Serfin's Moonlit Change
A story I wrote up while streaming
Serfin has had an awful life with a horrible father, but lately things have started to change for him...
I hope you all enjoy, I would love to hear what you all think of the story! ^_^
NOTE: This story has slight violence and vulgar language in it, but not enough to be marked as mature.
A large yellow eye peeked through a portal which floated in the air into the human world, humans passed by not noticing the large yellow eye. As the eye's gaze traveled over the humans' it seemed to be searching out someone, as the humans continued on with their life one suddenly seemed to glow with an unseen aura to everyone but the eye.
The aura was a distinct silver aura that seemed to pulse with a life of its own; the eye wrinkled with delight as it finally found the human it had been searching for a long time. The portal winked out of existence leaving no trace of it ever being there, the human's aura dissipated with no sign of being noticed by anyone.

Serfin tossed an apple up and down as he traveled down the city sidewalk, he grinned at people as he passed by; the man had an oddly attractive personality. Some of his old friends from high school said he had the looks of a handsome wolf, as Serfin walked through the town he passed by some children. He grinned at the kids and threw the apple high into the air and jumped high up to where he threw the apple and snatched it out of the air with his teeth and did a front flip, as his feet hit the ground he heard applause burst out from around him.
Serfin dropped the apple from his mouth and shined a grin to the kids and their parents, and waved to them before walking off. As he walked through town people couldn't help but glance at his shock of white hair, people had always been astonished by his hair, especially when he had first been born. Serfin looked at his watch as he walked towards his house, he was getting home far later than he would've liked to.
As he glanced up at the sky the sun was already setting, "Damn it... dads not going to be happy..." The young man scratched his head nervously; his father had beaten him the night prior for being late. Serfin passed by a forest as he walked up the street, cars started to thin out as the lights of the houses shut off. The man glanced into the forest briefly and was shocked to see a huge white wolf in the forest, Serfin did a double-take but when he looked again the wolf was gone.
"D... did I imagine that...?" Serfin muttered to himself as he rubbed his eyes, the wolf had been a shock of white against the dense blackness of the forest. The man started to take a step towards the forest but his pocket started to vibrate, Serfin dug his hand into his pocket to dig out his phone. Serfin frowned as he saw the name on the screen, "Shit..."
As he flicked his phone open immediantly a voice started to shout through the speakers, "Where the fuck are you brat?!"
Serfin set his hand on his head as he took a breath, "Sorry for being so late dad, I got hung up at work."
He could tell from his dad's voice that the man was inebriated, "I told you to get back home by eight you little fuck, what time is it now?!"
Serfin glanced at his watch and sighed, "It's nine dad..."
The man's voice roared through the speaker, "You're damn right it is! Now if I don't see you in the house in five minutes I'm going to come out there and beat the stupid out of your goddamn head!" Serfin winced as he heard the phone get slammed on the counter, after a moment he heard his dad pick up the phone aggressively. "Damn it!"
As the tone of the phone being rightfully hung up, Serfin sighed and closed his cell phone. "He really needs to learn that cell phones aren't like old phones..." Forgetting about the wolf in the forest Serfin started to walk once more towards his house, behind him a pair of yellow eyes glowed through the forest watching him.

Serfin stumbled into his bedroom and wiped away blood from his eyes, he fell onto the floor and landed on his hands and coughed. "Damn it..." He looked around and found his first aid kit; he opened up the box and pulled out tweezers. As he sat on his bed blood poured out from a wound on his head, Serfin reached over to grab a piece of bark and shoved his between his teeth.
He pushed the tweezers inside of the wound and bit hard into the wood as red hot blistering pain exploded from his head, he slowly pulled out a piece of glass from his head. The wood inside of his mouth splintered as he bit into it, he pulled out three pieces of glass from his head before his wound was clear of glass. Serfin gasped as the wood dropped from his mouth, blood now dripped off in streams from his face. The young man clumsily stood and reached the window and slid it open, he then reached into a box and pulled out a rope ladder and strung it over the edge.
As Serfin climbed down the ladder he choked on his own blood, before he could reach halfway down the ladder a sudden wave of dizziness overtook him and he gasped as his hands slipped off of the ladder's rung and fell onto the ground below. Serfin coughed hard as he lay on the cold ground, "Ow..."
As Serfin lay on the ground he shivered as blood pooled under his head, he was able to pull himself to his feet and clumsily climbed over his backyard fence and dizzily walked to his neighbor's backdoor. He forced himself to raise his arm and knocked on the door, for a moment there was no sound from the house until a light inside turned on and the curtains on the back window were brushed aside and a gasp came from inside. The door was flung open to reveal a women dressed in a bathrobe, "Oh my god, Serfin, did your father hit you with a bottle again!?"
Serfin nodded sluggishly as he walked into her house, "I... I'm sorry Marie... I... I can't didn't think there would be this much blood..."
Marie waved away his worry, "Don't you worry, now get on my kitchen table, I'll grab my first aid kit." As she walked away, Serfin sat on the edge of the kitchen table and tried to keep his eyes open but as he sat there he felt another wave of dizziness and fell back and let out a small grunt of pain as his head collided with the table and passed out.

