Chronicals of the Justicar Act 1/ Part 1
#2 of Chronicles of the Justicar
[Planet Fankriss. Year 3,679. April 5th. Tuesday. 9:45 AM. VALOR Planetary defence force: 254th Jetsams]
A marine walked down the sandy trail to a large encampment, he looked at his digital watch built into his suit's wrist.
"Three more blasted hours on this dam shift." He grunted, kicking the ground with his armoured boot.
He took off his helmet with a quiet click and put it under his arm, before he wiped his forehead of all unwanted sweat. He slowly made his way to a large flat rock that jetted out of the ground, as he got close to it he sat on the rock and quickly took off his back pack to bring out his canteen of purified water. Only to find that it was empty already.
"Damn it to hell, I swear this rock of a planet is going to be the death of me, nothing but sand for miles. Why the hell does VALOR even need this world?"
Tiredly the marine got off the rock and put the canteen back in his back pack; he brushed his brown hair and put back his helmet on. He drew his assault rifle from his shoulder that was attached via magnets and held it with both hands.
He went back quickly went back on his patrol on the desert planet. A UNSF Battle Tank rolled past the marine with its giant treads, the ten barrelled tank followed the path behind the marine as it patrolled the base as well.
The tried marine saw an armoured figure, he could tell the creature was taller than him by comparing it to the nearby sand dune. The alien wore purple and black tinted armor that was much bulkier than the standard marine power suit.
The alien creature tilted its head at the marine.
"Halt in the name of VALOR!" yelled out the young marine
The creature stood still and looked at the marine from the sand dune.
"Move, or I will shoot!" yelled him again
The alien started walking towards the human.
The marine had his orders; he reloaded his rifle with a red clip from his ammo belt that ran across his waist. He made sure the safety was off and aimed at the intruder's head. With a load bang and flash from the high powered round deflected harmlessly off the alien's head.
The marine clicked into his wrist communicator. "Sir, we have a proble-"
But before finished something grabbed his leg and he was thrown to the ground in one swift motion. The marine was crawling on the ground with sand covering his body from the impact and he looked up to see a horrible creature was standing over him.
The creature was human like except for the severe mutations. It's head was located in the middle of its chest, the arms were converted into scythes and a large piece of bones was shaped as the bladed part of the weapon. It's feet were turned around from the heel giving the monster a limp, the alien wore the same purple and black armor as the previous alien.
The mutated creature raised its scythe like arm into the air and with a screeched came down and decapitated the marine on the ground staining the sand with his blood.
More purple and black armoured creatures rose from the sand and marched towards the VALOR base; VALOR marines quickly ran to the approaching figures and began firing on the them.
One of the figures raised its right hand in the air as the left hand held it's gun. It slammed its fist into its chest and then back into the air. "Hail Khaos!" the alien yelled
One of the mutated aliens screeched as it attacked a VALOR marine, the human slammed the butt of his gun into the head of the alien that was located on its chest, the impact didn't phase the creature instead it counter attacked and Impaled the marine in the back with its scythes and ripped the marine in half scattering the bloody remains of the defender.
A figure raised its weapon and focused on a VALOR marine that just blew one of the mutated creatures into chunks with his shotgun; the alien pulled the trigger sending hundreds of red orbs at the marine.
Several orbs hit the marine each disintegrating the limb they touched until the human was no more than echoes; the alien cackled and reloaded its rifle when it was sent into bloody shrapnel from the main cannon of a VALOR Battle Tank.
The tank continued firing rounds into the creatures, sand dunes exploded as shells hit the bases, one Sand dune exploded but not from a shell, mechanical noises shook the ground and giant crab like tank burst from the sand and towered over the battle field.
Its right pincer picked up the tank and sheared it in half like it was paper, the crab tank clicked its pincers together before it started ripping the VALOR forces apart.

A large air craft flew over the planet's surface, the machine was plated in the purple and black alloy the creatures wore on the attack of Fankriss. The ship had four wings which were located on the bottom half and top half of the ship creating an 'X' shape.
