Chapter 3: Temptations & Lust
Leomon studied Robbie's unconcious form, and he appeared to be breathing regularly for one deep asleep. He carefully stayed at the wall opposite him, as to not feel tempted to do anything but watch. He felt confused on his feelings regarding this person -- desire, mingled with possessiveness, along with a strong instinct to protect. He knew that Digimon were asexual, but there were rare cases where some Digimon were able to assume genders, like he did. Most digimon tended to assume feminine or masculine qualities in their personality.
Ordinarily, he had no problem reining his desires for others like him, but Robbie made his nose twitch everytime he caught a whiff. His paw dropped down by his crotch, then he absent-mindedly rubbed his balls that were snugly fit into his trousers. He almost moaned through clenched teeth once he felt his balls swell, and enlarging member crept upward to tent his pants even further through his sheath.
Leomon looked down, suddenly shocked and dismayed that his trousers were tenting rather high, and it was starting to get painful. There was also an enlarging and darkening wet spot seeping through at the topmost of the tent. He gritted his teeth together, trying to visualize calming thoughts, while squeezing his eyes tight. He finally relaxed after fifteen minutes, as his member finally shrank, and subsided into his sheath completely. His balls were still swollen from desire, but he knew it'd pass if he went to sleep. He exhaled sharply, and hoped Robbie hadn't seen or heard anything.
Leomon's eyes darted over to him again, who seemed to have not moved an inch since he had been put there. He snuck a peek out toward the cave entrance, and frowned. Night was rapidly approaching. From what he knew, it could get a bit chilly. He was torn between staying guard for Robbie, and going out to collect firewood. Reason won -- he'd collect firewood near the entrance, even if he had to knock a couple down, and drag them back, as long as he took care to keep an eye on the entrance.
It didn't take him long to find a stash of dead wood by picking up most of the twigs and larger branches in the immediate vinicity. He gathered it all up, tying it into a bundle, for easier carrying with a leather strap he tore off his pants. His smile broadened as he sniffed another type of fruit tree very nearby, and proceeded to gather a small bounty to bring back as well. He'd gathered enough to carry at least one armful of fruits in the hope that Robbie would enjoy them as well. This particular fruit you did have to roast for a short while before it achieved its full flavor, which tasted like freshly roasted meat. It differed from the other fruit by being slightly more yellowish, not white.
Weaving his way back to the cavern, his eyes, ears, and nose were alert for any intruders or anything amiss, but he found nothing out of the ordinary. Leomon walked into the cave, setting the stick bundle down near where he intended to start a fire. He judged it was a good spot, since there was a draft of cool air coming from above the campsite that should draw the smoke away. They probably would have to stay here during the night.
He leaned down, tugging the bag of fruit open, and filled the bag up with his load of fruit, then tied it off. No sense in leaving fruit lying about. He bent toward the task of preparing a campfire, realizing that Robbie might sleep throughout the night. A moment's thought spurred him into wondering whether he should try to physically wake him, or let him be. On one hand, he thought Robbie might do well with some food inside him, since all he had to eat were two fruit bulbs. Hardly enough to keep him sustained, plus Robbie had been exerting himself rather hard digging out the rockfall.
He decided he'd wake him after he got the fire started, if Robbie hadn't done so by then. Bending himself to the task of starting a small fire, he heard a slight scuffle, and looked toward the noise. The fire flared into a small flame, and grew stronger as he fed sticks of wood to it. He smiled shortly, not showing his teeth at Robbie. "How do you feel?"
Robbie groaned as he sat up, with his head spinning slightly. His dizziness was fading away quickly though. The first thing he noticed was that he was ravenous, that he could eat a horse. "Umm. Okay. I guess. What...happened? I'm starving!"
Leomon chuckled under his breath. "There's fruit bulbs in the bag near you. The different colored ones are ones I found just now. They need to be roasted for several minutes before developing their full flavor. I thought you might want something different to try." He motioned with a stick where the bag was.
Robbie nodded quietly, and untied the bag, and peered inside. Yes, there were two different fruits in it, and he drew the same one he had recognized from earlier today, and ate it rather fast. His stomach growled for more, but he sighed. He didn't know how long these provisions would last, so he decided not to eat any more for now. Perhaps he'd wait to try the other one.
He spoke shortly. "Thanks."
Leomon was satisfied with the fire, and let things be, settling down on his rump, opposite Robbie. He closed his eyes for a moment, and then spoke over the fire, "...I just saw a purple light become very bright into white, and then I couldn't look at you, for a white aura had covered you so I could not see you. What did you see?"
