Wolf

Lowly low, quick to and fro,

Hides by the shadows night and day,

A quiet disposition, a strong constitution,

Stares with yellow eyes and sees.

Among his den, from five to ten,

A hungry pack he keeps.

Or go he alone, loyal to himself,

Alone shall he ever sleep.

Every sound he makes, every move he takes,

Has more than just one meaning.

A careful eye is more carefully watched,

Offense is worth retreating.
