Cuervus couldn't remember how this happened, one minute he was riding to the capital city with Kota, the next he was in a dark room somewhere, his head throbbing. At thee moment his only comfort was the furry back pressed against his own, though that did raise an entirely new set of questions about where his clothes were...
"Kota, are you there?! Are you ok?" Cuervus asked, a hint of panic in his voice.
"Calm down, I'm ok, we got ambushed by bandits, they knocked you out, so I went willingly..." Kota trailed off.
"Why would you do that?! Why didn't you fight them?!" Cuervus begged for an answer.
"They had a knife to your throat, said if I moved a muscle they would kill you..."
"I've already told you... I don't care if I live or die... now we're both going to die and it's my fault..." Cuervus spoke in a sad tone.
"No, you're going to focus, and figure out how to use your magic to get us out of here, I believe in you, then we'll kill them together."
"Ok... I'll try... but what if I hurt you?"
"Just remember me in your mind as a friend... and I'll be fine."
Cuervus sat with his back against the wolf's, his breathing becoming more steady as he focused. Light began to swirl and shimmer into the room from all directions, the human's icy blue eyes began to glow. A wave of cold began from Cuervus and spread, the bindings holding the two explorers freezing solid, the frost spreading beyond the rooms, the screams of bandits making it clear it had gone quite far. Kota shattered their bindings and took the exhausted human into his arms, prepared to carry him out of the bandit fort.
"You did it, I knew you could, see? You're not worthless, you're amazing, and strong..."
"We need to move, I don't know how far it went, there may still be some alive..."
The two found their clothes intact in a chest in the guard room, along with their weapons. every room in the fort was frozen, bandits crystallized in whatever their final act was, Kota had to laugh when they found the chief's room, they picked the lock to find him in bed with his lover, and though the clothes his lover had been wearing were clearly for women, his lover was decidedly not. even outside the fort the ice had spread, creating a small snowfield in the middle of the plains.
"This is... wow... I did all this?" Cuervus asked doubtfully, still being carried on Kota's back.
"Yeah... you did... it's spectacular, you're powerful... heh... If I hadn't had you here they would have just clubbed me and taken me... I'd probably be in a slaver's cage right now..." Kota was hit with realization of his luck at finding the young sorcerer.
"I... guess so... I'm tired..." Cuervus could barely keep his eyes open.
"You can ride the rest of the way in the wagon if you want.. let you sleep up..." Kota chuckled as he loaded the now sleeping human into the wagon and set of towards the capital, with any luck they could avoid any more trouble and be to the capital soon.

The human had never even seen another village, the capital city was something of a shock to him, not only were the buildings huge, but they were made of stone, and surrounded by a giant wall. Cuervus had never even seen a house with a second floor, most of the homes in his village had only had one room. in his distraction Cuervus got separated from Kota needless to say he was terrified, he was alone in the biggest place he had ever been, and had nowhere to go...
"Lost little human?" a deep voice asked from behind him, he turned to see a large dragon, he was scared until he realized something.... He KNEW this dragon...
"Drovas?!" Cuervus asked excitedly.
"Long time no see Cuervus, so what brings you to the capital, medicine, supplies? don't tell me... slavers? If so I've probably got the coin to buy you!" The dragon's sense of humor was a bit on the dark side... and honestly the human often thought he was serious... especially since he had mention enslaving him before.
"No, I'm here with a new friend, he's a sell sword... he's asked me to join him..."
"Since when can a gentle little human like you even lift a sword?" Drovas asked.
"I can't... I'm a sorcerer..."
"That's amazing! So where is your friend?"
"We got separated in the market when we first got here, have no clue where to find him..."
"Oh really?" Drovas stepped closer to Curevus, "So I could just take you right now... and he would probably just think some cut-throat had grabbed you in a back alley?" Drovas snapped out of it, "Sorry... well, good thing I found you instead, let's go find your friend ok?"
"Ok Drovas... wait... what exactly just happened?"
"Look... I just have trouble controlling myself around a cute little human like you..." Drovas said, "I try to keep it under control, but at times would love nothing more than to have you all chained up where I could keep you for myself... it's a dragon thing..."
"I trust you Drovas... let's go fnd Kota..."
"Kota... As in Moon-Blade Kota? THE Kota asked you to join him?!" The dragon seemed extremely excited.
"Um... I guess so? Is he really a big deal?"
"Hell yes he is!"
Drovas knew exactly where to go, The inn in the south district was Kota's usual spot, where he went to gather info, sure enough he was there, asking around to see if anyone had seen Cuervus, when he spotted the human a look of relief crossed his face as he ran to Cuervus' side.
"Thank the gods you are safe!" Kota said as he embraced the human. "If something had happened to you it would have all been my fault!"
"Don't worry, he was in good claws..." Drovas spoke up.
"Then I must thank you dragon! Let me buy you a drink!" Kota offered.
"Actually, I have a request, allow me to join you as Cuervus has, the three of us would make quite the team!"
