer crumbled into pieces upon impact so he punched me in the jaw in anger. Sadly the sounds of breaking bones filled the room followed by him howling in pain. He shouted at me complaining that my jaw felt like a three inch thick solid steel plate. From there he commanded that I quit playing around and tell him the cold hard truth. "I'd love to tell you but, since you won't release me you're out of luck pal." I replied.

He stormed out of the room slamming the door and started yelling at a woman in the hall. After few minutes of loud discussion he re-entered my cell then sat back down. This time around I heard another set of footsteps approach me inside the room. Soon the smell of roses with the hint of ginger and honey entered my sensitive nose. It was a nice change of pace considering the jerk's bad choice in aftershave.

"It's certainly been a while, Devin you're looking well all things considered." The woman said. I recognized her tone of voice almost instantly and ask her a bunch of questions. Mostly about what happened at the lab and with everyone that worked there. "Devin the lab has been shut down four months now, you've been here since then. Dammit, father why did you keep him sedated for that long?" She questioned.

"You'd be wise to call me by title of Admiral, young lady do you understand." He pointed out. Naturally I was quick to question the Admiral about that very notion. "The man she refers to as her father threw all he had away for his career. Besides the man she also calls, Devin is also dead and all that's left is you; Project Zero. If you really value her safety mind your tongue from here on out beast." He remarked.

Snarling angrily at him but, sadly I wasn't in any sort of position to back it up. Bowing my head to him I asked him what he really wanted from me in the first place. "Surely, you're probably aware of the Nano-battle armor that was finished before your incident." He said. Nodding my head yes though I was also aware that it had several reported failures. That resulted in the death of the operator when it was used at full power.

"Though correct me if I'm not mistaken you used your position to cover it all up. Including silencing those who would put a stop your little war project." I stated openly. "My, aren't you well studied but, you're correct I did use my influence to cover it up. I was going to shut your little department down until your fortunate accident occurred." He stated. Sierra went to voice her opinion when I calmly told her to keep quiet for a moment.

"That's begs me to ask just what exactly do you want from me, Admiral? Now I'm sure it can't be to fix or even to reprogram the armor correct?" I asked. He said no then told me that I wasn't going to become its next test subject or victim. Though before I could proceed he needed a solid blood sample from me to enter into the database. This way the suit doesn't fry me the second the entire device is powered up.

Naturally before I could refuse Sierra stated, that he'd kill anyone that doesn't agree. "Very well, Admiral I'll agree to help you on a few conditions if that's not too much to ask." I said. He asked me what I wanted in a rather cocky and annoyed tone of voice. "Release me and allow me to see my friend for at least for twenty minutes alone. I don't think that's too much for the likes of you to handle?" I asked.

He didn't say anything as he walked over, removed my blindfold, and unlocked my leg restraints. Next he removed the waist belt, my arm shackles, the neck collar, and finally he left. Once the door closed I stretched out my stiff muscles as I did a couple of bones popped. I didn't mind the sensation it was rather welcomed given my previous situation. As I walked around for a bit to get the blood flowing then sat down besides, Sierra.

"Relax, I'm not going to hurt you, I wouldn't dream of it." I reassured as she moved away a bit. She asked me if I wanted to know about everything that I've missed the past four months. "No, that won't do me any good so, have you uncovered anything new?" I asked. She gave me a wiry smile then told me that she actually replicated my transformation. Though she actually underwent the procedure herself before her father arrived.

"Let me guess you created an enzyme that would allow you to keep your human form. This enzyme would also let you switch between the two forms at will after some practice. Odd ball question do you happen to have my flash drive on you? It contains all my data from when I started in college to the day before my accident." I said. She nodded then turned away from me for a moment to fish around inside her purse.

"Yes, its right here Devin and by the way I couldn't access any of the data on it. Though I wasn't expecting the damn thing would be protected by one mean security program. Granted I was able to upload my data then it kicked me out after it finished. My question to you is what program or programs did you use to protect this thing from outsiders?" She replied while handing the small portable flash drive over to me.

"That's for me to know so why don't you show me what you've become." I said changing the topic. With a broad smile she told me to sit back and watch with envy while she demonstrated. Her body mass slowly increased in size then a spotted pattern appeared. A long flowing feline tail sprouted out from under her knee length skirt. The minute her transformation was complete I was certainly blown away.

"Huh, a Clouded Leopard it suits you quite well it must have been inside your genomes." I replied taking a good look. She quickly changed back on the off chance the Admiral came back. "So what do you think of the new me and be honest?" She asked. Giving her a sweet compliment I told her to get the blood samples before we went any further. She pulled out a syringe then injected into my arm and discovered something.

According to Sierra the robocells may have remained in my blood stream. Though she wasn't positive and decided to take two vials of blood one for the admiral. After she filled two good size vials she took one and stored it in a special box. While the other she pulled out a nine volt battery and a large stainless steel nail from her purse. The electro magnet would fry and gather all the robo-cells in the vial.

This way the Admiral or any of his lackeys wouldn't stumble across them later on. Sadly before we could carry on with our conversation my ears perked up at the sound of footsteps. Sure enough about five minutes later the door opened and the Admiral entered the room. "Well, did you get what I asked for?" He asked flatly. Sierra nodded then calmly handed him the altered vial of blood to her father.

"Now, Zero do I get your full cooperation now or not?" He wondered glaring at me. The blank stare I gave him in return told him I was a man of my word unlike him. With that he had me follow him so I could put on the desired clothes during my stay. Though it was the comment that followed that really pushed my patience a great deal. All he said was I'd be here until my usefulness has run it's course or I died.

As we walked I kept a steady ten pace distance from him just in case he tried anything. "Explain something to me, Admiral why am I so important to you? There's something about this weapon's project of yours that doesn't smell right." I stated. He was shocked at my perception and said there was nothing underhanded about this. Though he said if didn't want to help with the weapon, I'd be killed then dissected instead.

In which case his top level scientists would scan and study every detail of my being. In his mind whether I helped willingly or not I'd be working for him no matter what. Of course my first instinct was to wrap my fangs around his scrawny little neck. Seeing as he was no regular human I'd have to bide my time and wait for a better chance to strike. "If I do everything you ask of me will you free me when I'm of no use?" I asked.

He stopped for a moment then turned around to look in me right in the eyes. "Very well I agree to release you once my project is fully complete any more stipulations?" He wondered in return. I simply told him that I wanted all of this in a legal contract so that neither of us can back out of. "If that will gain your total cooperation than so be it." He remarked. The tone of his voice told me things would soon get very interesting.

To be continued.

Section 6