The built-in engines located along the back side of the wings created no exhaust as it moved and no screeching was made as it sailed past the rocky planet of Sepress Prime.
The ship flew straight towards a large mountain that stood above all the other peaks, before the ship crashed into object, part of the mountain opened showing a hanger docked with more purple and black ships just like the operational one.
The wings of the ship retracted into the body as it hovered towards the base of the hanger to land. The ship slowly came down to the ground and just floated inches off the ground before, the beetle like head of the ship opened and a ramp fell down on to the ground creating a bridge.
Several of the armoured alien marched out of the drop ship as it continued to float on its spot, the hanger bay doors closed leaving the room in darkness until red lights flickered on and the alien tech staff continued doing check ups on all the ships docked.
The door to the hanger bay opened and an orange armoured alien entered, the guards near the door way saluted. "Hail Khaos!" the both yelled
The orange alien waved its hand acknowledging their salute and walked towards the newly docked ship were its troops were.
The alien looked at their numbers. "Where are the rest of your troops?"
"All dead, sir, were underestimated the human's resolve, we managed to secure the base but deaths were high even with the Devastator tank, although send my regards to Apothecary Lord Truth for his very effective plague beasts. "Said the purple and black alien
The alien removed its helmet to blink all ten of his eyes. Two large eyes were located as all humanoid creatures had there's, but four smaller eyes surrounded each eye along the top. A large mouth covered most its face with jagged teeth showing from the tops of his lips, the alien had no hair or visible ears.
"What's done is done, you did well Zakaev. I'll have some daemons from House Baphomet give them a proper funeral." Said the orange armoured alien.
Zakaev nodded. "Hail Khaos." He saluted
"Hail Khaos." Replied the alien

The three high commanders of VALOR stood around a circular table as they finished watching the video log of a marine who escaped the massacre of Fankriss.
"Dammit!" yelled Mitchell after reading the report from Planet Fankriss
"I warned you General, The Forces of Khaos would send more troops after I was defeated, Lord Khaos is now going all out to destroy the VALOR Empire" said Hador
"The Forces of Khaos again, eh? Our combined forces defeated their armies many times thanks to the Vindicators and we can crush them once again." said Demon Dragon lord
"If we learned one thing from the Forces of Khaos is that they are indeed a threat to all life everywhere. If we are going to counter-attack them, we should investigate what planet the Khaos forces launched from and show Lord Khaos that we will not back down as his men slaughter worlds!" growled Hador as he clenched his hand into a fist
"It's true the Forces of Khaos have become more bold to attack a VALOR military base, despite being a small one at best. We should use there aggressive behaviour to launch a sizable force and seize one of their home worlds as an example." said Daemon Dragon Lord
Mitchell nodded as he listened to the Daemon talk about the appropriate battle plan.
"The Forces of Khaos are known for the hiding in the deepest reaches of space, are you sure you can find a Khaos planet? Let alone a home word?" Asked Mitchell
"General Constantine. If it's one thing my men do best, is finding were these Khaos bastards lurk. Starting organizing a full scale invasion, you will have your planet" smugly said the Daemon
Mitchell laughed. "The Forces of Khaos shall weep what they have sown."
[Planet Sepress Prime. Year 3,679. April 6th. Wednesday. 7:42 AM. Khaos Garrison Force. 162 Suffering]
Zakaev saluted to two Darkspawn guards as the one on the right opened the door for him. "Good to see you again Zakaev!" said the younger guard
Zakaev smiled at the recruit and patted him on the shoulder before entering the room the older guard opened for him. The chamber didn't reflect the same design the previous rooms have centred around.
Although the uniform colours were black and purple, black to represent the Infinite void creatures who helped the Darkspawn race and purple to represent the blood spilled from heretics and all that defied Lord Khaos.
The previous rooms were plated in metal that covered the dirt walls inside the mountain to reinforce and stabilize the mountain from the various troop movements through out the catacombs of the planet.
