Pieces crumble and fall around me
as I fall into my pit.
Gnashing teeth and eyes surround me
taunting me to quit.
Sharp sticks and cracking whips.
The rattle of the cage.
These things I know all too well,
send me into rage.
Bound by arm and leg.
You thrash, and lash, and cheat.
Cry and whine and bitch,
but you know I can't be beat.
Who do you think you are,
you pathetic little worm?
Though you have me caged,
you're the one to squirm.
So bow to me,
your master.
Look me in the eye.
I want to watch the tears flow down.
I want to watch you cry.
Beg me for forgiveness.
Beg me for your life.
This cage you place me in can't stop me.
It causes me no strife.
So who's the one who's really trapped?
Can you not see?
It's not I who's within the cage.
I'm the one who's free.