Serfin came in and out of unconsciousness, one moment he was lying on a kitchen table with Marie standing over him with a sowing needle in hand with thread in hand. The next moment he found that he was back in the forest next to the highway, a wolf sat in front of him towering over him. Serfin couldn't help but gape in awe at the large wolf, The wolf opened his mouth and spoke to him, "My son..."
Before the wolf could say anything else Serfin gasped as he was violently shook awake, he found himself looking at the angry face of his father. "Get up you little shit!" The drunk man picked Serfin up by his shirt, "I should fucking kill you right now!" Serfin shivered as his felt the stiches that Marie had sowed into his wound come loose.
Serfin closed his eyes as his father pulled back his arm in preparation to punch him, but as the man was about to throw his fist his mouth dropped open in a look of shock. Serfin grunted in pain as he was dropped to the floor, his father stumbled back into a wall, "W... what the fuck are you?! Get away from me you monster!"
Serfin sat up from the tiled floor of the kitchen and looked around in a daze but saw no monster, "What's happening...?" He looked at his dad and his eyes widened in horror as he watched his dad's chest suddenly get ripped open by an invisible set of claws, Marie awoke and glanced around and then saw Serfin's dad lying on the floor, her voice pierced the air with a loud scream as Serfin watched his dad collapse to the ground spurting out blood.
As the blood pooled with his own, Serfin found his voice failing him as he tried to speak. He couldn't contain his vomit as he threw up on the floor, the sound of people running into the house was dulled by the sound of his own heartbeat. As Serfin felt himself starting to pass out once more, he caught the image of a large white wolf in the pool of his father's blood.

A forest with fireflies rushing by, that was the first thing Serfin saw he found himself standing in the middle of a field of flowers. He could smell a damp musty scent in the air, he saw his father standing in the distance. "Dad?" He called out, a howl echoed through the forest sending chills down Serfin's back.
Serfin stepped towards his father who had his back turned to him, but as he drew close to the man his eyes went wide as a large wolf come out from the forest and stood in front of him and looked him in the eyes. The wolf's eyes were a deep and somehow... familiar yellow, the wolf blinked breaking their connection and turned towards his father. Serfin opened his mouth for a second to warn his father but realized that he didn't care, he closed his mouth and watched the wolf eat his father.
As the sound of flesh tearing filled the air, Serfin did nothing but watch as his father was mauled to death. Suddenly a painful shock filled his chest, air escaped his lungs as he fell to the ground.