This new room had no metal walls but instead was all natural, dirt columns connected the ceiling to the ground, along the highest parts of the dirt walls had built in walkways were Darkspawn guards patrolled and looked out the glass window into the room below.
It's not the room its self Zakaev was looking at, but what's in the room. He couldn't count the number of the black scaled creatures that climbed the walls around the chamber.
Sepress Prime was important to the Forces of Khaos because of the unique species that inhabited the barren world, the Valgaries. When Khaos forces first landed on the planet to begin constructing a forward base near VALOR controlled space they were met with swift résistance from the planet's inhabitants.
After several weeks of guerrilla warfare from Valgary strike teams, the Forces of Khaos made communication with the Hive King and ordered a cease fire. Khaos missionaries greeted the King and began to form an alliance, the Valgaries would allow the Khaos to build there stronghold on the planet and in return the Forces of Khaos would help there race colonize planets and defend them as well.
Zakaev has been going to this Valgary hive ever since he first came to Sepress Prime, being a high ranking Khaos soldier he had to set an example in Khaos and Valgary relationships.
The Valgaries had the remarkable ability to instantly reinforce their scales becoming more protective than Dark Spawn body armor, although a young race the Valgaries have evolved from the planet's harsh environments and became a great assist to the Khaos's military power.
Zakaev held his helmet under his right arm as he waited for one specific Valgary he knew for the longest time, he tapped his black boot as he waited, watching the Valgaries climb over the walls and interact with one anther.
"Zakaev!" yelled a voice behind him
The Darkspawn turned around to see a Valgary run up to him and squeeze the daemon in its black arms. "You're alive!"
Zakaev slowly separated the Valgary from his body and took a quick breath. "It will take more than there feeble slug base weaponry to kill this Darkspawn!" laughed Zakaev as he flexed in front of the Valgary
The Valgary laughed. "When only one transport docked from the raid, I thought you were killed in the attack."
"I made you a promise Liken that I would come back, and here I am. VALOR could have deployed all their war machines and I would still make it back alive" he flexed again
"You were always the bravest of your squad" smiled Liken.
Zakaev tossed his helmet to a guard that barley caught it in the nick of time. "Moloch, I'm taking Liken to the river of Hurhan." Said Zakaev
The guard laughed. "Anther date with your girl friend Zakaev? I know you like to promote friendships between us and them, but isn't this a bit far?"
"It isn't a 'date' Moloch. Liken and I have been friends since I first was transferred here so why don't you---"
Moloch interrupted Zakaev. "Ok, ok, ok! You don't need to be so defensive, was just joking."
Moloch opened the door from the chamber as he entered his security password in one hand while holding his rifle in the other.
Zakaev and Liken walked past Moloch as he closed the door behind him with a press of a button. The black Valgary held Zakaev's right arm with both hands as she hugged the taller alien, her elongated head nuzzled against his shoulder as they walked down the reinforced hallway.
Dark spawn guards and tech staff walked back and forth between the hallway and the several rooms that they connected. The two made their way down the corridor to the door on the opposite end; anther guard greeted the two before he opened the door to the outside.

A marine tied his brown sweat pants on, pulled his sweat shirt over his skinny body with the recruits symbol on both of his shoulders. The VALOR insignia was sown on the shirt, the VALOR's basic assault rifle that pointed into the air with two wings positioned on it's side and the word 'VALOR' written along the gun from top to bottom.
Finally he quickly tied his leather boots on and headed out side from the bunker, before going into a very large court yard the size of three foot ball fields. Hundreds of recruits were doing laps around the edges of the indoor field, live fire training, and training in hand to hand combat against other recruits.
The brown skinned human walked to his assigned platoon were they were being trained by a muscular drill instructor who wore the recruit's uniform except his rank was stitched on the right shoulder. The sergeant stood around eight feet tall roughly two feet higher than himself.