Robbie glanced away, "I... I don't remember much. I just remember a voice asking if I held the Hope of the Digital World. If so, I would be granted the power." He looked up and gazed at Leomon with confusion. "I said I wanted to help. Then the voice said 'You have the Power'. I don't remember anything after that."
Leomon's blue eyes opened and glanced at his partner, and he smiled. "I don't know. All you said, at least to me, was 'I have the power to help'." He was privately certain that Robbie wouldn't have wanted to know that he had passed out into his chest.
Robbie dug out his digivice and gasped in awe. In the display, a small miniature digiegg glowed. "The digivice has the digiegg in there!" Once he hit the left button, a small glowing cone of light shot out above the display, and showed a transparent image of the digiegg that they had just found. A disembodied voice echoed inside their heads -- it had a feeling of pride in its words. "You have the power to help save the digital world. But do not let it go to your heads. There is much to do and much to see. Tree Kingdom to your south needs your help. The plant digimon there have all been taken under control other than one or two who have managed to hide. You will know who they are when they do not wear a gem affixed to their heads."
The digivice glimmered brightly and the cone of light vanished from the display, still showing the digiegg in its window. Robbie suddenly realized the voice was no longer inside his head at that point, and he stared at Leomon. Robbie's feelings ran a bit tumult, mingled with nervousness was being petrified, along with a bit of anticipation thrown in as he was looking forward to the adventure.
He scrunched his legs up close to himself, and wrapped his arms around his knees, staring at the fire. Robbie felt lost. Even though he had supposedly had a 'purpose' to being here, he wasn't so sure what it entailed, yet.
Leomon decided now would be a good time to prepare a meal. He stood up, and dug out a few meat bulbs, and sat nearer to Robbie. He took one medium length and width sized stick and stuck two of the meat bulbs one by one on it, and held it over the fire.
He knew this was taking a small risk, sitting rather close to his partner, but he didn't care, really. He had come to the decision that it would ultimately be up to Robbie to make the first move. He found himself getting used to Robbie's natural scent, and was mildly surprised he hadn't wanted to submit to his urges so readily. Perhaps it was just acclimatizing to Robbie that was all he needed to do, or maybe it just meant Robbie was just not in a mood to feel desire or lust at the moment. Leomon wasn't certain yet.
Robbie barely registered Leomon's movements and only shook himself out of his slight stupor when the meat bulbs started awakening his appetite again. He jerked in surprise when he noticed that Leomon was sitting within touching range to him, then looked at the roasted bulbs. "Those are the other fruit you picked?", was his hazarded guess, although he probably shouldn't have had to ask. His mind was just slightly befuddled by the long day today.
Leomon nodded silently, and took the stick with the attached fruit off the fire, to let cool slightly before plucking them off. He held an open paw out to Robbie, who gingerly touched a fruit once, then took it when he found it not too hot to hold.
Robbie smiled briefly. "Thanks." He had his hand on the second fruit in Leomon's paw, but felt strangely reluctant to pull away. His eyes met Leomon's in a brief jolt of emotion that they both shared as one. The mood was broken when Robbie hurriedly looked away pulling the fruit with him. He started nibbling on it, feeling entirely embarrassed that he might have accidently advertised his ...preferences for men. But not quite men.
Leomon blinked as the moment was rudely broken, and decided that Robbie was definitely interested, but something was holding him back. He wondered what humans were like back in his world, were they so inhibited, and so reserved as Robbie seemed to be? He thought it prudent to pretend that nothing had happened, and dug out two more meat bulbs to roast for himself. Leomon didn't know how much humans ate, but he knew he could put away at least five or six meat bulbs at one meal.
Once Robbie polished off the second bulb, his embarrassment had left, since Leomon hadn't commented on what they had seemed to share. He glanced at the lion digimon with a hopeful expression. "Um... Any more? That tasted like the best steak I've ever had in my life. I'm still hungry."
Leomon growled softly in pleased laughter. "There's plenty. Here. Let me." He reached for another stick and stuck another two meat bulbs on it, and handed it to Robbie. "Now, just hold it over the fire. The trick is to watch it so it doesn't burn but turns slightly golden brown."
Robbie held out the stick over the fire, following what Leomon said, and staring at the bulbs for any change in color.
