Unspoken

Story by Xandie on SoFurry

A new poem I wrote about a month back.

I'm sorry

For the things

I do not say

Even when the words

Do come

They stick upon

My tongue

And slowly

Fade away.

You keep me

On a ledge

Where I can only

Fall

I could walk along it

But never

From it

Can

I stray.

I'm frightened

By the thought

Of slipping

From your edge

To the tide

Below

Broken limbs

And battered heartbeats

Left

Whispering my dismay.

You could

Push me off

Watch me

Fall

Into the sea

Listen to my

Heart's lament

And leave me

Shattered

Where I lay.

The ocean

Could swallow me

Trap me

Beneath its waves

And

All those words

I could never say

Would remain

Upon my tongue

Until

They too are

Slowly

Washed away.

End of Time

I'd freeze to ensure your warmth, Drown to make you swim And suffocate so you might breathe. I'd lie to make you honest, Cry for your smile And bleed so you might heal. I'd break to make you whole, Fade to ensure you shine And fall so you...