"Who are you?" questioned the Drill instructor
"Private Fiaz! Ready for combat! Sir." said the recruit
"Why are you here?" snapped the white male teacher
"I want to defend my world from the scum-sucking Khaos zealots!" said the human quickly
"That's what I like to hear in a recruit!" clapped the instructor
Private Fiaz quickly walked into the empty space that was between two larger recruits, standing straight up with arms at their sides.
"Ok recruits, were going to start off with a warm up, let's see what you're made of! I want fifty push-ups on the double!" ordered the sergeant
The sergeant's platoon immediately went to the ground and started their training; in one rhythm the platoon was in sync with each other as they did there push-ups.
But if a recruit skipped a beat the sergeant would pick him or her up and call them a word you never heard of and send them off to anther human drill instructor who would pull out a black stick and chase the recruit through the obstacle course and if they were too slow he would hit them in the back with a smack.
Fiaz kept doing his painful endurance tests, his ached horribly and he knew this was properly the easiest part of training, but Fiaz felt strong that he was going to graduate the academy and become a marine, although he was just a kid when the Forces of Khaos first attacked VALOR that was lead by Dread Lord Hador, he was still inspired by the brave men and women who faced the greatest threat VALOR as ever witnessed.
He was going to graduate and kill all the monsters and save the universe just like his dad had done in the previous war, although his dad was killed during the final assault against the Dread Lord's stronghold, Fiaz was still focused on joining the military and making the Khaos zealots pay with their blood
After ten minutes of the push ups the sergeant ordered everyone to get up, Fiaz felt like his arms were spaghetti and were going to fall off, Fiaz looked around and saw out of twenty people, eight of them were gone, but then saw his missing team mates running through the obstacle course with the human drill sergeant chasing them threw it.
"Now, let's start with some laps you maggots! Were going to go around this entire court yard until you notice every single little nook and cranny here!" ordered the alien
The sergeant stood at the side of the platoon and the recruits made up two rows of six, the running wasn't the hardest part of this exercise but staying in two neat rows at all times, Fiaz was the second last person with anther recruit on his left who looked like in his early twenties.
Just then a large announcement came up with a voice of a man that sounded he was either utterly bored or only had one tone. The announcer told everyone to meet in the briefing room for a special assignment.

"I have always liked this place" said Zakaev as he relaxed in the orange sand near the shore of the large river.
The sun heated the planet like furnace which caused all the dried up lake beds across the planet's orange surface, the nearby river provided the only natural water and food for the Valgary race who chose to settle near the banks.
Liken kneeled at the base of the river, swatting the river in hopes of catching one of the river's many lung fishes, Zakaev sat straight up and blinked four of his ten eyes. "What are you doing?"
Liken didn't answer at first, she focused on the fish that swam a few inches near her. The Valgary turned her head realizing she had been called, "Just trying to catch us some food" she smiled
"Liken, we came here to relax on this night. I don't want you working."
Liken turned her head and sighed as she watched the fish dart away at the last second before she could catch it. "Liken..." said Zakaev again.
The Valgary slowly made her way to were Zakaev was sitting on the sand; she quietly sat beside him, Zakaev placed his arm around her shoulder when he retracted it quickly.
"Do you really have shell armor on? Not the most comfortable thing to touch."
Liken was about to retract her hardened scales when Zakaev's wrist armor beeped. "I'm sorry Liken; we will have to continue this anther day. Ya'garo needs me.
[Planet Sierra (Artificial Planet). Year 3,679. April 7th. Thursday. 1:56 AM. Planetary defence Force. 888th. Shattered Sun]
VALOR marines stood in rows of hundreds as they covered the entire courtyard in long narrow lines. The human soldiers wore the Standard Power Battle Armor (SPBA), the first layer of armor they wore over there clothes were made up of a special kind of silk that came from a genetically altered spider deep within the VALOR tech labs on Sierra.
Over top the white silk was the primary armor to the SPBA. Several heavily condensed alloy plates covered the chest, shoulders, legs, elbow and feet. The plates came from many different metals around VALOR controlled space and were melted down to be reshaped into usable armor, although they were lightweight and flexible, they still held up to the strongest of weaponry.
