4:30 AM
As he slowly opened his eyes, Bruno was greeted with the cool early morning breeze. Every morning at exactly 4:30 AM Bruno would wake, stretch in his custom built bed(As there were no single beds his size), wash out his fur with cold water, and by 5 AM he would set off into the city.
During his stay in the city, Bruno had met an old blacksmith, who owned a shop called Ornlu and Sons, who specialised in making custom weapons and armor, but with the recent dparture of his sons the old blacksmith, who Bruno had learnt was named Ornlu, needed temporary help around the forge. Afterwards Bruno became a regular blacksmith, with him at the forge and Ornlu selling weapons and armor almost as fast as Bruno could make them. But today, today was a special day.
A few days ago, as he walked through the deserted streets, Bruno had been thinking about Argos, and how he could repay him for his kindness, so he settled on making a sword for him. But not just any sword, a PERFECT sword, one that takes a lot a care and a lot of time to make. Bruno had been making such a sword bit by bit the past few days, all that was left today was to temper the sword, this is where the hard part came in.
7 PM
It was a long day, forging swords, axes, breastplates and many more different accessories. Ornlu had just closed the sales, leaving Bruno to close up the shop when he leaves. He finally had time to finish the sword, the blade was white hot now, with each hit sparks flew off it, it was turning out to be the best Bruno had ever made. "Maybe if I heat it one more time?" he thought. Putting the blade back into the forge, being careful not to singe his fur while he was at it, he heated it up one more time. When he was satisfied with the heat he pulled it out, and laid it on the anvil. But there was something different, something, strange about it now, the whiteness was darker this time, "Could I have taken it out too soon this time?" He thought. Raising his hammer high to strike the mightiest blow of all, the sword had suddenly grown brighter now, strking down as hard as he could, the metal seemed to ring this time, "Strange" He thought. Carrying on with his work, Bruno struck it multiple times, the blade seemed to never cool down, with one final blow, the sword was complete, "Now for the cooling" he thought as he plunged the now complete blade into the icy water, the blade seemed to take longer than most to cool, but when it finally did, Bruno withdrew it and marveled at his work, it was the finest blade he had ever made!
8:50 PM
With the blade wrapped in cloth, Bruno closed the shop and started on his walk home. Smiling at his accomplishment. "I do hope Argos will appreciate this gift when I give it to hime this weekend." He trudged past shops and homes, the first signs of weariness taking a hold of him, "Hm, maybe I'll have a drink with Sariah and Arianna before I kick off to bed." As he arrived at the 76 roomed building, he entered the tavern next door only to find the two already half way through their drinks. Keeping the sword a secret he talked and laughed and drank with them until the late night. and so, retiring to bed he gently lowered himself onto the sheets, scratching at the places where his fur had been singed, It was now 11:45 PM, he thought of his current life situation, he thought about Sahriah, Nim, Arogs and Arianna, his only friends in the world if you didn't count Ornlu, his eyes slowly closing, so is a day in the life of Bruno Pavo, The bear sized wolf of the Imperial City.
