I had known something was up, from the moment I had found Kiki staring at me... my focus stayed on Eric for a few more fleeting moments, before raising my head and smiling, but then there was a knock on the door. I answered it to find Tristan. "Oh I'm sorry... wrong house..." he said. "No you got the right house... your just lacking in the time department" I told him in a slightly annoyed tone. "Oh! ...I didn't recognize you without your fur...Pup!" He said putting a lot of emphasis on the last word. I growled lightly, and he heard... "You know Your just proving my point... only a pup would make such a foolish mistake as growling in human form..." My growling ceased. He was right... for once. "Oh Tristan, come on in. We were just celebrating Alex's Birthday." Samantha Said. Great... I rolled my eyes as I walked into the living room and sat down on the Love-seat. Kiki got up and moved to sit beside me, as Samantha and Joey went into the kitchen to get the cake. Kiki moved slightly and placed her head on my lap, I stroked her ears lightly as both our tails waged happily. "Ah-em" Both Kiki and I looked up to find everyone looking at us, Samantha holding a round cake with 17 candles on top... I felt a light warmth move across my face... just what I always wanted: embarrassment. "moving on" Joey stated and Samantha set the cake on the living room table were I blew out the candles. When I got my portion of the cake I gulped it down... I fought the urge to gag, The cakes icing was like sugar on steroids. After that there was presents. Joy... I got a Camera from Joey and Samantha, and a Chew toy from Eric. "Thanks guys" I said happily <um Alex can I talk to you.> Kiki asked "Sure" I replied. <...Alone> she said "Okay" I whispered back. We stood and headed upstairs. When we got to the guest bedroom, she said. <wait here> Kiki entered the room and a few minutes later she came out with a small box in her jaws, which she tossed towards me. I opened it to find a necklace with a small pendant shaped like a crescent moon. "Oh...Than--" I started but was interrupted by two small banging sounds that reminded me of when an air powered nail gun goes off. I ran downstairs to the living room were Eric and Tristan lay on the ground, while Joey and Samantha stared in horror at a man Holding a gleaming silver object. A small growl left both Kiki and my lips causing the man to turn quickly. The object issued two more of the bangs and I felt a slight sting. I looked down to see a small dart sticking through my shirt and then I felt my body go limp.
