My name is Kaveis and this sunset marks the 150th anniversary of my existence. That's not to say I am that old, nor am I young. So long has passed since I opened my eyes and took my first breath, but I remember being exactly as I am now and watching the sun rise. How old was I then? Had I just begun my existence? Had I already been, but simply forgot? Have I done this before? I do remember the only thing I had was a note with a single word which I assumed was my name... But why did I assume that?

One hundred fifty years have passed since then and I have watched my friends get swept away by time while I have been untouched and unchanged. People that I once knew as toddlers crying for attention are now set in the ground. Their children's children are starting lives of their own.

The figure of a young man stood out noticeably in the field of bright red grass. His blue cloak and shining silver ear piercings were easily noticeable against the backdrop of a setting sun. Upon closer inspection he'd seem quite the average twenty-five year old specimen with short black hair. He stood at five foot six and was in decent shape, though nothing spectacular. His eyes spoke a different story though; The right was a deep and stunning blue but his left was blue in the inner iris, and green on the outer edge.

Kaveis looked down at the note he held which had one world written fancily on it - Kaveis. He was sure to attach it to his chest before glancing back to the burning horizon and sighing as the last bit of light slipped away. With his preparations made it was time for him to try.

"It's time... I hope." With that he swallowed a pill and laid back in the grass. The effects only took minutes; His eyelids felt heavy and pained, so he closed them. It felt like going to sleep for the first time in your life. He could feel his breaths becoming weaker and labored, but it did not hurt. With one more heavy sigh his chest did not rise again and his body went limp.

It was cold and damp outside; The light of morning peaked over the horizon of lush green grass sprinkled with many flowers and morning dew. In the midst of this field a young man appeared to be sleeping under his brown cloak, his chest gently rising and falling with steady, sleeping breaths. A small piece of paper was pinned to his chest, and although it was damp a single word could easily be made out on it.

Eyes of unusual color slowly opened, breaking the eye crust that had formed in the night. He began to stir and broke the morning silence while rubbing his eyes with a quiet groan. Before long he was sitting and watching as the curve of the sun broke over the horizon and lit of the sky. Such a sight was the only thing worthy of signaling a new day.
