#1 of That Place

Do note, this is marked "extreme" due to the nature of parts of this story in line with the terms of service of SoFurry. Yes, this is extreme... and even writing this burdens my own soul terribly. Beware... quite literally. This will likely color your mood for days if not weeks to come, should you read on.

As the sign to a forest once read: "Turn back now, abandon hope all ye pass, for terrible tribulation and torment may befall you"

I hadn't planned on writing this story. In fact, I wish it would never have to be written, not as fact but as pure fantasy fiction, fear of the booger man, fear of the monster under the bed. Things that are purely figments of our imaginations so loosely based upon hard-and-fast reality that they can be easily and readily dismissed as nothing.

But, in this case, they're not.

This is a departure - a vast, dark departure - from my other writings but it was something my soul told me needed to be put into words. To brought before us as a testament to what we are, and that we should be able to do better, even though many of us overlook it as best we can, if not wholly avoiding the issues altogether.

That being said... if you're at all inclined to depression, deep sadness, have lost a pet recently (be it proverbially or literally), this is probably not the story series for you.

For the rest of you all... if you think you can stand the slap in the face by cold, hard reality. If you can stand your soul crying out for the mercy of the ages at the anguish of other souls....

read at your own peril.

That Place 2: Trouble

Well, let's see... where to begin. Well, I've heard folks say to begin at the beginning, but just where is the beginning? It doesn't seem quite right to tell you all about when I was a pup with my mother, brothers and sisters, or growing up by myself...

Tales of Ishim 1: Home at last

Snow. Well... that would figure, since everything else had gone wrong for him today. The young jackal pulled the stolen blanket tighter around his shoulders as he plodded on. Here he was walking away from a world he didn't want to be kicked around...

A Day Off Part 2

A Day Off Part 2 "We'll see about that in a bit, Zack. But for now, you best be helping Chet with the wood, ok?" I smiled at Zack. "Sure thing, Mr. Peters!" Zack smiled. I'm sure he guessed that he'd just added something more to the list for the...