Each UNSF VALOR marine carried a powerpack that was located on the backside of the armor. The powerpack provided the wearer additional stamina and strength through the use of the electrical systems that was intertwined with the white silk and hardwired into the user's body.
The helmet of the power armor was a separate piece from the SPBA. A thick bullet proof glass piece provide the wearer the see perfectly and not sacrifice protection, two rectangle black speaker like pieces were located were the top and bottom lip of the marine's mouth was located so he/she could talk, but their voice was masked from the machinery creating a genderless tone.
The blue plates over the white silk wasn't the only noticeable detail on the marine's body. Each human wielded the basic M63 VALOR assault rifle, the gun was most known for the 'arch' on top of the gun, the top of the gun formed upwards and then back down again towards the end of the barrel.
A thick black wire connected the butt of the gun to the powerpack on the back side of the marine to provide the human troops with a power source capable of firing rounds of the assault rifle at a near instantaneous speed.
The VALOR troops waited silently as they waited for there commander to give them orders. Private Fiaz scratched his rear as he grew board standing in line with nothing to do but wait; he attached his assault rifle to his power pack when he heard a computer voice in his helmet.
"M63 assault rifle secured to. Right Magnet"
Fiaz was tempted to keep detaching and re attaching his gun out of boredom since it was the only entertaining thing to do, before he could reach to his gun an older gentlemen walked up the stairs to the platform that overlook the indoor field.
The VALOR marines saluted in one motion except Fiaz who took an extra second to notice on what happened.
"Hello men, I am General Gomez and all of you are now in the VALOR military." The general waited as the troops down below celebrated, some hugging the marines beside them, some cheering with both hands in the air and other standing on spot waiting for Gomez to finish.
Gomez brushed his pale white hair and continued. "As you all know, the Forces of Khaos have attacked one of our planets, Fankriss. Many of our friends, family and loved ones died then, but many more will die if this battle plan I'm about to explain isn't executed."
Gomez turned behind him to a large view screen that covered the entire wall behind him. The screen flashed green, then the picture settled showing an orange planet near a distant star system.
"This is Sepress Prime. Our target." The picture zoomed into the planet's surface showing hundreds of orange and red peaks that covered the planet.
"The Forces of Khaos have fortified themselves in these mountains, normally the VALOR fleets would pound this stronghold into ashes but the Khaos forces are so deep within the planet it would be forfeit." The general took a breath and the picture faded away and in its place showed a purple and black armoured alien.
The alien had knees that bent forward unlike Human's were they stood up straight on the spot, its bald brown head had two large pale white eyes and four smaller eyes along the top of the larger eyeball.
The alien wielded a stocky red rectangular shaped rifle in its right four fingered hand. Several cylinders covered the waist of the alien which Fiaz assumed that they were ammo for the alien weapon.
"This is your standard Darkspawn. Strong, determined and completely insane. These zealots serve Lord Khaos in the destruction of all life; all Darkspawns are incredibly dangerous and are to be shot on sight."
The picture of the Darkspawn faded away, in its place was the recording of one of Demon Dragon Lord's spies. The footage showed hundreds of black creatures climbing the inside walls, the footage quickly cut to blackness when a Darkspawn pointed at the spy and yelled.
"Thanks to the spies we determined why the Forces of Khaos are interested in this planet. The Valgaries. Khaos plans to use this new alliance to bolster there forces against our own, unfortunately once the spies were discovered the Forces of Khaos, they began fortifying their defences and are waiting for us to make the first move. Remember men, The VALOR Empire is the last bastion of hope and freedom against Lord Khaos and his evil slaves, we must win this war."