Leomon chuckled inwardly. Robbie was definitely adjusting to being here, and smelled much more at ease with him than he was before. He stuck two more bulbs on his own stick and held it over the flickering fire, waiting. They stayed like that in companionable silence until Robbie yawned widely after finishing his fourth meat bulb. Leomon had finished his own several minutes ago.
The lion digimon fed the flames a bit more, and scuttled backwards, to lay down, and glanced intensely at Robbie. "It gets pretty chilly in this region at night. I do not know if you have enough warmth in your garments or not. I was going to suggest we share body warmth, if you are comfortable with that. I am afraid we have no blankets available. If we were closer to my lair, I would have some." He glanced upward at that moment, with his arms behind his head.
Robbie wrestled with his inner demons. To share with this luscious man - no - lion, or possibly be cold later tonight. He growled at himself internally. "You fool, He may be interested! This is too good to pass up!"
He looked back at Leomon, and made a pretense of resignation, while his heart beat a bit faster. "Oh, alright! Uh... I guess if it's practical...I'm not quite sure if these clothes are enough."
Leomon smiled without showing his sharp teeth, and inclined his right side, giving permission.
Robbie scooted backwards on his butt, and laid his head back on the ground, but before his head landed, Leomon had held out his arm to nestle under his partner's neck. Robbie froze, feeling a surge of panic.
Leomon stilled, then swiveled his head toward Robbie's head, their faces very close to each other. He smiled toothily. "Relax! I am not going to bite. Now, scoot over here next to my side. It helps to maximize body warmth."
Robbie's thoughts grew cynical. Of course it does. And leads to other things! "Yeah... right." He wanted to call Leomon out on his invitation, but he didn't know if Leomon was being entirely honest and practical, or trying a trick that seemed very obvious. He wasn't so sure he wanted to stay at that spot much longer, but Leomon's natural body heat felt very nice, and actually very alluring. It had been about six months since he had a boyfriend. And it wouldn't hurt, would it?
Swallowing nervously, Robbie looked at the flames and blinked, noticing a rather thick protrusion jutting Leomon's trousers. He quickly looked upward, and closed his eyes. He tried to relax enough to sleep, and was succeeding rather easily since he was exhausted in the first place. Before he sank into dreaming, he could have sworn that Leomon had shifted his body slightly toward Robbie, and the side of his face was resting on Leomon's shoulder, while his paw laid on Robbie's upper back, holding him as close as possible. Leomon drifted off to sleep, content for the time being.
Morning crept into the cave with the sun barely peeking into the entrance. Leomon woke first, hearing the chirping cries of digimon birds flitting around in the distance. He frowned as he felt a weight across his chest, and raised his head to look. Smiling, he saw that Robbie had left his arm across his chest, and his hand was slightly threaded into his chest fur, and his partner had snuggled up as close as it were possible without overlapping. Moreso, he could feel something hard digging into his leg. The digivice was still lying on the ground near them, so that also confirmed something else for him. Robbie, on some level, was indeed interested. It had to be some sort of taboo back in the human world, and Leomon knew he was definitely not human. He lightly rubbed Robbie's lower back, and slid the shirt up, and traced a circle at the middle of his back, feeling some fur back there. Apparently fur for humans could be luxurious. His erection threatened to strain the trousers further out, getting more painful. With a savage hiss, he stopped everything he was doing, and he dampened anything else he was thinking of doing - for he would awaken his partner too quickly. It probably would frighten him off even worse.
As much as he'd love to bask in this, and wake him in a much different way, he knew they should awaken and start traveling. Slowly moving and disengaging himself from Robbie with extreme reluctance, he wanted to maintain the appearance that nothing else was shared but body warmth. He wanted to make sure Robbie awoke near him, but not virtually attached to him. He had the suspicion that Robbie would be mortified if he had found himself in such a position upon opening his eyes. With a small sigh, he shook Robbie's shoulder with his paw, waiting for him to wake.
Robbie moaned as he opened his eyes very slowly. "Ughh..." He heard a gravely chuckle and his shoulder being shook again. "It is morning."
Still half-asleep, he grunted. "..five more minutes."
Leomon growled in Robbie's ear. "No. Wake up."
Robbie's eyes quickly opened, and he yelped as Leomon's face so near his was split in an amused smile. "Well, now, that's better. You're not a morning person, are you?"
Leomon was sorely tempted to lick Robbie's face clean, along with other things, but felt it might be a tad inappropriate at the moment. His partner looked extremely appealing this morning, and it was all he could do to keep himself from doing what he really lusted after.