"Clear!" Serfin's eyes flew open as an EMT pulled electric paddles from his chest, the EMT grinned at him as he started to breathe once more. "Thank god, we thought we lost you there for a second."
Serfin's arm flew out and grabbed the EMT's jacket, "What happened? Did my father really...?"
The EMT's eyes went down, "We found his body ripped up, it was if a wild animal ripped him open..."
An odd feeling filled Serfin's chest, he had never felt it before and he couldn't quite place it. The EMT smiled at him, "We've heard from your neighbor though about what happened, it sounds like now that you've gotten away from that horrendous man you won't have to worry anymore." Serfin nodded numbly, he reached up with his hand and brushed it against the cut on his head and gasped lightly as he found the cut was gone.
The EMT didn't notice his movement as he was looking forward; Serfin put his hand to the blood streaks on his face and felt the blood peel off in his hand. As he glanced at the blood he was shocked to see something about the blood, it was taking on a silver color. "What in the hell...?" Serfin muttered, he realized that if the EMTs' saw him with silver blood on his face that they would know something was up.
He quickly turned onto his side and started licking his hand and wiping away the blood on his face, he froze as the EMT set his hand on his shoulder. "Hey kid, is there something wrong?"
Serfin turned and grinned, "Yeah, why do you ask?" The EMT looked at his face for a moment suspiciously before smiling back and shrugging, he then walked into the front of the ambulance and Serfin was shocked to be able to hear the pair as if they were right next to him.
"So how long do you think that kids going to stay in the hospital before he's thrown on the streets?" Serfin was shocked by how harsh the EMT's tone was when he wasn't talking to him.
A harsh laughter came from the other EMT, "Probably five minutes, didn't you hear? The kid's father didn't have any insurance, that woman told us to bring him but it was probably crueler than actually helping him." Serfin clenched his teeth together and slowly stood up staying out of the sight of the driver's rearview mirror; he slowly went to the back of the ambulance and set his hands on the handles of the doors.
It was quiet inside of the ambulance as they drove further, Serfin took a deep breath as he waited for the car to stop but froze as he heard the EMT speaking. "Hey, I'm going to check on the brat to see if he's ok." A grunt of acknowledgement came from the driver, Serfin panicked and shoved the backdoors open and gasped in horror as he fell forward out of the car.
As he fell out of the ambulance a shout of surprise from the EMT called out, Serfin roared in pain as he hit the asphalt rolling. The squeal of a car's brakes being hit sounded, Serfin heard panicked cries sounding from all around him but he didn't give them another thought as he painfully pulled himself up and ran off of the road and into the forest.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Serfin didn't know where he was going, and more so he didn't know why he was running. It was as if something were compelling him to go deeper into the forest, as Serfin ran he frowned as he couldn't feel the forest grass under his feet so he stopped and kicked off his shoes. He looked up into the sky and saw that the moon was hanging high over him, its white light shined down on his hair making it appear as if it were glowing.
A familiar smell breezed by Serfin, he looked down to find himself standing in front of a giant white wolf. A normal person would run away, but Serfin felt no fear from the wolf. "Are you the one that killed my father?" Serfin questioned the wolf, at first the wolf nodded but then shook his head.
Serfin cocked his eyebrow, "Yes... and no?" The wolf nodded, his eyes glowed with a deep yellow luminescence. A memory came to Serfin of those very same yellow eyes, "You... you're the wolf that was in my dream..." The wolf nodded; Serfin was quiet for a few moments as he thought about everything. He looked down at his feet and realized that his feet were different; they were growing a light fuzz of white on his feet which seemed to be changing into paws. Serfin felt his chest gripped with fear but at the same time... the odd feeling from earlier which he had felt when his father died, Serfin slipped his shirt over his head to reveal that on his chest fur was also growing there.
Serfin fell to his knees and looked up at the wolf, "What's happening to me, why is this happening to me, who are you?!" He shouted out the last part in an angry roar, the wolf sniffed lightly.
"I'm your father." The voice seemed to ring through the forest; Serfin looked up at the wolf with a look of confusion.
"What do you mean; you couldn't be my father..." Serfin said in a quiet voice.
The wolf stepped closer to the changing human, "I sent you here many years ago, eighteen years ago as a human child. I had to do so to teach you how rotten humans can be."
Serfin felt anger grow in his stomach, "What are you talking about?! Humans aren't rotten; there are a lot of good people on this planet!"
The wolf was quiet for a moment, "Your 'father' beat you mercilessly; he wounded you today."
The changing human stumbled forward in an angry lunge, "If you really did give me to the human world, then you obviously gave me to him on purpose. You would've known that he was the worst the human race has to offer, I've lived here for eighteen years and it's true that there are awful people. But there are good people too, people who help others like Marie."
The wolf was quiet for a moment before an odd sound echoed from him; it took Serfin a moment to realize that the wolf was laughing. "What are you laughing at?!"
The wolf showed his teeth off in what Serfin assumed was a smile, "You've done exactly what I hoped you would do Serfin, you learned that even though the humans can be corrupt they have good among them."
Serfin winced as he felt his legs change into wolf's legs; he collapsed onto his butt and felt his pants disappear as if by magic. He looked up at the wolf, "Who are you? How did you change me into a human?"
The wolf looked at Serfin silently, "My name is Fenris; I am a great wolf god. I used magic to change your shape from your original cub form to a human baby; I left you on the step of that man to see how you would grow up under such a corrupt human. You've far surpassed any of my preconceptions, good job son." Serfin whined in pain as his chest changed into a more muscular and lithe form, his hands changed into paws and bled slightly as claws slit through the fronts of his changing fingers. Lush white fur spread across his body as he changed, Serfin's eyes flashed a vibrant yellow as they changed.
His nose popped into a black leathery nose of a wolf, the smells that spread through his nose astonished him. Serfin was assaulted by the smell of Fenris; the wolf gave off a powerful scent that made a whine echo from his throat. Fenris watched as his son changed into his original form, Serfin's ears sank into the sides of his head deafening him for a moment before they popped out of the top of his head.
Serfin gaped as the sounds of the forest came to him; birds chirped in the distance, the river burbled nearby, he could even hear the chewing of an animal running through the brush. His new ears flicked with each new sound, Serfin whined as his face pushed out into the muzzle of a wolf.
Serfin yipped as he felt an odd sensation from behind him; he looked down to see a tail pushing out. He marveled as he wagged his new appendage, Fenris chuckled as his son chased his new tail. Serfin had finally completed his change into a wolf, compared to his father he was still very small but compared to the average wolf he was larger.
"Son, are you ready to go home?" Serfin stopped and looked up at his father.
"Isn't this forest our home though?" This caused Fenris to laugh his voice carrying far throughout the forest; animals looked up in surprise at this rare sound.
After laughing for a few minutes the wolf jumped down to meet his son, "We don't reside in the land of mortals Serfin, we will travel to the land of gods." The god turned around and used his claw to tear a hole in thin air; he then turned to face the smaller wolf once more who gaped in awe. "Come son, let me show you your true home."
As Fenris walked through the portal and Serfin started to follow him he froze at the entrance and glanced back to look at the mortal world, the wolf felt the feeling once more as he looked at the world and finally realized what the feeling was. "Freedom..." He muttered before turning back and walking into the portal to the world of the gods.