[Planet Sepress Prime. Year 3,679. April 7th. Thursday. 3:20 AM. Khaos Garrison Force. 162 Suffering]
Zakaev opened the door to were he was summoned, the orange Darkspawn that greeted him stood in the centre of room watching the display screens track the VALOR fleets on route to Sepress Prime. Beside Ya'garo stood a much more attractive sight. The elegant figure wore a red silk dress that covered the left and right sides of her chest but left the middle section bare but covering her breasts was her tough red fur around her neck, the only thing covering her arms was a red dress glove that came up to the mid section of her arm, the back part of her arm was lined with fur the was soft to the touch, her eyes were emerald green and had a small black slit in both of her eyes, the underbelly of her skin was white scales that never over lapped each other, she also wore a necklace that was longer than her neck fur, it was engraved in purple diamonds that also managed to stay perfectly clean, her tail came form her low spine and curled on the floor and was rounded at the end, the demoness had her normal red fur cover her back.
"Ah Zakaev, glad you arrived so prompt" happily said Ya'garo "You know me and this is Lady Nalfiria of Lord Baphomet's house."
Nalfiria presented her hand to Zakaev in which he shook it with his opposite hand. "A pleasure" said Zakaev
Nalfiria smiled when Ya'garo continued. "As you know Zakaev I have ordered for any available assistance in the area to help defend Sepress Prime, all the commanders I contacted replied that Sepress Prime wasn't important enough for the campaign against VALOR, how they can leave the Valgaries undefended I still don't understand."
"Until Nalfiria answered my distress called and committed her entire legion to the defence of Sepress Prime, although House Laybrinth and House Baphomet do not see eye to eye in military action, we are still united in a common goal, the liberation of the universe and to resurrect our hero Lord Khaos."
Ya'garo turned to Zakaev. "The VALOR fleet will arrive in a few hours; I suggest you get some rest as me and Nalfiria figure out the appropriate battle plans."
Zakaev saluted to the two and left the room where he was greeted by Liken who was waiting outside for him.
'What happened?" questioned Liken as she walked beside the Darkspawn
Zakaev sighed. "The VALOR Empire plans to seize control of this planet in an attempt to make an example of what happens when we try and stand up to them."
Liken's mind started to race when the VALOR forces started landing on the planet's surface. "What about my family? What about you Zakaev?" said the Valgary as she started to worry
Zakaev comforted Liken as he hugged the shorter alien in his arms. "The VALOR dogs will never make it to where your people live underground let alone the planet's surface Liken, and me? I'll be ok, my faith is strong and my fellow squad are all alpha males of there families, I will see you again"
Liken sniffed and looked up. "Alright"
Zakaev broke the hug and began heading to his dormitory but Liken followed the Darkspawn. "Where are you going?"
Zakaev pointed down the hall. "My room, I only have a few hours of rest to get in."
"Mind if I tag along? This may be the last time I see you." she asked.
"Liken, for the last time, I'm not going to d---
"You don't know that for sure Zakaev. Please."
Zakaev looked at his room and then back at Liken. "Alright, let's go."
Liken held Zakaev's arm and asked him anther question. "Hey, Zakaev. How long have we known each other?"
"About three years, why?" he said as the Darkspawn starred down the hallway as the two walked
Liken still held Zakaev's arm as she answered. "Have you ever thought more of me than a friend?"
Zakaev opened the door to his room. "Liken, I like you, I like you a lot. We have a good friendship and I don't want it to be ruined if we get involved and break up through more complicated matters."
Liken sighed as the two entered the room. "I just thought you felt the same about me."
Zakaev sat on his single bed and began unbuckling his purple and black armor. Liken watched her best friend slowly get out of his armour, her heart began to race, this was just like one of her many fantasies when she first became friends with the Darkspawn.
Except this one was real. If she was going to act, it was going to be now or never.
Zakaev slid off his boot after unbuckling the last clasp. "You know Liken." Said Zakaev as he focused on his other boot. "We don't have to be mates to be more than friends, one day you can join my squad and we ca---"
Zakaev looked upwards to see the naked Valgary push Zakaev on his back on the bed from her right hand. "Oh my" said Zakaev as his friend was going to have sex with him.