Robbie's heart was racing a mile, until he took a slow breath. "Ugh. Not really. Don't do that again!"
Leomon leaned back, his amused smile still playing on his face. His smile dimmed, as he looked into Robbie's bleary expression. "We should leave here as soon as possible. We can eat on the way. The fruit bulbs should revitalize you."
Robbie dragged himself up to a seated position and sighed, pummeling his brain for where they had to go. "...I suppose. Tree Kingdom, right?"
Leomon nodded as he clambered to his feet, and turned around to tidy up the campsite. Robbie could see every curve and every angle of Leomon's body on his ascent, and was taken back by his physique. Muscles rippled and flexed encitingly. It was a moment before Robbie smacked himself internally. Now was not the time to gather cobwebs, and drool. He had a task to do here. He hurried to his feet, and suddenly realized he had a raging hardon. He scowled, and turned around quickly, trying to adjust himself without making himself look too obvious. He thought he had succeeded at hiding it... at least for the time being.
He breathed slightly easier, and stood there, feeling his member press insistently against his pants, until he noticed his digivice lying on the ground where he had left it the other night. How could he almost forget it? He scooped it up and looked at it critically. He'd have to figure out a way to attach it to himself more firmly. He looked at the back portion of it, and saw what resembled a clip. He grinned. Thank god he had brought a belt with him. He slid the digivice over the belt, clipping it in place at the front of his right hip. He suddenly noticed the pressing matter in his pants had relaxed. He was happy for the reprieve.
Robbie turned around and waited. He didn't know what he could help with, or do, so he just waited. "Um... Need help with something?"
Leomon turned and shook his head. "No. The fire's out, I'll leave the wood bundle here, and all we need is to bring the fruit and meat bulbs with us. I can show you how to pick some on the way, if you want." He pulled another fruit bulb out and handed it to his partner. He took one more out for himself, and slung the bag over his shoulder.
Robbie smiled, taking the fruit. "Sure. That'll be cool." He started walking toward the entrance, while Leomon trailed shortly behind.
The Lion grinned in pure unadulterated appreciation as he watched Robbie walk toward the cave. Once he realized he was still standing in the same spot, he hurried his steps to catch up.
Robbie stopped at the entrance when he realized he had no clue where to go next, and Leomon stepped up beside him, and pointed to the right. "There. In that direction is the Tree Kingdom. South." He focused inwardly for a few moments, thinking that it was amazing that Leomon somehow seemed to know what he was thinking at times, but dismissed that idea as quick as it occurred. He was probably being a tad predictible. After all, he was a stranger in strange land.
He let the lion lead the way and followed, trying to focus on the surroundings around him this time. He had more or less accepted that he was stuck here for the time being, and who wouldn't want to explore this place. Robbie was continually impressed by the lushness of this place, and was craning his neck to see everything. Back home everything seemed a lot more paler and lifeless by comparison. If, on the very slim offchance that this was a dream, he woke up, he knew he would be severely dissapointed. At the back of his mind, a small voice insisted this was no dream.
He spoke quietly out of nowhere, not realizing that Leomon could hear him clearly. "Are you really a dream? If I wake up...will I still be here?"
Leomon forced himself to keep walking, and to act as if he hadn't heard a thing. But he hoped Robbie's comment meant what he thought it meant. Perhaps it was wishful thinking, but he didn't care.
He started pointing out certain landmarks and naming them, trying to help his partner figure out where they were. Robbie listened silently, quickening his pace to match Leomon's large steps, and walking beside him instead of following. Leomon smiled very briefly once Robbie had fallen into pace with him, and then he spoke. "Northwest of the Tree Kingdom, several hundred leagues are the Mountain lands. I myself have never been there. My lair is to the west, about several days travel. To the North is a wasteland of sand -- no one dares to go there because of large sandstorms. Rumors are that there are ruins there from eons ago, but no one has investigated them."
Robbie listened avidly to Leomon's descriptions of these different locales, and smiled. Even if he had a 'destiny' to fulfill here, he couldn't help but view this place as something worthwhile to save.
A loud noise echoed throughout the forest, making Leomon crouch immediately in a battle stance. Robbie froze, without thinking, his heart hammering wildly in fright.
A thudding step resonated closer to the two of them, then another. Leomon risked a glance upward, and growled quietly, yanking Robbie's arm. He hissed. "Get down! It could be one of the Mist's controlled Digimons!"
